Thursday 7-09-15

Troy called me in the late afternoon. He wanted to know if a metal detector would be able to find a tungsten carbide ring. My answer was yes, then I asked him if he planned on renting or buying a metal detector? I explained to him if he hasn’t operated a metal detector, there are many factors to overcome to have a successful search. Parks and yards can have a metallic trash and/ or electrical interference, especially bothersome with the more inexpensive metal detectors. I told him I could help him find his ring and made him a offer he could not refuse. When I arrived Troy showed me an area where he thought it had fallen out of his pocket. He had spent several hours searching on his hands and knees. He also raked the area hoping to pull it up. It was a small area with thick deep grass. Starting my grid during the first five feet, I received quite a few false signals mixed with deeper good metallic signals. My detector does give me approximate depth reading and a number that gives me a general idea of the type of metal it has detected. After a few minutes Troy approached me to tell me that the ring was actually thrown not dropped. I thanked him, assuring him that this happens more than he would ever believe. It did change my search plan, because the ring could have hit a tree or sidewalk bouncing in a odd direction. I spent about 20 minutes searching outside the area he thought it might be hiding. My next plan was to change my search coil to a 6″ instead of my 11″ coil. Then retrace my search area where there was more trash and electrical interference. Before I made the change, I did a couple quick swings over that spot. Mixed in with several signals I could see a 12-29 reading at 2″ deep. It just flashed on my detector screen for a second. When I put my pinpointer into the grass I got a good signal, but I had to strain my eyes to see the black/gray ring deep in the grass. Troy’s wife was near, so I called her over show her how well it was hidden. Troy was surprised and told me that he had not believed that I could find it with a metal detector. Another successful day for TheRingFinders.

Diamond Earring Found on the 8th Floor Jasper Ave, Edmonton Alberta

I received a call from Charlotte as her diamond earring had fallen in the thick shag carpet of her apartment. Charlotte had spent several hours looking between the fibers of the carpet and had no luck. The earring had been given to her by her late father and therefore had much sentimental value, and so it was very important for her to find it.

I met her this morning, and explained to her that due to interference from wires, nails, and screws, the earring would be very hard to detect. I used my pro-pointer but could not detect it. I then got down on my hands and knees to see if I could feel it, but had no luck. Finely with Charlotte’s help, we managed to pick up the carpet, turn it over and shake it. I saw the earring land on the floor.

Another very happy client! Thank you, Charlotte for entrusting me and The Ring Finders to find your diamond earring.

Metal Detector Rental North Myrtle Beach SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

Why rent a metal detector when you can hire a Metal Detecting Specialist who has the experience, knowledge, and equipment to find your precious treasure!

Typically, rented metal detectors found in and around beach areas are inexpensive machines that will not work in water and/or wet sand (because of the mineralization in the sand). The machines are sketchy at best in the dry sand because of the quality of the detector. There are occasions when someone may find their item in dry sand areas but the majority of people will waste their time, effort, and money especially if they’ve never worked with a metal detector before. It also depends on the tides. You may have lost your item during low tide and when you realize it is gone it is now high tide. Most Metal Detecting Specialists have metal detectors just for this purpose; their machines work in water, up to waist deep or more, to aid in the recovery of your lost treasure. Instead of wasting your time, money, and vacation looking for your item you can call a specialist to do it for you.

Contact a metal detecting specialist through TheRingFinders.com directory.

Click here to read my stories.

Search areas include but are not limited to North Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, Beach, Ocean (up to 5 ft deep), Parks, Yards and Athletic fields. Prior permission will be necessary on all private property and may be required in State Parks and Athletic fields.

I work on a « Reward Basis » meaning you pay what you can afford and feel it’s worth for me to find your item. If the item cannot be found there will be a $25.00 call out fee to cover gas. Veterans, Police and Fire crews are exempt from a call out fee.

10% of all reward money I receive will be donated to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in your name.

Call as soon as possible after the loss.

Over the years I have invested in Many Metal detectors But I recently decided to purchase the first detector I ever owned wich I broke along time ago,The Garrett Gold Stinger. When I received this in the mail I went straight to the beach to Re-learn & Test this machine in excitement ..I was only swinging this antique machine for maybe 5-10 minutes when I got a strong Gold Target and took 2 scoops in the sand then out comes a Class Ring:) Cool! It’s alive and working like I remember:)

Fortunately for the owner this is a rare find to have a Full Name inscribed in the ring,so I then called John Hughes also a member of TheRingfinders and he was able to locate her on Facebook leaving a message « We found a ring and it maybe yours!?

Days go by and she finally called us saying she’s lives in Utah, but was on vacation in Carlsbad California recently and was not sure that we had her ring??Hours go by as she was unpacking from the trip she couldn’t find it….Then she Text us later  « oh my God,That is my Ring I didn’t even know I had lost it! »  Thank you, thank you.

The next morning I drove to the post office, mailed it Back to Utah and She was Re-united with her Lost Class Ring.

I received a call from Laura yesterday asking if I could help her to locate her husband’s wedding ring that she had accidently lost on Saturday morning either in her home or yard.

I met Laura at her home and she told me that on Saturday she was in the laundry room and her husband’s ring was lying on the counter. She picked up the ring and put it in her pocket and went about doing her house work, gardening chores, and shopping errands. It was not until later that afternoon that she realized the ring was missing from her pocket. She showed me shorts similar to the ones she had been wearing. The pockets were too deep for the ring to have fallen out of.

I checked her back yard, around the flower beds, her rock pond, the front yard, her truck, and garbage bags that she had put out for recycling. Two hours of searching and no luck. There was a kitchen garbage bag still in the house that I had not checked. Laura emptied the bag while I went back to recheck the pond. I heard her scream “I found it”. She was very excited and I was glad for her.

Laura asked me if I was an ex-police officer. When I asked her why, she replied that I was always questioning her with possible scenarios regarding the ring. I replied that I asked all these questions to try and trigger your memory, and to give me clues as to where the ring might be.

Laura then realized that she had cleaned up the kitchen and maybe she put the ring down on the counter top and without thinking wiped the top off and that was probably when the ring had fallen into the garbage container.

Another Happy Client! Thank you, Laura and Chris, for entrusting me and The Ring Finders to help you find your lost ring.

July 13th  10:00 p.m

I was out Searching For a long lost class ring in Oceanside when My phone blows up From John Hughes and a couple who Lost a Men’s Platinum Ring in the sand.I emediatley Responded.First thing In the morning I met Ted the owner who knew the rough area he had lost it and he saidimage image

This is his 2nd time losing it,the first time he lost it in Newport Beach out in the ocean and a metal detector By the name of Stan Ross from TheRingfinders.com found it nearly a week later! I told him he was a lucky guy to to meet a Legend like Stan.

This looked like a very easy search,In the dry sand, 35’x15′ foot area away from the water and crowds but One major concern I had to explain before I began my search…This beach I know well and often see many local Hobbie detectorist at night/midnight/am and because This ring was lost 3 days ago who knows if it is still in the sand?

So I began searching Using my Garrett V.L.F detector for nearly 15 minutes I have not even heard one piece of metal, trash, coin WOW this beach Has been cleaned. So I move further towards the trail and get my first signal a

(Solid scratchy Foil sound) wich I like to hear and I always dig trashy pull tab -aluminum sounds.. Why? …I take 1 scoop and There’s teds Platinum ring :).

Meanwhile Ted was enjoying the scenic view taking pictures of the Ocean and the nice sunny morning when I walked up with his ring…  We both smile and laughed I Told him He got lucky again !

Man’s 10K Gold Wedding Band Lost in the Ocean – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I received an e-mail through my Ring Finders address at about 9:30 pm from Chad here on vacation from WV. His e-mail said he had lost his wedding ring 4 days earlier during high tide while swimming in the ocean. He went on to tell me that the ring was very sentimental because it belonged to his grandfather and that it was a gold wedding band with approx. 5 small diamonds going across » the top evenly spaced. He also thought it was 10K but wasn’t 100% sure. He requested that if I find it or know of anyone who might find it to please call him. He also said there was a gentlemen on the beach metal detecting at the time he lost it and he also requested from him that if he finds it to please call him.

I responded back to Chad advising him that I’d be willing to help ,him and even though it was getting late I could be there within 15 minutes and catch the outgoing tide. In a follow up e-mail he stated he’d like to have me look for it so away I went. He and his family were out enjoying the sites of Myrtle Beach so I got there before he did and started searching where I thought he had described. Needless to say I was off about 25-50 yards. It wasn’t too long before he showed up and got me on track. As we were walking towards the new search area I asked him where he was from and when he told me WV I told him that just the night before I had found a young lady’s ring who was also from WV. Ironically she was his sister in law.

I started searching the low tide line working my way back towards the beach. It was late so Chad went back to his room. I worked my grid for about an hour and a half finding all the typical beach junk and finally got a good signal. The ring was deeper than I thought it would be but none the less it was the ring. I called him and just told him to meet me outside, I think he thought I was finished for the night. He met me and I held the ring out and he was shocked that I found it. Another very happy ending!!!!

Thank you Chad for the gracious reward.

I received the following e-mail from Jaime Plymale:

Author: Jaime Plymale (Chad’s wife)

Wedding Ring recovered on Indian Rocks Beach, Florida

Brian was at the beach with family checking out the sea life and the small shells burrowing in the sand.   They all decided to head back to the blanket and  Brian went in the ocean to wash the sand off his hands.  When he got to the blanket he realize his ring was missing. He placed an ad on craigslist where ring finder member Howard Metts saw it and alerted Stan Flack because it was near his home.  A call went out for ring finders. Five volunteers showed to look for Brian’s ring. After about 40 minutes of hunting Stan came up with the ring. Unbelief and happiness could be seen on Brian’s face. Nice work by all!!

Engagement and Wedding Ring Lost in the Sand – FOUND in North Myrtle Beach, SC

  • from North Myrtle Beach (South Carolina, United States)

I got a call from Holli asking if I could help her friend Kandi find her lost engagement and wedding ring that had been lost in the sand when the wind blew the bag over that the rings were in.

I was able to get to the beach in about an hour but there was a very heavy thunderstorm going through the area that delayed me in starting the search because of all the lightening associated with the storm. In the meantime, Kandi told me that her and her husband Bill had rented a  metal detector and attempted to find the rings themselves. I explained that the metal detectors that can be rented are inexpensive detectors that will not work in water or wet sand (because of the mineralization) and sketchy at best in dry sand. I also told them that if you’re unfamiliar with a metal detector you might get lucky and find your item but more likely than not you’re wasting your time and money.

After giving me a full description of the rings, Kandi showed me the area she thought the ring would be in and I started my grid. After about 40 minutes I had to expand my search out a little and within a couple of minutes I got a strong signal.  I took a small scoop of sand, shook it out and there was this beautiful ring  that matched exactly as the one Kandi described. I glanced over at Kandi, who with Bill, Holli and her husband had been watching me as I was doing the search. I gave Kandi a wink, a little smile and nod for her to come over. Not knowing what I was up to she sheepishly made her way over to me. I held the scoop out so she could look in it and BOOM, she saw her ring, reached in and grabbed it and gave me a huge hug and her tears started flowing. The other 4 of us were totally caught up in the moment.

I love doing this for people and there’s little else that can give you the same feeling of accomplishment.

Bill and Kandi, thank you so much for the very generous reward.

Thank you for reading my Blog.

Lost Wedding Ring « Found » in Katy, Texas

The Ring Finders Houston, Texas

I was contacted by Jon and Kerry today regarding Kerry’s Lost Engagement Ring-part of her Wedding Ring in Katy, Texas. Jon said they had been out walking when Kerry motioned with her hand and her ring went flying. John said the ring had landed in the grass near some businesses where they had been walking . Jon said Kerry searched the internet for help and came across « The Ring Finders » and placed the call. The search was successful and Kerry was re-united with her missing Wedding-Engagement Ring today.

Great day in Texas…..
