Ring lost in Mission BC… Found!

This search came from the Jon Cryer story about a month ago, the first time I went to look for the ring I spent close to six hours unsuccessfully. It was a difficult area to search due to all the blackberry bushes but Patti was not going to stop searching until she found the ring. This is how the ring got lost. Patti’s husband gave the ring to her to hold onto while he was helping their son-in-law build a barn. Patti took the ring and put it on her finger knowing it was very loose but keeping her hand clenched shut so as not to lose the ring. She walked over to a little shed where she grabbed a couple of apples to take to the horse but they were rotten so she decided to throw them into the bushes forgetting that she had her husband’s ring on her finger, at that particular time she felt the ring come off her finger and you can only imagine how that must’ve felt.

When she threw the apples she felt the ring come off, this is a horrible feeling! For anyone who has never experienced feeling a ring come off their finger and not being able to find it, it’s horrible. Patti told me she was throwing the apples up over the blackberry bushes which were close to 8 feet high at the time. When I got there to do the search she had cut back quite a bit of the blackberry bushes, giving me a really good chance to find the ring, after talking a bit more I found out that they had borrowed a metal detector from a friend of theirs but couldn’t find it, and that’s when they called me to come out and help.

Close to a 2-hour drive to get to Mission from my house and the first day no ring, six hours searching. Second time out over 4 1/2 hours still no ring. Patti had cleared more blackberry bushes, third time out I didn’t take footage of the search but I’m sure about three hours of search time. I’ve been getting a lot of calls and it’s hard to keep track due to the Jon Cryer story. Hard to imagine why I haven’t been able to find this ring, yes the area is very difficult to search and there are possibilities it could’ve got caught between roots and stems where I can’t get a Metal Detector in or pinpointed because of the prickles. I started thinking more out of the box, what if it went behind her to the right to the left, what if it went on the roof of that building so many thoughts crossed my mind but the biggest was why wasn’t I finding the ring?

Today was the fourth time out, it was a nice day and I was very hopeful, when I got there Patti was cutting back more blackberry bushes, I couldn’t believe how much she had already cut back and it made me believe there’s just no way the ring could’ve gone that far especially after hearing she is not right-handed and she threw it with her right hand. Even doing a test throw with a rock Patti couldn’t throw the rock that far.

For the what if factor I started checking the gravel driveway back to where the ring was handed off to her then I went back up to the hot zone and started grid searching while Patti was cutting back more blackberry bushes. As I was detecting near a smaller boulder I got a very faint signal beside the rock, I noticed a small crevice under the rock so I put my Garrett carrot in the crevice and  I got a signal. I found so much garbage here it didn’t mean much to me at the time, I just started trying to dig it out with the pinpointer and to my surprise, I pulled out the ring from under the boulder!!!!!

I was so excited but of course, I couldn’t show it right away because I needed to surprise Patti, she was still cutting back the bushes when I walked up to her and asked her a couple of questions and then put the ring in front of her to see her surprised look. I sure have fun surprising people and I got to tell you I felt so good to see that ring! Now to figure out how it made it so far back and so far under the boulder? After I got home that evening my thought was maybe a pack rat had taken it and put it there, any ideas please let me know.

Lost Gold/Titanium Wedding Ring Found in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia Garden

  • from Leesburg (Virginia, United States)

It’s always such a pleasure to be able to bring joy to someone during the Holidays and this is just one of those stories. I received a call from Scott who had lost his treasured wedding band while out in his garden during the Thanksgiving weekend. Scott was setting up some wire fencing and moving leaves around and realized he had lost his wedding ring. He thought he felt it come off and looked in the area where he believed the ring should be, but unfortunately he couldn’t locate the ring. While continuing to look at little longer Scott recalled seeing an article about a ring finder (theringfinders) who had recovered a lost piece of jewelry for an actor. He located theRingFinders website and subsequently gave me a call. We made arrangements for me to meet up with him the next day.

Scott lives in the dense hills south of Harpers Ferry and Charles Town West Virginia. The trip was a beautiful 45 minute drive through some very scenic West Virginia country and at one point even my GPS was so confused I had to call Scott to guide me through the rest of the trip to get to his home.

Upon arriving I met with Scott and his wife, who showed me the garden area to the right of the house where he’d been working the day before. We chatted for a few minutes and then I got to work. There was some fencing pretty close together in the tight garden as well as several bushes which limited my ability to use the standard detector as I had limited swing. I soon realized I was going to have to do this on my knees with my Garrett detector probe if I was going to have any chance of finding the ring. After moving some of the surface leaves away I started by searching across several areas, inside the bushes near the trunks, across a few small garden step areas…and within just a few moments the probe started buzzing and chiming and I knew that strong sound!! Scott’s ring was hidden just under a large pile of leaves right where he thought he had lost it.

Reunited!!

Gold Titanium ring found!

I excitedly sent Scott a text with the picture of his ring and immediately his wife was out on the back upper deck asking « You found it!!? » …at which I held the ring in the air!!

It would have been a disappointing memory to have lost your wedding ring during the Thanksgiving holiday and never to have found it. It was great pleasure to recovery Scott’s ring for him during this special Holiday and to see the happiness and smiles it brought to both him and his wife. God Bless and Happy Hunting!

Lost wedding ring in the grass, Windermere, Florida….Found and Returned to owner!

Andrew was playing ball with his son out on one of the grassy areas in his neighborhood when all of a sudden he felt his wedding ring go flying off of his finger. He immediately stopped and began to search the grass, thinking « How hard can it be to find a white gold ring laying on the grass? ». Soon he had a bunch of kids and a few adults involved in the search and it seemed like his ring just plain disappeared. And much to Andrew’s dismay it soon got dark and they had to give up the search.

That evening Andrew and his wife went on line to look for help and came across theringfinders.com and that gave them some hope! Just knowing that there are actually people « out there » that help people find their lost rings and valuables was a huge encouragement—so Andrew gave me a call.

We arranged to meet early the next morning and as we walked to the grassy area where Andrew lost his ring he explained how he was spinning the ball with two hands and that motion was what caused his ring to go flying. As they showed me where the loss occurred I put out four flags and began to carefully grid search the area with my ATMax metal detector. Knowing that his ring was a medium white gold band I was concentrating on anything showing numbers from large foil in the 30s to the 50s! Numerous targets were scattered here and there, most of them too deep to to be Andrew’s lost wedding ring. A recent ring loss will be a surface target that will sound crisp and clean and register shallow on the depth reading. Thankfully only 8 minutes later, our prayers were answered as the perfect signal sounded off in my headphones and there, barely visible in the grass, was Andrew’s lost wedding ring! I motioned for Andrew and his wife to come over and see what I had found! Lots of smiles and thank you’s were exchanged and a huge relief was obviously taken off of Andrew’s heart and mind.

Cell Phone lost recovered and returned in Chadds Ford, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Greg found me via The Ring Finders directory. He contacted seeking help to find a very important lost Iphone. We spoke on a Friday night and Greg shared with me that 2 weeks prior while enduring some very difficult and personal trauma he absent-mindedly left the phone on top of his car prior to pulling out of driveway of his home. He got to the end of the 400 foot driveway when he realized he left the phone on the roof of the car. Unfortunately the phone was no longer there and obviously slid off at some point during the short drive. To further complicate things the driveway was lined on both side with either leaves or pachysandra ground cover. Greg spent several hours over the last 2 weeks searching with a rake for the phone. I agreed to meet him on a Saturday afternoon. When I got to his home he was prepared with an old phone to reenact the incident… while I observed he put the phone on the roof of his car and once again pulled to end of driveway. It was clear that the phone must have slid off to the left side and most likely in the curved area of the driveway with thicker ground leaves. I booted up the detector and made a first pass parallel and closer to driveway…no luck. Halfway trough a 2nd pass quite distant from driveway in an area of thick leaves I received a screaming loud signal on my detector…to me there was no doubt what that was! I gently pushed away a a few inches of leaves to reveal his Iphone 7! I called Greg over and asked him to look down…the relief and joy on his face when seeing his lost phone made my day!

Massive platinum wedding band lost, recovered and returned in Chadds Ford, PA!

  • from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States)

Jay found me via The Ring Finders Directory. He told me he was in the front yard of his beautiful Chadds Ford, PA home putting up Christmas lights when he took a break to throw a football with his son. His son threw him a deep high pass and while reaching to catch it he felt(but didn’t see!) his large platinum wedding band fly off his finger. He actually borrowed a metal detector from a neighbor and spent several hours looking for the ring himself prior to contacting me. When talking to him I told him that I have had many people contact me after renting or buying a metal detector themselves…I feel the experience of the operator of these machines is as important as the machine itself when searching for something as important and valuable as a ring. Anyway, I met Jay on a Saturday afternoon and we reenacted the incident. Jay was convinced the ring must have flung off his finger straight back and far toward the side yard. After 20-30 minutes and not finding…we reenacted the incident again and considered other angles and expanded our search. Still nothing! We decided to reenact the incident one more time but this time Jay was going to actually fling a ring sized object to see how far and what direction it might go. He just returned from his garage with the ring sized object in his hand and was preparing to fling it…I was standing next to him in an area he never thought possible his ring could be…but sure enough I got the perfect signal on my detector. I bent down with my pin pointer and sure enough…there was his massive platinum band! The funny thing was Jay had his back to me still about to fling his mock ring….when I tapped him on shoulder and told him to stop! I held up his ring and we both started laughing…he couldn’t believe where I found it. We had the angles all wrong! All’s well that ends well! Jay was very happy to get get his ring back!

How to find a gold ring in snow at Whistler, BC

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

I got a phone call from a young lady who said her brother had lost his ring at a park in Whistler, our famous ski resort. She went on to tell me her brother was throwing a snowball and the custom-made ring that he had made, came off his finger and landed somewhere in the snow. She asked if I could help him and I said yes absolutely. She then called her brother and gave him my number, he called shortly after, we discussed the search and he thought that someone had already found it but I still want to go up and make sure.

I asked him to Google earth a map of the park so I could find it and know where he was and where he believed his ring came off his finger, he told me he wasn’t good with computers and that he would draw a map take a picture and send it to me, and he did.  I headed up early the next morning with my wife Beverley and we both were looking forward to finding his custom ring.

About an hour and 40 minutes to get to the park and it was snowing lightly and still snow on the ground, which made me feel that we had a good chance to find his ring. When I got to the area I FaceTime Francis to get our bearings to make sure we were in the correct area. He shows me the picnic table where he believed he was standing when he threw the snowball at his girlfriend. (Not Hard) I really wanted Beverley to recover this one so I gave her the detector and let her go at it, after 30 minutes her arm was tired because I did give her a heavy machine…

I gave her a break and start Detecting the area after at least an hour and 40 minutes of extending the search my thought process was maybe he had the picnic table wrong I went to the next one over and started searching and found it within minutes. You really have to think out-of-the-box when you’re doing a search and make sure to exhaust the area and think of the possibilities of where rings will show up. I was so excited to look down and see this beautiful ring I couldn’t believe the size and weight of it absolutely phenomenal ring problem the biggest ring I found to date! It must have weighed at least 3 ounces or more.

I called Beverley over to film it before I took it out of the snow, we both were just amazed at how beautiful this ring was and so very happy to be able to find it and help continue that story and meet the person and put it back in there hand. Because Francis wasn’t there Beverley and I were trying to figure out how we could surprise him on the phone and that’s when Beverley thought of the FaceTime Fake Out. I got a Tell you it was one of the most emotional reactions to date, you can tell how sentimental this ring was to Francis and the story of how his late sister-in-law’s husband’s goal was melted into this ring along with other people’s gold.

Francis gifted us four beautiful silver rings that he had made…Amazing! Thank you so much, Francis!

Every ring has a beautiful story attached to it and lucky to be able to help continue the stories and see the smiles that we find along the way…

Lost Set of Keys…FOUND in Time for Thanksgiving Day Family Gathering Starkville, Mississippi!

  • from Huntsville (Alabama, United States)

Christina McCree – Lost Item Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?…Call ASAP Anytime 24/7  610-504-6135

I received a call from a distraught Kayleigh on Thanksgiving Eve (Wednesday, November 25, 2020) for a lost set of keys.  Kayleigh explained that she was in the stressful process of moving and lost her only set of car and house keys on Tuesday afternoon.  Kayleigh was supposed to leave on Wednesday morning to travel to Tennessee for a Thanksgiving Day family gathering.  Instead, she spent all day Wednesday searching for her keys.  She wasn’t sure if she put the keys somewhere in the house or dropped them in the leaves outside, but she was unable to find them.

Running out of options, Kayleigh went online to rent a metal detector and discovered The Ring Finders Metal Detecting Service.  She decided to try a Ring Finder from the directory first.  Starkville, Mississippi is almost a 3.5-hour drive (7-hour round trip) from where I’m located at in Huntsville, Alabama, but there were no other Ring Finders in her area.  Hearing her voice on the phone, I could tell I was her only hope in order for her to see her family on Thanksgiving.  I graciously agreed to drive out early on Thanksgiving morning for a search.

I left my house at 4am and arrived at Kayleigh’s house around 7:30.  She had a pot of coffee waiting on me and we enjoyed a quick cup before I got to work.  Kayleigh said she could’ve lost the keys in either the front of the house or in the backyard while cleaning up around the firepit.  She wasn’t sure which path she took to walk out there, but she felt the backyard was the most likely spot she would’ve dropped the keys.  The backyard also had a large amount of leaves that could easily hide a set of keys.  I thought this was the best place to start searching.  Due to the rebar in the concrete, I used my handheld Garrett pinpointer to clear around the leaves on the patio.  I then started scanning my Minelab Equinox 800 along the most direct path to the firepit.  The first signal I checked, I brushed a few leaves aside with my pinpointer and boom, there were Kayleigh’s keys!!!  5 minutes after starting the search and the first signal I checked, I had Kayleigh’s keys in hand!  I went back in the house to tell her the good news!

Kayleigh was so thankful and relived that she had her keys back!  She also couldn’t believe at how quickly I found them, because she spent a whole day searching!  Nonetheless, she had her keys back!  I had been praying the night before and during the drive to Mississippi for God to put me in the right spot.  I asked Him for a quick search in order for us both to be able to spend the rest of Thanksgiving with our families.  God surely delivered!  All glory to Him!

Kayleigh thanked me a few more times.  We said Happy Thanksgiving and I was back on the road home.  Kayleigh was leaving shortly after to see her family in Tennessee for the Holiday.  This was truly a Thanksgiving miracle!

I was contacted by a woman that realized her wedding ring went missing. She told me she had recently been in her yard the day prior with damp cold hands raking leaves. She believes her ring may have fallen off during her yard work and wanted a specialist to come do a search for her ring. She lost a single custom made 14k yellow gold wedding band with a solitaire diamond and some tourmalines. She had no inclination of when or where the ring slipped off so after a detailed investigative chat with her I formulated a game plan. I prioritized my areas of search base on the areas she worked in the yard, spent the majority of her time and paid special attention to where she took her work gloves off. Her yard not all that big still had plenty of hiding spots for a dainty wedding ring as any yard does. Knowing that these searches are not always a quick process I wasted no time in getting straight to work clearing areas of interest one after another. After quite a long detailed search process the ring was found in the scariest of places. To think this ring could have been carted off the property for ever. Never a more satisfying feeling than when you recover a precious ring so close to being lost forever! To know we saved another precious wedding ring makes for a great day. The woman was grateful to have received her ring back and I am happy to have been a part of the recovery process. Watch the exciting video to see the detailed search as it progresses and the surprising recovery of this beautiful wedding ring.

LOST CELL PHONE 11 FOUND IN MORRISVILLE, NC…… FOUND!

I got a call from Dashawn today about his lost cell phone on the side of the road, off an exit. I had to hear this story first hand. He proceeded to tell me, while on his motorcycle, his phone was in his left inside pocket at the time. As he exited off the highway the between his speed and the wind it managed to somehow fly out!!! It went to his right side mind you….. He said, « he had find me follow me » but when he went to find his phone with it, his lost phone died. He was able to connect via bluetooth from his helmet before it died too. So we were able to get an approximate location range of where the phone should be laying.

I agreed to meet him at the location. After about 30 mins and about 30-40 feet, TO THE RIGHT, from where he had exited and lost his phone, His phone was found. He was so happy, excited and very grateful to have the old phone back in his hands!

Lost Gold Ring Found In Warren Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Widow’s Gold

Got a call from Patti who said she lost a ring doing the final yard cleanup when the snow started to come down this morning. She didn’t say what kind of ring it was or where it may be. Texting that I had arrived ahead of schedule I got no return text. I did a visual and noticed the front yard was very small and the back contained many metal yard ornaments and quite a few bags of leaves. I knocked on the door with no answer so I figured the best place to start would be the front yard and that it would be best to start before the weather got worse. The sound of crunchy, crusty snow sounded beneath each step and as it scraped under my coil I received many junk metal signals. Dialing up the discrimination silenced the chatter. Completing the left half of the yard revealed nothing. Starting the search on the right half of the yard under a very aromatic spruce tree I worked carefully not to miss any ground. Exiting the canopy I got a very nice signal of an object at 0 depth. Scraping my pin pointer thru the snow it vibrated at the same time this beautiful custom design gold ring came into view! I was confused as the ring resembled more of a man’s band. Still no response from her I took a couple of pics. As I started up the wheelchair ramp she appeared and I was just about to hold the ring up for her to see when she said thru the door she’d be with me in about 5 minutes. She didn’t know that I had already found a ring and when she did come out I ran towards her saying there’s no need to walk further down the slippery ramp and presented the ring to her! I asked if this was the ring and she said yes! Inquiring about the ring she said it was her late husband’s and she would wear it often and when performing the chores that he once did. She was very happy that the ring was found and mentioned that she really didn’t know where it came off and having it back enables her to still connect with him on many different levels for many more years to come.
