Lost Wedding Band at Aulani Disney Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a voicemail from Steven who was on his Honeymoon from Los Angeles, California. While trying to entice his new bride Carolina into deeper water in the resort’s lagoon Steven’s Tungsten Wedding Band came off. Steven and his lovely wife tried to find it but as usual the sand consumed the ring and they were leaving the next day. It was late so I texted Steven that I was going to be at the Resort early the next morning and we could meet so he could show me whereabouts the ring came off. The area lined up nicely with shower stand and a tree. I went back and forth underwater from shallow to deep. The depth Steven remembered was up to his chin. After several shallow passes with no target I got a screaming tungsten tone. Surprisingly to me the ring was several scoops down into the sand already. As I went to the shower to rinse off along came Steven & Carolina…I told them I found a ring and it looked as Steven had described. Sure enough Steven confirmed it was his. Another Honeymoon ends on a happy note. Aloha to Steven & Carolina!

Lost ring in Lake Harris, Florida…..Found and Returned!

Dawn and her son, Tristen, were swimming at their favorite spot on Lake Harris and enjoying the cool water and digging clams. They would feel in the sand with their toes and when they found a clam they would dig it up and put it in their bucket. Now and then they would find old bottles and an assortment of junk. Some of the items were down right dangerous to be stepping on, especially in the water, and this made Dawn and Tristen tread very lightly. One of the clams was buried rather deeply in the sand and as Dawn tried to dig it up she actually felt her ring slip off of her finger. She frantically dug down into the sand trying to feel for it and after numerous failed attempts she gave up. This special ring was her son’s birthstone ring and Dawn had been wearing it for at least 8 years and now it was gone. Dawn’s heart was broken and she felt she would never see her ring again and that thought led her to do an internet search on « How to find a lost ring in the water »!
Dawn found one of my stories on theringfinders.com and sent me an email that morning. As she waited for my response she decided to just give me a call. I could tell by her voice how anxious she was to get her lost ring back, so I made arrangements to meet her later on that afternoon. If she was fairly sure of the exact location in the water and where she was standing when she lost her ring–then I told her that her lost ring was still there waiting to be found and that gave her some much needed HOPE!
Two hours later I met Dawn and Tristen at their special swimming location and as I waded into the cool water it was obvious why they loved this spot so much. The large cypress trees provided the perfect shade from the warm Florida sun and the sandy bottom felt so soft under my scuba boots. My first signal was the top of an old beer can and along with the aluminum target were various pieces of glass. Then my second signal was another piece of aluminum accompanied by more glass! I soon realized that this peaceful looking place could be very dangerous and I needed to be real careful. It took a total of maybe 10 minutes and there in my floating sifter, surrounded by pieces of glass and clam shells was Dawn’s beautiful ring! She was shocked that I had found it so soon but oh so thrilled to have her lost ring found.

White Gold Diamond Wedding Band Lost In Grass .. Near Disneyland, Anahiem,CA. .. Found

Brittany sent me a text about 4pm from Disneyland while waiting in line for one of the amusement rides. She had lost her wedding ring earlier that morning in a lawn near their hotel. She asked if I could help explaining they would be leaving tomorrow.
I called her to get some details, telling her that I could meet them after they return to their hotel later that night. She was able to send me an address where we could meet. We had a little delay meeting because it was Disneyland parking lots are very congested at closing time.
It was 10pm when Brittany’s husband Justin walked me to an small lawn in front of a RV park. That morning as they walked on a public sidewalk to a nearby restaurant Brittany made a jester with her hand and both rings of her wedding ring set went flying into the 8’x 20′ lawn area. They found the engagement ring on the sidewalk but after an hour searching the lawn they had to leave to share the day with their two children at Disneyland.
I thought this was going to be quick and easy. I got my CTX 3030 metal detector out of my car and started to search the lawn. A security guard walked up to me asking me to leave as this was private property. I asked him when the office would open in the morning, thinking it would not be a problem if I talked to the daytime manager.
We were sure the ring was there and it would not go anywhere before the next morning. I drove back the next morning to talk directly to the RV park manager. Again the same response that I got from the security guard, company policy would not allow me to use my metal detector on that small lawn. The manager did say we could look, but  » no metal detector. »
I tried to be polite thinking this may take days to go through the upper management to get proper permission. Nevertheless I went out the lawn and began a slow eyeball search. I did have a handheld pinpointer in pocket. ( it doesn’t look like a big metal detector).
It did take about a half hour on my hands and knees but the wedding ring showed up 8 ft. away from where the engagement ring was found. It was not in the grass. It was not visible and was under some leaves in shrubs.
Brittany had been busy with her two youngsters and trying to talk to the manager of the RV park. I met her as she was walking out to tell me thanks and that I shouldn’t look any longer. She had given up. I then showed her the ring which brought tears of joy to her face and a big smile.

Wedding Ring Lost at Ceremony Found and returned on Redington Beach, Florida

April and Tony came to Florida from Michigan to have a Beach Wedding and were joined by their families on Redington Beach just before sundown for the ceremony. As the ring bearer was making his way to the alter one of the rings fell off the pillow that he was carrying. The ceremony continued without the ring and afterwards someone brought a rake and started searching for the ring. Meagan one of the wedding planners, looked up the Ringfinders knowing that they had helped another couple find a lost ring two years ago on Sunset Beach. She called Tom Jones and asked if anyone could get there before dark to search for the ring. Tom and Joe headed out immediately and called Stan Flack to see if he could help with the hunt.
Upon arrival they ask what metal the ring was made of and got several answers from the family. Some said Silver, White gold and the most common answer was platinum. They started hunting the path that the wedding party had walked but did not find the ring. After expanding the search farther back on the path Tom got a good gold signal and up came the 14 K White Gold ring. The Bride and Groom were busy with the Wedding Photographer getting pictures as the sun was setting but took time out to show how grateful they were that the ring was found.

Wedding Ring Lost in Panorama City, CA…Found and Happily Returned.

I received a call from Joe this morning explaining how he had lost his wedding ring while washing his car yesterday, hoping I would be available to help him. He told me that the grass was  very deep, and to find the ring in that thatch was not something he was able to do. We arranged to meet at his house at 12:30 PM to conduct the search.

When I arrived I could see that the grass was deep, and definitely a good set up for my AT Pro with the 5×8 coil. A few passes around the area of the wash, with no ring, then time to move out. I was only working the edges Joe had shown me, ready to expand into the main lawn are if necessary, when I received a great hit in the head phones. I grabbed my Pro Pointer AT, stuck it in the grass, and pulled out Joe’s ring. I was able to hand him back his token of commitment which he wasn’t sure would be found again. His wife Sarah came out excited that the ring had been found. That is when I found out they had just been married 6 months ago. So precious is the ring with such a fresh memory, what a great day!

Lost wedding ring, St. Augustine, Florida….Found and Returned!

Rob gave me a call and asked if there was any way I could help him find his lost wedding ring. Apparently while herding some horses on a small ranch where he and his wife live and work, his ring slipped off of his finger and landed into the soft sandy Florida dirt. He was amazed at how fast it disappeared and even knowing about where it landed, his efforts to find his ring in the sandy soil were futile.
About a week later, while searching the internet, Rob found one of my search and recovery stories on theringfinders.com web site. And that’s when he discovered that there is an amazing service of metal detectorists who help people find their lost rings.
As Rob explained what happened the day he lost his ring, I felt quite confident that his lost ring could be found. And this was great news to Rob! Especially as he had only been wearing it for two months.
Two hours later I arrived at the small horse ranch and met Rob. As I gathered my gear and followed Rob down a narrow sandy trail- I could not help but notice how peaceful and quiet a place this was. The smell of fresh straw and the unmistakable odor of horses gave me a calm feeling of being way out in the country. As we got closer to the gate, Rob showed me exactly what he did the day he lost his ring. The area was no more than 15 feet square and would not take long to search. And sure enough I walked no more than 5 feet when I got my first signal. It came in around 16 on my Whites DFX metal detector and I was almost certain it was Rob’s lost ring. And as I kicked back the sand, there was Rob’s ring. So glad to be able to help you Rob and it was a pleasure finding your ring!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Engagement Ring at Makapu’u Beach…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I received a text from my wife as I returned from a ring find on Kaneohe Sand Bar. Miriam who lives in Waikiki told my wife she lost her Gold and Diamonds Engagement Ring in the dry sand at Makapu’u Beach the past Saturday. It’s a small beach on the East coast near Sea Life Park. I know a buddy named Steve hits that beach regularly so I thought maybe he would have found it if I don’t. I told Miriam I could meet her at the Coco Marina Center and we could drive down to the beach together to find her ring. All went as planned and we went down to the beach to hunt. Miriam wasn’t exactly sure where the ring was lost but gave me the general area which was over half a football field in size. Only one way to tackle this get moving Joe. Long story short and several targets later I got a sizzling tone and there in the scoop was a gorgeous ring. I told Miriam, « I found a ring but its much nicer than the one you described. » « That’s it », she exclaimed. Perfect lets get out of this heat. Total hunt time about 30 minutes. Miriam told me she had prayed for the ring’s recovery that morning. I assured her prayers work! Aloha and blessings to Miriam.

Sportsman Park, White Cloud, Michigan, wedding ring recovered

Two weeks ago I got a Facebook message from my cousin Tammy M. telling me I may get a call from a guy who lost his ring. I waited a week and no call so I messaged Tammy and asked if he had found his ring yet, she said she would contact him. I got a call yesterday from Mark D. saying that he had been very busy putting in docks at his Sportsman Camping grounds on Hardy Pond. He has over 80 slips that he was putting in the day he lost his ring. He had just put down a piling when his wedding ring came off in about 4 feet of water. He had lost some weight and his wife asked him why was he wearing his ring, if he didn’t wear it now he probably would never wear it.

Marks wife was with him when the ring was lost and she said don’t worry we will get another. He didn’t want another because that ring was important to him. He looked down at where the ring went in and he could see it on the rim of the post that he had just placed in the water. « I tried to slowly bring up the post but the suction from the water and sand pulled it off the rim » Mark tried to rake around the sand to no avail.

Two weeks passed and Mark finally had the time to call me and the next day my Ring Finder partner Dave Boyer and I got on the scene. The water was shallow enough for waders and we pulled up the iron post holding up the dock after bracing it up with a car jack a few feet down fro m where we wanted to search. After running the detector around the area we got a good signal and dug several times. We finally recovered a 1977 quarter. We got another signal and after a couple scoops there was the ring.

Mark was a very happy man and said we could come to the campgrounds anytime to detect the beach and search around the docks. It was nice meeting and talking to a great entrepreneur like Mark.
