Super Bowl Sunday Lost Wedding Ring (Recovery) Richmond, Texas

02/07/2015

I was contacted this evening by Brittanie who said she was needing help finding her lost wedding ring. Brittanie said she had just finished doing some yard work in her backyard when she discovered her ring was missing. Brittanie said she had been pulling some weeds and tossing them over the fence into an open field. Brittanie said, she noticed that her ring was gone moments later and was sure it was either in the backyard or just over the fence.

A quick look at Brittanie’s picture tells the rest of the story.

Wedding Ring Lost at Hermosa Beach, CA…Found.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

P1000075P1000074

I had just gotten home from 4 hours of surfing, when I received a call from Sam asking for help to find a lost wedding ring at the beach. Knowing the importance of getting right on it, I told him I would leave immediately and arrive within half an hour or so.

When I got to the spot Sam met me there and showed me the area where he believed it was lost. It was a volley ball court, so I was thinking he was hitting the ball when he lost his ring. So I was figuring flight patterns of where his ring might have went, when he told me it wasn’t his ring, but a client’s, as he is a personal trainer who was putting her through a work out earlier this morning. He then pointed out the patch of sand they were using, and I got right to work. After about 15 minutes, and a little outside of where Sam thought it might have been I got a real good tone in my head phones about one inch under the sand. I put in my scoop, and out comes this real pretty ornate ring.

It was great to make his day, and I am sure his client’s day. This is what it is all about, to know the story of the ring continues, and smiles all around.

If you lose your ring or other metal item of value, call as soon as possible. I will work hard to help you find what you thought might never be found again. I search,  Beverly Hills, Hermosa Beach, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Newport Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Santa Monica, Seal Beach, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Torrance, Venice Beach, and all parks, yards, gardens, and ponds (to 5 foot depths) in all of Orange County, all of Los Angeles County, and Ventura County.

Family Heirlooms Rescued after House Fire (Houston, Texas)

Family Heirlooms Rescued after House Fire (Houston, Texas)

100 year old Gold pocket watch and two sentimental bracelets.

02/01/2016

I was contacted by a homeowner who said she was searching  the internet for information on how to rent and or use a metal detector. The homeowner said she came across « The Ring Finders » on the web and placed the call.

The homeowner said her mothers home had recently burned, and they were preparing to sell the house. She said before doing such, she desperately wanted to find a very important family heirloom, her fathers Gold Pocket Watch. The homeowner said, she was sure the watch and few other precious family heirlooms had been placed in the attic several years back, when the home was threatened by rising flood waters.

The homeowner said following the fire, a decision was made to sell the home and find an alternate living place. She said, she could not let go of the hope that even after all of the destruction of the fire she might find her fathers pocket watch.

02/03/2016

I met with the homeowner at the residence in Houston today to search for the lost pocket watch and the two other sentimental bracelets. The fire had devastated the interior of the home, and with a close examination of the remaining structure it appeared solid enough to conduct the search.

Heart Pendant and Necklace Lost in San Pedro, CA… Found.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

P1000073P1000072

Renee called me today to ask if I would be able to help her find a necklace and pendant with small diamond that she lost in the ivy where she had been walking. I told her that I was available, but she had to wait until she was done at work, which wasn’t going to be long. We arranged to meet at a pizza restaurant near the location, and then I would follow her over to the search area. She had remembered the pendant to be about the size of a nickle, which made me feel good about the search, because I knew the chain would be a bear to find, if my detector would hear it at all, but a nickle sized pendant should not be too bad a search.

When we got to the location, she then told me it had missing for two weeks, and then showed me the area (which is behind her in the photo above).  When I walked over to the ivy, I could see that it had been recently trimmed, within a day or two, so I was feeling a bit like it might be gone, but I wanted to do a thorough search, so I got right to work. I was finding everything, bottle caps, screw caps, cans, bottles, foil, ketchup pouches, etc. I found everything but what I was looking for. I had my best detector, but when I had gone over the whole area, I decided to switch to another detector, knowing its ability to find small gold (hoping it would find the chain). I then began to find more stuff in the area I had already cleaned out, getting more good signals, and more foil. My pin pointer was getting a workout as well. I then got another good signal in the headphones, put in the pin pointer and got nothing. I passed the coil over again, got the good signal, put the pin pointer in again; nothing. I then laid the detector down, and reached into the debris, and handful by handful passed it in front of my coil. When I heard the good sound in my headphones again I started going through what was in my hand when I saw a very fine chain. As I lifted it up, I found the very small heart shaped pendant, which I have next to dime in the picture to show scale, it was smaller than a nickle, and fine in thickness. I lifted it up, and began walking across the street to show Renee who was sitting in her car, because it was pretty cold. She jumped out to see, and a great big smile appeared. I am glad to have made her day today, and happy to have had the right tool for the job.

Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Royal Hawaiian Waikiki…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

RoyH1-30 (2)
While relaxing at home Saturday afternoon Matt from Sydney Australia called. He told me that he lost his Platinum wedding band in waist deep water at the Royal Hawaiian Beach two days prior. They had been looking with goggles for many hours. Then they found « The Ring Finders » on a Google search. Its Pro Bowl weekend in Hawaii and Waikiki is packed. I told Matt if he could secure parking I’d be there in 20 minutes. He did and we met at the hotel parking garage entrance. After parking we grabbed the gear and headed down to the beach. Matt’s lovely wife Talitha met us there. We marked the extreme edges of the grid and I went to work. Matt was my beach-side marker and after about three legs of the search Matt noticed another detectorist in the water slowly coming our way. It was Sergey! UGH! He doesn’t return rings. So I had to get rude and put myself on the other extreme end of the grid hopefully between him and the ring. I started walking backwards and wham a screaming platinum target. This had to be Matt’s ring. After two scoops I looked in and there it was a big fat platty. I yelled to Matt got it! Talitha came running over and after seeing the ring gave us both a big hug. Elapsed search time less then 10 minutes. After searching for two days and no other detectorists stumbling across their ring a look of relief and big smiles said it all. Aloha to Matt & Talitha

Precious Pendant Lost Found and Returned in Oldsmar, Florida

Nancy’s daughter was getting out of a car on a visit to Nancy’s home when her pendant chain broke.  She was able to catch the chain while watching the pendant fall into the thick plush grass and disappear. The family searched the area but could not find it.   Nancy contacted Mike Miller at SRARC and asked if they could help. Mike contacted Howard Metts to conduct a search.  The search area was a very small plot of thick grass between the sidewalk and the curb in front of the house.  After about 15 minutes Howard got a signal with his detector and was able to use his pin pointer to coax the pendant out of the thick grass.  Nancy said her daughter will be very happy to see the pendant again.  This is Howards second return this year and its only January! Nice work Howard and we are all happy to see the smile on Nancy’s face.

GLASSES LOST DURING PARTY IN SNOW AT KELOWNA

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)
Contact:

Christy had a party at her home during a recent snow fall. The party was in her back yard and a few of the partygoers were feeling no pain. One young lady fell in the snow and slid 50 yards down a slope finishing up in a blackberry patch, losing her prescription eyeglasses in the proccess. Christy found me on The Ringfinders website and requested my help in locating the glasses. I arrived and started my search in the yard, within minutes I found a pair of glasses, are these the ones I asked, the answer was no, they were lost last year. I continued my search all the way down the yard and eventually found the other pair in the blackberry patch.

Rental Car Key lost in Kelowna Snow.

  • from Kelowna (British Columbia, Canada)
Contact:

Anastha was involved in a motor vehicle accident, so she was driving a courtesy vehicle. After removing snow from her driveway she realized that she had lost the key for the courtesy vehicle. Unable to find it she called the repair shop who where going to charge her $350 to replace and reprogram the replacement key. She remembered a fellow worker who had lost his wedding ring years earlier, she called him and asked him who assisted him with its recovery, he told her it was a member of The Ringfinder. She then called The Ringfinders, and I responded on her day off work. The snow was fairly deep so I did sweep and then removed a layer of snow, on the second sweep I located the key.

Metal Detecting Service – How to Find a Lost Earring – Stamford, CT

  • from Stonington (Connecticut, United States)

As a couple arrived for a dinner party, they had no idea they were about to experience the terrible feeling of losing a sentimental possession that was handed down from mother to daughter. There is good news, though. Stepping out of the car and hearing the “ping, ping” of the earring bouncing off the car door told us that the earring is in the car door’s general location. Once I finally arrived, the couple showed me the approximate location of the area under the car door when the earring fell. After only minutes of searching, the couple was reunited with their earring!

Just in case you are wondering, yes, my earlier statement was “finally arrived.” There was a delay in my arrival to find the earring, but you will have to read the NewYorker.com article to know why there was a delay and how I managed to complete the trip! Follow this link http://www.newyorker.com/business/currency/the-lost-jewelry-hunters

Finding an earring is no easy task, but this particular earring was a larger one, and the grass was well manicured, both of which are to my advantage. Most earrings are small and challenging for the average metal detector to sense. If you don’t have the sensitive equipment necessary to find small valuables, don’t waste your time renting a metal detector that may not get the job done. Give me a call or send me a message, and I’ll help you get the job done.
