Pocket Knife found in Paw Paw, Michigan

Lost Pocket Knife in Paw Paw, Michigan.
I received a phone call from Larry this afternoon, stating that he lost a pocket knife with a lot of sentimental value. His late wife gave him this knife, so it’s important to him. While trimming his iris flowers as it was getting dark, the knife flew out of his hand and bounced off the neighbors’ wood fence. He couldn’t find it. He looked for it again the next morning and still could not find the knife. So Gregg and I hopped in the car and made the one hour trip to Larry’s log home, which sits at the end of a long driveway and on the bank of a river. You think these gorgeous places only exist on HGTV or in magazines. It took just a few minutes to find the pocket knife, and with a little brushing and polishing he will have the knife back in perfect shape. With the temperature near 90 he offered us a cool-down inside his log house and it was a sight to see with the hand-hewn beams, etc. Afterward we parted ways and headed home with another good deed done for the day.

RIng Found at Oval Beach, Michigan

Laura Did It Again, Oval Beach Michigan:
Laura lives in California but spends the summer months with her mother here in West Michigan. On her 2020 visit she had lost her wedding ring at Oval Beach, and Gregg Larabel and I went to look for it and Gregg found it. Today, Laura called again. Almost 2 years has gone by and she lost the same ring while she and her mother were at the beach. Gregg was tied up, so I made a solo trip to Oval Beach. On arriving at the beach I had no trouble recognizing Laura. She showed me a small area between the walkway to the water and the dune grass where the ring had to be. On my very first sweep through that area I received a good signal near the dune grass edge, and, looking down, I could see a tiny section of the rim of her ring sticking out of the sand. I called Laura over and she also immediately saw her ring. Her first comment was « Oh my gosh, somebody could have seen that ». This is one gorgeous ring folks, and she is so happy to have it back on her finger again. Now she can enjoy the summer with her mother. Final comment I made to Laura: « we have to quit meeting like this! »

… Steve called me for help finding his Platinum wedding band. Lost in the sand near the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA. He said his friends were coming with a metal detector they purchased from a local sporting goods shop.

I told him that it would be more than an hour till I could meet him on the beach. It would be dark but, if they stayed in the location it shouldn’t take long to find his ring. I only asked if he found it before I got there, please call me. Otherwise I will be there as soon as possible. Los Angeles freeways are unpredictable when it comes to traffic delays.

I arrived at 8pm in the darkness. They showed me where Steve was standing when the ring slipped off his finger. Turn on my detector and take a few swings ,BINGO.. Platinum ring in my sand scoop.

Every one was happy and they all learned that it isn’t easy to work a metal detector they had purchased at the store.

If you lost something of value, I may be able to help you… Call ASAP Anytime.. Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136   .. I WILL TRY ANYWHERE

Ring lost a year ago found

  • from Marietta (Ohio, United States)

I got a message from Eric about a lost ring so I immediately made arrangements to go look for it. It was a tough hunt because like everyone’s yard, it’s full of foil, bits of aluminum cans and pull tabs which all give a very similar signal as a gold ring!!

Here is the story in his own words:

The summer of 2021 the wife was out in the yard playing with our little ones and the local kids during a rain. They was all spinning around and having fun. The wife came into the living room crying because her wedding ring had fallen off and she couldn’t find it. So being the husband I’m trained to be, lol, I went to Dunhams and purchased an $80 metal detector and tried for a few months to find the ring. Well a year later from when she lost the ring, I had to message Steve on Facebook and asked for help. He came out on June 12th and spent a few hours in the yard finding a bunch of stuff. Then I look over and Steve motions me over with a big smile. There it was in the ground. We can’t say thank you enough.

Lost Sterling Silver « Claddagh » ring recovered in Alameda, California

  • from Stinson Beach (California, United States)

Trevor contacted me about losing a special anniversary ring this past Monday on Robert Crown Memorial Beach in Alameda, California.

It was a Claddagh ring – a traditional Irish ring in which a heart represents love, the crown stands for loyalty, and two clasped hands symbolize friendship. The couple each has one.

Trevor worked hard to piece the details of where they were sitting, and approximately how far out in the water they were when it slipped off.

I’m so glad I was able to recover it so it can continue being cherished. Always give it a try – you might have luck on your side! 🍀
