On June 3rd I get a phone call from Joe who is out of town on vacation letting me know that there is a Mr. Muto who is searching the beach in Ko’olina for his Wife’s wedding ring. I gather the information from Joe and give Mr. Muto a call in which i reassure Mr. Muto that i will be heading out and to mark off the area in which he thinks it might be. I arrive at Ko’olina and meet up with Mr Muto which i start looking for the ring. I come across coins, rubbish,  until i hear a loud gold tone. I dig the site and inside the Xtreme scoop is a beautiful Tiffany and Co. Diamond ring. I look towards Mr. Muto and ask him what the ring looks like and He say « Tiffany » and right away I let him know of the great news… I FOUND IT! I returned it to Mr. Muto and we both leave the beach with this overwhelming joy that washed over us with relief and satisfaction.

The next day I receive a call from Mr. Mutos wife letting me know that there is another ring lost. I let her know that i will give her a call later that night and need to check. I call the Muto’s that evening and let them know I have a Cartier diamond wedding band.  They ended up driving to my house and we were able to reunite the last of the lost rings! What started out as a single ring find ended up being a double and both were recovered and returned to the rightful owner. Mahalo Joe Another Happy ending! Aloha is ALIVE!

I received a call this morning from Tyler requesting my service to locate his wife’s wedding/engagement ring that was lost earlier this morning along the highway. After asking Tyler a few questions I agreed to meet up with him.  Again I questioned Tyler as to the possible location of the ring.  I was about to remove my equipment from my vehicle  when I heard Tyler  saying « that’s my Ring! » It was laying right next to my back wheel. Another few centimeters and I would have driven over it.  I couldn’t believe it! I told Tyler that it was his lucky day and to go buy himself a Lottery Ticket.

Thank you Tyler for entrusting me to help you locate you wife’s ring.

Wedding Ring Lost in Grass in Santa Monica, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

Monday afternoon Antwon called explaining how he had lost his wedding ring after having removed it from his finger for a couple of minutes. Apparently it is a bit tight, so for a little relief he figured he would remove it and then put it back on when his finger felt better. The problem was that after he removed the ring it dropped into a patch of very tall and thick grass. I let him know I was on my way.

When I got there Antwon informed me that he had been there for 3 hours looking for the ring. He showed me the area, and I knew this would be a quick search. I turned on the detector, took a few swings, got the signal, put the pin pointer in, and had the ring in hand. Antwon looked more relieved than happy, but I could see the joy restored. Then I asked how long he had been married, and he said 3 days, so I understood. Glad to have been able to make his day. I know he slept well that night!

Engagement Ring Lost for 3 Weeks in Simi Valley, CA…Found and Joyously Returned.

Leah contacted me last Saturday explaining how she had lost her 2 rings (An engagement ring, and wedding band) 3 weeks ago in a school soccer field, and was wondering if I could help. It wasn’t sounding too hopeful, but I felt she needed closure, so I agreed to meet her for the search. With that much time having gone by, there were so many possibilities for the rings not to be there, but sometimes you never know. She was pretty certain that the field is where the loss occurred after reviewing pictures from the event she was at there.

We met at the school, fortunately now out of session to perform the search. Leah took me to the field, and there weren’t too many areas where the ring could have hidden, but the places she had been had some nice tall grass, and weed patches. I began my search, and then Leah showed me another area she had been that looked more promising, so I changed my search area. Leah and her friend were doing a visual search of their own while I worked. There was a lot of metal in the ground, most of it too deep to find, but causing me to stop and check very often. Finally in one of the larger weed patches, after getting a solid signal, I put in the pin pointer to locate the origin of the signal, and spotted her engagement ring, a large diamond solitaire. I then lifted it and held it out for her to see. She then came running over, looked at the ring, and said « My ring, this my ring » with a tone of disbelief, I am sure thinking it would never be found. I then focused my search on her wedding band, going over all the areas she had been, and expanded out from there, but was unable to find it. It could have fallen in an area that was exposed to others to see, and might have been picked up; 3 weeks is a long time. It was great to have found Leah’s engagement ring. She got it for her 10th wedding anniversary last year, and was heartbroken to have lost it. I was so glad to bring her smile back.

A Seagull’s Misadventure: Recovering a Lost Wedding Ring at Ventura Pier

Early morning brought an urgent text from Jason, seeking aid in the search for his lost wedding ring near the north side of the Ventura Pier. With summer break granting me the freedom to assist, I swiftly arranged to meet him at the swings within half an hour.

Upon arrival, Jason recounted the unfortunate tale of his ring’s disappearance. During a seaside outing with his young son, he had removed his ring to apply sunscreen, placing it on his son’s shirt. In a twist of fate, a squadron of seagulls, hungry for a snack, swooped down and snatched the shirt—with the ring still attached—before soaring off into the sky. Amidst the chaos, panic ensued, and the search was abruptly halted to tend to his unsettled son.

With a determined spirit, we identified a probable search area and delineated a 20’x20′ grid in the sand. Armed with my trusty Equinox metal detector, I commenced the hunt. Within moments, a clear signal reverberated through the air, guiding me to the elusive treasure buried beneath the sand. With a deft scoop, Jason’s rose gold wedding ring emerged, casting a radiant gleam in the morning light.

Lost wedding ring in the springs, Longwood, Florida…..Found and Returned!

While he was coming back up to get air, he pushed off a rock and his wedding ring slipped right off his finger. Panic mode took full force! Lost wedding ring, Longwood, Florida…..Found and Returned!

Sunday evening Morgan was on her back porch and threw a ball out the door and into the yard for her dog to fetch. But not all dogs have learned the fine art of fetch and retrieve. As is the case with Morgan’s dog! So Morgan and her young son ran out to help demonstrate the skill of fetching a ball when thrown. They played with the dog for awhile in the yard and then retreated inside to the cool air conditioning. An hour or so passed before Morgan noticed that her diamond engagement ring and her wedding ring were not on her finger, where she has worn them for the last 7 years! A bit of panic set in and she began thinking of where they could be and remembered throwing the ball for her dog and being as she throws with her left hand, it made sense that her rings could very easily have slipped off at that time. And sure enough there in the yard, close to where the ball had landed, she found her diamond engagement ring in the grass. So she continued looking for her wedding ring but could not seem to find it. As she contemplated what to do next, Morgan thought about buying or renting a metal detector and decided to purchase a cheap detector at the local sporting goods store. On her way to the store she remembered seeing theringfinders.com web site and thought of giving me a call to see if I could help her. I assured Morgan that there was a very good chance of finding her lost wedding ring and we made arrangements to meet the next day. It was interesting that Morgan thought she had not thrown the ball very hard, maybe 10 to 15 feet, as the ball only landed a short distance from the back door and her diamond engagement ring was found very close. So I searched high and low, in the bushes, under the bushes and rechecked all signals carefully to be sure a large deep signal was not masking her ring…but I could not find it! An hour passed and Morgan’s husband came out to see how I was progressing and he offered to trim two sago palms that were at least 30 feet from the back door. It was an excellent idea, because there at the base of the first prickly sago plant, down in the leaves was Morgan’s beautiful lost wedding ring! It was a tear jerking moment for all of us when we showed Morgan her ring and even her little son kept saying, « Mommy is crying! » And we all assured him those were tears of JOY! Lost your ring? Diamond Engagement and Gold Wedding Band Set Lost for Six Months in Long Grove, IA…Found

Patricia was doing some late season gardening in October 2017. The temperatures here in the Midwest were average for October, meaning it was cool, but not yet considered cold, and a little breezy.  Patricia had been prepping all of her flower gardens for the winter season by raking and bagging up the flowers and plants that were dying back from the end of the season.  During the process of raking, bagging, and the wind blowing her hair in her face, Patricia removed her gloves frequently to brush her hair out of her face and then continue on with her gardening.

It wasn’t until Patricia was done with her work and she was inside cleaning up that she noticed her wedding band set was no longer on her finger. She believes the temperature was just cool enough that the ring came off of her finger during one of the many times that she removed her gloves.  She did not expect to ever see her rings again.

Fast-forward to April of 2018. Patricia’s rings have been missing for over six months.  She was certain that her rings were not in the lawn bags as she had dumped them out one-by-one in October and thoroughly searched the contents.  This gave me confidence that her rings were still somewhere in her yard.  Beginning at about 10:00AM I searched each of Patricia’s flower beds and then I began a grid search of the back yard.

Just before noon I had covered approximately half of the back yard when I got a good “gold” tone on my metal detector. After pinpointing on the signal I looked beneath the search coil and I could see a little shiny object deep in the grass.  I reached down to pick the object up and it was Patricia’s rings.  When I showed the rings to her she cried, she smiled, and she was speechless.  It was an overflow of emotions in one instance.  Just seeing how happy she was made the hunt for her rings that much more rewarding.

I’m a couple of months late posting this story, but I wanted to share this wonderful event.

Engagement Ring Lost on Los Angeles Street…Found and Happily Returned.

Michelle called yesterday. She believed she had lost her engagement ring while walking down the street swatting at some leaves that were extending into the sidewalk. It was the only likely area, because it was the only area with a lot of vegetation, and with her hand motions combined, sounded like the ideal situation. We agreed to meet this morning to do the search.

I got to the spot and contacted Michelle to let her know I had arrived. She immediately came over and took me to the area of the possible loss. It definitely looked at though it could have swallowed her ring. There was a lot of over and under growth as well as dead leaves to hide her ring. I then asked her to recreate what she did the night before which showed me where her ring could have flown to. I began where she had started swatting the leaves finding numerous items of metal, many good signals but mostly foil, but no ring. At the very end of the bushes I received another good signal, and putting in my pin pointer to find the item, and moving the leaves around, there it was, Michelle’s ring which I promptly held up for her. She was so surprised and elated, but with a bit of disbelief not thinking it could have been found. She had received this ring from her fiancé while she was still in school waiting for graduation to get married. She had just recently graduated, and was looking forward to arranging the wedding when this loss occurred. It’s so great to restore the joy to people who lose it so quickly.

Ring lost at Mission Beach found

Eric realized he shouldn’t play around in the sand with his wedding ring on, so, he thought it wiser to take it off and let someone else hold on to it until he was done. Little did he know that the person he handed it to would be the one to lose it in the sand. They knew approximately where it should be, but, sifting through the sand with their fingers and even borrowing a metal detector from the lifeguards didn’t help bring it to light. Off to the internet and a hit on TheRingFinders.com website. A quick look at the map and my name is listed for Mission Beach. I get the call about 8:15pm and arrange to meet Eric at 8:45pm at the site. We meet and I get the low down on how/where it was lost and what we’re looking for. On my first pass and only a couple of minutes later, I get a promising signal. Yup, it’s what we’re looking for. Both Eric and his friend are happy and relieved to get the ring back. Pleasure to meet you both and thank you for the reward.
