January 2013, Paul called me to assist with his lost wedding ring on his hobby farm, we were successful in recovering the ring. Today November 2014, Paul called me again to say that he had once again lost his wedding ring again while working in the Orchard and his wife was not impressed. He was raking the leaves and driving his tractor with his gloves on, he removed his gloves at four locations when he noticed the ring was missing. I detected the four locations where he thought it would be with no success, I told him I would grid the whole farm until I found it. After a couple of hours the ring was located by an apple tree in the Orchard. Another marriage saved, I told Paul I would book him in for next year.
Danielle called at 9:00 am on the 17th of November asking for help finding a wedding band belonging to her brother, Chad. He had lost it off the seawall behind his home on Saturday, November 15th and was upset thinking that it would never be found. Danielle found the Ringfinders and called Tom Jones and asked if they could help in any way.
A large storm with a cold front following was coming in off the Gulf of Mexico that afternoon. With this in mind Tom headed out to the beach and met Danielle. After 45minutes of hunting through oyster shell and various metal targets, Tom found the ring and returned it to Danielle. Her brother Chad did not have any idea that she had found us and that we had found the ring.
She said that he was going to be so surprised when he got home and got his ring back.

Bridgett was sitting on her front porch talking to her husband on the phone. She was a bit upset that he left for work without his wedding band. The emotions got the best of her and she ended up taking her ring off and throwing it into the front yard! She and her husband searched the entire yard and could not find the ring.
Lucky for her she went to the internet and looked up “how to find a ring in the grass”. SRARC’s Ring Finder number came up. She made the call and a team was put together. Mike Miller and Paul Hill arrived about 1 pm that very day. After about 30 minutes or so Bridgett went inside to check on her two little ones and started to cry thinking that they would not be able to find it. Shortly after she returned to the front porch Paul Hill asked her “if it looked like this?” She was so excited and relieved. What fun it was for us to be able to return a smile to her face.
I received a call from Danielle who explained she needed help finding her lost diamond wedding ring. Danielle said she had lost her wedding ring in her front yard while participating in some out-door activities.

I made the short trip over to Katy, Texas today and met with Danielle at her residence. Danielle identified the area of her yard that needed to be searched and provided me a description of her missing ring.
I worked a quick grid search of the yard and on the second pass hit a good signal. I paused trying not to alert Danielle of the recovery. I walked over to grabbed the GoPro and set it up to capture the moment.

I met Alex in the parking lot of the volleyball court today in the Galleria area of Houston. As I was gathering my equipment, Alex explained how he had spent three hours last night searching with no success. He said he gone to a nearby Home Depot and purchased a rack, a shovel, and a heavy duty screen to sift sand and he still couldn’t find his ring.
Alex said, later that evening his wife found my add on Craigslist, and followed my posted link to « The Ring Finders »
The search for Alex’s ring was quick, on my second pass I hit a really nice signal, and moments later Alex was holding his ring. Alex immediately called his wife to share the good news; it was very evident he was very happy to have his ring back.
Thank you, Alex

On Saturday, Jason lost his diamond wedding band while doing yard work. Family and friends helped to search the yard. Someone even tried to find it with a metal detector, but they had no luck. Not knowing where to turn, his wife, Toni, decided to search the internet for help. She found my information and gave me a call on Monday. That evening, I searched the property for a few hours, mostly in the dark, but was unable to locate the ring. I assured Toni and Jason that I would be back early Wednesday to continue the search, expecting that it would take quite some time given the size of the property. Five minutes into the search, I located the ring in their lawn. Jason and Toni were delighted!
Subject: Wedding band lost in Lake Hello, I came across your website and was wondering if you could find my lost wedding band. I see you are in Houston. I live in the DFW area and lost my wedding band this weekend in Lake Lewisville. I have the exact location. It would require you to dive about 20-25 feet with scuba gear. I only had it for two months and I am willing to pay you for your services. Please let me know. Thanks.Richard
I contacted Don Wilson from The Ring Finders in Dallas and relayed the call information to him, and my interests in attempting a recovery. Lake Lewisville is in Don’s backyard and I knew he would know all the logistical aspects of the search location.
Don did all the ground work on this job, taking photographs of the search location, meeting with Richard at dock weeks prior, and making all the arrangement with the marina for our visit. Having the Dallas team present (Don and Ellen) and their son Tripp was the only reason this recovery attempt was even possible.
Don, Ellen, and Tripp thank you again for everything…
The dock in Lake Lewisville (the search location)
The depth 23″ feet, and after the 12′ mark total blackness down to the bottom at 23′, the bottom a soft silt mud. Utilized a custom made PVC dive pole to mark the primary search location from the surface. Used a boogie board leash as a lanyard attachment to the PVC pole ensuring I would not drift off of the search location (essentially cave diving in total darkness). The dangers in these black water dives is becoming entangled in or under one of the boat lifts or dock while ascending back to the surface.
You can see from the photograph above, overhead obstacles where a significant obstruction, basically you had to work your way under the lift to descend to the mark.
Now for the downside, after one hour and ten minutes of bottom time, I could not find that missing RING. The bottom of the boat slip at 23′ provided its own challenges, laden heavy with scrap material from the docks construction, and other large miscellaneous metal items made the search a real challenge.
The two lawn chairs above were fastened together with a cable lock and were an unexpected find at the bottom. I worked the bottom with a handheld Vibra-Tech 730 sifting through 4-5 inches of mud pulling up targets.
Large pieces of iron, cut pad locks, small nails and bottle tops were among the assortment of recovered items.
A short video illustrating the recovery location
It was a tough way to end the day, I always like finding the prize. The ring may be worth another look one day, but for now the ring belongs to the lake.

Maria and Dimitriy are visiting the area from the Netherlands. They were at Fort Desoto North Beach enjoying the beach and Sun. When the decided to go swimming, Dimitriy put both his and Maria’s wedding rings into his shorts pocket to keep them safe. After they returned from swimming they laid out in the sun warming up and tanning. Soon it was to hot so they decided to move back on the beach to where there was a shade tree. Later when they decided to leave Dimitriy put on his shorts and reached for the rings. They were no longer there!!!!!! They searched in the sand over the whole area they had been playing in, but had no luck. Dimitriy used his smart phone to search for metal detectors and soon found SRARC through The Ring Finders. Tom and Mike responded and after searching for about 10 minutes Mike found both rings hiding in the sand. They were very happy to have their wedding rings back on their fingers.
