Peggy was walking on the beach at dusk in Sea Isle City, NJ on Tuesday when she felt her 18k Gold David Yurman ring fly off her finger. She immediately called her daughter down to the beach to help her look for it, but it was impossible to find. They gave me a call and I met them in the area where it might have dropped. I gridded the area and had to expand the search several times to finally reach the target. I heard a solid tone and knew it had to be the ring. One scoop down the ring found!

Wedding Ring Found on Vermont Ball Field

Got a voicemail last night from a local baseball player who had lost his wedding band a couple days ago during a game. Unfortunately, my new phone wouldn’t let me call him back because during the transfer from the old phone a bunch of functions were lost. We gave up our landline long ago, so I had to drive all over town trying to find a pay phone. I wasn’t able to find one anywhere, how frustrating! Finally, a store worker let me borrow their store phone.

I called him and we met at the baseball field this early morning before the fields became busy. He told me that he and his friends and fellow ball players had spent a long time searching visually for it, with no success. He described what position he was playing, and thought that he may have lost it on the way back to the bench when he took his glove off.

So, I began at the bench and crisscrossed a grid pattern heading out towards where he had been playing. There were tons of pull tab signals near the bench! In about 20 minutes and about 20 feet from the bench I got a great signal. I reached down and poked into the grass and there it was! His theory was 100% correct. He instantly knew it was his because of the jewelers initial inside. He was one happy guy!!

I love these successes!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Punaluu Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a text Monday from John who lives on Oahu with his lovely wife Kiara at the Ko Olina Resort.  In the text John told me that Sunday afternoon while spending time with his wife and in-laws at Punaluu Beach relaxing in the shallow water, he got bumped pretty hard from an incoming swell set and noticed his ring missing after removing his hand from the water.  He immediately told everyone and they commenced a snorkeling search to no avail.  John sent me a google earth pic of the required search area and I went that afternoon.  I started my grid search at the South end and worked North.  Thankfully it was fairly clean and I only found a few fishing weights and can slaw.  As I was nearing the end of the grid thinking this was going to be a bust, I got a nice tone on the Nox and in one scoop there was John’s Platinum Wedding band in the scoop.  I texted him a pic that « I got it » and we agreed to meet at Ko Olina Friday AM for the return.  What a wonderful couple. They were very appreciative and rewarded me handsomely!  Aloha to John & Tiara!

Surf City NJ (LBI) Lost Wedding Ring on the Beach recovered by Edward Trapper NJ Ring Finder August 2022

Got a call from John today. He was at the beach in Surf City NJ (LBI) when his platinum wedding band fell into the sand. He and his wife searched for a while and decided to call in a professional metal detector. He had the spot marked perfectly, and a few swings later I had the ring. WELL, while cleaning off the sand I dropped it and had to find it again. Much to my surprise, it was 7-8″ down. Just shows you how deep they can go.

Lost – 3 Pc Diamond Wedding Band Set, Corolla, OBX, NC – FOUND!!

Around 10:30 on Friday I got a text from a Karen.  She said that she had lost her wedding and anniversary bands on the beach yesterday.  I gave Karen a call and let her know that I would head out right away, but it would take about 30 minutes depending on the traffic in Duck.

When I arrived Karen took me to the beach where I met Chris her husband and they filled me in on the area that they thought they had lost the rings.  It was an area about 20 by 10 yards away from the water, so I thought there would be a great chance that they were still there.  After about 4 passes with the XP Deus II; no luck.

As I normally do, I started asking more questions about if they had gone to the water and the path, they had taken leaving.  She had not gone to the water with the rings on, so I concentrated on the path to the steps which passed through the area of another group.

As I came near the group with seven or eight aluminum chairs, I got a great hit!  It was the first ring.  Karen began to cry.  The second ring was nearby.  But the gold one was still missing.  I covered the entire area to the steps.  On the way back, I prayed.

With nothing else to do and standing on ground that I had already covered, the neighbor group volunteered to move, and I agreed that it would be the next best step.  As they were moving, I looked down.  In the sand was the outline of the edge of a gold ring!!!  Could it be?  It was.  I picked up the ring and shouted, “Stop moving, there’s no need to move!”  When I did, I could hear Karen behind me and the left chuckling.  She had her three rings back!

Lost – Lady’s White Gold Diamond Wedding Band, Outer Banks, OBX, NC – FOUND!!

I couldn’t sleep well Thursday night.  Around 2 a.m. I got up and looked at my phone.  Someone had mentioned me on Facebook.  It was on a lost ring post.  DIAMOND WEDDING BAND LOST.  It even named the town and access point.  I sent a text to the number listed to call me.   No call.

I decided to get up early and go down to the access to see if I could find it.  At around 6 I called the owner but got not answer.  Trying to find a ring on a beach with no information is a daunting task.

I covered all the obvious areas, close to the water, near the steps entering the beach, areas that showed lots of activity and I even found an area that looked like someone had been searching by sweeping their feet.  Just then a man approached me waving his arms and saying, “excuse me.”

“My wife lost her diamond wedding band last night.”  I asked, “Christina?”  He looked and me very strangely and I said her name was in a Facebook post.

He led me over to the area where they had searched by sweeping their feet.  I started with a long sweep parallel to the beach.  On the second sweep, I got a great hit.  I knew it was the ring.  As I handed it to Christina, she began to cry.  Her ring of 20 years was back where it belonged…on her finger!

Recovered Wedding Band at Ocean Grove NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I got a text from Rachel asking for help in finding her husband’s wedding band early last Saturday. While enjoying the day on the beach ( Friday) her husband went in for a dip to cool off and felt his ring slide off his finger, he tried to grab it but it was to late. I headed down to the beach but had no luck finding parking, went back down at 3 o’clock and lucked out with someone leaving so I grabbed their spot. It was already low tide so I got to work but being so hot there were alot of people in the water and it was hard to detect. Figured the only way to look for it was to go down for 3am low tide. Got to beach at 2am and after gridded in the water for an hour and half I found his ring. Living up north I had to do the return the following Friday. They were so grateful to get his ring back.

Emory and his family were in Stone Harbor, NJ. They were sitting on the beach when Emory realized that his wife’s engagement ring was missing from the pouch that it was in for safe keeping. He searched the sand trying to find the ring but couldn’t. That’s when he reached out to me, and I was on my way over shortly after. When speaking with Emory before the search he thought it might have fallen out when he went to get ice cream. The search started where they were sitting. The engagement ring was next to his chair about 5 inches deep in the sand. Emory and his wife were so relieved that the ring was found. The vacation in Stone Harbor, New Jersey could continue!

Silver Irish Claddagh Ring Lost at Will Rogers Beach…Found and Joyfully Returned.

I had just gotten out of bed in the morning when Molly called. She was very concerned about a ring she had lost the night before, and was asking for help. I asked about the beach, and when she told me, I knew it was one that is cleaned meticulously with machines by the county, so I inquired more about the area, and when she told me that she believed it was lost on the slope down to the water it sounded like a good possibility of a recovery. We agreed to meet there when I was able to wake up and get ready.

We arrived very close to the same time, and found each other. When we looked out over the sand it looked like someone had dragged a 2×4 over the sand, it was smoothed out by the machines, all of it. She showed me where she believed the loss occurred, and it was on the slope untouched by the machines. I began my search in a nice tight grid not finding very much except pieces of aluminum cans. I continued on making sure to cover every inch of ground in order to not miss anything. When after about 6 passes, at the top of the slope, not more than 8 inches from where the machines had gone through I received a real nice signal, dug and there it was, the ring Molly had described. If it had been 8 inches further up it likely would have been gone; luck of the Irish maybe. I held it up, and she ran over very emotional at the sight of it again. She told me that when she was 13 her Irish father gave her that ring, and she has worn it everyday since, so losing it left her emotionally drained. But look at that smile, that’s why we do what we do as Ring Finders; AWESOME RIGHT?!

I got a call from Ethan at about 9:00 PM asking for help in finding a pendant that came off a broken chain in the sand at the beach that day. His girlfriend of 2 months studied a semester in Europe, and brought the pendant back for him which made it very special. He and his friends looked and looked, but were unable to find it. This is one of those beaches that are cleaned daily, so I knew that time was going to be the enemy here, so I told him that I would come right out for a search.

I got to the beach, but we were having a difficult time finding each other because Ethan was from out of town and did not know the area well. I ended up getting stuck in the beach sand while looking for him. Ethan then got his friends together and found me, and helped get my truck out of the sand; a new Ring Finders experience for sure. I followed them back to the area of the loss, and Ethan showed what happened showing the area he believed the pendant might be. The search was quit difficult because it was close to one of the fire pits which had a considerable amount of trash metal and iron making it hard to find a good signal. I searched the whole area with one detector, and then switched to another that I believed might work through the trash better. At about 11:00 PM, and after about 5 passes in one of my diggings, way in the back of my scoop I saw something odd shaped and reached in for it. It was the pendant, which I held out for Ethan. Everybody was elated at the sight of the pendant knowing that Ethan was leaving the next day back home with what he held so dear.
