… Robert and Monique were at Balboa Pier which is located in the city of Newport Beach, CA. Monique dropped her gold diamond stud earring in the sand.

After frantically search by hand with no success, Robert contacted me asking for help. I did tell him there was a possibility that it may be difficult to find with a metal detector because some stud earrings don’t have enough metal.

I do have a special detector that has settings that work well for small gold and I carry  sifting equipment if necessary.

This search was successful using my high frequency metal detector settings. Thankfully it was not buried too deep in the sand after all their attempts to find it.

This was an hierloom past down from a relative and irreplaceable. I always feel good after these small metal recoveries because they can be difficult to find.

Lost Car Key Fob on Hiking Trail … Found and Returned .. Costa Mesa, CA.

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I Helped Andy find his key fob, I am available to help you, if you lost an item that can be found with a metal detector.. Call or Text Stan the Metal Detector Man .. 949-500-2136

*** Andy lost his electronic car key fob while hiking on a local hiking trail near his home in Costa Mesa, CA.

He called me for help after looking for two days. We decided that it has to be hiding out of sight. Which is a perfect situation to use a metal detector. It does help to hear his story to determine if we can use a metal detector.

He had strayed off the trail one time to pick up some trash. This was where he thought the fob could have slipped from his hand. When we got to the general area, he pointed out a bush that he recognized as the spot where the trash had been.

We did find the key fob, but it was not near the bush. It was near a bush 30 feet away from where he thought he picked up the trash. Happens all the time, I always know, that after a person leaves the site of the loss, it is difficult to get back to the same location. We call it searching outside the box.

It was a pleasure to help Andy, and I know it saved him a lot of time and expense. I got to see a happy guy that was relieved to have his lost item returned.

Joseph called me for help in finding his lost ring. He had been playing volley ball with friends, when he hit the ball, and his ring flew off. After an unfruitful search in the sand at the court, he called. I was available, and knowing that he was still at the spot encouraged me to go immediately to try and have a successful recovery.

When I got to the beach Joseph saw me walking in his direction, and waved me over. We talked a bit about what had happened, where he was standing when he hit the ball, and where he believed the ring went into the sand. I got my equipment ready, and let him know that it could possibly be in another part of the court, but my search would find it. I began in the direction he showed me, and within 30 seconds I was able to give him back his ring. He was very happy, and I was happy for him. A great day!

Pendant Lost from Necklace in the Sand at Corona Del Mar State Beach Recovered and Returned

Tim was playing volleyball with his friends at Corona Del Mar Beach with is in the city of Newport Beach, CA. When he jumped up to spike a ball over the net. He felt his cross pendant snag on the net. His cross pendant pulled loose from his necklace.

His friends found me detecting on the beach asking for help to find Tim’s sentimental keepsake.

A short walk across the sand was not a problem for me. Besides I’d rather recover and return a lost item for someone than wonder around on the beach finding a few coins, pull tabs and bottle caps.

Tim was able to show me the general area. A couple quick swings of my detector coil and I received a signal. Good thing the metal detector was in all metal mode because the cross was ferrous metal. I’ve learned in past searches that you can’t always assume that jewelry is precious metals. I could have missed the target if I was searching in discrimination mode.

He and his friends were very happy to see how easy it was to find their friend’s pendant. They didn’t know that they could have spent hours trying to find it in the sand.. Timing was important as it is with all searches.

Petite Gold Bracelet Lost in Grass Lawn .. Costa Mesa,CA. .. Found with High Frequency Metal Detector

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

If you lose your valuable in a place where a metal detector can be used, I am available to help, call now. .. 949-500-2136.

**** It was a hot summer day when Hailey’s neighbor set up some sprinklers with water slides in their front lawn. All the neighborhood kids including Hailey’s daughter had fun playing in the water most the afternoon. Later that evening Hailey discovered that her favorite gold bracelet was missing. She knew it was on her arm that morning. Possibly, it could have fallen off on the lawn while playing with the kids.

She wasn’t quite sure where the loss occurred. So after frantically searching everywhere she had been that day, she thought maybe the very small gold bracelet may be in her neighbor’s lawn. While trying to rent a metal detector detector she found my contact information on line.

I was able to meet her that same morning. Where she showed me a similar type gold necklace. It was very fine links which I could only get a faint signal with my high frequency coil on my XP Deus metal detector. The first and most probable area did not yield the bracelet. Hailey looked a little disappointed as I exhausted the first area and then suggested the spot where the plastic kids pool was set up.

I had been thinking about switching out to one of my other detectors before calling it a “No Find”.  Another time just as I was running out of places to search I got a decent signal. Dropping to my knees to spread the grass apart, I could barely see the small 18k gold chain bracelet.

Successful search with Hailey totally surprised and happy that she called a member of TheRingFinders for help, even though she wasn’t positive that where she had lost her precious bracelet she would feel better if she had the grass searched by someone that knew how to use a metal detector.  This was the type of jewelry that could be a problem for any other type metal detector to find.

Mobile Metal Detector Service by Stan Ross member of TheRingFinders call or text now.. 949-500-2136 .. Available Now

****’Kerry and her fiancé Ben were attending a beach party at Doheny State Beach Campgrounds, Dana Point ,CA.  She put her platinum/diamond engagement ring on her lap while applying sunscreen. After getting up, the ring fell into the sand. She didn’t notice her ring missing for about an hour after getting up. Even though she knew the small area where the ring should be, neither she or any of her friends could find it.

One of the friends in their group told Kerry to call TheRingFinders. So Kerry called me asking me if I was available to help her find her engagement ring. I was just finishing another search, so I met her an hour later.

It was a happy group of beach people waiting to see if I could find the ring that everybody had tried to find. I just told them that I have the best tool to find rings and I know how to operate it. Fingers do not work well to find rings in the sand. I started in a straight line towards the suspected zone of the loss, when I got a signal. About 10 or 12 of the group got excited when the saw me pause over the signal. I just said, “calm down, this could be a pull tab or a platinum/diamond engagement ring” … Boom !!!  Kerry’s ring in the scoop.  She lit up like a Christmas tree, big smile and relieved that she had her special ring back where it belongs. It’s nice to get an easy search now and then. The unsuccessful searches take hours and we don’t write about them in our blogs.

Lost Wedding Ring After Putting into Beach Chair Cup Holder .. San Clemente, CA. .. Found using Metal Detector Specialist

Metal detecting service available to help you find your lost ring or other precious metallic jewelry.. 949-500-2136

***** Janet and Paul were attending a family reunion at a beach front home near San Clemente, CA.  A beautiful home right on the sand with a couple dozen family members present when Janet lost her gold diamond wedding ring in the sand.

The evening before calling me most every body set up their beach chairs in the sand only 20 ft. in front of the beach house. Janet put her two rings in the pocket of the beach chair. Then after moving back into the house she could only find the engagement ring in the chair pocket. The wedding ring had to be in the sand only a few  feet in front of the patio.  That night and the next morning many of the group tried their hand at finding her ring while everyone sat on the patio watching the search.

After almost a day after searching without finding the ring. Someone in the group found my contact information while trying to rent a metal detector. I was able to meet Paul shortly after he called me. Walking through the house I seemed to have a big audience of family who were curious to see if I could find the ring. After they had all tried, using fingers, rakes and sifting methodically with a sand crab sifting tool.

Setting up the detector to eliminate some of the electrical interference from the building, I began my 20ft. square grid search. The ring showed up on my second pass just as I was telling my onlookers not to get excited when I dig a target because I remove all metallic items as I search.

Everybody cheered and smiled as I held up the ring for Janet. Not all searches go this well. Metal detectors work real good for finding a ring if the ring is there. The right tool for the right job. Finger dragging, rakes and sand crab sifters are not very effective for finding and important irreplaceable sentimental piece of jewelry like a wedding ring.

It still doesn’t bother me to search for hours to eliminate an area that may ring may be hiding. It’s all part of searching. Eliminate one area so you can go to the next possible hiding place. We post our successful finds but many people don’t realize that our unsuccessful searches lead into hour and hours of searching. It sometimes gets boring and discouraging. I still learn with every search and get more experience with each hunt, that’s rewarding.
