Lost Gold Icebox Wedding Ring at Honu Lagoon Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began Monday afternoon when I got a call from Marcel who lives on Oahu with his lovely wife Taaliah.  While spending the day playing with his daughter on the beach and in the water at Honu Lagoon at some point his stunning Yellow Gold Icebox Wedding band became lost.  Marcel searched the beach but had no luck finding the ring.  He texted me a video and some pics of the search area and the ring.  I decided that since in the water was a possibility, I had to hunt low tide the next afternoon because Honu Lagoon can be a washing machine.  When I arrived the next afternoon and checked in with Aloha Security at the gate the young lady told me a Diamond Ring was found by a jogger at Honu Lagoon that morning and she had the number for me.  Thankfully they answered the call while in route to the North Shore.  I texted them a pic of Marcel’s ring and they confirmed that was the ring they had found.  They returned to the resort at 6PM and left the ring at the Front Desk at the Beach Villas for me to retrieve.  This morning I was able to return the ring to Marcel.  What a truly wonderful couple that were so gracious to me for the recovery.  Angels certainly played a roll in this recovery.  Aloha to Marcel & Taaliah!

Lost Heirloom Gold Wedding Ring at Aulani Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began yesterday when I returned a call to Amanda who was on vacation from Mount Washington, Los Angeles, California and staying at the Aulani Disney resort.  While her husband Michael was entering the water of the lagoon to play with their children his Heirloom Gold Wedding Ring came off in waist deep water and disappeared.  Since it was getting late and the surf was up I agreed to meet Michael & Amanda the next afternoon at low tide.  When I arrived I couldn’t reach them by phone but with the excellent picture they sent I decided to go down and start the hunt in that area.  It actually happened immediately as I entered the waist deep water I got a nice number « 15 » on the Nox and in one scoop there was Michael’s ring in the scoop.  As I was walking up to the cabana chairs I spotted Michael and we waved at each other.  When I got to him he was about to describe the location but I said, « I found it already! »  Michael was like, « Wait, what? »  I said I hope its yours I just have to get it off my finger.  Michael looked in disbelief as I handed it to him and said, « That’s exactly the ring! »  We had a friendly conversation some hugs & pictures and I told them to enjoy the rest of their vacation to the fullest.  They texted me later « Our Ring Hero!!!  Thank you Praying hands!  Love this hobby! Aloha to Michael and Amanda!

Lost mens wedding ring

  • from Lincoln (Nebraska, United States)

I was contacted to help locate a beautiful gold band with diamonds of only 6 months old. They thought for sure it was lost outside the wedding reception venue they were music mc’s at. It was really cold and he took off his gloves to work the key fob. After we talked about some of the events of the evening I detected the outside with no results.  We then went into the building and scanned all the trash bags, no results. We scoped in the cracks of the old barn floor with no results. We continued to rehash the events, finding another area to detect,  no results. We kept talking and discussing things that went on that night.  I told them that I was certain it was not outside or in the building, and the car and bags should be checked, based on him throwing a jacket in there, Boom, success. Because of our team work and relentless search of possible areas the ring was found.

Sentimental Silver Ring Found at San Clemente State Beach, CA. .. by Ringfinder Stan Ross

Pricilla called asking if I could help her find a silver ring that she believed was lost the day before at San Clemente State Beach , CA.  She was at work when she called me and not available to meet me at the location.

It’s always best if the person that lost the ring can meet me at the location but she was able to send me a couple screen shots and photos that were taken to help me get in the general location.

It was not a problem to go search the location without having Pricilla take time off from her work. Traffic was better for me to travel to short after she called.

I arrived at the San Clemente State Park and was  able to avoid paying day parking because I always buy a yearly state beach parking pass. The walk down the hill was the hardest part of the search. Found the silver ring in the dry sand within a half hour of grid searching with my metal detector.

Pricilla met me that evening after work in a public location closer to her home. She was ecstatic and grateful to have this special sentimental keepsake back where it belongs.

Family Heirloom Engagement Ring Recovered in Spring Lake NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I got a text from Tim after he found me doing a Google search asking if I could help in locating his wife’s engagement ring. They weren’t sure if it was lost in their yard or the house but after searching the house they thought it had to be in the back yard. I was off work the next day so we made arrangements to meet in the morning. Tim’s wife was filling up a bird feeder in the back yard when she felt her wedding band slide off her hand. She found it at her feet but a family heirloom engagement ring was missing. They walked around the yard but couldn’t find it. She showed me the path she walked after filling the feeder to where it was hung, then she remembered she stood on the back porch and threw some dog treats to her dog in the yard. I figured that when the ring might of came off. I started a grid of the yard and on the 5th pass right about where the treats would of landed I found her ring shinning in the sun between the blades of grass. ( they didn’t want their picture published and sorry bout the blade of grass in the picture )
She was so happy to get her precious ring back where it belonged. The big smile and hug said it all and made it worth while. Glad I could help.

***Kent parked his camper at Huntington City Beach, CA. . He gave his keys to his girlfriend to use during the day while they were on the beach. Later that day his friend lost the camper keys somewhere between the parking lot and the towel line on the beach.

Although they did not realize when the key fob with keys was dropped. They were positive that the loss occurred where the spent the most time. ( the towel line near the water).

I met Kent and he showed me the exact location where they were. A quick grid of a small area was unsuccessful. He thought it would be impossible for me to cover long distance across the sand to the parking lot. I told him I can give it a try. It was difficult to predict the exact path they walked. I usually do 5 or 7 grid passes for the 100yards.

Towards the end of my grid, Kent came up to see if I had any luck.. He conceded that we had done as much as possible and he was ready to go through the process to have the vehicle towed. I told him, I would finish the last 25 feet as he rode off on his bike.. A few minutes later I found the Mercedes’ key fob. I called him right away. It was a happy reunion with many happy smiles.

Lost gold wedding ring found (for a 2nd time) Granger, Indiana

  • from Granger (Indiana, United States)

9 years ago, in 2013, I recovered this ring for Chris, who had lost it in Donnell Lake (Vandalia, Mi). Since then, he implemented a protocol to always leave it in the lake house prior to heading out on/in the water. The ring is half of a matched set (with his wife’s). Anyhow, he was cleaning up leaves in the yard and at some point noticed his ring went missing. He knew who to call to search for it. I searched most the yard and an area where he said he had lost a gas cap from a blower yesterday, but ended up finding it within the leaves by the street (piled up for the county leaf sucker truck to get). He later recalled flinging some leaves onto a large tarp, which must have sent the ring sailing also. Prior to me going to search, he mentioned being worried maybe he blew the ring away with the leafblower too. I tested that concern with an average weight men’s ring and my extra powerful Stihl 800x blower (had to totally try to move the ring, not a worry, likely different with lighter rings though).
I told him that he’s now in the “twice-found club”, as I’ve recovered another ring twice, years apart, for another guy recently.

Lost White Gold Lapis & Turquoise Wedding Ring at Diamond Head Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began Sunday October 23rd when I got a text from Linda from Oregon who was on vacation on Oahu.  While swimming from Black Point to Diamond Head she lost her precious wedding ring at the ocean’s edge.  She had the exact address of the beach access and sent that to me.  As she was coming ashore a wave hit her and the ring came off in waist deep water.  I told her I would do a hunt Monday morning as the tide was the lowest then and the surf was coming down.  I was able to match the location to the map her brother sent me and I commenced the search.  I found a different ring to start the search and a few pieces of can slaw.  About 20 minutes into the search I got a nice tone on the Nox on the shoreline up slope.  After one scoop there was Linda’s beautiful ring in the scoop.  The tide was coming in so I was thrilled to find the ring when I did.  She texted me today that the ring finally arrived safely in the mail.  Aloha to Linda!

Lost Gold Ring in the Leaves Found in Clinton Township Michigan

Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt…..

….Mark knew his ring came off somewhere in the yard. But as the low sun in the sky moving into autumn casted long shadows amongst the trees, he was having difficulty visually searching for his ring now that the crispy leaves had been bagged. Since he was all over the yard, he felt that his shadow didn’t even know where the ring was. Upon arriving I noticed several packed leaf bags that were ready to burst, which had been previously dumped and searched, so I grid searched the area of the yard where Mark thought the ring came off. I was enjoying the search with my MXT metal detector under the very pretty sky and calm weather here in the Detroit area today. The yard search presented no luck, so we decided to metal detect the leaf bags, scanning the metal detector coil all around each bag. After a few minutes a very faint whisper of a good signal came thru my headphones, so I said let’s dump this bag and search it. Scanning thru the pile the once faint signal suddenly became a YES, I’m the ring you are seeking!….type of signal. Brushing a few of the brown leaves aside revealed Mark’s ring! He came over in disbelief as this bag had been searched. Casting his own shadow while reflecting on the find, he realized that some things can only be seen in the shadows but was happy to move on and leave these shadows behind.

*** Carol had been at a well known Laguna Beach surfing beach with a whole group of friends. She put her ring in a hat that was on her towel. After returning from a swim in the ocean, the hat got picked up and he ring went directly into the sand.

More than 8 or 10 people tried to be the hero by finding the ring. Even thought the ring was dropped in a 4’x4’ area, it couldn’t be found. Finally one of the friends in the group found my contact information on TheRingFinders directory of metal detector volunteers.

I was less than 10 miles from the location. Asking Carol if she could stay at the location as it could make the recovery much quicker, she agreed to wait.

Parking could be time consuming but I was lucky to catch a great parking spot. I love it when traffic and parking go well. Walking down the steps to the beach, Carol was waiting patiently. I didn’t waste time asking too many questions, just turned on the metal detector as she pointed to the spot. The same spot where everyone tried to find her ring by dragging their fingers through the sand.

BINGO !! Two swings of my machine and we had her ring in my sand scoop. She was very surprised and happy to have her special white gold ring back on her finger.
