I met James and Jasmine at their residence today to look for James wedding ring, and both Jasmine’s engagement and wedding ring. James said after accidentally losing their rings in the backyard he bought a metal detector at Academy and searched for the rings. James said he didn’t have any luck finding them.
Jasmine said soon after she located « The Ring Finders » on the internet.
Ring #1
Ring #2 and #3
James and Jasmine were happy to be re-united with their wedding rings

Bridgett was sitting on her front porch talking to her husband on the phone. She was a bit upset that he left for work without his wedding band. The emotions got the best of her and she ended up taking her ring off and throwing it into the front yard! She and her husband searched the entire yard and could not find the ring.
Lucky for her she went to the internet and looked up “how to find a ring in the grass”. SRARC’s Ring Finder number came up. She made the call and a team was put together. Mike Miller and Paul Hill arrived about 1 pm that very day. After about 30 minutes or so Bridgett went inside to check on her two little ones and started to cry thinking that they would not be able to find it. Shortly after she returned to the front porch Paul Hill asked her “if it looked like this?” She was so excited and relieved. What fun it was for us to be able to return a smile to her face.
I received a call from Danielle who explained she needed help finding her lost diamond wedding ring. Danielle said she had lost her wedding ring in her front yard while participating in some out-door activities.

I made the short trip over to Katy, Texas today and met with Danielle at her residence. Danielle identified the area of her yard that needed to be searched and provided me a description of her missing ring.
I worked a quick grid search of the yard and on the second pass hit a good signal. I paused trying not to alert Danielle of the recovery. I walked over to grabbed the GoPro and set it up to capture the moment.

I met Alex in the parking lot of the volleyball court today in the Galleria area of Houston. As I was gathering my equipment, Alex explained how he had spent three hours last night searching with no success. He said he gone to a nearby Home Depot and purchased a rack, a shovel, and a heavy duty screen to sift sand and he still couldn’t find his ring.
Alex said, later that evening his wife found my add on Craigslist, and followed my posted link to « The Ring Finders »
The search for Alex’s ring was quick, on my second pass I hit a really nice signal, and moments later Alex was holding his ring. Alex immediately called his wife to share the good news; it was very evident he was very happy to have his ring back.
Thank you, Alex

Jeff called me last week to tell me his son Aaron, lost his 2015 Hopkins H.S. class ring while feeding the ducks at Heritage Park pond. When he was preparing to throw some bread his ring fell off into the water. The water is about 5 feet deep with about 2 feet of muck. I told Jeff that because of the depth and muck it would be impossible for me to wade into the water and use my detector, so I told him I would consider another method and get back to him. Several years ago I made a scoop from an old flat snow shovel and some 1/4 in fencing. It was designed to drag along the bottom of a lake and sift the sand for rings and things. My detecting partner came up with a 12 foot handle made out of PVC pipe to put on it.
Saturday we went out to Heritage Park and tried our scoop out. Going on information from Jeff, he said his son threw out some bread underhand about 5 feet and into the water. After scooping several feet in about a 12 x 10 foot area the scoop worked very well but we came up with nothing but weeds. The scoop worked as well as we thought it would. I called Jeff and told him we didn’t have any luck. A few minutes later I got a call from Jeff’s son telling me the ring bounced on the deck and then went in the water. That changed things and we went back today to search along the base of the deck and after about 5 scoops we came up with the ring. It is so important to get a good set of events leading up to the item being lost.
Aaron’s dad is going to surprise him on A’s birthday on Nov 10. Today happens to be my 70th birthday and I consider this to be a birthday gift, I love finding rings for people.
On Saturday, Jason lost his diamond wedding band while doing yard work. Family and friends helped to search the yard. Someone even tried to find it with a metal detector, but they had no luck. Not knowing where to turn, his wife, Toni, decided to search the internet for help. She found my information and gave me a call on Monday. That evening, I searched the property for a few hours, mostly in the dark, but was unable to locate the ring. I assured Toni and Jason that I would be back early Wednesday to continue the search, expecting that it would take quite some time given the size of the property. Five minutes into the search, I located the ring in their lawn. Jason and Toni were delighted!
It’s been quite a while (Jan. 2014) since my last last blog, service request and recovery, but that is a good thing as no one wants to lose something precious or important to them. That changed when Anni contacted me last Wednesday after she lost her engagement ring the Saturday before. She was referred to me by someone who I’ve helped out in the past. That goes to show that people who you help out are truly appreciative and remember such things. As I usually like to do, I’ll let Anni tell you the story…..
During a family photo shoot in the park, my engagement ring slipped off my finger. I noticed it almost immediately but the park was large, the grass was thick and many leaves had fallen from the trees making it very difficult to locate where the ring may have fallen off.
After looking for the ring and being unable to find it, we borrowed a metal detector and spent the next few days using the metal detector for several hours each day trying to find the engagement ring. After two long days, our metal detector found two pennies, a gum wrapper and the tab to a soda can.
Using a community social media site, I reached out to see if anyone was aware of a “lost and found” office I could contact. Although there was no “lost and found” office, one person had referred me to a “professional ring finder” that had been able to successfully find her wedding ring that had been lost outside and covered in snow.
In desperation, I contacted Jim Wagner, “the professional ring finder,” to see if he would be able to help find my engagement ring. Although the ring had suffered through two days of heavy rain and been lost almost an entire week, Jim was confident he would be able to find the ring.
Jim was professional and responsive and met with us the very next day after contacting him. We had a general idea as to where the ring may have fallen, so he used that knowledge coupled with his experience as well as his high-end metal detecting equipment and was able to locate the lost ring within approximately 30 seconds. He found the ring in the same area we had already searched early in the week using our own metal detector.
I am eternally thankful. It is such a terrible feeling when you know you have lost something so dear to you and not sure if you will ever see it again. Jim was extremely professional, personable, prompt and helpful. He works with the top of the line equipment and has a real passion for finding things. Best of all, he genuinely wants to reunite people with their precious, lost valuables and he gets great satisfaction from helping people.
…..Thank you Anni for such a kind endorsement. It was a pleasure helping you and your husband locate the missing ring. Most of all, a big thank you to you and your family for your service and sacrifice for our Country!
We received a call from a young man saying that his wife had lost her wedding set at a beach on Lake Lewisville. The set was the wedding ring he had bought her and had been joined with her Grandmother’s prized wedding ring.
He said that they had been out on the lake near Dallas,Tx, and had anchored their family boat, along with many others. They had been enjoying the day floating, swimming and B-B-Q’ing on the beach and just enjoying the day. His wife stepped into the water just above her knees to rinse her hands and began shaking them to get the water off. At which point the rings flew off into the lake. They searched for hours with no luck.
In a last ditch effort he had Googled « Lost Ring at Lake » and the Ring Finders website appeared. He was very skeptical but called us anyway. He explained the situation and told us he would have to take us to the location by boat since there was no road access to the « Party Cove » beach location.
We met him and his brother & uncle on Sunday after church at the Marina and they took us by boat to the location where the ring was lost. The best thing he had done was to mark the beach where his wife had entered the water to give us a basic stating point. We immediately began using our Garrett ATPro Metal Detectors in the area adjacent to the beach. My wife and I were only there about 10 minutes when she said to me, ‘I have a good 52-53 signal, let’s check it out’. The lake bottom was full of mud and rocks so I used my heavy duty mud scoop and as soon as the basket came out of the water I saw the glitter of diamonds. I looked at my wife and said « you got it ». Our customer could not believe his eyes. He was extremely excited however his uncle thought it was amazing as he did not believe we could actually recover the ring. He is a believer now.
Beautiful day a the lake with great results for « The Ring Finders »
Subject: Wedding band lost in Lake Hello, I came across your website and was wondering if you could find my lost wedding band. I see you are in Houston. I live in the DFW area and lost my wedding band this weekend in Lake Lewisville. I have the exact location. It would require you to dive about 20-25 feet with scuba gear. I only had it for two months and I am willing to pay you for your services. Please let me know. Thanks.Richard
I contacted Don Wilson from The Ring Finders in Dallas and relayed the call information to him, and my interests in attempting a recovery. Lake Lewisville is in Don’s backyard and I knew he would know all the logistical aspects of the search location.
Don did all the ground work on this job, taking photographs of the search location, meeting with Richard at dock weeks prior, and making all the arrangement with the marina for our visit. Having the Dallas team present (Don and Ellen) and their son Tripp was the only reason this recovery attempt was even possible.
Don, Ellen, and Tripp thank you again for everything…
The dock in Lake Lewisville (the search location)
The depth 23″ feet, and after the 12′ mark total blackness down to the bottom at 23′, the bottom a soft silt mud. Utilized a custom made PVC dive pole to mark the primary search location from the surface. Used a boogie board leash as a lanyard attachment to the PVC pole ensuring I would not drift off of the search location (essentially cave diving in total darkness). The dangers in these black water dives is becoming entangled in or under one of the boat lifts or dock while ascending back to the surface.
You can see from the photograph above, overhead obstacles where a significant obstruction, basically you had to work your way under the lift to descend to the mark.
Now for the downside, after one hour and ten minutes of bottom time, I could not find that missing RING. The bottom of the boat slip at 23′ provided its own challenges, laden heavy with scrap material from the docks construction, and other large miscellaneous metal items made the search a real challenge.
The two lawn chairs above were fastened together with a cable lock and were an unexpected find at the bottom. I worked the bottom with a handheld Vibra-Tech 730 sifting through 4-5 inches of mud pulling up targets.
Large pieces of iron, cut pad locks, small nails and bottle tops were among the assortment of recovered items.
A short video illustrating the recovery location
It was a tough way to end the day, I always like finding the prize. The ring may be worth another look one day, but for now the ring belongs to the lake.

Maria and Dimitriy are visiting the area from the Netherlands. They were at Fort Desoto North Beach enjoying the beach and Sun. When the decided to go swimming, Dimitriy put both his and Maria’s wedding rings into his shorts pocket to keep them safe. After they returned from swimming they laid out in the sun warming up and tanning. Soon it was to hot so they decided to move back on the beach to where there was a shade tree. Later when they decided to leave Dimitriy put on his shorts and reached for the rings. They were no longer there!!!!!! They searched in the sand over the whole area they had been playing in, but had no luck. Dimitriy used his smart phone to search for metal detectors and soon found SRARC through The Ring Finders. Tom and Mike responded and after searching for about 10 minutes Mike found both rings hiding in the sand. They were very happy to have their wedding rings back on their fingers.
