Lost man’s tungsten wedding ring found in Mead WA

Yet another snow covered car steals a man’s wedding ring. That man Jared, was just closing the door to his car and with the slam of the door he also heard the ting of his ring hitting the door. Thinking the ring couldn’t have gone far, he and his wife looked for an hour. After not succeeding, Jared took to his computer to find a metal detector to buy. Low and behold the internet led him to the Ring Finders and so begins my latest Ring Finders tale. I got an email from Jared about his ring and dawned my snow bibs and took off to his house. The car that stole Jared’s ring was still parked in the spot where he had lost the ring. So knowing a thing or two about how conductive cars are I stayed away from the car and grid searched around the door he had closed. « The ring is being hidden by the car » I told him. He moved the car backwards but still no ring, he moved the car forwards and then I heard the sweet sound of the lost but now found ring. I said  » I bet this is it », I swept the snow with my foot and Jared’s ring landed in front of him. He was wearing a smile when he bent down to pick it up and an even bigger smile with his ring back on his finger.

Lost tungsten Wedding ring found in downtown Spokane WA

With the recent snow fall in my town, I knew that cold snow covered hands lose rings. So it was no surprise when Bryan and Cypress contacted me about Bryan’s wedding ring. It had snowed 3-4 inches yesterday.  Although at 8pm last night while it was still snowing,  I dawned my snow bibs and boots and head lamp and headed to a paid parking lot downtown. Bryan’s directions and pictures gave me a good idea of where he was parked. Which was great but there was also two big pickup trucks parked in the same area. That along with a few metal strips attached to the asphalt in the parking lot, I thought maybe his ring was under the trucks or too close to the metal to be found. However I kept swinging around, I  was in a paid parking lot and hadn’t paid. So when I saw the parking lot attendant walking around checking cars I knew I had better explain myself. He told me good luck finding it in the snow and went on about his work. Well I knew  better and watched him walk over to my car. Again I walked over too him and told him that was my car, he gave me a thumbs up and walked away. I, being a window cleaner and seeing how these parking lots work I knew I better make sure my car was not going to end up with a ticket. While I was walking around checking on the parking lot attendants whereabouts I was swinging my detector around the front of one of the big trucks. I have to say I was more focused on the attendant then Bryan’s ring. So I was surprised when my detector screamed at me and showed  a 30 vdi at 0 inches. I kicked the snow half hearted and the target moved. So I bent down and started moving the snow around. I saw the rim of the ring packed in snow and thought « Oh a quarter cool », but this quarter had a hole in the middle, and had an owner it was Bryan’s ring. I called Bryan when I got to the parking lot and called him back with his ring in my hand. It took about 10 minutes to find his lost ring which is amazing given the fact it was night time, 28 degrees, and that parking lot had not been plowed yet.

LOST TEXAS A&M RING FOUND & RETURNED NEAR KERRVILLE by CHRIS DEAN, TheRingFinders.com

Madi contacted me and said she lost her Texas Aggie ring at a Bachelorette party on the banks of the Guadalupe River (Kerrville, TX. area). She said she found my contact information on the TheRingFinders.com member directory. Madi was able provide a good description of where the ring might have been lost and even sent me a photograph of the area the ring should be located in. Due to the property being a vacation home I had to wait for the owners to return for the Thanksgiving weekend in order to gain permission for access.

I made contact with the property owners and set up a time on the Friday after Thanksgiving that I could conduct a search. They told me they had already purchased a metal detector to try to find the ring themselves but quickly found that without experience it was not fruitful. I assured them with my skills and the right equipment I would find the ring if is was there.

Friday turned out to be a gorgeous West Kerr County Chamber of Commerce type of day. A light breeze and the temperature nearing 80 degrees meant a short sleeve shirt. I arrived at the property and quickly did a reconnaissance of the area Madi had described. Lush green grass topped the ground meant the perfect place for a ring to hide!

After ground balancing my Garrett AT Pro I began sweeping the detector at the edge of the target area. It was quickly evident that there were many underground objects that made my machine sing. One pass in my grid line.  Two passes in my grid line. In the middle of my third pass – Bingo! That unmistaken tone of gold in my earphones. I looked down at the detector screen and saw the target ID at 76 and the target depth of 2-4″. I parted the grass and viola! Hidden from the naked eye was a ladies Texas A&M Class ring.

The return is worth a beautiful smile.  Gig’em!

Sounds easy, right? Not quite! It takes: Buckets of pull tabs, pounds of shredded aluminum cans and many hours of swinging the detector while learning the sound tones of different metals. Like a detective, asking the right questions to narrow the search area. And of course, lots of dollars spent in equipment.

So, if you lose your ring, jewelry, keys or even your cell phone don’t waste your time and money buying or renting a metal detector. Follow these simple steps to recover you lost items:

Tungsten Wedding Band Found! Ramsay Heights Edmonton Alberta

Roger e-mailed me yesterday asking if I could help him find his lost Tungsten wedding ring which he had lost last Friday while working to connect a cable line at a Condominium complex.

We arranged to meet this afternoon and Roger showed me the area that he was working at the time he lost his ring.  He told me that he had spent a couple of hours looking in the snow with no luck, so he googled « Lost Ring » and came across the TheRingFinders website and contacted me.  Within 30 minutes his ring was back on his finger.

Lost Iowa Hawkeye Lettermen Ring… Found Iowa City, Iowa

I received a call from Jim in early September about his lost Iowa Hawkeye Lettermen’s Ring. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1972 and lettered in track and had the ring to prove it until Sept. 2nd.

He and his family went to the Hawkeye football opener in Iowa City on Sept. 2nd. It was a hot sunny Iowa afternoon and Jim applied some sunscreen before the game and isn’t sure but later he thought he might have placed his ring on top of his car while applying the sunscreen and then forgot it.

He realized during the game that his ring was missing and of course they looked for it but couldn’t find it. On the way home his son was sitting in the backseat and heard something rattling around on top of the car. When he looked out the back window he thought he saw something gold hit the pavement and then go in the ditch. So he told Jim to stop he thought it was his ring that fell off the car.

They borrowed a metal detector and searched for 2 hours and didn’t find it. Later that week he found me online and contacted me and we met the next Sat. at the location. We had five of us searching with two metal detectors for over four hours and didn’t find it.

I went back on Sunday the next day for almost 3 hours and didn’t come up with it. For any of you who have attempted to search a road ditch you know how brutal it can be. There is always so much trash and the weeds are high, plus the traffic is distracting.

I had prior commitments and work for the next month of weekends but I finally made it back out there on Oct. 15th. I switched to my 6 inch coil to get through the weeds easier and separate through the trash. After an hour and a half I got a good signal next to a buried pop can and I found it!!

Lost platinum wedding ring found in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

« I was absolutely crushed when my wedding ring flew off into some very thick trees, bushes, ivy and other dark undergrowth when out jogging one evening. Unfortunately, I had been unable to see exactly what direction it had flown off in so had quite a wide search area of about 10 metres square to thrash through.
After a total of six hours (across the course of the evening when the incident happened and the morning after) of searching I had given up on ever seeing it again but decided to go online – just to see if I could get any last ideas of how I might find it and stumbled across Constantine’s profile. In short – he saved my life. I contacted Constantine in the morning and by the afternoon he had come up from Oxfordshire with his equipment. It took him about an hour to find the ring – deep under some brambles.

Diamond platinum engagement ring found in Warwickshire village!

I was contacted while on holiday by the husband of a lady who lost her ring while feeding her chickens.

The husband was quite upset as was she and there was talk of lots of hassles with the insurance company.

I was convinced it would still be there unless the chickens stole the ring!

After an extensive search of the garden and repeated searches in the shed, I found the ring in a sack of hay!

Very happy all round!

Lost gold ring found back in May near Reading

I recovered this gold ring after and extensive search of a garden near Reading, the compost pile had been scanned along with all the beds and under every bush etc. At first I hit a signal but it was too deep but I had to investigate as you do. This was a real bonus as out popped a lovely silver ring the the gents wife was very fond of so she kept it. Sorry but no pictures for this one.

A few hours later while searching in the vegetable patch I found the rather large gold ring! A very happy Professor!

Lost wedding ring in The Lake Of The Ozarks

So, the amazing wasp sting was not the only excitement from the 4th! The final chapter was closed today – and E and I can breathe a sigh of relief.

On Saturday, July 1, the day could not have started off any better, kids playing and getting along. Then Stacy Van Iten, Bob, and myself heard the « oh no! » from Erica. Drop…..splash……in goes her wedding ring, to the bottom of the lake of the ozarks! Lucky for us, it was less than 10′ under the dock. Unlucky for us, it was Ozark water.

No sweat, we have insurance. I looked for it with a colander for a while sifting through inches of leaves, nothing. We tried a magnet, no luck. We had an offer to wait till the water recedes and use a metal detector – good plan! We go on about our weekend with great friends.

Fast forward to July 3, we are on our way home, and reality set in. The ring meant more to us than a replacement, the engagement, the wedding, and the anniversary band! Tears started flowing down her cheek – I had to do more.

I called the local dive shop and hired them to dive down to search for it. I drove all the way home, turned around and drove back down to the lake to meet the diver in the morning of July 4th. JJ went down with scuba gear with no luck – over an 1.5 hour dive.

I was disheartened, but needed to do more. I get on https://theringfinders.com/ and search for all the individuals listed in MO: called and talked to a gentleman in Lee’s Summit, Warrensburg, and Cape Girardeau. It was only when I spoke to Paul J. Miederhoff that I was assured he could find it. He actually told me « piece of cake » and to tell Erica he will find her ring! Wow – let’s do it I thought!

On July 5th, Paul starts his journey to the lake. He arrives and it is raining so he waits a while. He dives for 2 hours with a metal detector no luck. Since he was so far away, I agreed to get him a hotel. He text me that night saying he would find it in the morning, « I am confident » he reassures me. At this point, erica and I were planning for the worse case scenario – buying a new ring.

On July 6th, Paul again show up to start the search. He dives and pulls of plenty of debris, nuts, and bolts. I go about my day at work, in meetings here and there. I walk back to my desk and my phone is ringing, it was Bob. I thought he was calling to tell me that Paul was done and they could not find it. He asks me « did I get his text » I said « what text? » He asked me to check to see if it was the ring, I was absolutely blown away – THEY FOUND IT!

A gentleman I had never met before, not paid a dollar – drove over 200 miles to search for a wedding ring that plunged into LOZ! « Piece of Cake » Paul saved a really important piece of « us »!
