Watch Lost and Found, Then Returned at One Tree Island Clearwater, Florida

Robert’s Watch was lost as he jumped from the aft of his boat and caught it on the edge. He and a boating buddy had been enjoying the day playing on the island when the boat began drifting away from the shore so he quickly jumped in to push it back in. The watch was a gift from his wife and very important to him. They tried snorkeling for it but after a few days decided to ask for help. They found SRARC on The Ring Finders and contacted Mike Miller. After an unsuccessful hunt Mike told them he would look for a good low tide day and schedule another hunt. For two weeks Robert and his wife scuba dived the area looking for the watch. Three weeks later a great low tide appeared and the SRARC team showed up for the hunt. Robert and His wife ferried all 8 of them out to the island. The team, Jerry and Debbie Schneider, Paul Hill, Howard Metts, Dimitur Alipiev, Mark Sillence, Joe Montione, and Mike went to work. About 45 minutes later Jerry and Debbie shouted « we found it ». We all joined in and called Robert over so we could return his watch. As you can see there were lots of smiles. Congratulations Jerry and Debbie on a great recovery.

Lost Blue and White Diamond Ring .. Point Dume State Beach, Malibu, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Richard and Ariel had come to Malibu from Modesto, CA. for a graduation ceremony of a family member. After the event many members of the family and other friends went to Point Dume State Beach for a good old fashion beach party.
Playing volleyball on the sand Ariel felt her ring fly off her finger. This ring was very sentimental as she had helped her grandfather pick this ring to give to her grandmother many years ago. After her grandfather past away, her grandmother gifted it to her. She was devastated. Several hours of searching with their hands proved unsuccessful.
This part of the State Beach is a couple hundred feet below the cliff side with several hundred steps to access the beach. Another new beach for me, another adventure. Celphone reception is not very good. They had to hike to the top to call me.. After hearing the story, I told them there was a very good chance to find the ring, but I need somebody to stand by to show me the general area. It looked like I could meet them before it got dark.
The women left and Richard, Ariel’s fiancé stayed with four of the guys to guide me. It took about a half hour to grid the area they thought the ring could be. I was nearing the end of my grid, thinking about setting up a cross grid. Everybody was getting up tight, then a solid sound very close to the water line and 30 ft. from where they thought her ring flew off.
It was another joyous moment and I took time to get photos. A beautiful classy ring that Richard said was a blue Stone with 3 white diamonds on each side. Too nice to be lost forever in the sand because they didn’t know about TheRingFinders.com. Then they had to listen to me tell ring search stories, as we hiked up the trail to our cars. They had to return to 250 miles by car to Modesto, CA. the next day and while traveling Ariel called me to personally thank me.

Wedding Ring Lost and Found, then Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Jim was at the beach enjoying the day with his family.  He decided to go for a swim and took his ring off for safe keeping, placing it on the beach bag where they had set up.  When he got out someone had moved the bag and the ring was gone.  The family tried sifting the sand for an hour or so making 2 large piles of sifted sand and then gave up.   Not wanting to give up,  Jim’s daughter Chris googled metal detectors and came across the ring finders page where she found SRARC.  Chris called Tom Jones who then passed the information on to team member Stan Flack who was already out hunting in the area.  Stan made his way to Chris at the beach and started hunting the area the family had circled, no ring.  Then Stan knocked down sift pile #1, no ring.  On to sift pile #2, bingo to the delight of one bag moving daughter (shhh).  Chris called her dad down to the beach to share the news and smiles all the way around.

Wedding Ring Set Lost and Found, then Returned on St Pete Beach, Florida

Michelle and her husband were enjoying a game of catch at the edge of the water last Sunday.  Michelle went to catch the ball and it knocked both of her rings off her finger.  She had just got the rings 2 months earlier as a gift from her husband for 20 years of marriage.  After a few days of fretting over the lost rings and thinking she could never enjoy her favorite beach again knowing her rings were lost there, Michelle googled lost rings and found SRARC on our Ring Finders page and sent an email.  Stan Flack sent an email and began communication, passing off the gathering of detailed information to Mike Miller as Stan was out of town at the time.  A hunt date was set for that evening.  Stan Flack, Chris Duerden, and Jim Adams all joined in the hunt.  The team began to cover the areas Michelle indicated and after a short while Michelle directed the team slightly more south.  After about 45 minutes of Hunting, Stan Flack scooped up the wedding band.  A very excited Michelle came out to get the band while Stan swept near and scooped up the other ring.  Smiles and squeals of delight ensued.  The return of peoples lost rings never gets old. Nice job team SRARC you just keep the smiles coming.

Clearwater Beach Lost Wedding Ring Set Found and Returned

Javan and his wife were spending some time at Clearwater Beach after their wedding that day. They had played in the hotel pool for a while then got out and walked to the sandy beach and sat down on the lounge chairs to warm up. Javan’s new wife had her wedding ring set in her hand and when they decided to get up and go into the gulf she slide them back onto her finger.

They walked a few steps into the water and it felt so good they sat down, leaned back and let the water wash over them. Later they went deeper into the gulf and just enjoyed each other and the warm water. Later as they emerged from the water they noticed the wedding set was missing. They looked everywhere but it was not to be found.

The next day Javan found SRARC through The Ring Finders site and we organized a hunt for that evening. Stan Flack, Bill Gallant, Ed Osmar, Celeste Roles, and Mike Miller showed up and met Javan at 6:30 pm. Javan explained what had happened and where they had been and we went to work searching the water and the sand. After a couple hours we all were losing hope when Bill Gallant walks over to Javan and asks Javan to look into his scoop and there it was. Javan jumped for joy and we all joined in. We didn’t get to see the look on Javan’s wife’s face when he put the ring on her finger for the second time in two days but I bet she was all smiles.

We wish these two the best for their future and are happy we could help them. Bill you did a great service for this couple and we congratulate you on your success in finding the ring.

Wedding Ring Set Lost, Found, and Returned in Saint Petersburg, Florida

Anna Maria and her husband got into a small argument one evening about a month ago. Her husband decided to leave the apartment for a while to let things cool down. He made a last comment as he was walking away and it turned out to be the last straw for Anna Maria. She took off her three rings and threw them in his direction. It was dark so she waited until the next morning to look for them but had no luck. Over the next month she kept looking but never could find them. On the day of their 4 year anniversary she was feeling really sad about her lost rings and she decided to see if she could get some help. She googled lost rings and up popped SRARC. She called Mike and he tried to see if he could schedule a hunt for later in the week as it was raining cats and dogs. She really wanted to see if they could be found on her anniversary day and really wanted someone to come right away.

Mike headed out thinking he was going to get soaked but couldn’t turn her down. When he arrived the rain had stopped but Anna Maria was gone so he called her and got the location where she thought the rings (3) would be. It was in an area that was almost all hedge. He worked over the tops and underneath after shaking each bush. He moved away from the initial area and instantly eyeballed the engagement ring setting in the dirt in plain sight, probably uncovered by the rain. Along side the dirt area were more hedges and also a short strip of grass. After working over the hedges, he started on the grass. In a few moments the promise claddagh ring showed up hidden under the grass. Further searching sadly did not uncover the lost wedding ring. What fun it was to return two of her rings and see the smiles on Anna Maria, her husband, and her mothers faces. Mike will be returning tomorrow to spend a little more time to see if he can find the remaining missing ring. SRARC would like to wish Anna Maria and her husband a very happy anniversary. Two out of Three is not bad!!!!!!!!

Gold and Diamond Engagement Ring Lost, Recovered, and Returned at Fred Howard Beach in Tarpon Springs

Brittany was at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs enjoying the day with family. She put her engagement ring on her bag so she could put sunscreen on her daughter. She looked up to see her young daughter running towards the water. When it was time to leave she forgot that the ring was on the bag. Packed up and headed home. Realizing later that the ring was gone she was devistated. A friend of hers heard about it and contacted his friend and SRARC member Mark Prue. Mark couldn’t get away so he contacted another member Stan Flack. Stan and his wife Linda headed up to the beach to search. After an hour drive it only took 10 minutes for Stan to recover and reunite it with Brittney.
SRARC wishes her and her future husband all the best and are happy that we could make the journey a little bit smoother!
Thanks to the Flacks for being so willing to share of your time and talents.

Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring Lost and Found, then returned on Clearwater Beach, Florida

Amy was in town visiting her sister’s family at their beach house on Clearwater Beach. On Wednesday night she remembered taking her engagement ring off when she went to bed and did not remember putting it back on Thursday morning even though her mother had seen it on her finger while visiting on Thursday. That night Amy realized that the ring was missing. The whole family searched everywhere on the property and could not find the ring. They even brought all the trash back in and went through it.

Amy had to leave the following morning but once she got home she found SRARC and called Tom pleading for help. It seemed to Tom like a wild goose chase but he agreed to come out and search the yard if for no other reason but to disprove the chance that it could be in the yard around the pool.

Tom arrived and met Amy’s Brother in Law Mike. He immediately went to work with his detector and pin pointer searching the gravel area around the pool with no luck. He then went outside the yard and started searching the area around the parking spot. Eventually reaching the trash canister as his detector was swinging over the gravel near the trash the setting sun bounced off something in the grass just 4 feet from the trash. It was Amy’s diamond ring. At that same time Mike came out to Tom and asked “No luck yet hey?” Tom said look right there as he had not even picked the ring up yet.

Mike called Amy to tell her the good news. She answered and could not believe that the ring had been found and broke out into tears of Joy.

Platinum wedding band lost, Cocoa Beach, Florida……Found!!

  • from Sanford (Florida, United States)
Contact:

I received an e-mail and a phone call from Trisha in Minneapolis, Minnesota saying she found my name on theringfinders web site and explained to me that her husband had lost his wedding ring in the water at Cocoa Beach and could I help? I assured Trisha that I am always willing to help, but a big part of being successful at finding people’s lost rings is in the information given to us about where and when and how the ring was lost. The more precise the answers to these questions the more the chances go up of finding ones precious lost item. Trisha explained that she could send me photos of the area where the ring was lost with possible GPS coordinates.
Later that evening I was able to go on Google Maps and type in the GPS numbers and low and behold it gave me an exact location as to where the father-in-law was standing when he took the pictures on the beach! With this information I was able to zoom in on the aerial view and calculate how many feet from the 2nd boardwalk it would be to the exact spot where the photo was taken

031.

All week the surf had been very rough with a strong north current and the soonest I could get down to Cocoa Beach would be on Friday, and the surf would be only 1 to 2 feet. I was excited to be on my way! I packed up 2 wet suits, scuba boots, pvc marking poles, beach chair, metal detectors, scoops, etc… I arrived at the beach and bundled up as best I could against the 60 degree water and stiff winds. And after pacing out my calculations, I set up my chair and proceeded to put poles out into the water as well. From the photos it appeared the camera angle was pointing a bit south so I marked out an area roughly 70X70 yards and began by grid search. Using the technique Chris Turner recommends by backing into the surf to keep your lines straight and overlapping, I covered the area in about 2 hours—but NO RING! I felt sure it was there but figured I needed to expand my search further north because of the strong current and high winds. And sure enough, after 3 passes I found the ring in waist deep water under 4 inches of sand! I was shaking as I collected my stuff and headed to the shower to change. The shaking was not only from being cold but was with the excitement of finding another lost ring and the anticipation of returning it to Trisha and her very surprised husband–Josh!!

You see, Josh and his father and two brothers had come to Daytona to see the races and spend some time at the beach. And returning home without his 12 year old wedding ring was extremely hard! So his dear wife, Trisha, decided she would surprise Josh and that’s where this story–our story begins! I never would have come close to finding Josh’s ring without Trisha’s help and those GPS numbers.

The following day I went to the UPS office and mailed their ring 2 day delivery and thankfully this story has a very happy ending! Trisha wanted to include me in the surprise so Monday evening I was able to talk to Josh on the phone and explain who I was and what we do–along with all the details. And as I got to the part of the story where I found the ring, Trisha was able to hold out her hand and actually give him his own ring–the very one he lost exactly one week earlier in the Atlantic Ocean–1,625 miles away! I would love to have seen his face when she handed him his ring! Hey?!! And that is what theringfinders is all about!
It was an absolute honor and thrill to help Trisha and Josh get their ring back! And thank you so much for your most generous reward!
Lost a ring? Call ASAP! We are here to help!
