Lost Silver Cross w/ Diamonds Found in Ann Arbor Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

A Gift from a Friend……

…..was something Kwame was not expecting. For being a person who wore no jewelry he was totally taken by surprise when presented with a silver cross w/ diamonds. Lots of his friends and family thought it complemented him and completed his style. But one day he was in a volleyball tournament and right after a huddle and play began the next thing he knew was the cross was missing! Nearing dark, he was able to find the chain that held the cross, but the cross itself went unrecovered. I started a grid search with my MXT metal detector and came across a few junk items. Quite a distance away from where he found the chain I got a very nice signal with the metal detector underneath some heavy looking footprints in the sand. Moving a few inches of sand revealed Kwame’s silver cross! His jaw dropped in amazement as he saw it in my hand! His friend didn’t know it, but now it’s back on where it belongs and can continue to be displayed with pride!

Chatham Beach, MA Sentimental Ring Found and Returned by Richard Browne

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

July 22, 2025 A family heirloom ring was resting peacefully on Zoe’s towel until it was time for her to pick up the towel and go. Then it happened, the ring slipped silently from the towel into the sand. As it happens 90% of the time a search on the area with one’s hands the results are not as one would wish for. In hope for help J&E Enterprise was contacted and Eleanor, the owner, recommended the one person who could help, me.

I received the relayed call for help as I was gearing up to search for a lost wedding band and told Zoe that I would come to search for her ring around 7PM. Well after a three hour search with two other detectorists with no success in finding the lost man’s band. I took Leighton and Jim, the other two detectorists, back to Yarmouth and I headed east to Chatham.

On the way to Chatham Zoe texted me precise location of her loss of her ring. I arrived at the beach, found the two “Private Beach” signs, and the water drain. Following Zoe’s instructions I moved four feet from the drain and started to swing my detector. On the third swing, in less than 5 seconds I had my first and only signal that I needed, it was the ring. I took the ring back to the car, called Zoe and was given the address and restaurant name where she was with others having dinner.

Well, downtown Chatham was jammed up like the bridges onto Cape Cod on the 4th of July. I saw the girl in the blue dress (Zoe) outside the restaurant, pulled into a one car wide driveway and with half my van still in the roadway and a car coming at me, I stopped. Zoe and I did a quick exchange of the ring and thank yous. I took a second to snap a picture before trying to back out into the roadway which was barely wide enough for two cars to pass each other. I made it and was on my way home as the sun set. Zoe was heading back to her dinner feeling much better and happier that she had her very sentimental ring back on her finger. Now the sun was just about beneath the horizon the start of a wonderful evening for all.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Utica Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Down the Rabbit Hole…..

…… began with Joe’s new yard project. The gravel he ordered after he tore up some grass didn’t show up and throughout the day tools went missing and machinery malfunctioned. To escalate matters his wedding ring fell off his finger and he didn’t know where in the yard it was. I did a grid search with my MXT metal detector where he said he was working but nothing came up. Going out further from the house I got a good signal in the wet grass and as I moved around it my foot slipped into a slight dip in the ground almost twisting my ankle. Reaching into the dip in the ground my pin pointer metal detector went off. Parting the grass back revealed Joe’s ring! His back was turned to me but as I yelled to him, he came running over and said that he had filled the rabbit hole in a while ago after the bunny’s left and said it must have settled leaving a small divot. Super Happy to be Out of the Rabbit Hole, Joe took a nice long look at his ring realizing that even tho this journey down the rabbit hole was over, he now had a deeper understanding of what’s important and that the rabbit hole is only as deep as you make it!

Lost Gold & Diamonds Sentimental Ring at Magic island Beach…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began when I got a text at work asking if I could find a ring at the waters edge at Magic Island beach.  I called the number and AJ from the San Francisco area and on vacation on Oahu answered.  I told him I would leave work early and head over since it wasn’t in deep water.  In fact, it was supposed to be ankle deep.  As I was enroute I got a call from our fellow ring finder Kai saying he was on the freeway as AJ had called him too.  Kai was kind enough to give the hunt to me as I was near the access to Magic Island.  When I arrived I met AJ on the beach and he showed me where in the water the ring should be.  I hunted and expanded the grid search out in every direction.  No ring.  I had to leave for a PT session for my shoulder and told AJ I’d see about coming back or getting someone else.  My PT session went rather quickly so when I finished I went back to rehunt and expand the grid further.  I went out further and up the slope into the dry sand.  It paid off.  Up in the dry sand I got a booming #49 on the Manticore and on the second scoop there was AJ’s sentimental ring from his Father in the scoop.  I called AJ and he was at the Hilton Hawaiian Village pool next beach over so he decided to walk over and retrieve the special ring.  A few hugs and handshakes later AJ said his vacation was now saved.  Aloha to AJ!

I was contacted by Jennifer after being tagged multiple times on a social media post. Jennifer explained that her husband had taken a surfing lesson on his birthday on Queen St beach in Cape May. During the lesson, his necklace broke and he lost his late daughters memoriam charms in the surf. I chatted back and forth with Jennifer and gathered some specific details. Took a ride over and checked at low tide this morning around 6:30am. After about an hour of searching the surf I was able to recover the charms and reunite them with Phil and Jennifer. Another happy couple!

I received a message from Ken the other day. He explained that his wife was sitting with their daughter just at the edge of the water on the beach in Wildwood Crest . The pair were chatting about his wife, Shelly’s, ring which she had just had repaired and had taken it off to show to her daughter. While doing so, a larger wave rushed in and startled the pair causing the ring to be flung behind them towards the upper beach as they were facing the water when it happened. The ring landed in the shallow water and disappeared. Shelly was devastated, and the family searched for hours trying to locate the ring. Luckily, Ken, Shelly’s husband, did an excellent job noting the approximate location and took note of the time as the tide was moving in. We discussed the event a bit and decided to wait until the tide was heading back out so the water would be at a reasonable depth. I met the couple on the beach at just about dark around 9pm and began searching. About 15 minutes later I heard the signal I was searching for, 1 scoop later the ring was back on Shelly’s finger. She was elated to say the least! The couple informed me that Ken had proposed to Shelly over 40 years prior just a few blocks down beach. Another relieved & happy couple!
Kens and Shelly’s review of service:
“Jeffrey came at dusk walked into the ocean and went to work finding my wife’s engagement ring. 10 min later he saved our vacation and I can’t thank him enough. Thank you!”

Bracelet lost in Sand at Will Rogers Star Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

  • from Redondo Beach (California, United States)

If you lose something important, please call right away, because time and other variables will work against a successful recovery. Steve Smith: 310-953-5268.

Gabriella called, having lost a bracelet that meant a lot to her, in the sand at the beach earlier that day. It was getting late, so I decided to go quickly in order to get parking because the beach closes when the sun goes down.

Gabriella was not able to be there to show me the spot, but gave me enough information to put me in the area of the loss. When I got there I sent her a picture, and we were able to narrow the search area even more. I searched for about 15 minutes before I found the bracelet. It looked like someone might have stepped on it because it had been bent out of shape, but with no damage of any kind. We arranged to meet the next day for the return, and that is when she explained that the bracelet was given to her by her partner on their trip to Japan, and had a very deep sentimental meaning for her.

Somers Point NJ Lost Engagement Ring Found by Ring Finders South Jersey

A Lost Engagement Ring at Somers Point Turns Into a Miracle Recovery

What started as a beautiful family beach day quickly turned into panic when I realized I had lost my engagement ring at Somers Point Bay Beach in Somers Point, New Jersey.

This beach means a lot to me. My grandmother had a camper at Colonial Meadows Campground, and we spent every summer here. I brought my toddler and 3-month-old daughter to the same spot, hoping to recreate those special memories. Unfortunately, I never imagined I’d end the day searching for a priceless piece of my past — my engagement ring.

While applying sunscreen, I removed both my engagement ring and wedding band and placed them in the cup holder of our wagon. At some point, the rings fell into the sand. About 40 minutes later, while feeding my baby, I looked down and realized they were gone.

Panic hit me like a wave.

I found my wedding band buried in the sand, but my engagement ring was missing. Two kind moms saw me searching and jumped in to help. Despite our efforts, the ring was nowhere to be found.

Then someone mentioned calling a professional ring finder.

Enter John from Ring Finders South Jersey. I called him, not expecting much — but to my surprise, he answered right away. Though I couldn’t meet him at the beach (I was already home making dinner), I texted him photos of the exact area we were in.

He confidently said he’d search that evening.

And he did. Not only did John find my engagement ring in the sand — but he also drove it to my house and personally returned it. I was shocked, overwhelmed with emotion, and so incredibly thankful.

John’s kindness, dedication, and skill are something I’ll never forget. He turned a nightmare into a miracle. If you’ve lost jewelry at the beach, in the yard, or anywhere in between, don’t wait — call the ring finder in South Jersey.

These professionals use specialized metal detecting equipment and years of expertise to recover lost rings, necklaces, keys, and more. And in my case? They return something that’s truly priceless.

Thank you, John. You’re a hero.

I was tagged by several folks in a post on Cape May Live. The poster was asking for people to keep an eye out for her husband’s gold ring that slipped off in the surf. I messaged the couple and we chatted back and forth about what exactly happened and where. She was able to outline the specific area and time of day that the loss occurred. Timing wise, I felt that the best chances would be during the low tide cycle the following morning. I took the 5 minute ride for home yesterday morning and began searching. After about 1 hour or so I got the signal I was searching for and out popped the ring from thigh deep surf. The couple confirmed the inscribed date and picked up the ring yesterday afternoon. They both thought the ring was “gone forever” after 27 years of marriage. Another happy couple!
