Third ring found and returned in Harwich, Cape Cod, MA this week!

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

The difference in the meaning of « DEEP » water is relative to one’s height.

Mike’s loss was not noticed at once so my search area was within 3 areas and the path between them. A Google photo with the marked area and the fact he was playing with his kids my search plan was set. I started at low tide, and worked up the beach’s slope. The water was heavy with seaweed and I could search that area when the tide came in. After 2½ hours I was searching in the water but had little hope as I would be underwater at high tide and Mike was not when he lost his ring. Little did I know Mike stands well over 6’ tall and his head would still be above water long after I would have needed a long snorkel to stand next to him. I have dreamed of being that tall while detecting in deep water. Back to the search…I found the ring a half hour after entering the water within 10 feet of the center of the most likely area as identified by Mike on his area photo. If I only knew and there was not the floating seaweed, I may have found the ring in less time. Mike came to my home to pick up his ring of almost 13 years. What a personality, I knew I was in for an exciting talk form a very energetic man after only a few minutes on the phone with Mike. It was a memorable pleasure meeting Mike, his enthusiastic smile and returning his ring.

Lost Ring while tossing ball with kids. Ring found in 5′ of water. Returned in 2 minutes.

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

A re-occurring scenario playing ball in the water, Patrick’s Platinum wedding band was knocked off his finger on 8/22. He and several friends, and children search with no result. Patrick reached out to me for help. I had one search that had to be done in the morning’s low tide. I showed up at 11:30am and was given the needed information to start the search. In setting up my gear, a dime signal was heard, but I was too eager to get into the area so I left the signal and headed out into deeper water. A penny was the next target and I did retrieve it. Than the big bang, one shallow scoop and there it was a nice round piece of Platinum. Two minutes at most…but it will be a wait for a picture of Patrick and his ring as he was in California. His wife’s smile will be shown in the Book of Smiles until Patrick’s photo can be obtained.

Blessed by the Pope, Lost, Found and Returned Ring goes on, Harwichport, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

One ring that could never be replaced slipped from Christopher’s finger just less a few days of of 3 months of being placed there. The ring had quite a history. It had traveled to Ireland and Italy on a honeymoon, had a personal blessing by Pope Franciscus, and lost just yards away from where it origin had started. Chris had the presence of mind to take note of the location the ring slipped from his finger and then his wife contacted me via TheRingFinders.

I arrived and was told the ring was gold with a silver band of Celtic knots and it would be found 15-20 feet into the water when I aligned myself so I could see into the drain pipe protruding from the break-wall. Two pull tabs, three bottle caps and then a crazy signal…the detector had a difficult time distinguishing between the two metals. I thought I had trash and was very surprised to see the ring in my scoop. Smiles, hugs, and thank yous ended the emotional trauma of a very special ring’s short history and the beginning of a very long one.

Football leads to ring loss, In-laws to ring find. Orleans, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

What an experience; the search for this ring will never be forgotten. The usual questions, answers and a Google map photo of the area. The next low tide was 2am and my detecting partner, Jim, and I were up for a hunt in the dark. A beautiful night, bright moon, stars, shooting stars, and heat lightening in the distance. 3 hours later, no ring but a mind full of fantastic sights. I returned a 1pm with Mike’s in-laws. They agreed that Mike’s “area” was off. They told me were to go, stop and start detecting to the right, not left as Mike’s map had shown. Two passes parallel to the beach took about 4 minutes with no targets, I turned for the 3rd pass, took 3 steps and there it was, Mike’s ring in my scoop. Back on the sand, cheers from the crowd on the beach and disbelief that the ring had been found and so fast and returned to Mike’s father-in-law (shown in photo).
UPDATE Mike, his ring and wife.

Widower’s Missing Wedding Band Found at Waterford, CT Beach

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

Finding this wedding band was no different than waking up on Christmas morning as a kid – This was going to be the ultimate gift to someone!

Prior to beginning my search, I had no identifying information on Mr. Hage’s ring so I was not completely sure if the ring I found was the ring that belonged to Mr. Hage (Although, deep down I had high hopes this ring was the ring I was there to find). After confirming the ring belonged to Mr. Hage, I knew the best part was coming next. Aside from the excitement of finding a gold ring lost to Mother Nature, there is no better feeling than reuniting someone with their story that began 56 years ago.

I do this because sometimes all people have is a token to remind them of the best parts of their lives and those memories do not belong lost in the ocean.

My jewelry finding service covers Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and other surrounding states.

Lost Rental Car Keys .. Huntington State Beach, CA. .. Found in Dumpster

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I had a call from Jason in Huntington State Beach. He believed it should be an easy search as he could get me to the exact location where He and his family had spent their day. They are visiting from Georgia. This was a rental car and the rental car company could not find a spare key. It was going to be an expensive and time consuming process to fix this problem.
The call came just as I was finishing my first attempt to find (4) rings lost in the sand 3 miles away, near the Balboa Pier. It would be a few hours till the beach at the pier would clear of people to give me the opportunity to do a proper grid search. The lady that lost her rings had given up hope, thinking that somebody on the beach had found them first. I did return and found the rings after searching for the keys.
I met Jason at Huntington State Beach near lifeguard tower #7. After searching the first area, he showed me his path to the car. That was a much larger location, but I started a grid. He walked back to the restrooms where he spotted a guy in a dumpster collecting recyclable cans. Then he remembered tossing garbage in the same trash dumpster. He asked the guy to see if there might be car keys in the bottom of the dumpster. Yes! Jason’s car keys lying in amongst the trash.
Well, I didn’t find the keys, but I did eliminate the areas where they could have been hiding. Also, the timing of our search happen to coincide with the man that had been dumpster diving..
Jason did reward the guy, who said he would be happy for something to help him buy dinner. I was also given a gratuity which is greatly appreciated.

Katrina called last evening ask me if I could help her find her lost white diamond engagement ring! which she just lost while playing volleyball in the sand court told her I would be down within 30 minutes, when I arrived at the court I see her friends on their hands and knees searching for the ring with no luck in finding the ring.

I did a couple of grid search with my V3i with 4×6 Eclipse Shooter Coil with no luck Knowing that the ring had to be in the area I went back to the truck and got my AT pro with standard coil and with in 10 minute found her ring I could tell by the smile Katrina was one happy young lady to have her ring back on her finger.

Thank you Katrina for the generous reward.

Another Happy Client.

Lost Silver Cross Necklace in Delaware, OH. “FOUND”

  • from Newark (Ohio, United States)
Contact:

Jon Baughman, a Ring Finder, received an email about a lost silver cross necklace somewhere in his back yard. He was adding a patio on the back on his house. During his work he was using a skid steer to move dirt away from the house and also use a compactor to compact the gravel  by the house as he lost his silver cross necklace somewhere throughout the day which was handed down from his grandma. All of the dirt was mud which has harden to almost undigable ground. After searching in the dirt with only finding nails and strap tin from the house construction. I expanded my search to the next area which is compacting. And there the silver cross necklace hiding in the grass right as he started compacting. He was very happy that I was able to find the lost silver cross necklace that he almost started to cry in joy.

Gull Lake, Richland, Michigan gives up a set of wedding rings

  • from Manistee (Michigan, United States)
Contact:

Fred Johnson,  a Ring Finder, got an email today at 3PM from Eric R., « last night my wife lost her rings while swimming…somewhere in 4-8 feet of water off our dock…possible area of perhaps 1000 square feet…only 3-5′ visibility at present…sand and silt bottom…is this something doable for you or is the depth an issue ». When it comes to ring finding we have few issues and dept of water is one but we have a fellow Ring Finder, Chuck Raison, who is our diver and who we can call on. Fred gave me a call and asked if I was available to help him find these rings. I called my brother Doug and headed down to Gull lake to meet Fred at Eric’s house.

After Eric had taken us out to the dock and showed us a buoy that his wife, Martha, swam around and then back to the dock. She was swimming back stroke to avoid their dog, Lucy, who was swimming in the lake too. When Martha got up to the ladder on the dock she noticed her rings were gone. The rings were an engagement ring, white gold with diamonds and a ten year anniversary ring, white gold with diamonds.

It was a beautiful afternoon to go out in the water so we started from the shore and made our way out to neck deep water with no signals. I got my life vest on and extended my detector shaft as long as it would go and checked out the deeper water around the buoy. Had I got a good signal we would have called in Chuck R. to dive for it. I made my way back to shallower water where I could just stand up in and got a good signal with my CZ21 and tried to scoop it but was unsuccessful so Fred got his Pin pointer and mask and went down under my coil and scooped up a handful of mud and the engagement ring came up sparkling in the water. I continued to search for another signal as I was sure it wasn’t too far away. After a few more dives by Fred and a good scoop we got the anniversary ring. This was truly a combination effort between Fred and myself.

A little before we got the good signal Martha came out on the dock and thanked us for coming out. Then we started back to the dock and told Martha it was pretty deep and we might have to get our diver. As I got on the dock I reached into my net with my finds and Martha saw something shining and started yelling and could hardly control herself. I said is this it? Fred then reached out his hand with the other ring and Martha hugged Fred, Doug and I as wet as we were, she couldn’t believe we found them. Martha said a prayer last night to Saint Anthony patron saint of lost items.

Eric and Martha’s daughter turned them on to The Ring Finders through Googling « lost ring ». Thank you webmaster for putting us on the top of the « lost rings » site.
