Lost Wedding Ring – Pensacola, FL – FOUND!!!

  • from Orange Beach (Alabama, United States)

So apparently Pine straw is out there trying to steal some rings so be careful. 😃. A few days ago I received a call from Bill. Actually backing up, Shelly, Bill’s wife had heard about me from a friend and messaged me through Facebook. After a quick reply, she had Bill call me. Bill described that he had been working in the yard putting out some pine straw when he looked down and saw that his ring was missing. Bill had been wearing that ring for the last 38 years so I was willing to bet that he noticed it was gone quicker than most people would have. When I told him how I could help he decided he wanted me to come try even though he wasn’t 100% sure that it was in the yard. I was pretty sure that I could find it and I was determined to try. What Bill didn’t realize is that when I saw the address I noticed that he lived in the neighborhood next to mine. If there is one thing I like even more than helping people find a ring, it’s helping a neighbor find their ring. When I got there, I switched to the pinpointer coil so that I could get down between the bushes and Bill went back inside to let me concentrate. He didn’t have to wait long and was beside himself when I knocked on his door and told him his ring was perched on my detector by the tree (Covid safe 😷👍). He was even more surprised when he went to talk about a reward and I explained that I literally could have cut through the neighborhood and walked there. I wouldn’t take anything from my neighbor and new friend. I’m so happy that I could help!  Merry Christmas to you both Bill and Shelly!  God bless!

Lost Diamond Ring in Houma, LA. – FOUND

  • from Lafayette (Louisiana, United States)
Contact:

Carrie got a call from Johnney about 9 am. Her 87 year old Mom had lost her diamond ring while working in her flower bed. With nothing going on for us at the time, we jumped in the truck and drove the 2 hours to Houma. The hunt area was pretty small, so Carrie grabbed her pin pointer to hunt the flower bed and Sid went for the detector to check the lawn around the flower bed. Carrie came up with a hit and the find within 5 minutes. Fast, but not a record for her. Needless to say Johnney and Mom were thrilled, with smiles and (even though we were not supposed to) hugs being shared. Old stories and a couple of pictures capped off our visit.

Thank you for the generous reward!

Brian had decided to take his dog out for a short walk behind his house and as he walked around the small lake he noticed how loose his ring was on his finger. He and his fiancee had bought promise rings for each other and they each wore their ring faithfully for two years. Brian had recently bought her an engagement ring therefore she no longer wore her promise ring and Brian sort of took up the habit of wearing her ring on his index finger on his left hand and just a few days earlier he jammed his finger so the ring was getting to tight and uncomfortable. So he tried wearing it on his ring finger and it sort of fit but was just a little loose. Add a little loose fit and some cool weather and Brian was setting himself up for his ring to fall off and that is exactly what happened. Somehow while Brian was playing with his dog he swung his arm to the side and he actually felt his fiancees promise ring go flying. Even though it was daylight Brian had no idea where the ring went and he searched for quite a while before finally giving up. The worse part was that he felt really bad about loosing his fiancees promise ring and he wanted to get it back ASAP because of the huge sentimental value it held.

His next thoughts were along the line of using a metal detector so he decided to try a search for « Metal Detector Rental » on his phone and up came theringfinders.com and one of my stories. Brian gave me a call and then sent me his address and a few hours later I was grid searching the exact area where he lost his ring. This area is a new construction area and the ground was signal free…with not a grunt or beep to be heard anywhere. Iron sounds as a grunt and non-ferros signals give a beep on my Garrett ATMax metal detector. As I was finishing up the 20 foot square area I got a great signal, crisp and clean, and there hiding in the grass was Brian’s promise ring! The relief was obvious on Brian’s face as he scooped up the ring and put it back on his finger! I thanked God for allowing me to find Brian’s special ring and for the privilege of being a member of theringfinders.com!

Wedding Ring Found on Roadside Near Bangor, MI

  • from Holland (Michigan, United States)
Got a call from Tracy saying she lost her wedding ring out the window of her car. She and Mike, her husband, were driving down the road when they spilled some ice in the center console cup holder. Tracy grabbed the cup holder insert and threw the ice out the window. Oops, she forgot she had taken off her ring and put it in that cup holder. The next day they went back to look for the ring in daylight. Lying in the gravel beside the road they found the pad that had been in the bottom of the cup holder. Good! The ring must be nearby! But they didn’t find it.
So yesterday Mike took me to the area the ring was lost and I searched for about 2 hours until darkness shut me down. I told Mike I’d be back with reinforcements.
Today Gregg Larabel, Tom Cleary and I were determined. (And it really is a lot more fun when you have somebody searching with you.) On arriving on site we decided who would look where, and in about 15 minutes I found the ring about 5 feet from the gravel shoulder, nestled down in the thick gnarly grass — and about 20 feet from where they found the cup holder pad. I can’t be sure why I missed it yesterday, but it could just have been that I came at it from a different angle, making the « masking » effect of roadside debris less pronounced.
Tracy was at work. so we texted her for the address so we could deliver her ring to her. She came outside and we all celebrated the return of her ring. We took a few pictures on this beautiful December day and everybody went on with their day with a big smile on their face.

Lost Ring Old Orchard Beach, Maine. A ring finding tale in reverse.

  • from Rockport (Maine, United States)

Most of my Ring Finder post stories begin with someone contacting me to come search an area where they lost a ring. In this case however I found a ring while casually detecting at Old Orchard Beach and then had to try track down the owner. A plea on Craigslist and in the Friends of Ocean Park FB page asking for anyone who had lost a piece of jewelry on the beach to contact me with a description did result in a few inquires, including the person who lost it while vacationing. He gave a description along with sending a photo from their wedding album to confirm. The 14k gold band is now back in New Hampshire on the finger of a man named Dave where it belongs. Dave needed a Ring Finder, and luckily a Ring Finder found his ring and then found him, because the road to reuniting someone with their lost jewelry is sometimes a two way street.

I received a call from Russ who found my contact information on the Ring Finders website. Russ’s girlfriend had lost a diamond earring in the yard of their home. She was certain that the earring fell from her ear as she was walking around outside after dark talking on her cell phone. They searched for a while with a flashlight but could not locate the earring.

I went to the home the following day and after confirming with Russ that the house and all vehicles had been thoroughly searched, I began grid sweeping the thick St Augustine grass in the area where Russ’s girlfriend thought it most likely she had dropped the earring. I made several adjustments to my Equinox as apparently this area contained a lot of junk from the fairly recent construction of the house. After about an hour of search, we expanded the search area into the second most likely area of the yard. Two hours and several additional search areas later, I had failed to recover the earring, just finding several pieces of scrap. I asked Russ to search his home and vehicles again as well as talk to his girlfriend about other possible locations to search. Russ also said that he would have his girlfriend who was not home at the time provide me with a photo of the other earring in the pair when I returned to search again in the next day or so.

Several hours after I returned home, I received a text from Russ, and you guessed it, he had found the lost earring in his home under a ledge in the shower! (For reasons that I can not include in this post I was not able to obtain a photo of the earring). Russ said that even though I didn’t find it, I brought him good luck.

Russ, thank you for allowing me to assist you in your search for your girlfriend’s earring and for rewarding me for my efforts.

Lost Gold Cartier Love Ring at Hale Koa Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a call from Daniel who lives in Honolulu. While enjoying the day and playing volleyball on the Hale Koa beach his girlfriend Kiana lost her Gold Cartier Love ring in the water while going after a stray ball. They searched for about an hour but never found the ring. His friend told him to Google search and that’s how he found the ring finders. I told Daniel I could grab my gear and be there in 15 minutes. When I arrived Daniel introduced me to Kiana and she proceeded to show me how she lost the Love ring which was so small she actually wore it as a toe ring and felt it come off as she ran into the water. We set the grid lines and I started the search. Kiana only went five feet into the water which was waist deep. On the second leg of the grid I got a nice tone in the wet sand and in one scoop there was Kiana’s Gold Love ring. I let her reach in and retrieve the ring and then she asked if she could give me a hug. But of course! She said the ring had strong sentimental value to her and she was very thankful for the successful search. Aloha to Kiana & Daniel!

Lost Wedding ring found in Kelowna Horse Arena

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)

Natalie spent an hour riding her horse around the arena, when she got home she noticed that her white gold wedding ring was missing.

Her husband found The Ringfinders site and sent me an email, I responded the next day and met Natalie at 4pm when the classes for the day were finished.

I started gridding the arena, fortunately there was very little metal junk in the arena and with 30 minutes we had the ring back on her finger.

Lost Gold Ring Found In Royal Oak Michigan

Hang’Em High!

Unfortunately, this is not a story about lost jewelry or outlaw loot found for Marshal Jed Cooper played by Clint Eastwood, but rather begins in a quiet city outside Detroit when I received a call from Karen who said her son had lost his wedding band while hanging Christmas lights high up on the house to surprise his wife when she got home. Although she was thrilled to see them high up in place, the mood changed when she learned of the missing ring which he’s had for less than a month. When I arrived he was not sure where the ring could be as he was traversing the whole yard multi-tasking. It was a small yard so it didn’t take long to search the back and sides which revealed nothing. Searching the front of the house where he was hanging the lights also revealed nothing. As I started to search further out my MXT sounded off on a metal object. Close to the underground water line I thought it may have been the water shut off but the signal was much smaller. Brushing a leaf aside revealed this shiny gold ring that was slightly compressed into the ground inches away from the sidewalk and at least 15 feet from the house! Pausing for a moment I waved Karen over who thought I was taking a break as did her son who was out by the garage. I pointed down and a huge smile was on her face. She said how’d it get way out here? I was puzzled myself and when her son got to us and reached down to pick it up he said wow that’s weird, it must have come off and stepped on when I was stretching the lights out. Now that made more sense. All was thrilled that the mystery of the missing ring was unraveled and now things are really looking a lot like Christmas!

Lost Engagement Ring found in Hopedale MA

  • from Charlestown (Rhode Island, United States)

On November 10, 2020, I received an e-mail from Jimena about her lost engagement ring.  She and her fiance Ivan were raking leaves two days earlier, and at some point, she noticed that her engagement ring was missing. They knew the ring had to be either in their yard or where they had dumped leaves.  Jimena and Ivan even bought a metal detector but couldn’t find the ring. That’s when Jimena searched the internet for help and found me through The Ring Finders website.  The next day,  I searched several areas, including an area across the street from their home where they dumped leaves and their front and side yards, with no luck.  Before searching the backyard,  I decided to search a pile of yard waste located at the far end of their yard, where Jimena said she had thrown some of the leaves.  I got into the pile of sticks, grass, and leaves and started my search.  The second target I hit, buried in the leaves, was the beautiful engagement ring.  Jimena and Ivan were so happy to have the ring back before their wedding, which was the next month.  I’m glad that I was able to find the ring and wish them a long and happy marriage.
