Nick was horsing around at Huntington State Beach when his ring came off and disappeared into the sand. Luckily someone near by told him about The Ring Finders.

The ring was his late brothers so it was very sentimental. When I arrived there were a few people sifting through the sand hoping it would turn up.

It only took a few minutes of searching to find this very special ring.

Karen was at a small beach in Huntington Harbor when she lost her Cartier Wedding Ring. She tried combing through the sand for a while without any luck.

Another resident helped her by posting her loss on social media and that’s when my friend tagged me on the post and I shared my info so she could reach out to me.

Karen called me a short time later with details about her loss and said she could meet me in an hour. I decided to go and try to find the ring right away without waiting for her.

I got lucky and started in the right place because I found her ring in about 5 minutes. I called her to verify that I had the correct ring. She met me at my house to pick up her ring and let me know how thankful she was.

Engagement Ring Recovered in Belmar NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Sitting home I got a call from Madison. While at the beach she took off her wedding set to put lotion on herself and 2 year old daughter, and put them on her toes thinking they’d be safe. Forgetting they were there she got up to walk her daughter down to the water to put their feet in and cool off. Then she remembered her rings but it was to late. Going back to her towels she found her wedding band next to the towel but not the engagement ring. Took the ride down and luckily it was a week day and was able to park pretty close to the beach. Met Madison and she showed me where she was sitting seeing she moved over a few feet, someone let her use an umbrella to keep her daughter out of sun. Started looking and about 7 feet from where I started I found her ring. A happy ending to a beautiful beach day.

Mariana called me around 6am this morning and stated that she and her husband Erik were  enjoying a fire at the beach the night before.

Mariana put both her wedding and engagement rings in the cup holder of her chair for safe keeping while doing the usual beach activities.

When it was time to leave she picked up her beach chair then remembered her rings were in the cup holder only to find one of them fell out.

The state beach was closing so they had to give up their search. They showed up early the next morning and began searching again when a passerby asked them what they were looking for then forwarded my information to them.

I was able to find her ring amongst all the pieces of foil, pull tabs and bottle caps that are always present near the fire pits.

Thanks to the person who passed my information on to them.

Hector and his wife were enjoying a nice day at the beach when she stood up after placing her rings on her dress. They went airborne and plunged into the soft sand, they searched the small area for 20 minutes but could not locate them. This was a quick recovery, I had both rings out of the sand in about 2 minutes and they were very happy to get the rings back.

United States Naval Academy Ring recovered in Avon NJ by Dennis Burlingame

This one was on me, no email or text. I was detecting 1 am low tide and was in knee to chest deep water when I found a beautiful ring. At first I thought it was a collage ring but after getting home and getting a better look it turn out to be a 1994 United States Naval Academy ring. The name on the inside was pretty worn but with the help of fellow RingFinder Matty St Germain we figured out the first and part of the last name. With the help of google and facebook we figured out who the owner was. First googled The class of 94 of the academy, Found the only Jose. Them went to facebook and found his page, even with a picture of him with the ring on. I sent a message, no reply. Posted on his page, still nothing. Then we turned to the ring itself. Found out the manufacturer who made the rings for the academy for that year and gave them a call to see if they kept any records. Luckily Jose wanted to resize the ring in 2019 and they had a phone number listed for him. I called him up and he couldn’t believe what I was telling him, that I had his ring and wanted to return it. Turns out he was visiting his in laws in Avon and was spending the day on the beach. He went for a swim and with having the ring resized ( a little bigger than he wanted) the ring slipped off his finger. After wearing that ring for 25 years he thought he would never see it again. It took 2 days of google searches but he now has his beloved ring back where it belongs. I knew if was the right thing to do, He worked hard for that ring and our country. A GREAT happy ending and good feeling.

Gold Chain with charms recovered in Ocean Grove by Dennis Burlingame

I got home around 2:45 am from detecting and was checking my email before going to bed and up came a new one from Corey. During the day at the beach he got knocked over but a wave and felt his necklace slide over his head into the ocean. He tried grabbing for it but with no luck, even searched during the day at low tide hoping he’d see it. The chain had a very special charm on it that was his grandfathers, being upset about loosing it he was up late searching google with hopes of finding some answer to finding it. There he found me on RingFinders. Still being up I called him and got the information about what happened and was going to meet him later in the morning. I called a fellow Ringfinder to tell him about it and he said I should go now with the water still low enough to work. I called Corey back and asked if he’d meet me now and he said yes.  Luckily he left a shirt on the beach as a marker in the area he was in and it narrowed the search area down. About 20 minutes or so in waist deep water getting pushed by waves I got a good signal, took me a bit to dig it,the waves would push me off of it but I finally saw his necklace in my scoop. I was kinda mean because I held it in my hand and started out of the water after I got hit by a wave shaking my head saying the waves were to rough but when I got to him I said not rough enough to find it and held it out to him. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He had his grandfathers charm and chain back. Sorry bout the dark pictures but it was 4 o’clock in the morning. Glad to give back, felt great.

18k Diamond white gold stud earring lost on walk to Neighbours home! Milton, ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

A follow Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation 🌸Pink Sista🌸 Jen W of Milton (Campbellville), recommended me to great Friends and neighbours Jennifer and John S!

Jennifer and John had walked down to their neighbours home for a short visit. On the way home Jennifer had felt her diamond earring was loose so she stopped and tightened up the earring back….so she thought.

They walked into their home up into the kitchen and living room to put their feet up to relax. Few minutes later Jennifer felt her ear and found her earring was no longer there. They searched everywhere and back tracked to their neighbours!

Jen W sent me a message to see if it was something I could help with! “Of course I can” on my reply! I proceeded to send a link to my Ring Finders directory information/blog page.

I was on a Ring Finder call out already in Etobicoke and advised when I finished I would be right out!

It was getting dark but that’s a great time to search with the small coil and high powered LED flashlights!! Those diamonds shine bright!

So, tracing Jennifer’s steps… I checked the one small garden, then went up the grassy side of the driveway, and then the roadway side to where her neighbour lives to the location she tightened the earring back! Gridding very slowly with my Equinox800 and small coil while Jen, Jennifer and John had the flashlights out.

With no luck outside, I then proceeded to follow Jennifer’s footsteps inside the home through the garage, staircase, kitchen and living room. NO LUCK either.

We chatted a little more and I suggested that it could be in tires of a passing car or even the garbage truck that had been by that day. I advised that I was more than happy to come back!

I got packed up and left the residence. I decided to put my highbeam lights as there were very little street lights lighting up the roadway. About 60-80 feet past where Jennifer was visiting her neighbour and had fixed the earring back, I spotted something twinkling in the middle of the roadway as I passed over it! I stopped and thought to myself, oh my goodness could that be the earring? I then put my car in reverse, grabbed my iPhone and started videoing. I saw the twinkling and then knew and saw it was the earring!!!

Check out the video;

So excited, I turned around and proceeded back down their driveway in which John came out of the garage. I said “OK, guess what I found laying on the roadway and we are going to go surprise Jennifer! Just tell her I forgot to do the wrap-up video!!”

I WAS EPIC!!! This was my first earring recovery which means a lot to me as earrings and small chains are the hardest things to find!!!

As John and Jennifer knew, I have a “Pay-It-Forward” program that when I find the clients lost item, instead of me receiving a reward I asked the client to pay it forward with an immediate online donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation which helps patients men and women fighting breast cancer with their financial needs such as wigs, medicine, X-rays, daycare, food or rent! The client then receives a tax receipt for the amount!

I was truly overwhelmed by John and Jennifer’s extremely generous donation and truly honoured to complete this most excellent recovery!! I am smiling from ear to ear still on this happy ending!! 🌸💖🌸

WIFE LOSES 18k WHITE GOLD and DIAMOND FILLED ENGAGEMENT RING IN THE SAND AT WASAGA BEACH 1, ON 🇨🇦

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

2nd 🇨🇦 CANADA DAY 🇨🇦 Ring recovery request came in just as I was finishing up the Lake of Bay ring recovery!

Lauren had messaged “Hello. I was pointed in your direction in help of finding my lost white gold and diamond ring. July 1 at Wasaga beach area 1. I took it off momentarily and placed it in my sons cap. He then put it on his head and it fell out in the sand, I realized immediately but was unable to find it. It would be in the stretch of beach you see in the photo below. It could be between the water and approx 3/4 of the way to the sidewalk. It may have even stayed in his hat and fell out but we did not leave this area. Please let me know if you can help“

I message Lauren back that I was just cleaning up from a ring recovery in Muskoka and then I would give her a call.

I left the Muskoka area and called Lauren on the phone to get the details. I was on my way but time was of the essence at Wasaga Beach #1! I was crazy jam packed and the heat was incredible! Lucky to have had free parking for the day and found a spot close by!

Unfortunate, she she did not GPS the location but she did have a photo of where they were sitting! That was a huge help!  When I arrived I FaceTimed Lauren as to the location.

When I was speaking with her, a lady beach goer that was sitting beside Lauren came up to me and said “are you looking for what I’m thinking you’re looking for?” and I said “yes I am and I’m the phone with the owner right now!”

The lady assisted by advising me where Lauren’s beach towels were!

One of the other ladies offered to video as I started my grid search. The second target in under 2 minutes I knew it was something sweet! Solid 6 on the Equinox800 and only 2 inches down! I pulled out my pinpointed and cleared the sand away…exposing the ring!

Check out this video of me finding the ring and then FaceTime in Lauren back!!! PRICELESS!!

I FaceTimed Lauren again and put the ring up to the phone! The tears & screams of joy from Lauren and her husband were heard!

I then made a plan with Lauren to meet her on my way home to return her beautiful engagement ring back to her!

Lauren was aware I have a “pay it forward” program on top of my call out fee. They made an extremely generous donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation which goes to help breast cancer patients with their financial support. (Wigs, medications, taxi, daycare, food, rent, etc) Lauren will then receive a tax receipt for the amount!!

Lauren’s smile says it all!!!

Young lady lost a custom silver ring off the dock into Lake-Of-Bays, Ontario

  • from Brampton (Ontario, Canada)

I received a phone call from Parker asking questions if I am able to come up to Lake-of-Bays near Baysville, Ontario in the Muskoka Lakes region which is beautiful cottage country!!

Parker had tried on her mothers custom silver ring which was custom made in Vancouver by an acclaimed artist. She put the ring in her baseball cap For safe keeping on a table on the dock. Forgetting it was there she put her baseball cap on and heard the ring hit the dock and felt it dropped into the water. There happens to also be a crib of rocks which supports the dock.

I headed up early early Canada Day morning and surprised the roads were not heavily travelled. Saw a doe with her two babies at the side of the road. Prepped and tested my dive gear As it was underneath the dock and about 6 to 8 feet deep in the location of the drop area. I did some searching and the visibility was poor at times after I used up one tank I came out of the water and asked Parker if she actually heard the ring hit the water after hitting the deck which she did hear. She said no, then I suggested we start checking in between the dock boards.

Parker’s Mother let out a loud scream “oh my God, here it is!” Sure enough there was the ring stuck in between the two dock boards underneath a table where Parker’s grandfather sat when I arrived!

Here is a short video;

Asking as many questions as possible is very important to figuring out where the loss item could be! I always learn for every recovery!

Parker and her mother were very happy to see the beautiful custom ring back!! They were very generous in a donation to the Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation! I have a “PAY-IT-FORWARD” campaign which I use my metal/scuba dive detecting hobby to raise money for this wonderful charity in assisting patients financially!!

Thank you very much Parker & Mom for contacting me, for your kind hospitality and for your generous donation!!
