Lost Engagement Ring Found at Crescent Beach.

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Last night around 8pm I was getting ready to go out and search the Vancouver beaches after the sunny hot day we had, and we haven’t had many!  Just before I left I received a call from a young lady asking if I can help her find her lost ring.  Of course I dropped everything I was doing and started on my way to Crescent Beach to help her.

After 6 hours of searching for the diamond engagement ring Jen & her husband went online to search for help and that’s when they found me on TheRingFinders.com. They said that they were a little concerned about having someone they didn’t know come out and search for the ring but after seeing the website and reading the testimonials and see all the smiles they felt more comfortable with the idea.

When I arrived I met  Jenn and her husband and they show me the area that they had searched, they told me a lady stopped and helped them and she recovered the wedding band.

This was good news because I knew that meant the other ring was close! That being said they didn’t mark the area where the other ring was found so it took a little while to find what I was looking for… but I did!

Ring lost at Ocean Beach Found.

  • from La Jolla (California, United States)

Bradford and his wife were visiting from out of town and enjoying a day at the beach on the 4th until Bradford lost his wedding ring in the late afternoon in ankle deep water. It disappeared into the sand and no way it would be found with the naked eye.100_1456 100_1457 They returned the next morning hoping they could spot it, but, it was not to be. They saw several people with metal detectors searching the beach that morning, but, nobody had found it. Some even tried to help by searching the target area, but, the ring didn’t show itself. Disappointed, They went home.

I got the call for help on the 6th, and, even though I thought it likely someone had already found it, I heading down to the beach to give it my best, and ease their minds that it wasn’t still just laying there. After close to an hour of carefully gridding the area and not a single target (good or bad!), I figured my assessment was correct and the area had been hammered by other detectorists. Just then, my Excalibur gave me a nice big signal, and low and behold, it was Bradford’s ring! Surprise and satisfaction for me, and happiness for Bradford. He and his wife drove down today and were reunited with the ring. A pleasure meeting you both and thank you for the reward.

While swimming in port elgin beach the night before she came to shore and noticed her engagement ring was no longer on her finger and had to be sitting in the bottom of the beach somewhere. Don of cherished finds was already in the area so he began the search right away and with the help of his wife found the ring within a couple hours!

Two Rings One Search – Lost Ring in Sauble Beach Ontario Canada

About a week ago we received a call from a pretty upset couple who had lost their wedding ring in Sauble Beach. We drove up that day to search and within a few minutes had a strong beep, we instantly dug the signal knowing it would be good and sure enough we pulled up a beautiful gold wedding band.

Excitedly we called back the owner and sent them a photo to hear them respond in a sad tone and say « That isnt my ring » Turns out in the same location we found another wedding band!! We continued the search that night and came out empty handed. We returned a few days later and searched another 6ish hours creating a grid and expanding the search as far as possible in the directions we were told they went. Again we came out without a ring.

At this point we were beginning to wonder where this ring could be, we knew the last chance to find this ring was to call them up and see if they would possibly drive 2 and a half hours to meet us at the location. They both kindly agreed to this and left there home town at 5:30am to meet us on the water at 8:00. My dad and myself new the ring wasnt in the location we had thought it was, the last hope was to have them redo their entire actions from that day and eliminate all the possibilities.

We met them at the beach and began right away by asking many questions,

when did you notice the ring was missing?

Where were you when it fell off?

Did you walk away from the area at any point?

Etc.

After many questions we figured there was a few options, the ring was lost walking to get food, around their main on land location or it was out further than we had searched due to aggressive waves and a miss communication over the phone in terms of how deep he was actually out.

We gridded off the land with no luck and decided to move out much deeper than we searched previous days, the husband and wife both went out into the water with us (which was not super warm) and within five minutes of searching where he believed it was lost we found this amazing gold wedding band.

Moral of the story is never give up, continue to expand the grid and ask as many questions as possible!

Special Ring Lost at Clearwater Beach then Found and Returned

Elizabeth, her husband Jonas and son Elias are on holiday from Helsingborg Sweden and ready to enjoy all that Florida has to offer.  The water was warm and welcoming as Elizabeth swished her hands in the clear blue Gulf of Mexico.  As she lifted her hands up she realized that the ring her husband had gotten in Thailand and given to her 16 years ago was gone.  Heartbroken, they searched for hours with no luck.  That is when they went online and contacted Mike Miller.  Mike contacted Paul Hill who he knew was off today and available for a rapid response.  He made his way to Clearwater Beach and met up with Elizabeth.  Paul looked at his watch, 3:29, picked his north to south line based on some questions he asked and on tide information that he had be given by Mike on the drive over.  Thirty or so feet later he got a solid 12-27 signal, presenting his scoop to Elizabeth she reached in and retrieved her white gold and ruby ring then almost knocked Paul over with big hug.  Quick look at his watch…3:34.  The happy family headed back up to the beach ready to enjoy the rest of their 3 week vacation!
SRARC is very happy that we were able to help and wish them safe travels back home.

Wedding Ring lost and Found then Returned on St Pete Beach, Florida

Jim and Mary Beth down from North Dakota were married the evening before in front of the Sirata Hotel on St Pete Beach. The next afternoon Jim was playing paddle ball with some family members and suddenly realized he no longer had his brand new wedding ring on his finger. A large group of family members were staying at the hotel and they all searched diligently but could not find it. One of the family members stopped a passing beach patrol officer and was told to try and contact SRARC. She called the number immediately and Mike Miller answered. He and his son Jeffery were just a few miles away at Madeira Beach and headed right down to the Sirata.

Most of the family met them there and explained where Jim had spent most of his time which was a very small area of about 30 by 30 sq. feet. Mike and Jeffery went right to work from both ends of the area. In about 5 minutes Mike got a good hit and up came the ring. It was a great feeling when the whole family cheered as Jim put his wedding ring back onto the finger it belongs on. Lots of smiles and back patting ended the event. We are so happy we could keep this wedding experience a great memory.

Lost and Found Wedding Ring Returned at Siesta Key, Florida

As he walked out of the water, Zane realized he had lost his wedding ring. Devastated, he told his wife and then all the family joined in the search but with no luck. They had all come to Florida from Atlanta, Georgia to enjoy the beaches and then take the kids to Disney World so this event was just not in the plan.

Zane had been tossing a football in the water with his brother and never felt the ring come off his finger. His sister-in-law Kimberly immediately googled lost ring Sarasota and SRARC popped up on The Ring Finders. She contacted Tom who passed her on to Mike. They had people waiting in the area that the ring was lost but they needed to leave for their trip to Orlando soon. Mike headed down to Siesta Key right away and arrived as they began to pack up their beach gear. After getting the lay of the land, Mike went to work and after about 30 minutes the ring came back out of the water and into Zane’s hand. Zane was all smiles and they all were soon on their way to Disney world I’m sure to the children’s delight.

Diamond Wedding Ring Lost, Found and Returned on Longboat Key, Florida

Kara and Joe were visiting Long Boat Key from Oklahoma City. They went out to the beach behind the condo where they were staying with their family. Kara handed her husband Joe her wedding band while she was putting sun screen on her daughter. Joe put the ring on his little finger so as not to lose it. After a while, Kara remembered that she had given her ring to Joe asked for it back. That is when Joe realized that the ring had fallen off. He knew that it couldn’t be far since he had not moved from the area by the umbrella.

They got a sand sifter and started sifting but no luck, they could not find the ring. Joe googled metal detector rental and contacted Phil Myers’s Detector Depot in Tampa who referred him to Tom Jones. Joe contacted Tom and asked for his help. They had circled the beach chairs around the area and kept a vigil till Tom could get to the site. Tom arrived and headed out to the beach with Kara. She pointed out the hole in the sand where the umbrella had been and said that the ring had to be somewhere around it. Tom turned on his detector and started hunting around the hole, once he circled the hole he swung the coil over the umbrella hole and got a hit, he yelled out “it’s in the hole”. He kicked some sand out of the hole with his foot and Kara’s brother in law who was watching intently said, “there it is” as he reached down and picked up the ring.

Needless to say Kara started jumping up and down as she ran to Tom and hugged him.

Madeira Beach Wedding Ring Lost and Found, Then returned by SRARC

Dan was at the beach on Madeira Beach with his family enjoying the water when he realized that his ring was lose and decided to take it off and put it on a larger finger. When he took it off he fumbled it and it fell into the water and it disappeared in the sand. At this time Dan used good logic and had his father in law stand in the spot so Dan could triangulate some land marks to make it easier to locate the spot.

He Googled metal detector rental and found SRARC. He called Stan Flack who was just finishing a hunt on Sand Key Beech and Stan told him he would be there as soon as possible. Stan was joined by Ed Osmar and the two started hunting. Within 10 minutes Stan found the ring and returned it to a very happy Dan.

Wedding Ring Lost and Found, Then Returned on Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida

Anthony and Ryan were down from Pittsburg visiting friends on Pass-A-Grille Beach just in time to experience Tropical Storm Colin. On Monday, June 6, Anthony noticed the Bimini top on the pontoon boat behind the house where they were staying was starting to blow off. He went out in the wind and rain to remove the top and inadvertently his wedding band fell off his finger and into the water between the dock and the boat. Thinking that it was gone forever he contacted some friends looking for suggestions on how to get his ring back.

One of his friends has a friend that is a member of Treasure Net Forum who contacted Stan Flack to try and locate the ring. Stan went out on Thursday and hunted for a short while and decided to try the search when the tide went out later that evening. He contacted Tom Jones to do another hunt at low tide.

Friday evening Tom and Joe Szemer went to the site to perform a second hunt. Just like most docks there was a lot of trash on the bottom. After 30 minutes and recovering everything from bolts to electric motor parts Tom moved under the boat motor and got a good target. When his scoop surfaced the ring was laying on the top of the ball of mud. Tom yelled out, “I got it”. Everyone on the dock ran over to watch Tom hand the ring up to Anthony.

Thanks again to the Ringfinders Group of SRARC, another couple will be headed back home with a great story and not a sad memory.
