Found Class Ring in the Vermont Snow

Closing out 2020 on a good note!

I got a call from a fellow from Texas who was visiting Vermont with a close group of friends. A couple days ago they were having some fun by having a snowball fight. When he threw a snowball at a friend, he thought he felt his ring fly off.

This ring was extremely sentimental to him because it was a class ring from the college he graduated from, Texas A and M. He had worked very hard to graduate and this ring represented his efforts. He told me he didn’t want a replacement ring, because it wouldn’t be the same.

The ring was very heavy and his fingers were cold, the perfect combination for losing it. All his awesome friends helped search for hours, they knew how much it meant to him. His mother, back in Texas, wanted to help somehow, she found The Ring Finders online, and saw Vermont had some members.

It was a very cold night, around 15 degrees, but the ring was lost in a public place, so I knew the search needed to be done ASAP. I got there, he showed me the search area and I got started. The ground was full of signals, many which shared the same numbers as gold would on my detector. After about an hour I got a good signal right on the very edge of a steep bank which dropped off into the river. It was his ring! Someone’s foot had pressed it deep into the snow and leaves. When I brought it to him, he and a dozen friends all cheered loudly. They were all so happy for him!

Diamond and platinum Wedding band lost at Coral Springs , Florida… found and returned to owner

I got a call from a client Ron who was very upset about visiting a neighbors house and having his fiancé loose a Platinum Diamond engagement ring . He asked me if I could come over to Coral Springs to find his Platinum ring. He stated that he had been searching for it since Christmas Day with metal detectors . I came over about 0900 the next day. He kept asking me whether it flew off his fiancés finger into a nearby lake.. I really thought 20 feet was too far away . I began searching and after a few targets like the sprinkler system. I finally got the  prize target. He was soooo Happy .. and I felt very good also. What a good Christmas present although a little bit late.

Mia’s Diamond Stud Earring – Lost, Found, Returned in Kerrville, Texas

I received a message from Mia requesting help in finding her lost diamond stud earring. Mia explained that she was positive she lost her earing in the living room or bedroom of her home. She said that she had gone through all her clothes and bedding and in the living room she had even vacuumed the rug (and checked the vacuum canister). She had not found the earring but was truly clear and concise of where she thought she lost it. I knew that the size of the precious metal around the diamond would be extremely hard to detect but decided it was worth a shot anyway. My wife, Kathy, went with me to Mia’s home. Mia showed us into the living room with beautiful oak flooring. Adjoining the sofa was a 5’x8’ double shag rug. Mia said she felt that the earring might have fallen into the deep shag rug. Running my AT Pro pick up every nail in the wood flooring and checking my pro pointer with other earring yielded not sound at all. At this point I thought the only way to find the ring would be a visible search. After combing through the rug for several minutes Kathy said to turn the rug over and beat on it! Sure enough, after following my wife’s instructions there was the earring on the floor! Mia was happy to get her earring back and I was glad I followed my wife’s instructions. Lost Vehicle Key FOB and Keys Found In The Snow In Ypsilanti Michigan

Jingle All The Way…..

…….Got a call from Rhalon saying she lost her keys in the snow while cleaning some debris along her fence yesterday after enjoying the Christmas holiday. When I arrived I noticed that the 70 foot long fenceline had leaf cover, bushes, pickers and thorns making it impossible to swing a metal detector. Learning the keys had pink and red covers along with a coiled red wrist lanyard and green tag on the ring I started to do a line of sight search carefully walking on both sides of the fence to see if I could see any of the colors. No luck, so I started to probe with my pin-pointer where I could find space. As Rhalon was looking in other areas of the yard I slowly and methodically swept the pin-pointer in between the needle sharp thorns and fenceline, each time the probe signaled, I’d scrape the icy ground where I could see if it was the keys or the fence I was detecting. Nearing the end of the row, the pin-pointer signaled. I scraped thru the snow and heard a metal clink as I pulled the object closer, I saw a green tag and the red, pink key covers! Full of pickers, I stood up and jiggled the keys. As Rhalon whirled around I exclaimed Jingle Jingle! Getting back on solid ground she said….. now that’s the jingles I love to hear and was very happy that the keys were found as there was no spares. I said the key to unlocking the mystery of her lost keys was Lock-ation! Lock-ation! Lock-ation!

Eric was playing catch in the waves with his  nephew.  Because of  sun screen his ring flew off. He marked the area. He searched I lost my ring on the internet! Of course he found  Ring Finders and me.  I went to location and recovered ring. Happy Ending.

Lost and Found Gold wedding ring on Sanibel island

I was hunting at the beach in a few feet of water with a friend. When we came across a man snorkeling for his lost wedding band. I searched for only a few minutes and recovered his ring.  He had never heard of ringfinders before but knows all about us now.

I got a call from a couple that had just lost a wedding band. She had been picking up yard clippings and found red ants. Shaking her hands franticly rings came flying off. They located the engagement ring but not the wedding band.. I was near by location and had metal dector, wife and puppy with me. After hunting for a half hour or so… my wife and puppy came up the driveway with the ring. It must of hit the the driveway , bounced and rolled ending up in the middle of the street. A find is a find!!

Rocco had spent his Sunday afternoon cleaning up their back patio area using his pressure washer to wash away the Florida mold and dirt. It was a wet and soapy job and his large gold and diamond ring felt a little loose on his pinky finger but he wanted to finish up so he headed to the dumpster to throw out an old rusty grill. The dumpster lids were both closed so Roccco grabbed one of the lids and with force, threw it open and that very motion plus the wetness from the pressure washing, caused his ring to go flying. He actually caught a glimpse of the ring as it went up into the air but he was not sure as to which direction it went. Frantically he searched all around the outside of the dumpster, thinking surely it landed either inside the fenced area or just over the fence and into the grass. For a good hour he searched high and low but was unable to locate his large gold and diamond ring. So his next thought was that maybe it fell down into the dumpster itself and looking thru other people’s garbage is never fun but Rocco knew he needed to do it so he went thru what he could but still–NO RING!

Frustration and then mild panic began to set in and Rocco thought of looking for someone to help him and that led him to search « Lost Jewelry Recovery » on his phone and theringfinders.com web site came up and one of my recent recovery stories. Rocco could not believe that there actually were people out there that help find lost rings. It was late Sunday afternoon when Rocco called me and we met an hour and a half later and I began my search. I have had some tough and challenging searches in the past 11 years and this one comes in right close to the top! It was dark, the no-see-ums were biting and I was looking thru piles of garbage. I detected all around the dumpster and out at least 30 feet past the wooden fence area thinking it flew allot further than first thought. Next was the garbage in and around the dumpster. I emptied every bag thinking that just maybe his ring fell into the top of one of the bags but still–NO RING!

After looking in almost every possible place his ring could have gone…there was one area in the front of the dumpster that I figured I needed to search. It was way to thick to get my metal detector to be of any use so I opted to use one of my really strong flashlights. I was hoping that just maybe I could get a glimpse of gold or a sparkle from the diamonds and sure enough as I crawled on my hands and knees under the thick bush I caught a tiny glimmer of reflective light. My pulse quickened as I strained to make out what I was looking at. I let out a holler and went to get Rocco to give him the GREAT NEWS!

How thankful I am that God allowed me to be a help and a blessing to Rocco and for showing me where his ring was hiding. Every search is a challenge and some are much harder that others but either way I do my very best to find what has been lost.

Lost ring Warwick NY… Found

I received a call from a very upset woman who had lost her wedding ring in the parking lot of the Ford dealership in Warwick, NY.  She said that it was in a grassy area not too close to the cars, so I hoped that on arrival I would be able to detect the area.  When I arrived, I was happy to see that there were no cars in the area where the ring was lost, and I was able to search the area with no problems!  After a quick 5 minute search, I got lucky and found the ring.  It really helped that the woman had an excellent idea of where the ring had been lost which really narrowed down the search area!  It’s always an amazing feeling to return a ring to the owner!  So happy I could help out!

Lost ring Denville NJ… Found

I received a late-night email from James asking for my help locating his wedding ring.  He said that he had been raking and bagging leaves earlier in the day and the ring had come off his finger.  We made plans to meet the next day and search for the ring.  When I arrived he had about 12-14 bags of leaves ready to scan with my detector.  We went bag by bag and got lucky around bag number six!  It was the second metal object that we pulled out of that bag and probably the 4th or 5th metal object that was in the leaf bags overall!  I was amped to be able to help return the ring to him!
