I received a text from Bob asking me if I would be willing to look for his lost wedding band in the Pittsburgh area. We spoke briefly on the phone to work out the details and agreed on today. The ring was believed to have been lost while gardening and was thought to be in one of his flower beds or in the woods where he dumps his clipping. Bob explained to me that the ring was more than just a wedding band, but an heirloom with significant meaning.

Of course as I set out to meet Bob I was greeted by the first snow of the year, albeit just some flurries with a dusting here or there along the way. However, by the time I reached Bob’s house the snow had stopped and the sky was turning blue, I was hoping it was a good omen for my search. The thought had crossed my mind while on my way to send Bob a text and tell him we would have to wait for better weather as I am a « fair weather » ring finder when I was a few minutes from his house, but then my better judgement told me to remember – « you are a ring finder, not a comedian » so I held off.

Bob was warm and welcoming when I met him and showed me the area to be searched. Despite the cold weather he wanted to be outside to accompany me while I searched. I checked the front flower gardens and not really so much as a peep on my machine. I asked Bob to show me where he dumped his clipping and he took me back to the edge of the woods. My thought was a quick check there before I started searching the yard between the flower beds and the woods. No sooner did I start searching the clippings and my AT Pro hit the sweet spot. I reached down into the clippings and pulled out the gold wedding band with a channel of diamonds. Bob checked his watch, I had been there less than a half hour total.

As I handed the ring over to Bob I could see all the emotions his face – thankfulness, relief, happiness…  Bob was kind enough to share the story of his ring with me. It is not my story to retell, but I will say that it is one that touched the heart, probably similar in many ways to some of the stories that other ring finders have heard as well, and it underlines the importance of what we do. It was a great pleasure to meet Bob today and an even greater one to return his heirloom wedding band!

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Hale Koa Beach Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text from Terry that said he lost his Gold Wedding band in waist deep water yesterday at Hale Koa hotel, while on vacation from Colorado Springs. I had just returned from a relaxing low tide mark hunt through Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Hale Koa Hotel beaches. I found a 14K Gold Band but it was on the Hilton side. I told Terry I’d grab my gear again and meet him on the boardwalk near Hale Koa Beach. When I arrived Terry introduced me to his lovely wife Mary and we proceeded down to the shoreline so they could show me the area to hunt. Mary was sure the hunt should start somewhat more to the left and I did start there. As those of you that know me, my gig is the ladies are much better at remembering locations. Good thing too because on only the third leg of the grid search after finding two pull tabs I got a loud 12/13 on the Nox and in one scoop there was Terry’s Gold Ring in the scoop. I will always listen to both but weigh heavily on the woman’s guidance! I can’t even remember when the last time the « Man » was correct! Terry & Mary were very grateful and several people on the beach came down to get my number. One gentleman said he was going to send me some honey from his bee farm! What a gracious offer and such wonderful people this morning on the beach. I found out Terry served in the Air Force so, « Thank You for your service Sir. » Aloha to Mary & Terry

Tantalum ring lost and found in Roscoe, Illinois.

  • from Rockford (Illinois, United States)

I received a text from Brenna on Wednesday telling me that her husband was in thier back yard doing some chores and lost his wedding ring while tossing a piece of pipe. So we set up a time for me to come search that Friday evening.  When I arrived I met Callum in the backyard and he gave me a quick description of what he was doing, where he was standing, and where he felt the ring come off. In just a few minutes I got a bouncy but strong 21-23 signal. I reached down with the pinpointer and it started beeping before it reached the ground! I pulled the grass back to see Callum’s wedding ring just under the grass and just slightly pushed into the ground.

Success!!

*** Allen and his friends were at beach front home in Newport Beach, CA. 92660. He was wearing his gold diamond watch with a matching gold diamond ring. These were both very expensive and very sentimental as Allen had been given these to celebrate a special occasion.

Sometime in the late afternoon the white gold diamond ring came off his finger disappearing into the sand. He and his friends searched for it several frustrating hours,  disrupting the party.

Allen found my contact information after a google search. He was very excited when he called me, asking if I could come right away. It was just four miles from my place but it was late afternoon and with the traffic it took me about a half hour.

I met him on the sand near the patio of the beachfront home. He said he had been shaking his friend’s hand when the ring flew off his finger into the sand. There were beach chairs and longes on the sand. I did a preliminary scan of the sand before moving any of the beach furniture. “Boom” .. the beautiful gold diamond ring in my scoop.

Allen and everyone at the party was excited and relieved that the ring had been recovered. Allen wanted to show me the gold diamond watch that was part of a matching set that was custom made for him. We took a few minutes to do a photo-op. where he want me to take a pic of both the watch and ring. It was a very special search and I was happy to be available to help Allen.

June of 2021 I came across a public post of a gentleman who had just lost a very important gold heirloom coin ring in the heart of down town Seattle. This post caught my attention and drove some immediate concerns due to the excessive amount of details that were published. This compelled me to reach out to offer a hand of assistance.

I do not judge anyone or hold anything against them as I fully understand most often these are great people that have found themselves in a terrible situation trying anything that comes to mind to find a way to get their most precious keepsakes and valuables they hold close to heart found and returned to them. We understand it’s often a stressful situation and most are not prepared or trained on how to approach such a situation. Fortunately an army of professional recovery specialist are scattered across the country continually looking for opportunities to serve the public in getting their lost items found, recovered and returned to their rightful owners. To date we have found no better way to showcase our professional capabilities than by being members of the number one global listing service TheRingFinders.com Please share “TheRingFinders” on your social media so more people are made aware of our amazing services. The more that hear of “TheRingFinders” means the more precious items of value that will be recovered and returned to those that have lost them.

I quickly reached out to this man and learned that Louis was devastated having had just lost a very important heirloom gold coin ring that meant the world to him. He explained that it came from his great-great grandfather, had been in the family for nearly one-hundred years, passed down to him. He was perplexed because his ring is a huge gold 1911 King George coin ring and very hard to miss. He briefly explained his situation and that he had been retracing his steps and has some real concern for the city sidewalk area in-front of his corporate office building in down town Seattle.

The first thing I was able to do for him was to explain some very important tips on how to modify his Craig’s List post. He agreed and adjusted his post to the community. Our biggest concern when people put excessive details it that they have now just invited everyone to search for their lost items in public spaces.  Outside of a stressful situation most of us would agree that there are those that potentially scan Craig’s List looking for opportunities to find valuables for their own personal gain with zero intent to ever return the found items to their owners. I tend to refer to these types as the “sharks”. The last thing anyone should do is to crate a feeding frenzy by posting all details of their lost to any blog or public service. It only empowers a situation of opportunity for the “sharks” to visit these public spaces looking to score some treasure all for themselves. Believe me it may likely happen more than any us really know for the simple fact they don’t tell anyone when they take advantage and find your lost items.  It may not be all that often but if you lost one item that means the world to you, you would not want to inform the public at large that you have an expensive diamond wedding ring lost in this park and all the details of its physical description and detailed location. It’s a risk you can’t afford. Don’t do it!

Fortunately there is a better way and we are happy to share the good news. It’s critical to reach out to a lost item recovery specialist from TheRingFinders.com as your first priority. Look for a specialist in your local community that has a track record of success, concern and professionalism in lost item recovery. Theres is may recovery specialist  listed on the directory and even if some one appears to be at distance don’t hesitate to reach out for a quick phone call. You might be surprised at the level of support you find. Remember your lost items means the world to you so don’t give up if you don’t find someone initially, don’t give up. Keep calling TheRingFinders until you connect with someone that can provide some assistance. The point is by having an experienced person on your team even if only by phone consultation can greatly improve your chances of a successful recovery as we learn from this post.

The story went like this Louis had a routine of taking his ring off each night and placing it on his night stand. He would put it on in the morning while getting ready for work. His wife would drive him and his dog to the office in the morning. He had the opportunity of having his pet at work and when he went outside for a break mid morning he noticed his ring was not on his finger! His ring is huge and you would probably see it half a block away on his hand. So his frantic search started and eventually he posted to Craig’s List with all the specifics of his loss thinking it could have been lost outside in the street or walkways.

After spending some time conversing with him he learned of my skills and shared in confidence many details. One of our last discussions ended with him about to go back out looking in the streets. I agreed that I would pay a visit to the area the next day to do a final sweep if necessary. After that discussion I sent him one last recommendation texted to his phone. As crazy as it may sound you need to check all of your household garbage before it gets collected by the city. We’d hate for it to be lost forever in such a way.

Some short time later I got an amazing call back that he found his ring in his “bin”. I thought he said den or home office and he clarified “bin”. I said oh do you have a trash bin near your nightstand that the ring fell into?

He said no he was about to go back to his office and scour the city streets like a crazed lunatic but happened to see my last text message and decided to investigate his house hold garbage upon my recommendations.

It turned out in the morning while preparing for his day he had grabbed some stale dog treats and tossed them into a garbage bin at his home as he went out the back door. He looked in that trash bin and found his ring!!!

He was so grateful for the time spent chatting and now has his family heirloom gold King George ring back on his finger!

I am always blown away by the twist and turns these recovery sorries take and so humbled to be a part of an amazing team of recovery specialist doing this specialized type of work.

We can’t guarantee a recovery every time. However people tell us that by having us help them they know they have done the very most that anyone could do. Many times they have reported that they have gained a great since of closure after our work is performed.

LOST WEDDING RING IN DURHAM, NC….. FOUND!!!!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Shawn SGT Whitey Sherrill – Ring Recovery Specialist – Lost your ring?…. Call ASAP – 918-313-2202. I got a call from a lady near Durham who had lost one of a set three rings. Story goes, she was delivering food to a sick neighbor down the road from her house. As she was getting back in the car, she waived back at them and two of her rings flew off into the landscaping. The center/heavy one stuck on a limb and the other one fell to the base of the same bush and went under the roots a little and was out of site. They tried a metal detector and looking for it with flashlights.

I started off with my metal detector. She had a duplicate ring that goes on the inside of the set that I was able to scan and use it to determine the VDI. I programed it to be in a certain range. I wasn’t getting any solid hits at first. I then got a glimmer of a hit near the base of the bush. I got down on my knees with my pin-pointer and I was picking up a signal. After a few mins, I see her ring ON EDGE! « This is why I wasn’t getting a solid hit » I quickly told her, « I GOT IT » snapped a few pics and returned the ring to her. She was extremely happy that I was able to find it. We walked back to her house to inform her husband that we had found it.
