While visiting at my family’s home of 50 years for my mom’s 89th birthday party, my niece, Emma 
(age 9) and I decided to metal detect the front yard to see what we could recover from our family’s past. 30 minutes of detecting and a few dug up pop tops, and bottle caps, we recovered this cute silver ring. Of course it fit Emma perfectly! I am not sure when or who in our family, lost the ring. I do know Emma is very happy we recovered the ring for her!
I received a call on 1/21/19 for Holly stating she had lost one of her Platinum stud diamond earrings. Knowing there isn’t a lot of « metal » to work with with studs, I was reluctant to have any hopes of recovering such a small item which is mainly composed of a non metal gem. Holly explained the circumstances in which she lost it and was 100% positive it was in a relatively small sandy area in her horse barn. We made plans to meet at the barn later that day. Once we met, Holly directed me to the barn and gave great detail in where she believed she was when she felt the earring come off. On the technical side of things, it was a challenging item to find being so small. Holly let me use its mate to « dial in » the sensitivity and other settings of my machine. Once I was able to hear the specific tone the item gave me, I got to work. Shortly thereafter…….
Here is the text from an email Holly sent me shortly after I left her with the lost earring in hand….
JUST CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY EARRING! I WAS VERY UPSET LOSING IT AS IT WAS A SPECIAL ANNIVERSARY PRESENT FROM MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND. This ring find began while I was returning from an iPhone hunt in the Aulani Lagoon. A tourist lady mentioned to me while I was returning to shore that a young girl had lost her heirloom ring in shallow water the day before right near the area I was in the water. I told her I would hunt for the ring after I got out of my scuba gear and would let Aulani Security know if I found it. I returned a short time later with my Equinox and started a grid search. When I was on about the third leg a young lady met me on the shoreline and asked if I could hunt for her ring. Her name was Anna and she was on vacation from Cleveland, Ohio celebrating her parents 25th Anniversary at the resort. I told her the encounter I had with the lady in the water and at that moment she appeared. That’s her there. We all had a good laugh then I resumed the search. On about the ninth leg I got a decent tone and in one scoop there was Anna’s stunning ring. I looked ashore and nodded to Anna that I found it and she was overcome with joy. She came out into the water and gave me a big hug and was so thankful. I found out later that the ring was passed down to her from her Grandfather and was very sentimental and the thought of losing it was tearing at her heart. Anna can now enjoy her Hawaiian vacation. Safe And Secure…..Again!
This pictured gentleman’s keys fell out of his pocket while operating a snow blower to clear the 6″ to 7″ snow that dropped in on the metro Detroit area Saturday afternoon. After a few passes in the backyard driveway he heard what he thought were sticks or something banging thru the machine. It wasn’t until he finished when he reached for his keys and they were gone. Now he was stranded and locked out as his wife was out of town. Before I got to the site today he managed to find the square portion of the car set on top of the snow in the neighbors yard. When I arrived I learned that there was a black vehicle key and his house keys still missing. Searching the drive area where he first heard the sounds in the machine my MXT said overload! and reaching down under the thin layer of snow produced the house keys and badly bent metal ring! Moving next in the trajectory where the square piece was on the snow took us into the yard next door. I knew from past searches for this type of key it produces a foil signal and a negative number on the meter depending on the key’s orientation. As my bigfoot coil sliced thru the sparkly layers of snow I got a foil/negative read about 4″ deep, cutting a deeper slice I pinpointed the key tipped slightly vertical in the snow and reaching into the snow produced the black car key! He said he was just about ready to jump up and down to warm up and as I held it up I said well this is a good reason too!
He was so thrilled that the keys were found, bringing that great feeling back to him that he and his family will be safe and secure again!

Received a call from Jon Sunday 1/29/2019 stating he lost his wedding band in the straw at his outdoor display at the Fort Worth stock show. I came out within an hour and was able to locate his ring in about 15 minutes. Glad I could help you and your wife in locating your ring! Thank you Jon for the reward!!!
This ring find began when I got a call from Kyle from Cincinnati, Ohio. While enjoying his honeymoon with his lovely wife Kim in the cool waters of the Disney Lagoon his ring came off in about five feet of water and disappeared. He rented a snorkel and searched but the ring succumbed to the soft sand. I told Kyle I would be at Aulani early the next morning to search for a phone and we coud meet up then for the hunt data. After showing me the area I told Kyle to enjoy his morning and that I would call him if/when I found his ring. Later that morning, on about the second leg of the grid search I found a Gold Men’s Wedding Band but it wasn’t the ring I was looking for. This happens quite often actually. On about the seventh leg I got another nice tone and there in the scoop was Kyle’s ring. I texted him a pic and we met in the pool area to return his ring. Honeymoon saved! Aloha to Kyle & Kim!

I received a call from Souja, she had lost her wedding ring on the Santa Monica pier. She and her husband Martin are from Austria, and were in Southern California celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary, and this was the exact day. Needless to say she was very unhappy about the loss. They were scheduled to leave the next day for Northern California for the rest of their vacation and then home. They could not imagine leaving with out her ring; they had matching rings. I let them know when I would be there, and was on my way.
When I got there Souja and Martin with their little one, met me and showed me what had happened. They had been at a food vendor on the pier when her ring slipped off of her finger. She said she watched it drop, and heard it hit the pier, but it was gone in an instant. They looked all over the pier with no success, and then surmised that it possibly slipped through the boards into the sand below, so they went below and searched some more. Martin went up and dropped some coins through the boards of the pier to see if he could find them, and was able to, but not Souja’s ring. They searched for a total of about 3 hours. They found me on The Ring Finders site and called, pretty discouraged by now. I agreed that the possibility of it having gone into the sand was better than it being up on the pier, so I began the search under the pier. I began my grid, and found a dime, a penny and a piece of trash. I was on my second pass, when I got the tone I was looking for, I dug, and in my scoop was Souja’s wedding ring. I reached in and held it out for her; they were so surprised. The pleasure of being able to help people with their lost items has not diminished a little; check out those smiles. What a great day!

Lost platinum wedding band found in water at beach in Naples. It was lost while playing football at the beach on New Year’s Eve. Happy New Year 2019! – I got a call just before Noon on New Years’ Day from a couple requesting help find 2 gold rings lost in the sand at the beach earlier that morning. One was a gold wedding ring with diamonds all around and the a family heirloom, a gold ring with diamond from Grandma. Praise God, the rest is history and the happy smiles speak volumes. What was once lost has again been found, to which we all can rejoice! Again, a Happy New Year 2019!
