*** A lady named Pin had gone to a company beach party at a Newport Dunes Resort. It was a large group of over one hundred people with catered dinner, music and live entertainment. Most of the venue was set up on the sand.  Pin decided to take off her rose gold and diamond wedding ring set and put them in her basket type bag.

After returning home, she couldn’t find her wedding rings in her purse. She assumed that they may have been pulled out when she was taking things out during her 3 hours on the beach. Then she had the thought that maybe somebody had stolen the rings.

Pin called the main office to ask if anyone had reported wedding rings fo lost and found. One of the people at the office gave her my contact information. Pin called me giving me directions to where they had been during the beach party. She was unable to meet me at the location, so I went to the location of the screen shot map she had marked up.

After a couple hours of grid searching without finding the rings I had to leave because of rain. Early the next morning I returned to finish the search. I wasn’t the ten minutes before I got a great signal that turned up two beautiful rose gold wedding rings.

I texted a photo of the rings to Pin and immediately she called me. She was so excited we couldn’t talk much. She asked if I could hold the rings till for a couple days because they were out of town. No problem, we met the next weekend to return her very special rings.

I can help you or someone you know find their precious lost jewelry.. Just call or text ASAP .. Stan at 949-500-2136 … I will try anywhere

*** I was a very summer day in Southern California and the beaches were packed. Finlay and his family were at Huntington State Beach when he lost his gold wedding band while brushing off sand with his hand. They search a small area for more than an hour before conceding that it was an futile task without the proper equipment.

While scanning the internet for a place to rent or buy a metal detector they found my contact information. He called, I got the location and was on the road. Even though it was less than 5 miles away. The line of cars waiting to get into the State Beach was more than a mile long at all three entrances.

Plan “B” for beach access on days like this is to use my Segway. I found parking a couple miles south and rode the Segway to the location, using the bicycle/ pedestrian path.

We connected by using the cellphone. The search area was small so the recovery was quick. They were a very grateful couple and it was my pleasures to be available to help them. We also have to remember how modern day technologies helped make this possible.

I am ready to help you now with any questions about this service call now I will pick up .. Stan … 949-500-2136.

** Melody had been at Huntington State Beach in Southern California. She had walked down the the surf line to get her feet wet with no intention to go any deeper in the water. As she stood there, she made a slight jester with her hands and her engagement ring flew off her finger into 6 inches of water. The ring disappeared immediately into the wet sand and water as the wave washed down the slope.

Her friend tried to recover the ring for several hours as the tide was coming in. The beach closes at 10 pm which stopped their search that night. Early the next morning Melody went to a sporting goods store to purchase a metal detector. Her parents were going to drive her from San Bernardino, CA. back to Huntington Beach to continue the search. She was devastated because this engagement ring was irreplaceable as the diamond was actually her fiancés’ late grandmother’s.

As they were driving Melody found my information on line. She called and I agreed to meet them at the location. Sometimes these can be a quick recovery. That was not the case this time. She list it a a very high tide in shallower water. We were there at the next lowest tide. Two hours searching a double grid pattern and going way outside the area where they thought the loss occurred no success. I even told her that I had done all I could do for this search . After I finish the last 20’x40’ grid, I would return tomorrow, hoping the next high tide might put the ring within detecting range.

Not five minutes later I got a great signal, which turned out to be Melody’s ring. It was way down the slope and in an area that I thought I had gridded thoroughly. Just a reminder that we are looking for the “ needle in the haystack “ .. Also a reminder that it is possible to miss a target even in a known area of the loss.

Always awesome to help someone like Melody find her very special ring. So far it never gets old.

*** Carol had been at a well known Laguna Beach surfing beach with a whole group of friends. She put her ring in a hat that was on her towel. After returning from a swim in the ocean, the hat got picked up and he ring went directly into the sand.

More than 8 or 10 people tried to be the hero by finding the ring. Even thought the ring was dropped in a 4’x4’ area, it couldn’t be found. Finally one of the friends in the group found my contact information on TheRingFinders directory of metal detector volunteers.

I was less than 10 miles from the location. Asking Carol if she could stay at the location as it could make the recovery much quicker, she agreed to wait.

Parking could be time consuming but I was lucky to catch a great parking spot. I love it when traffic and parking go well. Walking down the steps to the beach, Carol was waiting patiently. I didn’t waste time asking too many questions, just turned on the metal detector as she pointed to the spot. The same spot where everyone tried to find her ring by dragging their fingers through the sand.

BINGO !! Two swings of my machine and we had her ring in my sand scoop. She was very surprised and happy to have her special white gold ring back on her finger.

*** Kurt texted me for help finding his platinum wedding ring lost in the dry sand at a Dana Point, CA. beach. He had been on the beach and placed his platinum wedding band in the pocket of his beach chair. After returning to his hotel room he realized the ring was no longer in the pocket of the chair.

He called me explaining that he could not meet me at the location as he had a 1 pm flight for the east coast. He was able to give me verbal directions and I was at the location early that morning.

This beach had recently had super high tides and there were very few dry sand areas to set up. Kurt had sent me a google earth screen shot photo that showed a home in the background with a red roof.

Perfect directions as it only took a few swings of my metal detector and I had his ring safe in my scoop. I figured this return would involve sending the ring in the mail which is always a worry for me, because I know things get lost in the mail..

I called Kurt with the good news, then to my surprise he said he was close enough to meet me in 15 minutes. Perfect, I don’t need to worry for 3 or 4 days about the mail getting lost. We met at the parking lot after I walked up the long stairway. It was another special reunion of a very sentimental original wedding ring that he had worn for many years..

*** Lydia and  her husband are here in Newport Beach on Vacation. They will be returning to Colorado in a couple days. She lost a very small thin white gold and rose gold wedding ring in the sand.

While they were searching the sand, when person saw them desperately searching the sand. They told her about the Ringfinders metal detector directory. After searching the internet, Lydia contacted me. I explained how the service works and she said they would wait for me on the beach.

I arrived soon at their location, after agreeing to help them. As I was setting up my metal detector, I gave them a short explanation on how the detector works. Then I started a grid pattern, slowly sweeping my search coil. I knew it was a small thin gold ring, so it required setting up my sensitivity as high as possible. Not long after starting I got  a whisper of a signal in my earphones. A quick dig with my sand scoop revealed a thin two colored ring just like Lydia described.

They were very surprised and happy to have this special ring back where it belongs. Another successful recovery for two very special people to remember as part of their vacation to Newport Beach, CA.

*** Mindy’s friend dropped his gold wedding band in the dry sand at Crystal Cove State Beach, CA.  They tried to find it for over an hour. A passerby told her about the Ringfinders directory. After doing a google search she called me.

Crystal Cove is a short drive from where I live. I met her on the beach shortly after talking to her. Most the conversation was explaining how the metal detecting service works. Assuring her I could find the ring if they could stay at the general location.

We met on the beach and I found the ring after just a few swings of the metal detector. It’s not just a metal detector, it’s a state of the art detector that is able to work in highly mineralized beach sand and salt water to depths of 60 ft.

They were very happy to have the sentimental gold ring returned after I seemed impossible to find before they had to return home. Not all beach searches are easy because many people don’t feel the ring slip off their fingers. Sometimes people leave the beach before discovering the ring is missing. Then if they are able to return to the beach , they can’t find the location.

Mindy and her friends were amazed at how fast the ring was found, they had no idea how effective a professional type metal detector was to find a small gold ring.

*** Jesse and his wife spent the day at Belmont Shores, Long Beach, CA. They were watching a volleyball tournament when his wife removed her wedding ring because it was a little uncomfortable. Before she could put in a safe place, she dropped it in the soft dry sand. A long search was unsuccessful.

Two days later he found me on a google search. When he talked to me I was driving home from the west side of Los Angeles. My detectors were in the car so I was available to meet Jesse at the volleyball courts soon after discussing the location and how the loss occurred.

We both pulled up in the parking area and the volleyball court was only 50ft from where he parked. Even though it had been a couple days since the ring was dropped it showed up in my scoop after a few swings of the metal detector. It’s always easier to find a lost metal item if the person can put me in the general area. It’s not always possible for people to meet me at the location but with the help of photos, gps pin markers, google earth screen shots, and other landmarks we can conduct searches.

It’s always special to see the surprised look on a person’s face when they see a sentimental ring or piece of jewelry come out of the sand when they had spent so much time looking for it..

*** I received a call from Izzy’s mother asking if I was available to help her daughter find a hierloom ring that was past down to her from her grandmother. Izzy’s mom said her daughter was on the beach now and was very upset as this ring meant the world to her.

I was able to leave right away. We met on the beach a half hour later. Izzy’s mother also drove to the location. We set up my detector and began a grid search. A few minutes into the search we had the ring in the sand scoop.

It was a successful recovery because they didn’t waste time trying to rent or use a loner detector to search it theirselves. It was my pleasure to be available to help them find the very sentimental ring. The internet and mobile phones  has to be given credit for this recovery. Years ago you would have to try to find a metal detector service in the phone book.

*** John had been at Newport Beach, CA. with his family. During their stay in a highly populated area of the beach, John was playing chase on the dry sand when she pulled his wedding ring off his finger. They spent the rest of the afternoon trying to find the ring in the sand.

John called me the next morning, asking for help. After hearing his story, I had to tell him that the towel line is going to be a challenge as the beach cleaning machines work this part of the beach every day. Then I told him my car was in the shop. He volunteered to pick me up and drive me to the location. That was a first for me.

John picked me up a half hour later and we headed for the beach which was only 4 miles away. When we got to the location it was 10am and beach goers were beginning to set up for the day. Right away I could see the beach king sifting machine had not worked the towel line. Now John had to show me a fairly large area of the sand to search. I asked him to see if he recognized anything on the beach that could narrow the search area.

Then I picked a probable place to set up my grid pattern. I went in a straight line for 20ft. and the miracle happened, first signal was John’s gold wedding ring. He was amazed that we were able to find it so fast. He knew he had not given me a small search area. After many searches, some of them hours and days, I do appreciate the fast recoveries.

I had the pleasure to help a very nice guy and it wouldn’t have been possible with out John volunteering to pick me up, driving me to the beach.
