Lost Wedding Band at Abbotsford Construction Site…Found

Just yesterday around 3 pm I received a call from a young man that lost his wedding band at a construction site in Abbotsford.I quickly called our other member from Abbotsford to see if he wanted to do it as it would be nice for him to get some practise but I never heard back from him so I made arrangements to meet Chris who lost his ring that evening.Abbotsford is a good hour drive for me so by the time I got off work and grabbed my equipment and met Chris at a gas station it was 10 pm. I followed him to the construction site where I signed in and followed him to his job site where his ring was lost. We looked over the 2 possibilities and we both felt that the ring was lost at the 2nd location. I grabbed my light to do the interview and off I went to search for the ring… It only took a minute to get a signal and a huge Smile! I feel just as excited to find the ring as the person I find it for!  Chris was so very happy, he called his wife who sounded very excited and emotional that the ring was found!It’s so refreshing to see what a ring means to a man as we know how emotional the ladies get when I recover their lost rings. Chris loved his ring very much and loved the lady who gave it to him and I’m so glad I was able to continue their story! Thank you for the kind reward Chris!I love my Job!Lost Something? Lost gold wedding ring found, Big Turkey lake, Lagrange, Indiana

Last week I was contacted by Ringfinder, Greg Larabel from Michigan, in response to a craigslist ad that I had posted for SW Michigan lost/found rings/etc. After talking a bit, he asked if I could help with lost men’s wedding band in northern Indiana. I said sure thing, and was given the contact info for the party that lost his ring.

Barry, had lost his ring while working in the water, pulling out old wood pier posts at his lake house. The area was full of weeds and has a very mucky, marly bottom, a good 6 inches of muck. He had pulled out a lot of the weeds and actually took a heavy duty pump and attempted to pump out some of the muck in the area he had lost the gold ring that he has worn for 38 years now!

I was somewhat worried that with all the stepping around, pulling weeds and pumping out the muck that the ring may have been pushed down beyond the reach of my detector. Was also worried that the ring could have fallen down into the 3 ft deep holes left from when he pulled the old wood posts out of the lake bottom.

Well, I gave it a go this morning, set up my camera real quick, started out finding a few fishing sinkers, a couple ring looking pieces of cut-0ff aluminum pipe and an old beer can. After about 8 minutes, I had now covered about 85% of the search area and was thinking to myself « I need to hear something good here real soon….! »

Got a nice sounding tone, took a scoop of muck, broke it up with my fingers and gave it a good sloshing. Could hear something clunking around in the bottom of the scoop. Looked in the scoop and could see something nice and yellow in the bottom. There it was! Gave a quick thumbs up and headed to the pier to reunite the ring with it’s owner.

As you may have heard through Ryan, he did find my ring. It took him less than 10-15 minutes. Unbelievable! He did a great job despite what he said were challenges with lead sinkers, a nearby metal dock, and miscellaneous metal parts from long ago. It was in the area I had already searched. I was absolutely ecstatic and couldn’t believe it. I didn’t know how to thank him. There are no words to convey my feelings. The ring had been on my finger for 38 years. When I lost it, it felt like a part of me was missing. I had trouble sleeping for two weeks.

I have not told my wife yet as I plan to take her out to a special dinner and surprise her with it.

Ryan, I cannot express my gratitude enough and I trust the compensation was just. I hope your feeling of helping people is truly rewarding.

I would like to post an email that I received from a very happy man who got his ring back. Thanks to one of our newest members of theringfinders, Ryan Cole.

Found 1885 Five Dollar American Gold Coin at Vancouver Park…

Well its been an amazing week and a half for recoveries! I Found a $7000 Rolex watch and a $4500 Breitling watch along with a diamond pendent and some gold wedding bands and a silver native ring. I have been able to make a few people very happy these days!        This was another highlight for me as I got a call to find a beautiful $5.00 Gold Coin for a young man who lost it playing baseball.  I met the young man and his girlfriend at around 11pm as I new that we had to find it ASAP. You see he told me that his late Grandfather gave it to him many years ago and he wore it everyday.I asked a few questions and felt good about finding the gold coin because the grass was a bit high and we all know how gold likes to hide… Well it could only hide for 45 minutes from me before I was able to find and give it back to the owner.   I have the greatest job in the world! I get to make people smile! It was nice meeting you both tonight Roger and I’m so happy that you got your Grandfathers gift back! Lost gold ring found at Warren Dunes State Park, Berrien County, Michigan

Missy, friends and family were enjoying the nice day at the beach. When it was time to cool off in the water, she took her promise ring off and left it on her beach towel so she wouldn’t lose it in the water. Meanwhile, someone had lifted the towel to rid it of sand, sending the ring flying into the soft sand where it was quickly buried and lost.

As they were getting ready to leave, they noticed me out in the water with what they thought might be a metal detector. They asked if I could help them find the lost promise ring, missy described it in detail and I said I’d be happy to help. After a couple minutes searching, finding a few coins and bottle caps, I heard a very nice sounding target signal. I scooped up the target and there it was, the missing gold ring.  Big smiles all around!

Lost White Gold Wedding Band at Jericho Beach, Vancouver…Found in 30 Seconds

Well I received a call from a young man yesterday in regards to his lost gold wedding band at Jericho Beach in Vancouver. He tells me he thinks he lost his ring in the ocean while throwing a Frisbee, however we will not be able to meet as he had a dinner date with his wife that night. He told me that he would go back in the morning to search for the ring at low tide. I got off work early today and just then I get a call from the young man asking if we could meet to search for his ring…

I met Derek and his wife at the beach and we talked about the search and Derek walked me over to the log they were sitting at….

 

 

With in seconds of searching the area we found his wedding ring in the dry sand…

 

Derek and his wife were very happy and grateful for finding his lost ring!

 

I was blown away that no one found the ring as it was right next to a log and we all know to search the logs…

Also I thought I was going there to grid search the ocean…

Ring Found – Big Cedar Lake, Wisconsin

A girl’s weekend away turned to distress when Paula Hatfield’s diamond and sapphire ring slipped off her finger and into the silt of Big Cedar Lake, Wisconsin.

But the cloud turned to sunlight when her ring found its way into my sieve just 5 minutes into the search!

It was such a joy to be able to give your ring back, Paula! And the spontaneous group-hug from your friends on the dock–a wonderful sight to behold!

Lost Silver Native Carved Ring at Kits Beach, Vancouver…Found!

This evening I got from a young lady who lost her silver ring at Kits beach. She told me that she had been looking for the ring in the water for 2 hours! I knew right then that I’d be on my way to help her find it. I asked her to make good reference points to where the ring came off in the water and she did. When I arrived at Kits Beach at 9:30 PM I met Kristina and she told me the story about the ring and that it was a native carved ring that was given to her by her boyfriend 1 1/2 years ago and she went on to tell me how important it was to her and how much she’d love to get it back.  We discussed the search area and she was very confident that she could put me in the exact area where she felt the ring come off her finger and fall into the water. Only one minute in the water and I found her beautiful silver native carved ring and the smile tells you the rest!  I wish I had my camera on when I first found the ring to show you her reaction…I’m blessed with the ability to make people smile…I love my Job!Lost your ring? Diamond Wedding Band Found at Oakland Beach Home, Warwick, RI

Yesterday evening, I received a call from Tempest, who asked if I could come to her home right away to search for her diamond wedding band.  She explained that she and her husband, Will, had been searching for the ring and couldn’t find it.  Tempest had seen my information on the internet while on Craigslist so she was familiar with The Ring Finders service.  My wife and daughter accompanied me to assist with the search, and we arrived at Tempest’s home at 8:30 PM.  Her husband, Will, explained that their three-year-old daughter had thrown the wedding band out the window, tryng to throw it to her mother.  Unfortunately, neither Tempest nor Will knew exactly where the ring had landed.  We searched the yard first and expanded the search to the neighbor’s yard, sidewalk, and street.  After searching for two hours, my daughter, Emily, found the ring about forty feet from the house.  Tempest’s daughter promised never to do that again!   IMG_1646IMG_1642

RING FOUND IN HOUGHTON LAKE, MI

Brian and Gregg after the ring rescue.

Brian, his wife Laura, family and friends were vacationing at a cottage at Houghton Lake, MI. On Saturday afternoon, less than 3 hours into the vacation, he was playing catch with a football in the lake and his platinum ring slipped off his finger in about 3 feet of water. He thought it would be easy to find and grabbed a mask and search the water for about two hours then gave up. He thought it was lost for good. Feeling terrible because « he loved his ring, he wore it every day for 11 years without taking it off. » It cost $1,100 but the sentimental value far exceeds its actual worth and to him was irreplaceable. He thought about it all night.On Sunday morning, Brian turned on his IPad and typed « lost ring water Michigan » into a Bing Search engine and followed the link to theringfinders blog. He found me in Grand Rapids, MI and left a message at about 9:30 Sunday morning. I had just got out of church and noticed a call so about 20 minutes after his message I called him back. My brother Doug and I were planning on going up to the Upper Peninsula to find another ring so I told Brian we would detour up to Houghton Lake to search for his ring. We got up to the cottage about 1:30PM changed into our suits, got our gear and began the search, in less than 30 minutes I found his ring. He said « it was an amazing sound to hear me say, does this look like your ring ».

    After some pictures, handshakes and smiles we headed on up North. Thank you for the generous reward, I was our pleasure to put a smile back on your face.
