Tungsten Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Myrtle Beach SC

Corey called me around 4:45 pm on Sunday, asking if I could help find his wedding band he had lost. The first question I always ask is, “was it lost in the dry sand, wet sand, or in the water.” He responded, “Dry sand.” This was the second dry sand call of the day, which I like – A lot!! I ask him where he was at, and he told me the resort name in Myrtle Beach. I told him I’d be there in 20-25 minutes, grabbed my Nox 800 and was on the road.

When I got to the resort and made my way out on the beach, I called him. He told me he was in a white hat, and I saw him waving. As I got to the spot, I noticed one of the ladies in his party on her hands and knees searching for the ring. As I got closer, I told her she was wasting her time. Corey showed me the 2X6 foot area and told me that he was moving stuff out of a child’s playpen and noticed the ring had come off. I turned my machine on and jokingly said “20 seconds.” Tungsten rings usually are 18 on the Nox, so I knew what I was looking for. A couple of steps to the left and I got a strong 22 but showing too deep to be a ring lost within the last hour or so. That signal turned out to be a Yeti cup sitting in one of the chairs. I turned around and scanned the area around the playpen. Two swings and I got the 18 I was looking for. Scooped it out of the sand, shook the sand out and got the rattle of his ring in the scoop. He looked so relieved and said his wife was up in the room upset. They still have almost a week on vacation, so this will be a great vacation now.

I received a text message this morning from a young lady who said her husband had lost his ring at third beach in Stanley Park, this time of year these beaches get detected on a regular basis, day and night. My first question was, did you lose it by a log? his reply was no it was closer to the seawall, which is a great thing, because most people detect all around the logs.

This gave me hope I cook the set up a time to meet at the beach and I did a little rescheduling for another search that was at least an hour and a half drive away from where this young man had lost his ring. I knew I had to go to this one first due to the high traffic area he lost it in.

After meeting the young man at the beach and hearing the story on how the ring was put on a chair, then the chair was moved a few feet over, it wasn’t until later he realized his ring was gone. Good luck, trying to find it in a desert of sand. His wife went home and found me online and text me for help, the rest was history. Fortunately, they marked the area and the search took less than a minute to find his beautiful ring and that wonderful smile. I love my job.!!!!

2-Month-Old Yellow Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Sand, Found and Returned Ocean Isle Beach NC

On Sunday, at 12:45 pm, I got a call from Connelly asking if I was available to help find his wedding band on Ocean Isle Beach, NC. My first question was, “dry sand, wet sand, or in the water?” He replied, “In the dry sand,” which is a blessing when you don’t have to get in the ocean. I asked where on Ocean Isle and he replied next to the pier. I told him I’d be there in about 30-45 minutes. Grabbed my Equinox 800 and was on my way.

When I arrived, I met Connelly in the parking lot of the Inn they were in front of on the beach. As we were walking out on the beach I asked him for details. Basically, they were setting up their little spot and he noticed his ring had fallen off. We got to the spot, and I met his wife, Stephens. Connelly showed me the 3 x 5-foot area the ring should be in, and I asked him what type ring it is. He stated yellow gold and 14k. Turned on my machine and looked at him and Stephens and said, “Under a minute.” With yellow gold, I was expecting a VDI (visual display number) in the high teens, around 17-19. Two steps and I got a banging 20, dug it up, shook the sand out of the scoop and heard the rattle of his ring. Handed him his ring and got an instant smile on both his and Stephens’ face. Vacation was back on track. Stephens told me he’d only had the ring for 2 months, so now they have another chapter for their story of their rings. I asked how they found me, and Connelly said that Stephens is a good friend of a repeat customer, Cori I’ve had. Stephens had text Cori and told her about the lost ring and Cori told her to call me.

Lost and found silver ring at Roblin Lake Ontario

Received a text from Hope late this afternoon about having lost her silver ring while swimming with her three young kids yesterday. This ring has immense sentimental value as it was given to her, from her fiancé, whom suddenly passed away last year. We met at the lake within the hour and both went in the water where she estimated having dropped the ring while playing with her kids. Although there were many signals, we were able to reunite her with her precious ring within 40 minutes or so. She was extremely happy and surprised to have her ring back on her finger. One of my most favorite recoveries thus far. Life is good.

This was an interesting recovery.  Somehow, her ring managed to fly off the third story balcony while doing her hair and land in the bushes below.  After all of us looking for a few hours, my detector located it almost 50 ft away!  We were all excited I was able to reunite them with her matching custom rings

White Gold Wedding Band Lost On Holden Beach NC

On Sunday, July 7th, I was driving the 40-minute drive home from a combined 4-hour back-to-back ring searches when I got the following text. “I am at Holden Beach. My adult daughter has lost her wedding ring this afternoon, we think in or around the pool. Can you help? Thomas” Before I turned around and made the 50 plus minute drive to Holden, I had a stop to make. I also planned on stopping by my house and at least saying hello to my wife, who refers to herself as ‘The Ring Finder Widow,’ who I hadn’t seen all day. I called Thomas to let him know my plan and in the course of the conversation I started asking questions. I found out that his daughter was throwing a ball to her son when she noticed the ring gone. I asked if the pool had a drain in the bottom or a filtering system. His response was no drain, and the filtering system was on the top part of a side wall. Next, I asked what was around the pool, concrete or grass. He responded that there were wood slats and that her ring wouldn’t fit between the slates even if he tried pushing it through. Ok, process of elimination, I asked what was beyond the wooden slates. He stated that there was a little bare area and then rocks. Ah ha! I told him I had a couple of stops and would be up there in about an hour and a half. Before we hung up, I told him that when I get there the rocks are going to be the first place I’d look.

When I got back in the car from the first stop, I checked my text. Tom had sent me a text saying “We found it! In the rocks. Your logical approach solved it.” I immediately called him, and he thanked me for my help. I wish all my searches were this easy!

Prayers have been answered!
It’s been a very long and emotional week. A kind samaritan loaned me her metal detector and after hours of searching with no luck, I hit the internet for help. I was able to find a website called The Ring Finders. Feeling apprehensive, but desperate about it, I sent a text to a couple specialists in Minnesota. Within moments, Paul texted me back saying he was loading up and would be to Mille Lacs within 2 hours.
I got him familiarized with the area and on day one he spent 4 hours looking. No luck. He was such an incredible, positive human that he reassured me, « Don’t worry! It hasn’t gone anywhere! It’s here. »
Day 2 he came up again, we both searched for hours, coming up empty handed. He was still positive – « don’t worry, we will find it! ».
Day 3 my husband and I took our pontoon out to the exact spot we were at during Flotilla – about 45 feet from what the GPS coordinates said on my Navionics App and where we were looking (sorry fisherman, GPS lies!). Paul was kind enough to loan us a metal detector until he came back out, so we searched for another few hours. No luck, except for a couple cigar stickers from our group – we knew we were close! I text Paul that night to tell him our findings, explaining we were off by about 45 feet, but I could help get him out to our spot when he came up again.
Day 4, Paul texts me, « are you going to be around today? », of course, I was ready to head out and look again for the ring. Being the positive person he is, he said « are you ready to hear what a ring sounds like ». Of course! Let’s find some gold! Moments later he texts a photo of my ring in his hand!!!!
The cheering squad on the beach is going wild (you know who you are❤️). I’m going crazy, sprinting through the shallows to hug this amazing person who has found my missing ring!
I cannot thank Paul from Ring Finders enough, he is a true angel on Earth!!! If you have anything missing in this lake PLEASE CALL HIM!!!!! His tenacity, dedication and positivity is commendable. TOP NOTCH!!!

Barnstable, MA Platinum Wedding Band Lost, Found, and Returned

From my home town in Connecticut, Arman was enjoying the Cape Cod’s good beach going weather with a Frisbee in hand, the sandy beach, family and friends when he somehow came to be missing his wedding band. No one moved, all looked very intensely for the lost piece of metal that held 11 years of memories. Not wanting to give up, Arman’s wife Mina, “Googled” for someone to help find the wayward ring. As often happens my name came up in a link with TheRingFinders.com and a text was sent my way.

I was out and enjoying a dinner with my wife and a long time metal detecting friend Eleanor. I did not check my text messages until the next morning. I answered it and was on my to the the beach for another recovery attempt. I spent more time talking with Arman about our home town than it took me to locate his ring.

My first good signal was a coin that I had Arman’s son remove from my scoop and to keep as a treasure from Cape Cod. Later he also was very grateful when I gave him one of my TheRingFinders.com cards for him to keep.

Back to the search, my second good target, which I was sure, was Arman’s ring was about 5 minutes later, just beyond the original suggested area to search. I took a picture then had Arman remove the ring from my scoop which he did with no hesitation, brushed the sand off and replaced it on his finger. More picture, stories, and old and current information about our home town was a welcome change from metal detecting stories although a few bits were part of our conversation. It all ended with a great feeling for the Cape and desire to return next year with smiles that will last through the coming year.

I got a call yesterday morning from Taylor who had a mishap with her ring while assisting at A-Frame Surf Shop’s summer surf camp at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria. She had placed her ring inside a clipboard for safe keeping only to have it disappear while someone got into the clipboard! The ring had huge sentimental value as she had gotten the ring while on a trip to Morocco so it was imperative we recover the ring and get it back.

A half-hour into the search and her good luck ring was right back where it belonged, on Taylor’s finger.
