It happens all the time. Keys are dropped into the snow which instantly swallows them up. If it isn’t heard, they’re gone. A metal detector works great in the snow. In this case, it took a while to get the coil above the keys, but once I did, it was pretty obvious.

…..as Thursday evening approached, Tom and his wife were hurrying to finish up raking and bagging leaves but somewhere in the yard his ring came off. Even though they were productive in getting their yardwork done, putting in a good effort to search for the ring brought no luck. With Tom leaving on a business trip today they didn’t want to keep wasting time looking around. We agreed to meet this morning until he had to go, which left us about an hour to search. Starting with the bags I scanned them all with my MXT metal detector to no avail. Next, I went to the back yard area where he thought the ring fell off. Nothing was detected so I started to search a larger area which still produced no results. Scanning the grass on the side of the house while walking to the front yard still brought no luck. At this point, Tom had to leave and told me to keep searching. Searching the grass area where he mentioned they were not raking I got a huge signal on the metal detector. Using my handheld pin-pointer I scanned thru the thick grass and there was his ring! I ran up to knock on the door and waved for his wife to come out to where his ring was, and we both wondered how it got there! With smiles on our faces, we both agreed that Tom’s next few text messages would be quite illuminating!

Got a call from Taylor, a reporter from WBTW Channel 13 news, wanting to do a story on The Ring Finders of North Myrtle Beach. I agreed to the interview and contacted Matt Fry, TRF Myrtle Beach, and invited him to join in. We all met up on Oct 14th and had a great time. Enjoy.

Edwin called me requesting my service to locate his wife’s 20k yellow gold wedding ring which she lost while getting into her car. Edwin told me it was the first time in her life she had seen and touched snow. She shook her hand before getting into the car and the ring flew off her finger. They looked for a few hours searching with no luck but within 5 minutes I had her ring back on her finger, Both where delighted to have the ring back.
Tasha called me requesting my service to locate her key fob lost in the back yard and it was the only key fob she had for her car! Tasha and her son searched the back yard last night with no luck. I arrived at Tasha’s home and she showed me the area they had searched. Within 15 minute I found her key fob.. Tasha was very happy I found it because it was going to be very expensive to replace.
Received a call from Brigitte this morning telling me that her husband was clearing snow off of his vehicle when he heard his wedding ring bounce of his car into the snow, either on the street or the sidewalk. There was lots of snow and it was very dark so he could not find his ring.
Brigitte decided to do a Google search (how to find a ring in the snow} and found Theringfinders website and called me.
It took me about 20 minutes to locate the ring on the side of the road. Thank you Brigitte for entrusting me to find your husband’s ring.
So last week I received a call from a wonderful couple that had lost a wedding ring in the leaves in there back yard. This call was from a local couple about 6 miles away. This was a treat for me because it had been a while since I have had a call that was just down the road. I know from what I was told that she really cared about her ring. She was very conscientious about losing the ring so to be safe she removed it and placed it in her pocket. She had done a little work in a flower garden the corner of the house and when she finished, she felt the ring in her pocket. She also had her young son out running around in back with her in the back yard. Part of playing around they formed a big pile of leaves started to bury one another in the pile of leaves. Following playing in the leaves her husband cleaned up the back yard raking and hauling the leaves down to a compost pile further down in the back yard. She had felt for the ring and her heart sank. It was gone. They spent several hours scouring the back yard and leaf pile looking for the ring and nothing was found.
You just know that feeling of something near and dear to your heart and it’s gone. She did a search online for Ringfinders.com and found Paul Nolan a local recovery specialist and texted him. Somehow the text was missed and the following morning her husband gave Paul a call. He asked if I had received the text that hos wife had sent, “ No”. So he asked if it would be possible to come out and see if we could find the ring. About an hour later I pulled into the driveway. They gave me a quick tour of what had happened. So I grabbed my detector and started a quick preliminary search. My primary search area was going to be the leaf pile in the back. Within a minute of reaching the pile location I received a great signal. I tried to carefully move some of the leaves, and it was hiding well. I had left my pin-pointer in the car so I went back to retrieve that. I also brought a small battery-operated blower that I grabbed. Once back at the pile I found the location with the pin pointer and put the blower on low and blew the leaves away from a small one foot circle, and there it was down between some rocks. So I grabbed my equipment and started to hall it back up to the car. As I was heading up she came out on the deck and I asked her if she would like to come grab the ring? What you found the ring? In total disbelief. Come on down. Her husband soon joined her and I took them down to the location where I had blowen the leaves away and they started looking after about 15 seconds she spotted it in the rocks. She was ecstatic. It was really nice having a call close to home, and one that went as well as could possibly could. What a treat it was. I wish they all would go so well. Congratulations on getting the ring back. I am so happy for the both of you.

Livi contacted me and asked if I could help find her wedding ring she lost yesterday at a local park while throwing a ball to her dog. She got my info from a friend of hers that had heard about my service.
Livi showed me where she threw the ball and I started my search in the direction of her throw. After a good hour of grid searching with no ring to be found I decided to search the spot where she was standing while throwing the ball. Right away I received a nice tone that was showing very shallow on my depth meter.
Her gold diamond ring was nestled in the grass and the search was over.

This Ring Find began when I noticed a missed call on my phone from Conor. When I returned the called Conor told me he was on his Honeymoon from Portland, Oregon and had just lost his 24k Gold Wedding Band in shallow water at Kuhio Beach in Waikiki. He said he had about a 10 foot radius to search. I told Conor I’d grab my gear and be there in about 15 minutes if he could meet me at the Kapahulu Pier. After arriving on the beach Conor’s lovely wife Yumeng joined us and was the depth marker on the seawall while Conor came in the water with me to show me where he thought the ring would be. I started a grid search slightly East of Conor’s mark just to be sure. Thankfully this area is so heavily detected the hunt was silent then suddenly a booming hit on the Nox and on the second scoop there was the 24K Gold ring in the scoop. 2 for 2 today and Yumeng and Conor were so gracious I was able to find his ring.
