Gold Wedding Ring found at Bolsa Chica State Beach

I received a call around 7:15 tonight from Daniele that he lost his ring at the beach. It would be dark in about an hour so I hurried to meet him there. He had a good idea of where he had lost it. He had taken his ring off his ring finger and placed it on his pinky finger while at his car. He was carrying a bag as he walked to the sand when the ring slipped off. Daniele was searching for the ring when someone at the next fire pit over recommended he call The Ring Finders. After a 45 minute grid search I was able to find his ring. During the search I also found a 14k gold earring.

Lost Wedding Found – Minnesota Ring Finders

  • from Twin Cities Metro (Minnesota, United States)

Heather had lost her wedding ring while at a day camp near the St. Criox river. She works with children who are dealing with epilepsy. While watching the kids play a game, she removed her wedding ring to apply suntan lotion. That’s the last time she can remember having her ring. She was telling a friend about her situation, luckily her friend had heard of the ring finders web site from a post on face-book. Heather brought up « theringfinders » and called me for help. I met her at the camp site and we discussed a plan of action for the search. It only took about 2 minutes and the ring was back on her finger 🙂 – So glad I could help you out Heather, and thank you for your work with the kids!

Diamond Wedding Ring Lost .. Emerald Bay, Laguna Beach, CA. .. Recovered from Sand

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Kevin called me last night to inquire about my metal detecting service after finding me on TheRingFinders website.
His daughter was at the Emerald Bay in Laguna Beach, CA. searching for her wedding ring as we spoke. He said he would call in the morning if she didn’t find it. I was ready to leave right now because I knew she was waisting her time.
I did get the call the next morning setting up a place to meet. The location was five miles from my home, nice for me. Kevin told me that his daughter thought she removed the ring from her finger to apply sunscreen to her husband. ( #1 cause of rings lost on beaches .. IMO )
It was an easy search because Kevin was able to get me to the exact location and there was a ring to be found. Kevin stayed about 30 yards away to give me space to do my thing. He said he saw me hesitate for a second before scooping up the ring. He was so excited to take a picture of the ring sending it to his daughter right away.
I didn’t know till after the find that they were not sure that this was where she lost the ring. They only believed it was possibly there after checking photos taken during the day.

Two Silver Rings Lost in Sand .. Newport Beach, CA. .. Found

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

Late in the afternoon Zach called, his girlfriend had lost two silver rings in the sand. She did the sunscreen trick. Take the rings off to put them on the towel while applying sunscreen. Then forgetting to put them on. I believe that there is something in sunscreen that makes people forget to pick up their rings. This is probably the number one ring loss story on our beaches.

I asked where he was and if he could meet me there at lifeguard tower 32 in Newport Beach. No use talking on the phone when I could be there in 15 minutes. We met where he had the area well marked. A few swings with my XP Deus and both rings showed up in my sand scoop. Zach said he waisted a couple hours trying to be the hero that found the rings. He was the guy that found TheRingFinders website and called me. Took a few photos then headed home to surprise Paige by returning her rings.

These short searches are nice, especially after having two other searches this week that were more than five hours each without success. We can’t find them if they aren’t there. It kind of averages out. I like to call it like winning the lottery. Our odds of finding a lost ring are better than the lottery but you have to try. Plus sometimes you can help by eliminating an area so the person can search other locations.

Recovered small key saves church big funds, Big Island, Hawaii

THE LITTLE THINGS CAN BE VERY IMPORTANT TOO

We got a desperate call from a woman whose church group had helped organize a concert here on the Big Island – and one of the church’s parishioners had lent his car to the concert’s head performer.
The performer had a few hours to kill before his first concert so went to one of our local beaches. As he went back to get ready for his first performance, he suddenly realized his key – and the only key to the car – had been lost in the sand.
He looked for the lost key and finally had to ask to be picked up or miss the concert!
Some of the church members went to the beach the next morning to search for the key with rakes, carefully combing the sand in the area the musician had been.
After three hours they looked online and we got the call – and went immediately to the beach to join them in the hunt.
The site where the key was lost was quite small and had been scoured with rake marks. I searched the area for about 15 minutes with my Excalibur II metal detector, finding wire, fishing weights – and then hit a big target in the sand.
The car key materialized in my scoop as the sand strained out of it.
A key is such a small thing, but finding it saved the congregation from having to hire a tow truck to come to this remote spot and re-key the ignition.
We were happy to help – and remembered that sometimes the most valuable things are often what seem of least value – until they’re not!

Engagement Ring Dropped in Sand while Proposing .. Hermosa Beach, CA. .. Found and Returned

  • from Newport Beach (California, United States)

I got a late call from Damir asking me for help. He had just proposed to his fiancé, Ellie on the sand in Hermosa Beach. In the excitement of the moment Ellie dropped the diamond engagement ring in the sand.
Dry sand is unforgiving and will hide a ring from searching fingers forever. I did not waste time discussing anymore on the phone. Just asked them to text me the address and I’d be there within 45 minutes. I also told them not to worry. If they can get me on the general spot, we could find the ring.

When I arrived at 14th Street in Hermosa Beach I could see a police car on the beach with Damir and Ellie standing there in the cold breezy night air. I introduced my self, looked at the 20 x 20′ area. I decided to start the grid diagonally, just because? Straight line to the opposite corner, BAM! Diamond Engagement ring in the scoop. Everybody was amazed, the police officer had a look that I’ll never forget. Similar to the look people give when somebody does a magic trick. It was cold so we all took a few quick photos and headed home. It was almost midnight and everyone concerned will sleep good this night.

Gold chain and pendant RECOVERED!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)

Received a call last night for a lost gold chain. It was obvious that this piece had extreme sentimental value attached to it. Met with the client first thing this morning and headed onto the beach where he had been setup the previous day. After about 15 minutes and about 3 passes I picked up the signal I was looking for. Client was very happy and I was very happy to be able to reunite him with his missing chain.

Clients review of service: « Padraic Aversa I’d like to thank you again Jeff for coming out again this morning after working overnight. The outcome had me speechless and extremely grateful »

Gold wedding and engagement rings RECOVERED!

  • from Cape May (New Jersey, United States)

Received a call this past Thurdsay morning for a lost wedding ring set. The rings were dropped sometime Wednesday and after the owner and her family searched yesterday they came up empty handed. So took the ride over this morning and met up with the owner and after about an hour or so searching out popped two gold beauties!

Clients review of service: « Amy Bullock Jones-I highly recommend giving Jeff a call if you are ever in the unfortunate situation of losing a ring(s) or other valuable item on the beach! I lost both of my rings (wedding band and engagement ring) yesterday after taking them off to apply sunscreen….after which I got distracted with five 13 year old girls. I didn’t even realize until later that night that they were missing. After searching every possible bag and beach chair pocket I was certain they were on the beach. The next morning I found Jeff through an internet search thinking I should at least give it a try. Jeff showed up within 1/2 hour of my phone call and went above and beyond to search the entire area I pointed out I thought we were around, and the area we exited the beach. I was absolutely amazed he found them both!! Thank you so much to Jeff for his quick response, extra effort to make sure he covered all areas, and a great result!! Thank you! »
