LOST SHEETS OF GOLD in CHAPEL HILL, NC….. FOUND!!!!

  • from Jacksonville (North Carolina, United States)

This will be one of my best but craziest recoveries EVER! I still can’t believe I was actually able to find it for the daughter of the deceased man that buried it in their backyard during his later stages of Dementia. Yes, he buried the sheets of GOLD that were rolled up and put together with paperclips. I know I will get comments like it is gold leaf. but it is 100% NOT GOLD LEAF; it is heavy and in sheets as stated. He used this gold to make chips.

The original story was that her father had made a small GOLD BAR out of the gold, but when I found it, I knew I had found what he had buried and what she was hoping I would find. It took me about an hour and a half to get the signal of this lost treasure! The backyard was full of leaves, rocks, trees and it wasn’t an easy target to find, luckily there wasn’t much other metal items in the natural area behind the house. That alone made it easier to locate the GOLD! The estimated total GOLD weight of what I think is 24K gold is about 15g to 20g.

LOST SENTIMENTAL WEDDING RING in CHARLOTTE, NC……. FOUND!!

  • from Jacksonville (North Carolina, United States)

“BREAK OUT THE TISSUES FOR THIS ONE!”

Got a call Saturday, from the ring finders page, while up in WV. A newly wed, down in Charolette, NC had lost his wedding ring while aerating his lawn and putting down straw in his backyard. It had been missing since Wednesday of last week. We agreed that after I got off work at 2 on Monday, I would drive down to attempt to find it.

2:00 pm today, I jump in the truck and start the 2.5 hour trip. I get there just before 5 PM and start right away.

30 mins later I get a good on top, but under the straw hit! I look down and I can see GOLD!!!

The story gets better or a little more “tug at your heart strings” sentimental. You might be asking yourself, “WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE MORE SENTIMENTAL THAN A WEDDING RING?” How about his dad’s wedding ring that was passed down by his mom to use for his wedding after he passed away about 2 yrs ago.

Man I love to help find and reunite lost items for folks!!! I love the drive, hunt, finding them, then seeing that smile on their face again! Only to find out more to the story many times, just like this one!!

Amanda dropped her iPhone in the sand while at the Barefoot Country Music Fest this past weekend in Wildwood, New Jersey. I met Amanda on the beach today to look for her phone that also has a card holder attached to the back with her ID and credit card inside. After approximately 30 minutes of searching, the phone and cards were found! Even though the phone was damaged, the SIM card and other cards are intact and safely back in her possession.

Lost 14k white gold heirloom ring returned! TRF Celina, Ohio

  • from Celina (Ohio, United States)

Andrew’s mother was very happy to receive this lost 14k white gold heirloom ring on behalf of her son who was beside himself when he lost it.

Andrew’s mother (Ann) contacted me recently in the hopes that a lost 14k white gold heirloom ring could be found. Andrew had lost the ring during an outside gym class session on some practice fields that amounted to the area of about 1-1/2 football fields.

That’s a lot of area to cover when you’re looking for an item about the size of a nickel. Obviously, an area like this is easier to cover and able to be covered very methodically if you can get a couple of people working a grid pattern. I contacted a friend (Travis) and we headed out to try and locate the ring. After about 4-1/2 hours of searching with no ring to show and a storm blowing in we made plans to come back another day to finish covering the area in hopes of being able to reunite the owner with their lost ring.

Andrew was very close with his grandmother and the ring had been passed down to him when his grandmother passed away in December. He wore the ring on his pinky finger to feel close to his grandmother. We knew he was very sad to have lost the ring and that it was such a sentimental item that we were trying to do everything we could to cover the area and locate his missing ring.

We made a return trip to finish covering the area and hopefully recover his missing ring for him. After a little over an hour of searching, we (Travis and I) were able to locate the ring!

We messaged Andrew right away! Unfortunately, Andrew was out of town and was unable to be there for a photo and to take possession of his ring. He did however call his mother, who was more than happy to come down and accept the ring on his behalf! Knowing that there had been more than two dozen people walking around trying to locate the item prior to us searching, and numerous sports practice sessions, Andrew’s mother thought that it was a miracle that we were even able to locate his ring. She had warned him that wearing his grandmother’s ring could result in it being lost, as was the case, but it has now been located and returned to it’s rightful owner! It has been put up so that this sentimental family heirloom will not be lost again. A needle in a haystack really can be found! Another ring returned, another successful search thanks to teamwork, and another happy ending! We were very glad to see the ring turn up and to see it returned!

On a side note Andrew was very glad to have found TheRingFinders service online and says he would recommend the service to anyone!

Found Ring Returned: Hyannis, MA

  • from Cape Cod (Massachusetts, United States)

October 4, 2022

Hurricane Ian had been making its way northward keeping the Hyannis sky dark and misty. But a daily walk through the woods Avery and Bigelow made their way peacefully until an exposed root tripped up Avery. In the incident a ring left Avery’s finger an landed in the overgrowth along the pathway. The ring was Avery’s mother’s and is only one of very few pieces of jewelry that Avery wears.

Looking for help via a rental business that rented a detector. A call to J&E Enterprise was answered and Avery was given a phone number and was told Rick is the one that could help. Unfortunately, I was at a doctor’s appointment and did not return the call for a couple of hours. In that time Avery had rented a detector and was back in the woods searching for the lost ring. Rentals usually do not come with detailed operation notes. Most detectors take several hours of practice before one can become proficient in its use. Even locating an object on the surface can be a daunting task.

When I returned the call, Avery was in the woods and said she would welcome any help I may give. About a half hour later I was involved in the search. The area was littered with very old and rusty cans, and other debris. Many trash signals and not one that was worth digging or keeping. After two hours we left the woods as the sun had set, it was time to give up for the evening.

The next morning, I replace my mid-sized detector coil with a small 4-inch coil that would allow better separation of the pieces of trash. Another hour past and I was re-searching over the original area Avery had heard a signal the night before. I was able to determine several distinct targets, all were too deep to be the ring but might be masking a small ring. Therefore, I started to remove each target one by one and had a total of 4 shotgun cases and a long rifle casing. But no ring. As another aid, I tossed a similar ring with a visible string attached to see just how far a ring might travel and then restarted searching from that point.

Oddly enough, I was very close to the area the four shotgun shells were dug. Ah, another signal this time about two inches away, with a detector indicating a surface target. I reached down, moved a few leaves and there the ring was laying, but not for long. I picked it up, turned off the detector and headed back to the car before the rain intensified. A call to Avery and we made a meeting point. Twenty minutes later her ring had been placed on the pinkie finger and there was a wonderful smile on Avery’s face, not to say the one on my face was any less wonderful.

It is always amazing how an object is lost and in the case of a lost ring in the woods that a person can travel miles, search a vast area full of trash, put a 4-inch coil over a 1-inch ring, hear a signal among all others, then make a conscious decision to stop detecting and do a visual search to ultimately find the ring. Knowing one’s equipment, persistence and determination and yes, luck all helped in making the loss into A Happy Ending.

Family Gold Heirlooms Recovered from House Fire in New Jersey by Ring Finders South Jersey

In need of something recovered?

Don’t wait to call!

215-850-0188

I received a call back in May about several sentimental and valuable items lost in a house fire in New Jersey. After several phone calls and a long wait for permits to enter the home site, we were finally able to search for the lost family heirlooms this weekend.

The fire had taken the home down to the foundation which made the recovery search very difficult. The effort continued over the course of a few days. I was able to recover the gold family heirlooms from the sad and tragic loss.
