LOST GOLD RING OFF DOCK IN LITTLETON, NC………. FOUND!!!!!!!

After my last (silver) ring recovery in Mooresville, NC. I had a call that a man had lost his gold wedding ring in about 8-9 feet of water off the dock on Lake Gaston. He said he was trying to reach for a pool noodle when the ring just slid off into the water. I drove 3 hours to Lake Gaston and wasn’t able to retrieve it that night due to the dark and the storms that had just come through.

The next morning, I get up and make my way to their lake house again. This time the conditions were much better. I was able to get on the bottom and make my way towards where he had lost the ring. 3-5 targets later and I had his GOLD ring in hand. It took me about 15 mins to find the right spot he had lost it in.

I love this hobby that allows me to meet and help so many people out!

LOST SILVER RING IN MOORESVILLE, NC…….. FOUND!!!

I received a call from a lady, that a lady at the Lake Norman Yacht Club had a young lady loss a silver ring that meant a lot to her. She lost it during a water balloons fight. I met the 2nd lady at the gate, parked, unloaded my detector. We made our way to the back of the event area where the lady proceeded to tell me where the young lady had lost it. Two targets later and it was found!

The young lady wasn’t there at the time, she had jumped on a boat ride. I met her dad, and he texted the photo of the ring to her, and she confirmed it was her lost ring.

Howes Beach sandbar swallows up Gold/Platinum Band

Got a phone call from Gail last evening. She said they were at the beach and her son in law had lost his wedding band in the water.  She asked for help in trying to find it.  Rick & I both agreed that today would be better because low tide exposed the area in question.
I met Rick at his place then off to the beach where we were to meet Gail and her daughter Leah. They were already out in the sand area eagerly waiting for us.
we introduced ourselves and I asked both of them to stand where each of them thought it may be buried.  Well after about an hour of walking the grid pattern I noticed Rick talking with two woman.  I continued to search closer to the beach and about 175 away from them when I finally got a nice loud tone on my MineLab xcal II only six inches down and out onto the sand a Beautiful wedding band staring back at me.
I called Leah and her mom over to witness it in the scoop.  Both of them were so happy and tears of joy flowing.  They both Hugged me and thanked me so much for what we do.  We shared some pictures and a few stories.  Corey is Leah’s husband who was FaceTimed by Gail was extremely surprised when we showed him the ring.  Another happy story to share.

LOST GOLD RING IN CARY, NC………… FOUND!!!!

Met a guy that came to my house to inspect our Crawlspace and we got to talking about metal detecting after he saw my office.
He said an elderly lady had lost a ring in her yard while doing yard work (2 years prior) and wanted to reach out to her to see if she’d allow me to come and try and find it.
Well today was the day. I got off work and shot straight to her house and met Brian there too.
I walked back to the back yard with them, and it was very overgrown with ivy. She had a small area cleaned out and that was the area she had lost the ring.
I go to get my machine, turn it on and walk back to the area. I swing 4 swings LEFT RIGHT LEFT, RIGHT!!! Wait what was that to my RIGHT? VDI 64 first single BOOM found her ring! It wasn’t that deep at all!
She was beyond overjoyed and crying after I found it!

2-Year Miracle – Men’s Gold Wedding Ring Returned to Owner, Falmouth, MA

Sometimes miracles do happen!  I was alerted by my daughter about a lost-ring post on the Fabulous Falmouth Facebook page.  Allie posted a picture of a wedding ring that her husband Michael lost 2 years ago on Woodneck Beach in Falmouth, in hopes that someone would find and return it.  The ring had been lost only a week after they were married.  Allie’s picture showed a fairly unique ring style that seemed familiar, so I looked through rings I’d recovered while metal detecting in the past and sure enough, the style, the place, and the date of loss all matched up with a ring I’d found.

Allie and I made contact and we agreed to meet at the beach in the evening so I could return the ring to Michael.  We met and enjoyed a great conversation and celebration – what a nice couple!  I learned that they had never replaced Michael’s ring, though they’d tried, because it just didn’t feel right.  So it was a real delight to be able to return the ring and see it on Michael’s finger where it belonged.  Michael said he will get the ring re-sized to assure that this saga will not be repeated.  Another success story for the Ring Finders, even though with a 2-year delay!

Lost earring on the beach…found with metal detector

Successful Search & Recovery of Men’s Platinum Wedding Ring, Falmouth Heights Beach, Falmouth, MA

I received a call this morning from Corey, from his home in Boston.  Yesterday, while playing spike ball and enjoying the beach in the hot, humid weather, his platinum wedding band went astray from his pocket where he’d placed it for safekeeping.  His friends found the Ring Finders on the web and told Corey to give me a call to see if I could search for the ring.  I made it to the beach about a half hour after the call and began a search pattern in the area that Corey had described over the phone.  The description was not very precise, so after searching for 45 minutes I called a number that he’d provided for a friend who’d been with them the previous day.  The friend showed up and after some discussion we identified an area another 100-150 feet down the beach where it looked like there had been some heavy activity, likely from a spike ball game.  Sure enough, it did not take a long search before I came across the sweet signal expected from a platinum band and scooped up Corey’s ring.  I made a call to Corey and dropped the ring off at the friend’s house, so it will assuredly will find its way back home ere long.  A big thanks to Corey’s friends for searching out the Ring Finders and especially to Corey for giving me the opportunity to look for this precious item!

Lost Earring in Maple Shade Found by Dave Milsted

They used to call me MacGyver, and I earned that title today.
I received a text message late yesterday asking if I could search for a lost earring. The only problem is it was in a car. I told them that a metal detector would be useless in a car. It would be a visual search. They were okay with that, and we scheduled a visit for late afternoon today.
I arrived, and he showed me the car. He turned the car on for our search because the temperature was over 90 degrees. I brought my snake video camera unit. An excellent tool for searches in tight areas. They are 100% positive that it is in the car. His wife was a front-seat passenger and had her earring on her lap. They hit a bump, and it fell between the seat and the center console.
I started searching in the typical places it would have gone. No luck. There are 2 openings in the carpet under the seat. The 1st hole was not hiding a secret. After about an hour, I started to search the 2nd hole, which was some kind of vent. I searched in there, and there it was. Not easy to get as it was around a bend. This was not going to be easy to remove.
I tried a very long skinny 10-inch screwdriver. It wasn’t long enough. A portable vacuum wouldn’t work, either. Putting on my MacGyver hat. I have a couple of marking flags with 24-inch bendable, narrow stems. I took needle nose pliers and bent the end into a hook. While watching on the camera, I fished the hook to the earring. I was able to snag it after a few attempts. I slowly pulled it to the opening, and it fell down under the vent. More searching with the camera and we saw it again. This time I was able to get my fingers on it and remove it from under the seat.
They were so happy to get it back. This one was a challenge, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Lost Engagement Ring On The Beach In Ocean City Maryland Found

Michael contacted me regarding his wifes engagement ring that had been lost on the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Michaels wife gave him her rings so that he could place them in their bag for safe keeping while enjoying their day at the beach. The engagement ring did not make it into the bag and was lost in the sand. I met Michael at the beach and he showed me the area that he and his family had been sitting on the beach at the time that the ring was lost. Michael sat down on the sand and watched as I began to search the beach with my metal detector for the lost ring. I was able to locate the lost ring after a few short minutes and as I recovered it from the sand, Michael said « And it was just that easy ». The ring was returned to Michael so that he could return it to his wife.

Diamond « Eternity » Rings Recovered on the Beach for Owner, Mashpee, Massachusetts

A beautiful day on the beach looked like it might be a disaster for Adrienne when she lost a pair of beautiful diamond ‘eternity’ rings in the dry sand on the beach.  Fortunately, she found the Ring Finders online, and I was able to meet her at the beach about 45 minutes after receiving her call.  She described how the rings had been on a towel on her beach chair and probably fell off when she moved the chair to another location 12 or 15 feet away.  It took only a few minutes to find the first ring, but the second one was stubborn.  I went over the area 2 or 3 times in different directions but could not get a signal.  Finally, I re-checked the signal from the first ring and noted that the ring in a vertical orientation gave no signal at all but was detected in a horizontal position.  This is not uncommon, though it’s usually not a problem because typically a ring gets buried in a relatively horizontal orientation.  So I moved the sand around in the area where the first ring was found, and soon picked up a signal and had the second ring in my scoop.  Needless to say, there were big smiles all around.  I’m very happy that I was able to help you, Adrienne, and I hope you’ll enjoy those rings and tell the story of the Ring Finders for many years to come!
