I had a young college student contact me about a lost apartment building key. He was outside at a friend’s house and was twirling the key on a lanyard and of course it came off.
I went over this morning and was able to find it in a half hour. He was very happy to have it back, he said I saved him a bunch of money and trouble. I was very happy that I could help him out.

… Steve called me for help finding his Platinum wedding band. Lost in the sand near the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA. He said his friends were coming with a metal detector they purchased from a local sporting goods shop.
I told him that it would be more than an hour till I could meet him on the beach. It would be dark but, if they stayed in the location it shouldn’t take long to find his ring. I only asked if he found it before I got there, please call me. Otherwise I will be there as soon as possible. Los Angeles freeways are unpredictable when it comes to traffic delays.
I arrived at 8pm in the darkness. They showed me where Steve was standing when the ring slipped off his finger. Turn on my detector and take a few swings ,BINGO.. Platinum ring in my sand scoop.
Every one was happy and they all learned that it isn’t easy to work a metal detector they had purchased at the store.
If you lost something of value, I may be able to help you… Call ASAP Anytime.. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136 .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE
I got a message from Eric about a lost ring so I immediately made arrangements to go look for it. It was a tough hunt because like everyone’s yard, it’s full of foil, bits of aluminum cans and pull tabs which all give a very similar signal as a gold ring!!
Here is the story in his own words:
The summer of 2021 the wife was out in the yard playing with our little ones and the local kids during a rain. They was all spinning around and having fun. The wife came into the living room crying because her wedding ring had fallen off and she couldn’t find it. So being the husband I’m trained to be, lol, I went to Dunhams and purchased an $80 metal detector and tried for a few months to find the ring. Well a year later from when she lost the ring, I had to message Steve on Facebook and asked for help. He came out on June 12th and spent a few hours in the yard finding a bunch of stuff. Then I look over and Steve motions me over with a big smile. There it was in the ground. We can’t say thank you enough.
Trevor contacted me about losing a special anniversary ring this past Monday on Robert Crown Memorial Beach in Alameda, California.
It was a Claddagh ring – a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty, and two clasped hands symbolize friendship. The couple each has one.
Trevor worked hard to piece the details of where they were sitting, and approximately how far out in the water they were when it slipped off.
I’m so glad I was able to recover it so it can continue being cherished. Always give it a try – you might have luck on your side! 🍀
