Lost wedding ring in La Jolla Found

Mike was playing with his dogs in his yard when, after making a sweeping motion with his hand, his wedding ring flew off. After searching the area visually, then raking and looking again, he bought a metal detector to find it. After that failed to produce the ring, he gave me a call. The search area wasn’t particularly large, but, it had lots of trees, bushes, plants, grass, etc. It wasn’t even all that junky. Just a few ferrous and non-ferrous targets to investigate, but, after an hour and a half of changing coils, gridding and regridding, still no ring. I had Mike take my test ring and re-enact his motions. I even did it myself with the same general results. The ring should be in about a 10 foot square area. I went back over that area for the umpteenth time and found the same iron remnants of an old fence post that had been blasting my ears, but, this time after hitting it at a slightly different angle, I heard and extra little non-ferrous blip with my trusty E-trac. After scrapping away some leaves and running my pin pointer over the area, I found the target that had eluded us. It turns out that it had landed right on top of the old fence post base. That’s what was masking the ring signal. All good in the end. Mike was very happy, as was I. Pleasure to meet you Mike and thank you for the reward.100_1403 100_1404

Ring Lost at Trapeze School .. Santa Monica, CA. .. Found Under Pier

Friday night Philip had been attending a session at a Trapeze School of New York located on the Santa Monica Pier. They have a place to put their street shoes and valuables. Unfortunately, when Philip retrieved his ring from his shoe, where he had put it while training on the trapeze, he dropped his palladium wedding ring on the wooden pier. It bounced and rolled right through a crack in the planking dropping 25 feet to the dry sand below the pier.
The city beach maintenance department attempted the look for the ring the next day, thinking it may have landed one of the maintenance catwalks or hung up in the netting used to control pigeons nesting under the pier. After not finding the ring the city crew suggested Philip Google search TheRingFinders.com online.
Philip contacted me explaining what happened and that he would not be available to meet me at the location, but he would be able talk to me on the phone if I had any other questions. I called him as I got close to where I thought he first described to me. He talked me into finding the location of the Trapeze school. They showed me where the ring had fallen through the pier. This pier is probably 300 ft wide and I had to take some reference points, hoping get near the exact location under the pier.
It was dark and spooky under the pier, definitely a place not to be at night. There was a lot of electrical interference with my metal detector, but I was able to tune most of that out with a few adjustments. Twenty minutes of searching was all it took to find the ring.
I sent Philip a photo of his ring and I was able to return the ring an hour later. It was great to see how happy he was to get his ring back where it belongs.

Metal Detecting Service – Men’s Platinum Wedding Band – Newtown, CT

A recent call from Newtown sparked a sunrise trip across the state of Connecticut. Once I arrived, a family member walked me around the property discussing all the potential places the lost ring could be hiding. On this particular search, it was entirely unknown if the ring was outdoors, but after searching in multiple locations, the ring turned up in a grassy area where the gentleman and his kids played. Another opportunity to reunite a person with a sentimental possession!

Most searches fall into one or two categories. Either you know where the wedding band is lost, or you don’t. This success story is an example of why you shouldn’t give up hope on any lost possessions, even if you have no idea where they may be. Lost Wedding Band in Lafayette Louisiana – Found

We received a call from Kevin on January 3, 2016, Sunday evening. He had lost his wedding ring while taking Christmas lights down. The ring was very large and has 5 diamonds in it. Kevin was upset about the loss, but even more so because the diamonds were from him Mom. Kevin lives only about 6 miles away, but it was late so we made plans for Monday morning. Sid and Kevin both had to work, but Carrie met up with Kevin’s wife Kathryn to start the hunt. Kathryn showed me where the lights had been and the area where Kevin had rolled up and boxed the lights. Kevin had also blown the leaves in the yard and around the sidewalk and driveway area. The search area may need to be expanded. Our son James was off work so he said he would help. James has never used a metal detector before. After talking with Kathryn, I set James up with Sid’s detector and pin pointer to work around the driveway area. I went hunt in the front yard. I was checking the flower bed around where the lights had been in the bushes, but decided to check the yard area where he rolled up the lights first. Then would come back to the flower beds. Well, I turned around, took about one step and there I heard it, the sound of gold! I looked down and there it was laying on top of the grass, in plain sight. Only took a couple of minutes to end the search. I knocked on the door, and needless to say Kathryn was shocked that it was found so quickly!

Lost diamond ring in Emigration Canyon: Found

Molly had been engaged for exactly one week when she lost her beautiful 1.5 carat diamond solitaire platinum engagement ring while sledding in Emigration Canyon, above Salt Lake City. She hit a bump, broke her sled, and then lost her glove while sliding through the snow. When she reached the bottom of the hill, her precious ring was gone. Of course, she was devastated. She and her family searched for the ring, but couldn’t find it. After a sleepless night, she found TheRingFinders.com, and called me. She had to fly home the next day, but I was able to meet with her brother, who showed me where they thought the ring was lost. After about an hour of searching, we found the ring about 4 inches down in the packed snow. The family was so excited and relieved to have the beautiful diamond ring back.

Lost House Key – Found, Myrtle Beach, SC

I received a forwarded text message through my daughter at about 8:30pm Christmas Eve from her friend Tiffany asking if I could help her friend Mistie find a lost house key. In the text was Mistie’s phone number so I called her. Mistie told me she was a pet sitter and had just taken care of one of her client’s pet and on her way to her car dropped the owner’s house key in the thick grass.

I arrived and met Mistie at the gated community about 45 minutes later and followed her to the house. She showed me the approximate location of where she thought the key was and about 5 swings and a minute later I had a good solid 65 on my AT Pro. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my pin pointer so I was sitting on the sidewalk feeling through the thick grass and found the key about 5 inches off the sidewalk.

Mistie was so relieved and excited to call the owners, who were on vacation in Atlanta, GA, to let them know their key had been found.

Lost Gold Ring Near Strathcona Farmers Market Edmonton, Alberta

Michael  called me this morning to see if I would be available to help him find his lost gold ring. It belonged to his father and was of huge sentimental value to him. I told him I would be there in forty five minutes.

Michael had been checking his parking meter to see how much time he had left, lost his balance, and felt the ring fly off his finger but had no idea in which direction it had gone.  He thought it ended up on the Church property and had spent a couple of hours with his friends looking for it with no luck.  He had even had the Edmonton Police with a hand held detector looking for him.

I did a quick search of the area but did not find the ring so I decided to check the street.  With all the traffic, I had to dodge cars, and I felt my chances were slim that I would find it.  I did detect a tone, which  turned out to be a pop can.  I swung my coil again and only inches away from the pop can I heard the same tone again. Packed in about 2 inches of snow was the ring in perfect condition.  Considering that he had lost the ring 3 days prior, and all the traffic on that street, he was very, very fortunate.

Lost White Gold Wedding Band On The Anthony Henday Drive Edmonton Alberta.

Received a call from Kerry around 8:15 last evening wondering if it was possible for me to find his Lost Ring on the side of the Highway. He had marked the area he was stopped at good thinking Kerry. (makes my Job a lot easer when that happens)   He told me how he lost the ring he was helping a friend move some boxes to a storage locker one of the boxes fell off the truck and ended on the highway so he stopped picked the box up and place it in the truck then he removed his glove to check the rest of the boxes that’s when he felt his ring fell off his finger and ended in the ditch he spent a while looking for it before he called me .

I meet up with Kerry this morning around 8:10 am at the location – 13C (8.0) Fahrenheit  and 6 inches of snow It took me a couple of minutes to find his ring which made him a very happy man.

Once again another happy Client and thank you Kerry for the generous reward.

Newlyweds’ Lost Wedding Ring FOUND at the Hilton Hotel, Big Island, Hawaii

Van and Ellie called us with bad news and good news.

The bad news was that Van had been swimming in the Hilton hotel’s lagoon in Waikoloa and lost his new wedding ring! He’d put sunscreen on and within minutes of getting in, felt it fly off as he moved his hand through the water. The good news was that since he had felt it slip off – he’d marked the precise location, time and depth before calling us.

There were no waves in the lagoon, the deepest part of the lagoon was shoulder depth and within a controlled space (as opposed to a public one – so someone who may have seen them searching couldn’t return and keep Van’s ring if found).

We met them at the entrance to the main lobby where the hotel had also arranged security to log us in and bring us to the lagoon. We were relieved for the buggy ride as the hotel grounds are huge and we’d brought two underwater detectors as well as light scuba gear in case…

Van climbed over the rocks and went into the water with me while Sylvie gave me (and Van’s wife Ellie) moral support from the nearby shore. Sylvie didn’t get in as I thought it would be a quick find – since everything was going in our favor – it was almost an « ideal » location.

One and a half hours later, I was starting to worry… We’d gone over-and-over the square he’d marked the moment his ring was lost. I continued to expand the search at every pass. Sylvie called over, « Should I gear up and bring in the Sea Hunter? » We use the pulse induction Garrett Sea Hunter MkII with a big coil in clean sandy-bottomed areas.

« I think so… » I replied not sure how I – or my Minelab Excalibur could have missed the ring. I was getting cold  and frustrated that something seemingly so right had gone so wrong.

Just as Sylvie started walking over to get the other detector I suddenly heard the loud clear tone that tungsten makes in my headphones. « Cancel that! » I yelled over to Sylvie. Van looked up. He was holding the Go Pro and started filming. I stuck my head in the water, scooped and looked into the basket. « Does it look something like this?! » I asked, picking the ring out of the mud and stones.

Van and Ellie were so relieved to have their precious ring found!

And so were we – Phew!

Crystal beach ring recovered after 4 years

What a great story, a nice guy named Gary gave me a call who had lost a « Very » sentimental ring in his front yard 4 years ago. Gary purchased another similar ring a few year later but in his own words  » never quite fit like the original » ! He had placed his original College ring in his pocket while gardening and after a while forgot it was there. He started putting unneeded stones and debris in his pocket for lack of a better spot. When he was finished the job decided to reach in and cast it all away . He watched his ring in slow motion flying through the air and off into the grass. With the help from his wife and neighbors they tried to find the beautiful ring but11137095_1628121604131353_5417829166018249126_n unsuccessfully. 4 years later Gary asked me to give it a shot and sure enough after about 2 minutes I got a beautiful silver signal.
