Ring lost in Mission Bay Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Ryan was out paddle boarding on Mission Bay, when about 15 yards off shore, he took a tumble. Windmilling his arms resulted in his platinum wedding band flying off his finger and into the drink in waist deep water. He searched the best he could, even pulling up some of the sea grass, but, the ring had disappeared. He noted the spot and sadly went home to break the news to his wife. He found TheRingFinders.com website, my contact info, and gave me a call. We agreed to meet the next day at 11:30am to take the best advantage of a currently pitiful low tide. We arrived at the same time and made our way to the search area. Once Ryan got oriented and waded out to ground zero, I started my first pass out to where he was standing.  I heard a few spurious signals along the way, indicating junk or something reading totally different that what his ring would read, until I got out to about waist deep water. There I got a solid 16 on my Equinox and tried to scoop the target. It took 5-6 tries in the sea grass to get the target in my scoop. After filtering the sand, mud, shells, and sea grass out, I was left with a beautiful ring staring up at me. Ryan couldn’t have been happier and more relieved to get it back. A pleasure meeting you Ryan and thank you for the reward.

EMERALD ISLE, NC     —–   COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN

Kristina and Drew were spending a beautiful day on the Emerald Isle beach.  Before finding a place to setup for the day in the sun, Kristina placed her engagement ring in a zip up blanket.  She became alerted when she had notice that Drew had opened the blanket and placed it on the beach.  Apparently, he didn’t know about the hidden ring.  Kristina called me and I informed her I could be there in less than 40 minutes.  Upon arrival, I searched over the blanket and received a very strong signal below the blanket.  I even stated « there is your ring ».  I moved the beach blanket and nothing  produced a signal from my Garrett Pro-Pointer AT pinpointer.  It was then, I looked up and noticed the metal zipper under the blanket.  I reset and started to scan the area with my Minelab CTX-3030.  I then locked onto a 2nd strong signal and this time, the Garrett sounded off with Kristina’s ring!  Now her engagement ring can attend next year’s wedding!

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Got a call from John today. He was at the beach in Surf City NJ (LBI) when his platinum wedding band fell into the sand. He and his wife searched for a while and decided to call in a professional metal detector. He had the spot marked perfectly, and a few swings later I had the ring. WELL, while cleaning off the sand I dropped it and had to find it again. Much to my surprise, it was 7-8″ down. Just shows you how deep they can go.

Emory and his family were in Stone Harbor, NJ. They were sitting on the beach when Emory realized that his wife’s engagement ring was missing from the pouch that it was in for safe keeping. He searched the sand trying to find the ring but couldn’t. That’s when he reached out to me, and I was on my way over shortly after. When speaking with Emory before the search he thought it might have fallen out when he went to get ice cream. The search started where they were sitting. The engagement ring was next to his chair about 5 inches deep in the sand. Emory and his wife were so relieved that the ring was found. The vacation in Stone Harbor, New Jersey could continue!

Ring lost at Pacific Beach Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Justin and family members were visiting here and spending the day out on the sand at Pacific Beach. While sitting in his beach chair, his gold wedding ring decided to take a sand bath, landing somewhere in a three foot circle around him. Searching the best he could, even using a sifter screen, failed to bring his ring to light. An online search brought him to TheRingFinders.com website and my phone number. A few texts with the pertinent information exchanged, and I was on my way with my wife to help with the awful parking situation normally associated with P.B. As luck would have it, I found parking up close, so, my wife didn’t have to circle, and was able to accompany me to the search area. After meeting Justin, seeing his chair, I had him clear the area for my search. Jokingly, I said that this search might break my record of 10 seconds recovery time seeing as how small the search area was. It was close, but, it might have taken me 12 seconds! A happy Justin can now stay out of the dog house with his wife. A pleasure to meet you and thank you for the reward.

It will now be back on his chain thanks to their quick phone call, and precise mark of the location. Special thank you for keeping our swimmers safe.

Lost Engagement Ring At Atlantic Beach,NC Pier Found By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

Robert and his family were spending the day next to Oceanana Pier in Atlantic Beach, NC.  Rob’s wife placed her wedding rings inside of a can cooler sleeve and then inside the beach bag under the umbrella.  She had told me that she told Rob about the rings location but he informed me he didn’t hear her.  They had moved a couple of the lounge chairs closer to the water and about 20 yards from the the original setup.  Rob went to retrieve some of the can sleeves and both rings fell out on the way to the chair.  He said the wedding band was located, but was still unable to find her diamond ring.  When I arrived, I was hoping they fell out at the same time and her engagement ring would be very close to the wedding band…Nope.  After a thorough search of the setup area, I started to grid search towards the lounge chairs.  After a few trash objects removed from the beach, I plucked her lost ring out with only part of it exposed in the pile of sand.  I asked Rob, « Do you see what I see? »  He bent down and picked up her missing ring.

Ring lost at Mission Bay Found

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Wei and his wife Bella were spending the day at Mission Bay, when during a volleyball game, Wei’s platinum wedding ring flew off his finger and landed in the soft sand. They search for the ring for quite a while, even used a metal detector, but, no luck. They got on the internet and found TheRingFinders.com. Bella gave me a call and we agreed to meet in a half hour at the site. Luckily, the volleyball court was empty, they showed me the area they thought the ring landed, and I was able to get set up and start my grid. First target was a nice solid 12 on my Equinox detector. I had high hopes, but, it turned out to be a partial pull tab. A couple more passes, and I got another nice solid 12. This time it was his ring, a bit outside the area they thought, but, that happens when rings fly! A pleasure to meet you both and thank you for the reward.
