Lost Ring White Gold Lake Amelia Minnesota

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Michael lost his white gold wedding band while playing football on a sandbar in Lake Amelia. He watched it come off his finger and tried to retrieve it right away as he was in waiste deep water. No Luck, so he rented a metal detector and went back. Still no luck. He looked on the internet and found « The Ring Finders ». Lake Amelia is around 2 hours away from my place, so when I found the ring I decided to stay a little while longer and see if I could find any old relics from the 1800’s. A lot of shot gun shells and pop tabs and then came another gold wedding band. Anyone reading this blog, if you have lost a valuable and you remember the approx. location, no matter how long ago it was. I have found many rings and other valuables just searching for relics – I would Love to get them back to their rightful owners!

Lost Wedding Ring Square Lake Minnesota

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Jason contacted me with a huge problem. He had been married 3 days and his wedding ring slipped off his finger while swimming in square lake. I know from experience that this lake is hunted frequently by detectorists, so..getting the hunt under way as soon as possible was critical. I cleared my schedule for the next day and asked him to meet me out at the lake to pinpoint where he was swimming as this is a very large beach. He did his job! It took me less then 5 minutes and I had his ring in my basket. This is one of the nicest rings I have seen – Take care Jason and I am so glad I could help out!

Lost Gold Wedding Ring at Kits Beach…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Kits Beach Vancouver, a young married couple playing Volleyball on a hot and sunny day  and enjoying the long weekend, that was until the young man’s wedding ring came flying off his finger into the sand… they searched the sand for hours but no luck!

Thankfully a friend approached the lifeguards for help and they passed my flyer to them. I received a call for help around dinner time and I was off to the beach.

I met the couple and they told me the area they thought the ring came off at and I started my search. There were few good signal and about 20 minutes into the grid search I had a loud signal and I felt it was going to be the ring…It was!

I love my job!

Lost Ring Lake Minnetonka

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

David went fishing last night and it was a bust, as he returned his boat to the slip and was covering it, his wedding band slipped off his finger and into the 8 feet of merky water. He searched the internet and found « The Ring Finders » which pointed him to me. I wasn’t very busy so I packed up my scuba gear and met him at his slip. As he knew exactly where the ring came off it only took around 10 minutes and it was back on his hand. He said even though fishing was slow and he lost his ring – getting it back made his day, and he said his wife would be very happy also!! Take Care David and good luck on your next fishing trip.

Lost Gold Opal Ring/Sunset Beach, Vancouver

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I received the call for help at 2:30 pm and we discussed the search, it was fireworks night and I knew I had to search for her ring ASAP.

She lost her Gold and Opal ring that was given to her by her Grandmother…She lost it when she went to high five her friend early in the morning at Sunset Beach…

With little hope of finding the ring they stumble across a Lifeguard the next day who gives them my number and a second chance.

Fireworks attract hundreds of  thousands of people and I knew I didn’t get out there soon it would be hard to find parking.

I rushed out to the beach and met the young lady who showed me the area. I started my grid search and I was finding lots of junk and after maybe 10 minutes I got a loud signal and out of the sand popped out her beautiful gold and opal ring.

I love my job!

Lost Platinum Wedding Ring Found in Santa Cruz !

  • from Santa Cruz (California, United States)
Contact:

I was contacted on the eve of 7/31 by a local area woman. She had lost a platinum wedding band and wondered if I could help her and was I interested ? I was at her house by 11a.m. the next morning. The ring had been » lost » after it had been thrown into the front yard. The situation appeared to be tailor made for an « easy » recovery. It proved to be anything but that.  To begin with, the area had the worst interference I had ever encountered. The EMF from the power lines and the conductive salts from the fresh fertilizer was giving my machine fits. It would not ground balance properly and I couldn’t push my gain past 4 or 5. This combined with the fact that platinum is inherently difficult to locate made me realize I was in for a serious challenge. The entire possible area was only around 500 sq. ft.  It was about 3/4 nicely kept lawn with the remainder planted with shrubs and covered with redwood bark mulch.  I first carefully and thoroughly searched the lawn and easy open areas. With these eliminated I then scoured the planted bark-mulch area, pushing in as tight to the shrubs and plants as possible. After an hour still no ring. As luck would have it, she had a matching band from her husband. I tied a flagging line onto the band and had her mimic the throw she had made with her own ring. The ring flew about 6′, way short and in the middle of the lawn where it definitely wasn’t hiding.  After shortening the flag as much as possible she gave it another throw and it ended up even with the planted area but a little right. I had my range ! I deduced (correctly or luckily, you pick) that she had probably thrown it even harder but I knew it hadn’t been thrown over the area.  It was concrete and asphalt past the shrubs and since she hadn’t heard the ring hit , it must be in the shrubs.  If she HAD thrown it harder, but not farther, it must have been a low line drive so my next search attempt was planned accordingly. I went to the range of her throw but in the center of the planted area. I pulled up the edge of the largest shrub as much as possible and nosed my coil in as far as possible.  I heard one faint high tone on my MXT but the signal was confused and looked to be trash. After a  minute I was about ready to walk away but I decided to try and pinpoint it one more time. I got a good spot on the pinpoint and when I set my pro pointer to the ground I put it right on top of the ring ! A great day for everyone !
