With the beautiful weather and the long weekend, I thought I would post a PSA. If you are looking at my page and in need of someone to help you find your lost ring or item, please immediately remove any posts you have made on social media about where you lost it. I know you mean well but unfortunately there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there that will go and try to find it that don’t have good intentions. The fact is that in all of the years I have been doing this, I have only been able to recover one expensive ring that was first shared extensively on social media. 😳. So take a deep breath and give me a call. I won’t ask you for any specific information on where your ring is until you and I are both comfortable and then I will go get it for you and put that ring back on your finger where it belongs. Lost Wedding Band Found Under Porch, Falls Church Virginia

April 16th, 2020. During the Wuhan virus pandemic.

Andrew emailed me asking for help to find a ring, not for himself, but for his friend Hazel. In January, Hazel was sitting on the front porch when her ring slipped from her hand and hit the wood deck. They were not sure if the ring rolled off into some bushes or slipped in between the boards. Andrew knew in his heart that the ring was there and it could be found. He had looked through the openings of the deck and around the bushes with a powerful light, but no luck.

When I arrived, I met Andrew and Mike.

Hoping the ring rolled or bounced off the low deck, I searched the bushes thoroughly with my AT Max. I found the usual hidden trash, but no ring. I then concentrated my search under the deck.

 

 

 

 

There were only a few inches of space to work. I detached my shaft and reached under the deck with my sniper coil. I borrowed a leaf rake from Mike as the one I brought was too large to fit under the deck. I heard targets and raked them out, then used my pinpointer to scan the debris.

It was then I had the pleasure of meeting Hazel. She remembered precisely how the ring sounded when it rolled on the wooden deck. From her description, I redoubled my efforts to search farther under the deck.

 

 

 

 

 

Found!

I stretched my arm and extended the coil to the limit when I heard a promising target. Mentally marking the spot, I used the leaf rake and pulled out more debris. I waved the pinpointer over the dirt and leaves and dug down to find the ring!

 

Andrew’s determination to help his friend resulted in a happy ending!

Found iPhone and tracked down owner

I was about to leave the beach when I got a loud signal and dug down over 12” in the wet sand when the iPhone appeared. It was wet but in very good condition.

When I got home I cleaned it and dried it in a bag of rice in the sun. Later I plugged it in and it started charging and actually turned on when I pressed the power button.

Since the phone was locked I removed the SIM card and put it in a different iphone and from the settings you can access the phone number to that SIM card.

I called the number and left a message, later that night Oscar called me back and I told him I found an iPhone and he acknowledged it was his and described it to me.

He was very grateful as he had photos and other media that was important to him. He sent me his address and I mailed his iPhone to his house.

Custom Made Knife slips into Lake Bridgeport, Texas

We received a call from an individual that had a rather odd request as the item lost was not jewelry, it was a very special one-of-a-kind, specially made fish filet knife that meant more to her husband than any of his other knives.  It was a 40th yr anniversary present, none like any other he’d ever received.     Magnet-fishing attempts to retrieve the knife from the 13-15 ft water depth were unsuccessful as the lake bottom held the support beams for their boathouse which was metal also.  Since the magnet-fishing did not work we were then contacted for help.  After deciding on a date/time for us to come out and dive for the knife, we loaded up all of the scuba equipment and headed to Lake Bridgeport, TX.  This fun hunt was cut short because the item was found within 10 minutes of being in the water.  The act of suiting up in the scuba gear and submerging into the water took longer than the actual find.  Now the knife is back on dry land where it belongs and we have a couple of very happy friends.

Engagement Ring Lost 6 Hours after Purchase in Kaufman, Texas

I received a call from an individual who said he had a problem.  He bought an engagement ring, made the proposal (she said Yes!!), a celebration party and accidentally lost the ring all in the same day!  He was beside himself and even went to the trouble of purchasing a metal detecting unit but was unsuccessful after hours of looking; 15 other individuals were trying to help but nope, no ring was recovered on that acre lot in Kaufman, Texas.   Looking on the internet brought him to our website and we scheduled a designated time to meet so we could use our 15-year expertise to do a search.  What began as ‘I hope it’s found’ turned to pure elation in about a 45 minute search with success.

Lost engagement ring, Casselberry, Florida….Found and Returned!

Michael, a newlywed of two months, emailed me asking about theringfinders service and if I would be available anytime soon to help look for his wife’s lost diamond engagement ring! I assured Michael that if he was confident about the area where she lost it then there would be a very good chance of finding it. Often people think they’ve lost something in more than one location and that usually means allot more work trying to locate the missing item. And thankfully in this case there were only two locations that they felt very confident about.

Gaby, Michael’s dear wife, had put her ring in her pants pocket along with her ear bud cord and she remembered pulling the cord from her pocket a couple of times while they were out taking some photos around a small pond in their neighborhood. And as with many ponds and water ways here in Florida come the usual wildlife that make themselves at home. And in this case there are allot of ducks…and Gaby was sure one of them had picked it up and possibly ate it!

I met Michael and Gaby the next morning bright and early and followed them to the first location where Gaby had posed for some photos. And after a 20 minute search of all the possible areas that she had walked the previous day…NO RING! So we walked along the sidewalk to the other side of the lake where more photos were taken. They again explained where Michael stood with the camera and the two places where Gaby had posed. So I set out a few marker flags and again got to work grid searching the final area. All along while searching I would get various sounding signals and when looking for a lost ladies wedding ring it is best to double check all the small foil like signals to be sure it is not the ring. Plus when looking for a recent drop it is almost sure to be just down in the grass and not buried in the dirt. And sure enough just as I was finishing up the final corner of the search area I got a loud signal reading of « 44 » on my Garrett ATMax metal detector and showing it was down two inches. I checked the target with my Garrett pin pointer and there hiding under the grass was Gaby’s lost engagement ring! So I laid the pin pointer on the ground with the ring laying just off the end and motioned to Michael and Gaby to come over and look at what I had just found. As she picked up her precious ring I said a heart felt thank you to God for allowing me to find her lost treasure.

Lost Gold Wedding Ring Re-recovered Vienna, VA

March 30th, 2020. Matt again called to report he’s lost his ring. He was doing some habitual, unplanned weeding in the yard when he realized too late that he forgot to remove the ring. After searching for about 30 minutes I found the ring at the base of some liriope grass. It was barely visible in the dry mulch, but un-findable without a detector. Go ahead and enlarge the photo…you really can see it!

Lost Ring Perdido Beach – FOUND!!!

Well this is a ring return I won’t ever forget. Even Covid-19 couldn’t stop this nice lady from getting her ring back on her finger. Two days ago, Tyler and her family were in Perdido Beach and on the way back to the car she had her engagement ring on her child’s stroller. As you can imagine, she hit a bumpy patch and by the time she got back to the car her ring was gone on the beach. Yesterday she posted all over social media in hopes that someone may have found it. This is usually a really bad idea because with that much info, someone that is not interested in returning it can find it and move along. Luckily a few people recommended my services (thank you!) and she sent me an email. She didn’t provide any information and didn’t even give me a phone number. Even though I sent her a few emails back she didn’t reply or call. This is totally normal because she was so shocked, I know she was probably trying to make sure she didn’t get scammed with promises of help and she was overwhelmed with the prospect of losing her ring forever. I felt bad for her and I knew that the longer all of the information stayed on the internet, the higher the chance she would never get it back. My friend Charlie and I had the chance to get out today and I talked him into heading to the area. Once there we were very lucky to find it pretty quickly based on our experience with where she may have lost it. I finally posted on Explore Pensacola and she called within the hour. I invited Tyler and her husband to my home and did my first ever social distancing ring return. 😃. I think they were both shocked that a total stranger would just go get her ring for her. I’m very glad to be able to do it. Thanks for the assist today Charlie!  God bless you all!!! 💍

Lost Ring Found…In Cedar Rapids, Iowa

The other day a man named Bryce contacted me about finding his Grandmother’s baby ring. He thought it was around 80 years old. It was handed down to him for his young daughter. She was wearing it while playing outside and lost it.

I had to make two trips to find it, the first time I was rained out. The second trip I found it in their backyard under the swing set. It was a small 10k with a green stone. They were relieved to have it back.
