Jasmine and her fiancé, Graham, were guests at a family wedding at the New York Yacht Club on Saturday.  While socializing with other guests on the lawn, Jasmine waved her hand and her diamond engagement ring flew off.  Jasmine, Graham, and other guests searched the lawn with flashlights but couldn’t locate the ring.  On Sunday morning, Graham found The Ring Finders website and called me for help.  I drove to the yacht club and searched the lawn area for a few hours before Jasmine and Graham had to leave.  They were discouraged, but I told them I wouldn’t give up the search.  Over an hour later, I located the ring deep in the grass and called them with the good news.  We made arrangements to meet them in Massachusetts, and Jasmine was thrilled to have the ring back on her finger!

Titanium Gents Wedding Ring Lost & Found In Swanage Bay

When Dom Gernon and family of Luton, Beds witnessed his daughters favorite ball slowly drifting out to sea after a day on Swanage Beach heroically he swam out 50 meters to rescue it. Unfortunately in pursuit of the ball he felt his wedding ring slip from his finger and sink beneath 10 feet of water. He tried in vain searching later with a mask and snorkel but unfortunately depth and visibility were against him. I too tried later but the task was impossible and we decided to await the low tides in a few days. We knew the rough location but considering the water would still be 4 feet deep and murky I knew it was not going to be easy.
Over a week later the low tides arrived but a two hour evening searched brought nothing bar some old coins. At dawn the next morning I searched two more hours again concentrating on the periphery of my search area. The remains of a dead crab caught my eye. Its legs, body and claws lay scattered and almost in the middle lay the distinctive round shape of a ring. Without even using the CTX my scoop gathered the ring and remains of the crab and a quick check of the inscription it was the ring I was hunting. This was another example of ‘the Ring found me’!

Chase called me this morning to give me a chance for an early morning swim.  His wedding band had fallen off the evening before and after trying to sift through the oyster shells and black silt under the dock Chase called off the hunt.  I knew the area where he had lost his ring and was on my was as soon as possible.  I must admit that I was a bit surprised at how deep the water under the dock was as it was every bit of 5 foot deep as I started the quest.  After pulling up a can tab, I found another strong signal.   It took a few more scoops in the murky water and I was quite pleased to find Chase’s ring laying in my scoop!

Chase’s story:

My wife and I were on our vacation having a great time until my ring slipped off my finger and splashed under the pier.  I had the worst feeling in my stomach not knowing if I’d ever see the ring again.  I started searching the internet and found. Theringfinders.com. I thought what are the chances I could find a guy in Emerald Isle NC.  Then popped up Steven Ray.  Steven answered the phone at 7:30 AM and found my ring before 8:30 AM.  I was so relived that Steve answered the phone and found my ring.

A couple weeks ago I was out doing some random metal detecting for fun and to keep skills up. Found lots of interesting things and a big shiny ring came up! It was a class ring from a nearby high school with the year 2008 on it. It didn’t take much work to clean it up and it was still in brand new condition. Inside the ring it was engraved with the person’s name….very smart of him! My girlfriend found him on Facebook and we made arrangements to meet and give his ring back. He was very happy and had no idea where he had lost it.

Lost Platinum & Diamond Engagement Ring at Ko Olina Aulani Disney Resort…FOUND!!!

After a morning hunt I returned to my truck at Hilton Hawaiian Village and there was a voicemail waiting for me. My wife Wendy called and said I had a ring find and she had a number for me to return a call. I called Chris from Makakilo, Hawaii who told me his wife Michelle lost her engagement ring in the sand at Aulani Disney Resort. She had taken her rings off and set them on a towel on her lap to apply suntan lotion. When she finished and stood up the rings fell out of the towel. One landed on her lounge chair the other was no where to be found. Chris & Michelle carefully combed the sand most of the rest of the day and Chris came back the next morning still with no luck finding the ring. Then he searched YELP and that’s how he found me. He asked if I rent metal detectors and I said no I do the search myself. Unless you have experience using a metal detector in Hawaii I don’t recommend renting. Too many variables. Use a ring finder expert. Chris agreed and we decided to meet at the Disney resort after Chris & Michelle ate breakfast. I met Chris in the public parking lot and we walked down to the beach where the ring was lost. Fortunately the tourists occupying the seats Chris & Michelle had used the day prior were so accommodating and moved so we could get the metal lounge chairs out of the search area. Chris demonstrated how Michelle lost the rings. The Wedding Band landed on the lounge chair but the Engagement ring disappeared. Since the rings were together on the towel I looked immediately in the sand below where the other ring landed. No such luck. Next I started a grid search in the 10 by 15 foot grid. Surprisingly there were five targets 3 cents, a dime and a piece of foil but no ring. I decided to expand the search down slope and that’s when I got a faint but excellent tone. Two scoops down and there was Michelle’s gorgeous solitaire diamond Platinum ring. It was tiny no wonder the tone was faint. It was about 10 feet from where the other ring landed. Either during their search or the initial fling threw the ring down slope. Not always as we imagine. Chris and I met Michelle in the parking lot he hadn’t told her I found the ring. She thought she was going to meet the detectorist. When Michelle arrived after an initial greeting Chris couldn’t hold back he held up Michelle’s ring to her pleasant surprise. She gave him and I a warm hug and a sigh of relief was obvious. Nice way to end my Saturday. Aloha to Michelle & Chris!

Lost Mens Platinum Wedding Band Found On Lewes Beach In Delaware

On 07/08/16, I was contacted by a gentleman regarding the loss of his Platinum « Jeff Cooper » wedding band with a Diamond that was lost on Lewes Beach in Delaware. I was told that he was in about two to three foot of water when his daughter reached up to grab his hand at which time she accidentally pulled his wedding band off of his finger and it fell into the water. The gentleman stated that he was no more then ten feet in the water from the shore. The gentleman told me that on the day and time that his ring was lost that he believed that it was mid high tide. Trying to make the best of the lowest tide possible I responded to Lewes Beach on the morning of 07/12/16 at about 8:10 am. I found that the low tide water line was about ten to twelve feet from the high tide water line. I began my grid search after marking an area that was about ten feet wide from the low tide water mark up to the high tide water mark by about twenty feet long. About half way through my grid search just inches above the low tide water line I received a good tone in my headset. I took one scoop out of the wet sand and dumped it on the beach. About half way through the mound of the scooped sand I located the lost ring. The rings owner was from out of town, I made contact with him to let him know that his wedding band had been found and also to find out what arraignments he wanted to make with me regarding the return of his ring. The rings owner was very happy that his ring had been found and he requested that I keep it safe until it could be returned to his wife nine days later. The ring was returned safe and sound on 07/21/16.

Wedding Band Lost on Emerald Isle Point Recovered Days Later

Jeff contacted Emerald Isle Metal Detecting Thursday morning regarding his lost wedding band.  Jeff stated he was near the water’s edge at the time of the loss. During the time of loss another man had found the ring in the water but lost it again in the waves.  I contacted Jeff and we made arrangements to meet just minutes after contact.  I started my search while Jeff set up beach items for his family to enjoy their day in the sun.  Jeff was keen to mark where the man dropped the ring in the surf with a stationary object and this was very helpful.  Within minutes and my 3rd target dug, I found Jeff ring that was sitting on the beach for 4 days.

Please remember as Jeff did all information during the time of the lost item.  Location, time, weather conditions, etc.

Jeff Story:

My first day on the Emerald Isle beach I put on tons of suntan lotion and went to throw a ball at the water’s edge. After finishing I went to get a drink of water and noticed my wedding ring was missing.  I went back to look for it but couldn’t find it. After 4 days searching, I contacted Steve before leaving town.  He was responsive, professional and available to search the morning I contacted him. After referencing the tide pattern, he found my ring under about a foot of sand within 30 minutes of starting his grid search.  I was surprised how quickly he was able to find it, but greatly relieved and pleased the search was successful.  Jeff

14K Gold Mother’s Ring Lost in the Surf, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

Two hours from home after a week long vacation I get a phone call from Don H. asking if I could help find his wife Diane’s Mothers ring that she lost around 8pm the night before. The connection wasn’t very good so I told him I’d call him back around 2pm and would be there between 4 and 5pm. During our broken conversation I thought he gave me the name of a resort that it was in North Myrtle Beach, however when we talked at 2 he said the resort was in Myrtle Beach. I got all the details from Don and called Matt Fry (TRF Myrtle Beach) not sure whether he was still out of town or not. During Don’s and my conversation he told me that his wife lost her ring between 9 and 9:20pm not at 8 like he originally said so I needed to leave home within about 20 minutes to catch the tide. When I called Matt he didn’t answer so I assumed he was still out of town and left. I was within 15 minutes of arriving at the resort when Matt called back, saying he was in town but to go ahead and take it.

I arrived in the parking lot and Don showed up shortly afterwards to show me the exact area. Don also explained that they were down from Minnesota for the Myrtle Beach annual cheerleading competition with one of their daughters and they all needed to be at the convention center. I worked it out with Don that I’d surprise Diane and that when I found her ring, I’d text him with a picture and then deliver it the convention center.  When I walked out on the beach it was packed with tourist and needless to say I had an audience watching me search. About 4 gridlines and calf deep in the water I got a strong 46-47 on my AT Pro along with a few other junk tones. Luckily I got the ring in the first scoop, dumped it out on the sand and immediately saw the gold. I texted Don with a picture and he immediately replied with a 100% it’s hers!! I’m not sure what Don told Diane to get her out front away from her cheerleaders but she didn’t look happy when I introduced myself. I think he told her I bumped their car in the parking lot. But I told Diane that Don had told me that she had lost her Mothers ring and if she could describe it that it would help me know what I was looking for. As she finished with her description, I held up her ring and said « Does it look something like this? » Her expression was priceless, there were a few tears of joy and the hugs were strong and sincere. She had to make a quick exit to get back to the girls but she was one happy lady!!! It just doesn’t get any better than this.

14K White Gold Engagement Ring Lost in the Surf, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

I received an e-mail shortly before 10pm on Thursday, July 21st from Zanita W. requesting help finding an Engagement Ring that had slipped off her finger in the water about 4 hours earlier. Zanita was here with her family on vacation from Indiana and was leaving on Saturday. I noticed in the e-mail that she also included Matt Fry (TRF Myrtle Beach). I contacted Zanita and got a few more details that included the name and location of the resort they were staying at. This resort was in Matt’s area so I called him to make sure he saw the e-mail. When he answered his phone I told him the situation but unfortunately he was stuck in Atlanta on his 3rd delayed flight out west and wasn’t available. I’m still on vacation and 800 miles away so I tried contacting Jim Brouwer, a friend who was filling in for me while I was gone. He didn’t answer so I sent him both a text and an e-mail with all the details knowing that he was probably asleep and was going to wake up very early to catch the low tide somewhere. I’m asleep and hear my text alert go off at 1:45am from Jim saying he’s on it. At 3:39am I get another text alert from Jim saying « I found it ». I called Jim and asked him to send me a picture so I could forward it to Zanita saying it was found. That morning I called Zanita around 8:30am, waking her up, with the good news. She couldn’t have been happier. I gave her Jim’s number and they arranged to meet later that morning.

2 Rings Lost in the Wet Sand, Found and Returned Sunset Beach NC

I got a call from Brett A. a little before 3pm on Thursday, July 21st saying he lost 2 rings in the wet sand and asked if I could help. Unfortunately I was 800 miles away on vacation but I had pre-arranged with a good friend, Jim Brouwer to respond in my absence. I got Brett’s number and location and called Jim, who immediately responded and was on scene within an hour. Jim called me back in about an hour and a half saying that Brett put him right on the spot and within 3 gridlines Jim had the first ring and a couple of swipes later had the second ring. He said Brett made the comment that he was glad he was wearing sunglasses and then Brett immediately called his wife with the good news.

Great job Jim B. (pictured on the right). Thanks for filling in for me and putting a smile on someone’s face!!!
