The sun, the sand, the surf – a day at the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ is the perfect way to soak up the joy of summer. But for Rebecca, a carefree afternoon took a stressful turn when her platinum ring slipped off her finger and disappeared into the sand. Panic set in as she realized her treasured possession might be lost forever.
Fortunately, Rebecca knew just what to do. She contacted the Ring Finders South Jersey, and soon, I was on the scene, ready to track down the missing ring. With a keen eye and expert knowledge, I was ready to work, meticulously searching the sand.
Thanks to the swift action and professional expertise, the search was short-lived. Within minutes, the ring was nestled safely back on Rebecca’s finger, its journey in the sand at an end. The beach day that had threatened to take a disastrous turn instead ended on a triumphant note, all thanks to the power of metal detecting.
Rebecca’s story is one that plays out all too often on beaches up and down the Jersey Shore. A moment’s inattention, a sudden movement, and a treasured ring is gone, swallowed up by the sand. The panic that sets in is instant – will the ring be lost forever, a memory washed away with the tide?
But as Rebecca’s experience shows, all is not lost when a ring goes missing on the beach. With the right help, even the tiniest of tokens can be recovered, restoring not just a piece of jewelry, but the memories and meaning it holds.
On the official first day of summer Viola lost her platinum wedding band in the ocean while tossing a football on the beach in Cape May, NJ. After realizing that her ring had fallen off in the water, she saw a fellow metal detectorist combing the beach who referred her to me. We set a time to meet and search for the ring. The search began in waist deep water in the ocean and after a quick but though search, the ring was found 20 minutes later! The ring was recovered and returned to its owner!

Nick was walking his dog along the beach in Cape May, New Jersey when his gold wedding band slipped off his finger and disappeared into the sand. It was only later that he realized his ring was missing and, sought my help to find it. I arrived about thirty minutes later and got some more details from Nick before starting the search. We initially focused on the area where he had rested with his dog, but the ring was nowhere to be found. Thus, I decided to expand our search along the route he had taken. Approximately 200 feet from our starting point and about an hour later my metal detector emitted a promising sound, there it was, Nick’s missing wedding band! A Great day in Cape May, NJ.

Stefania called me to help find her husband’s lost wedding band on the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ. They left the beach a few hours prior and realized it was missing. She explained that Chris put the ring in the chair and figured it must have fallen out when she packed up. I met the family on the beach in the general area and began the search. The ring didn’t turn up in the search area, so the only option was to look where a nearby couple was sitting. The couple was kind to move their belongings
and it wound up being under their chair! Stefania and Chris were excited to get the ring back and resume the remainder of their vacation in Wildwood Crest, NJ.

Anusha gave me a call after her uncle Ram lost his wedding band. The family spent the day on the beach near Convention Hall in Cape May, NJ enjoying some time together. They started a game of volleyball and the ring came off during an attempt to hit the ball. I started the search in the general area where they thought it may have landed. After a few passes of the metal detector, the ring was back on Ram’s finger!

I had the opportunity to be part of an extremely special and exciting recovery this past weekend in Wildwood, NJ. Holden and Carley are high school sweethearts from the Hershey, PA area who were in town helping with their local color guard who competed at the Tournament of Bands Indoor Championship at the Wildwoods Convention Center. Carley enjoys looking for seashells, so Holden’s plan was to propose to her on the beach the night before they were leaving to go home.
Holden put the engagement ring in his shirt pocket before they left for the beach, so he could pull it out easily when it was time to propose. They were out on the beach for a while collecting shells, but when it was time to take the ring out of his pocket, he realized it wasn’t there. He figured it fell out while bending over to pick up a shell and thought it was lost forever. His mother Christi’s friend suggested they give me a call to help find the ring, so she texted me a little after 10 PM on Saturday night. We met at the entrance to the beach a few minutes after I responded to their text, and he gave me more information about the sequence of events from earlier that day and landmarks he remembered.
The search area was quite large, and it was close to 11 PM before I got started. It was dark, chilly and windy on the beach that night, but we were determined to find the ring. After gridding for roughly 25 minutes, I stopped to ask Holden a few more questions which quickly led me to where the ring was buried. A few swings with the metal detector in a more precise area, and the ring was found!
The events that unfolded next were truly awesome to watch. Holden went back to meet Carley and was able to propose with the engagement ring. It is a memory that will not be forgotten.
