John emailed me asking if I could locate property markers. I said that I have in the past. We set up a search on Saturday morning. He sent me a copy of his survey that was done more than 30 years ago.

When I arrived we walked the property. The two in the front yard shouldn’t be an issue, but the two in the back yard will be much harder as there is a chain-link fence & metal poles in the area.

I got to work. The 2 front yard markers were found within 15 minutes. I did not find the two in the backyard. In the area of both markers are telephone poles running electric lines. The markers could have been removed or displaced. The fence was also troubling as I had to use my pinpointer to search.

John was very happy that I found two of the 4 markers.

Lost White Gold Diamond Stud Earring Found in River Rouge Michigan

DADS ROCK…….

….Even though anyone can be a father, it takes a special kind of person to be a dad. When Rico is asked what’s the best part of being a dad is, the journey or the destination, he always answered it’s being in the company of his family. On that note, his wife and children presented him with a pair of diamond stud gold earrings this afternoon for fathers day in the presence of family and friends at an outdoor gathering. Totally taken by surprise he quickly put them on and began to enjoy the gorgeous day, BBQ, socializing and yard games. Early this afternoon after taking a seat to relax he reached up and noticed one of the earrings was missing. Upon standing and making the announcement, all the dad jokes, conversations and the laughter of children went silent as the mood turned somber. On site we moved all the metal chairs and tables out of the way. Taking a metal detector reading from the other earring stud I knew what number to look for on the detector meter. I started to grid search over the ground and got lots of junk metal signals. Closing in on where Rico had been I got a nice repeatable signal and the earring stud came out of hiding! Shaking his hand saying happy dad’s day he said thank you for rescuing it! It’s my pleasure was my reply and by the way, your family makes great BBQ and sides!

Lake Lewisville, Tx New High School Ring in the lake 😔

  • from Dallas (Texas, United States)
Contact:

Received a call from a young lady who was almost in tears that needed our help in finding her newly acquired 2022 high school graduation ring that unknowingly came off while swimming in Lake Lewisville. Since it was already at the end of the day but close enough to go view the area we met her about 7:00pm.  After accessing the beach area and the size of the area she had been swimming in we knew how to tackle this problem first thing the next morning.  After gridding off the search area we began to hunt; luckily enough it was little more than chest high in some areas but very murky.  It took about 2 hours, along with avoiding other swimmers who came to enjoy the day, but she now has her beautiful ring back on her finger.

Engagement Ring Lost In Emerald Isle Waters Recovered By Crystal Coast Ring Finders

  • from Emerald Isle (North Carolina, United States)

It was a beautiful Saturday for a swim along the Southern Outer Banks, also known as the Crystal Coast.  After Melanie was in water up to her waist, she thought it best to remove her rings before proceeding.  Her intention was to attach them to a hair band.  After removing her rings, her engagement ring slipped out of her hand into the Emerald Isle surf.  Her father recommended that she contact Crystal Coast Ring Finders after he posted a plea on a social media sight and received a recommendation to contact us.  Melanie called me shortly after loosing her ring and I made plans to meet her to begin the search.  I firmly believe her quick action to notify me as soon as possible definitely helped me locate her ring in the water.  Her and her husband knew the general area of where she was standing in the waist deep water at the time of the loss ring.  The beach in this area currently has very soft sand and heavy objects such as gold can sink below detection depth quickly.  She explained to me it had been a bad day with the loss of the ring and missing a flight but I am sure I helped ease her troubles with the thing that meant so much to her

Football Wedding Ring – Lost and Found! Browns Lake, Wisconsin

  • from Menomonee Falls (Wisconsin, United States)

Here in Southeastern Wisconsin USA, June 14th was the hottest day up to that point in 2022. The outside temperature gauge in my VW Tiguan showed 95-degrees Fahrenheit. That’s 35.5 degrees Celsius for the benefit of my family members and friends in Canada and Australia. Either way, it was a warm day for Wisconsin. And a good reason to be cooling off at the lake.

Franklin, Wisconsin resident, Niko Savic was doing just that with friends and their boats on a sandbar close to the shore of Browns Lake, near the picturesque town of Burlington. While standing in waist-deep water, a toss of a football was all it took to catapult his Tungsten Carbide wedding ring off his hand into the water’s murky depths. Friends quickly joined in the search using goggles and snorkeling gear but it was as though the Lake had swallowed Niko’s ring whole, never again to see the light of day.

The next morning, a kind and considerate lakefront property owner gave Niko permission to access the area from her home. Niko spent several hours searching carefully, but the ring was nowhere to be seen. That’s when his wife sent him a link to The Ring Finders Directory of metal detecting specialists and my contact information. He texted me and soon we were speaking on the phone and arranged to meet on location that same evening, unless the threat of a pending thunder storm would put the search at risk.

As it turned out, the weather cooperated and we arrived to clear skies. The usual boaters and lake lovers were gathering in the same location where Niko had been the night before. They were understanding of our mission and cooperated beautifully by giving us the space we needed to conduct the search. Indeed, they became our cheerleaders!

Typical of Wisconsin vacation lakes, the bottom was a minefield of metallic targets of every description. I ignored most of the signals, listening intently for the unique sound of tungsten carbide, a high-pitched but solid tone attuned to my ears over 40-plus years of underwater detecting. About 40 minutes into the search, I heard it. And Niko’s ring appeared shortly in my scoop!

Making my way towards Niko, he called out to me saying, “I think you are in the right area!” Little did he know I had his ring in my hand. I responded, “I think you are right, Niko. It is the right area!” Then I gave the ring to him.

That’s always the fun part. The jaw-dropping look of disbelief, the hugs, the high-fives, the raised beer cans and cheers and shouts of “congratulations” from the crowd that had gathered. It would all have made a heart-warming end to a televised docudrama. Wish you were there. But the smile on Niko’s face really tells the story!

My thanks goes to Niko’s wife who searched for and found me on the The Ring Finder’s Directory. And thanks to all the friends who moved their boats and gave us space in the water to search. And a special thanks to one very kind and considerate home owner who gave permission to access the area through her backyard. Success, sometimes, takes a team working together.

TESTIMONIAL: After searching for my ring for several hours the morning after losing it, I had little hope of finding it. After giving Paul a call, he assured me that it was possible. Paul took the job very seriously and met up with me that evening. Sitting down and talking to him afterwards assured me that not only was this service rewarding for him, but his life’s work is all about others. Amazing man, and amazing service! Niko Savic (Client)

Ring Found in Burlington VT

Got an urgent message from a woman who’s close friend had just lost her engagement ring. She gave me some information, pictures of the ring and a phone number to call. So I called her friend right away.

She sounded absolutely devastated. This ring was extremely sentimental. Her fiancé had recently proposed to her and the ring had once been his great grandmother’s. And plus, it was a beautiful ring!

My wife, being the big hearted sweetie she is, told me to go on the search, even though we had plans for the evening. She knew how important this one was, especially being lost in a public area.

So, I left immediately and met her and her fiancé on the beach where she might have lost it. She had also been riding her bike, but we decided the beach was more likely. She and her fiancé had borrowed a metal detector from a friend, so I showed them some basic detecting techniques. I got started with my gridding, and got a ton of junk signals. On the second pass I got a good, semi-shallow signal, pushed my fingers and pinpointer into the sand and felt the shape of a ring. I pulled it out and it was hers!!

When I gave it to her it you could sure see the relief and emotions. I was so happy it was back on her finger and wished them a long happy life together.

Lost Wedding Ring at Utah Lake- Found

Monday I got a call from Taija who had just lost her wedding ring over the weekend at Utah lake. The weather was very nice over the weekend but we had a big storm roll through and it had dropped the temperature into the 40’s on Monday. I headed down to meet Taija at the marina in Lindon and walk the areas where she had been. She took off her ring before getting out of the car and then proceeded down to the water’s edge. After taking a dip in the lake, she returned to the car and that is when she realized the ring was missing. I started to search where she had left her clothes on the bank of the lake. Lot’s of lead sinkers and trash everywhere!!! To make the search even more difficult, the lake shore was nothing but rocks with plenty of cracks where the ring could hide. After about 2 hours, I circled back to where she had took her shorts off and noticed a firepit that had been covered up with some rocks. Since I was unable to get down into the cracks, I started moving rocks around and that’s when I got the signal. I looked down and laying in the firepit was the beautiful white gold ring with several diamonds. Taija had told me that they were celebrating their 10 year anniversary this summer and was planning on upgrading the ring. With the cold wind and rain, she had headed back to her house so after getting back to the car, I gave her a call to tell her the good news!  Needless to say she was very happy to get the phone call and I was very happy to be out of the cold wind. I drove straight to her house where I was able to return the ring! All in all it was a tough search but happy I was able to find it! Congrats on your 10 year anniversary Taija!
