“I was so impressed in how calm and confident you were while searching for my ring.” Diamond Ring Recovered by Rob Ellis, Annandale VA.

  • from Fairfax (Virginia, United States)

James reunited with his custom-made diamond ring.

James sent me this testimonial:

“Rob is the truth! I stopped by a BBQ restaurant/bar called « O My ChiQ & Bar » in Annandale, Virginia last Friday night to catch up with a few buddies of mine. If you are familiar with this establishment, there is an outdoor backyard area available for the customers to hang out with beer pong tables and cornhole boards. My buddies and I ended up playing a game of cornhole. I was wearing my VS1 diamond flooded Miami Cuban Ring (18 karat gold) that night. I had this ring made with a customized size that fit perfectly and secure around my finger, so I didn’t even think about taking it off before playing as I was confident it wouldn’t be an issue. I was having a great time and there were no issues up until about mid-way through the game when I physically felt my ring slide off my finger at the top of the release of an underhand throw of the beanbag. I immediately stopped the game and searched the area with my friends. Unfortunately, the whole area is on choppy grass and it was quite dark being outside with only a few dim light bulbs hanging at the top. We searched frantically with our cell phone flash lights for about 15 minutes.

We walked right over it!

I felt bad and embarrassed watching my friends searching for my ring as it was supposed to be a time for them to have fun, so I stopped them and continued looking on my own for about another 30 minutes with no luck. Being exhausted and overwhelmed, I felt it was futile spending any more time searching during the night darkness so I decided to go home and come back the next morning when the sun was out. I drove home feeling so defeated.

As you can guess, I didn’t get much sleep that night. As soon as I got home, I spent a few hours researching online for any resources to help me. By the grace of God, I discovered TheRingFinders and stumbled across Rob’s page servicing the Northern Virginia area. Out of urgency, I called his cell and left a message around 1 am (sorry again Rob for waking you and your wife up!). I called back first thing next morning and Rob picked up. I told him the situation and he agreed to meet me at the restaurant an hour before it opened to start searching.

When Rob arrived, I showed him the exact area and trajectory of where I thought the ring might have flown to and then he started his search. Unbelievably, he found the ring only after 1 hour! I cannot explain the feeling of joy, relief, and peace of mind. I was still in shock for about 20 minutes after he found it. What’s even crazier is that Rob found the ring in place I wouldn’t have even checked to see. It landed behind the cornhole board I was playing on, which was the complete opposite side of he backyard where I thought it landed. So, I would have wasted many useless hours with no results if I continued to look at my search area if it wasn’t for Rob.

My situation was very mild compared to other cases you will see on Rob’s page, as my search area was relatively small. Despite this, negative thoughts were running through my mind of giving up and potentially never finding it. If you are reading this, trust me: I understand that dreadful feeling of anxiety and hopelessness. Please don’t give up hope and call Rob! I believe everything happens for a reason, and although this was an unpleasant lesson in my life, I’m glad I went through it because now I am aware of the existence of the TheRingFinders organization. Such an amazing, underappreciated group of human beings. Absolute true heroes.

Thank you Rob so much for your kindness and amazing attitude. I was so impressed in how calm and confident you were while searching for my ring. Thank you for also serving our country as a Marine. I salute you. You are my friend for life.

God bless!

-James

Rob’s Story:

James, thank you so much for that heart-felt testimonial.

I never had one of those calls for a ring search at 1 am, until this one. I couldn’t even get to the phone before James had left a frantic message about his custom made ring lost in an outdoor bar area. I listened to the message and knew I couldn’t help at that hour and tried to get back to sleep.

The next morning, a very apologetic James called and told me how he had lost his ring tossing bags while playing a corn-hole game. I knew we needed to search as soon as possible in this popular restaurant/bar (https://omychiq.com/ ).

I arrived a little before opening and the staff was accommodating, but busy. James and I set-up the corn-hole boards exactly where they were the night before. James showed me how he had thrown a bag underhanded, and where he believed the ring flew off. I set up a quick rope line/grid and searched for about 45 minutes, a good deal of time due to stack of firewood. Being an experienced Ring Finder, I know client’s memories of an event may not be as accurate as they hoped. James and his friends were positive the ring flew off toward the targeted board, however, after finding nothing but trash, I concluded the arc of the underhanded throw might have resulted in a rear left trajectory. Within a few minutes searching there, I found James’ beautiful handmade ring. It was in the grass, close to the base of the stairs where anyone looking down could have seen it! FYI…I now set my phone on “do not disturb” at night:)

Any chance you are available for a search? Was one of two requests I received within 30 minutes. I answered both with the same: first to respond will have their choice of day for me to help.

The days and times are: Wednesday 11am-2pm or Thursday noon to 6pm for low tide and the ability to search in the water. Let me know if either works for you… The reply was that “Wednesday works for us! Hannah & Jamin”.

Detecting partner Leighton was off from work and we both would be helping search for the lost ring.

All four of us met up in the parking lot. Leighton and I with our detecting gear, Jamin with fishing gear and Hannah ready to supervise and perhaps take a swim. As usual we started by looking for the pile shells marking the beach were they were a few days ago. Well the tides have spread the pile so we started detecting an area suggested by Jamin. A few minutes later Hannah signals us she had found the pile of shells. OK, we moved the search over to an area 50 or so feet along the beach. After a bit of searching the width of the search area widened and to everyone’s amazement the is found closer to the original area where we started searching. Memory is a wonderful thing and it is good, but a physical marking is better. That is why we suggest dropping a few metal objects where a ring or other object is lost. With a few targets to look for we would know that we were in the correct area.

A few photos for the book of smiles, a bit of story telling as each story has it’s own lesson to be learned and then the ThankYou and now the fishing was going to start as Leighton and I left to look for another lost ring. I don’t know how the fishing endeavor ended, but I do know Jamin with a bit of luck did hook onto two metal detectorists that are always willing to help and that made the day a day to remember.

Evan and his colleague were absolutely amazing and I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond to find my lost ring!

I lost my wedding band just off the shore of the Bow River. A friend I was with googled “Calgary Ring Finders” and called Evan who was able to come to help search for it with his friend. I was amazed by how quickly they arrived and was immediately struck by Evan’s professionalism and genuine concern about finding my lost ring. After searching for about two hours, they were able to confirm that the ring was not on land and that it was likely deeper in the water where I took a dip. Although we ended up not finding it the first day, the good news is that these guys are persistent!

Evan returned to the site a couple days later with some additional tools including a custom viewer that he had made to look underwater. We didn’t find it this day either, but Evan was filled with positivity and kept encouraging me to not give up hope, mentioning that he would be monitoring the river level so that we could search again more thoroughly after the water level dropped. I had to leave town shortly after on vacation, so we made plans to search again when I returned, and they would keep looking while I was gone.

On my third vacation day, I received a text that another custom viewing tool had been made and it appeared that a ring was there! Shortly after, I was texted a photo of of my ring in the palm of his hand! I was ecstatic and it was the best way to continue on with the rest of my vacation. My friends who I was with the day I lost my ring were awestruck by how the ring was found and how persevering these guys are!

My ring was kept safe and sound until I returned to Calgary. These guys are truly amazing and trustworthy people. They were so pleased to see how thrilled I was when I was reunited with my ring. I cannot recommend Evan’s services enough and would urge anyone who’s in need to give the Calgary Ring Finder a call right away – I can’t speak positively enough about them!

Thanks so much again from the bottom of my heart!

Lost Wedding Ring Found on Narragansett RI Town Beach

I received a call from Jake, who lost his wedding ring on the beach the day before while vacationing with his wife.  The couple is from out of town and planned to leave the next day. They had only been married eight months.  He was frantic to find his ring and asked for my help.  I asked a friend to help with the search for Jake’s ring.  We searched the beach area, where Jake and his wife were, for about two hours and couldn’t find the ring.  My friend had to leave, but I didn’t stop searching.  Jake said that he was carrying chairs and other things to the beach so I searched the area where you enter the beach….still no luck.  Jake thanked me for trying and left the beach.  I persisted and did a grid search of the large area where you enter the beach.  In the third row of the grid, I found Jake’s ring and was excited to call him with the good news.  He was still in the parking lot and rushed back to the beach.  Jake couldn’t believe that I found his ring.  He was ecstatic!

I received a call from Steven who lost his wedding ring while doing yard work.  He asked for my help and identified where he had been working in the yard.  Coincidentally, he connected with me through his future daughter in law, a former co-worker of my wife.  She knew that I was a member of The Ring Finders (TheRingFinders.com) and could help him.  Steven and his wife thought the ring was lost forever until their future daughter in law told them about my services and were convinced that they would have to buy another ring. I went to their home and found Steven’s ring and in about twenty minutes.  He was very happy to have his ring back.

Metal Detector Rental, Recover Lost Cross, Lavallette NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Jersey shore ring finder ring finder south jersey On a nice hot day Anton and his family were enjoying the day on at beach. This can be some of the most sought after relaxation one could ask for after a long day at work. And while people are on the beach there are many things they will do like , swimming, running, relaxing, picnicking, throwing footballs, volley ball, wrestling, etc. OH NO did I say wrestling ? That’s when things went wrong for Anton. In one of the 3 areas he was wrestling around that day his cherished cross was pulled from his necklace and lost in the sand.  They searched for a few hours, even with their metal detector, without any luck. That’s when Nicole decided to give me a call to see if I was available to locate the cross. I met them on the beach a little while later and they showed me everything that transpired up to realizing the cross was missing. I started in the most likely spot and within a few moments I had his cross in my scoop. Another fantastic ending to a great day on the Jersey Shore.

Lost and found diamond 18K gold wedding ring in Fenelon falls Ontario

Today’s recovery took me to Felenon falls/Bobcaygeon area. Received a text from Johnny about loosing his newly custom made diamond 18 K gold wedding band last weekend. Johnny had some diamonds from his late grandmother crafted into his new wedding band. He and his bride of only one month, were at a family cottage and went for a swim in the late evening and noticed that his wedding ring was missing at around 2AM. Retracing his steps and looking at selfies from the evening, he was pretty sure that the ring would be either under the dock, where they sat and watched a meteor shower for a while or in the water where he dove in a couple times. Desperate, he even had purchased a metal detector and detected around the property to see if the ring had fallen off during the evening. After meeting up at the cottage and getting oriented, I put on my Scuba gear and grabbed my underwater metal detector. Water being just over 12 feet deep, and after only about 15 minutes search, I was able to locate his ring in about one foot of silt. His reaction was priceless and heartfelt as I surprised him with his ring once I surfaced at the dock. Another great recovery. Life is good!

Lost and found huge gold wedding ring in Cloyne Ontario

My travels today took me to Cloyne area in Ontario. Received a phone call from Joan about her son Vince having dropped his huge white gold wedding band while swimming with the kids two days ago. The issue is that it was dropped at a rental cottage, about 30 feet away from the dock, where it is full of weeds and silt. The other issue is that the ring was sitting in about 6 to 7 feet of water. After sweeping most of the weeds away, with the detector, and removing all unwanted trash signals, I finally heard a very faint signal which turned out to be his ring. The ring had been pushed in deep into the silt. Four hours of searching which was well rewarded by Vince’s priceless reaction and that of his family as well. Great recovery. Life is good!

Lost IPhone, Seaside Park NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

find lost ring lbiJune is a great time of year, weather is warming up, school is getting out for the summer, the beach scene is almost in full swing, graduations, prom, etc. That’s when Hailey had a horrible mishap. She was at the Jersey Shore for the weekend after the prom, enjoying the beach life, when her phone totally disappeared somehow, in the soft sugar sand of Seaside Park NJ. She reached out to me NJ Ring Finder, wondering if there was anything I could do to recover her phone. Everyone knows loosing your phone can wreak havoc, especially when its not totally backed up. I had been in the area already, so after getting the details, I headed right over to the spot she had figured it was lost. Just a short while later I had her phone, her drivers license, and some money, that was stashed inside the phone case, safely in my finds pouch. We agreed on a location to meet a few hours later. Hailey was so grateful to have her phone, and her belongings back, after a long and nervous separation.

Jersey shore ring finder ring finder south jersey

It was a beautiful afternoon at the Jersey Shore when Bill and Barb decided to spend the day on the beach in Surf City LBI. They were in town for a wedding and decided to soak up some rays when things went wrong. Barb had placed her wedding ring in the side pouch of their beach bag, and a little while later Bill needed a napkin for his hands. Not aware of the rings presence, he pulled out a napkin, and the ring obviously came out with it. He knew about my NJ Ring Finder service on LBI, and quickly reached out to see if I could assist in recovering the ring. Obviously I shot right down to his Surf City location ASAP, and after getting the details, within minutes their precious ring was in my scoop.
