Lost Palladium Wedding Band at Ko Olina Lagoons….FOUND!!!

Early evening and as I was searching for a long lost Diamond Engagement ring in the water I was approached by Jared from Denver, Colorado. Jared explained that when he was throwing a football with friends in the water earlier in the day his wedding band came off. He wasn’t exactly sure where but knew the general area. From waist to chest deep water and in the far southern end of the lagoon. My only fear was it might have been tossed into the deeper area and there I would require scuba. Never know how far they can fly!!! Jared said it was a square shaped palladium ring. I’ve never found a palladium ring so I was interested in hearing that metal’s tone. I told Jared to reach me on my Facebook page « Metal Detecting Oahu » and we could correspond there. Darkness was quickly upon us so I decided to continue the search the next day after work. I arrived back on the spot the next day and as I worked my grid South I found a small coin spill and two pull tabs. After about an hour I had a solid tone I’ve never heard before and after one scoop there was Jared’s ring. No doubt square and inscribed Pd 950. When I arrived home Jared had left an inquiry on my Facebook page as to whether or not I found his ring. I responded that I did and we made arrangement for its return. Another smile and vacation in Hawaii ends on an up note! Aloha to Jared.

Silver Lake Fenton, Michigan sunken ring found

On Monday August 10th Christy B. emailed me saying her husband Dave B. lost his wedding band while climbing the ladder on their water trampoline. She stated that the area was about 8-9 feet deep with a mucky bottom. Dave tried to find the ring with goggles but to no avail. The ring is a simple gold band with more sentimental value than actual value but would like to get it back.

Because it was going to require a dive I had to recruit my number one diver on the Ring Finders team, Chuck Raison. I called Christy and told her I would get my team together and come to help them out. A couple of days later Dave Boyer, Chuck and myself headed out for 150 miles to find the ring.

When we have a dive, the other non-divers searche the area leading out to the site in the shallows for a chance that the item might have been lost closer in or moved in the water. We also take advantage during the dive while the diver is down by cleaning any junk out of the water in the swimming area. It is amazing the glass, nails, cans, pull tabs and other trash you find in the lakes and rivers.

The first trip out the ring was not found. Chuck searched all around the area but the weeds and 6 inches of silt proved too much to find the ring. We talked to Christy and said we can come back after Labor Day and try again, so we all agreed to try again. Monday Sept 28 Christy made contact with me and I said we will be out on Wed Sept 30. It was just Chuck and myself this time and we packed up the Hookah and drove off to Fenton. The wind was blowing hard and the inland lake even had small whitecap waves. While Chuck did his thing I checked out the swimming area and found some more glass and junk but the more important find after about 30 minutes, was Chuck coming up to shore with a ring on his finger. He had found the ring with his Garrett underwater Pin Pointer. The ring was down in 6 inches of silt nestled next to the anchor bucket for the trampoline.

Christy’s husband Dave was out of town so we gave the ring to Christy and got our smile for the Book and we will get another pic when Dave comes home.

Metal Detecting For A Lost Silver Pendent At UBC /University…Found

Got a call in the middle of last week from a young lady by the name of Bianca who lost her silver pendent that was a gift from her sister. This young lady was also a member of the women’s rugby team at UBC where just the other week I had help another member find her lost silver pendent.

We arranged to meet this Sunday and when I met Bianca she was able to put me in a small area where she knew the pennant fell into the grass. I set up my grid and in less then 2 minutes using my Whites Surfmaster PI pro I had found the silver pendent.

The pendent was a gift from her sister who gave it to her 2 years ago and Bianca never took it off…It was very special and when I found it she was very very happy! I never get tired of seeing peoples reactions to the discoveries of their lost items! I truly have the greatest job in the world! I get to make people Smile…

Ring Lost at South Mission Beach, Found and Returned

Greg was camped in the dry sand close to a volleyball court at South Mission Beach. He planned on joining the fun on the court, so, he dutifully removed his watch and wedding ring and put them in a zippered pouch before heading into the game. Game’s over, he packs up and heads to the car. Goes into the pouch to retrieve his watch and ring, only to find a slight opening in the zipper. The watch was there, but, the ring was missing. I get the call, get some details, and arrange to meet him the next morning so he can show me the exact area where they had been.

It had been super hot and humid all week, and I’d planned on going out in the evening to do some detecting anyway, so, I figured South Mission was as good a place to hunt as any, and I might even stumble across his ring. So off I go to cool down and try to get lucky in the treasure department. I start in and around the volleyball court in question and am not finding a single target. Oh, Oh, not a good sign. somebody has probably already been there ahead of me. I continue to fan out and search the outer areas away from the court and start to find a few coins. An hour or so later, bingo, I get lucky and find a ring. It was described to me as a tungsten carbide with a gold inlay. I texted and called Greg to get a more complete description, as this ring was titanium. Except for the type of metal, he described it to a T, so, it had to be the one. It was interesting to find out that they had been married exactly 2 years to the day! I found it on their anniversary and the date was inscribed inside the band! Now that’s a ring that wants to be found! A pleasure to meet you Greg, and thank you for the reward.

Lost Gold Wedding Band at Punaluu Beach…..FOUND!!!

I got a call from Andrew at Punaluu Beach Park at around 5PM. Great rush hour traffic! Andrew explained to me that he and his wife Meghan were laying in about 2 feet of water and when he stood up his wedding band slipped off into the water. He felt it drop off and immediately reached into the water and sand to retrieve his ring but as usual the sand consumed it. Meghan and Andrew looked for a while but never saw a hint of the ring. So 34 miles and about an hour away. I had my daughter check the traffic APP and the roads were clear. I loaded up and called Andrew and told him I’d get there as soon as I could. He said they would wait at the beach in their rental car. The scenic ride up along the East coast of Oahu is spectacular. Several bays, the Koolau mountains and China-man’s Hat Island make the drive breathtaking. I was there in no time. Andrew took me down to the beach to show me where in the water he was when the ring fell off. He was very sure of the location so I started a circular search with him as the pivot point. There was a lot of deep trash and under the sand was very chunky coral rocks. After about five trash targets and seeing how the waves were crashing on the beach with a fairly solid bottom I decided to move shore-ward to the wave curl. I thought with the hard bottom the ring probably tumbled up to that point. As I went along the wave curl I saw a Portuguese Man-O-War floating between Andrew and myself. I warned him to watch out and let me know if any more come into our area. The bubble and deep purple streamer isn’t hard to miss. My first target had that familiar sound and one scoop there was Andrew’s ring. Elapsed time 7 minutes. Andrew and Meghan were both surprised and grateful. From Austin, Texas and Married just 4 days with the lost ring back on his finger there were « Smiles » all around. Aloha to Andrew & Meghan.

Lost Gold Ring In 40′ Motorhome-Found! Calmar Alberta Canada

I received an email from Kim regarding a white gold ring that she had lost in her motor home two years ago. I explained that it may be difficult task because of all the metal in the motor home but I agreed to go over and do my best.

Apparently Kim had placed two rings on the night table before going to bed, and the following morning one ring was missing. Kim and her husband Brent searched throughout the motor home several times and came to the conclusion that perhaps the ring had been taken.

We headed out to the storage yard where the motor home was parked and I asked Brent to pull the slides out so I could analyze the situation. I visualized where the ring could be and went to work taking everything out of the storage area under the bed, and also checking the mattress with my pro pointer. I then went outside and removed the bottom seal from around the slide just in case the ring had lodged itself between the seal and the frame of the motor home. This was not the case so I looked on the other side but could not see or feel anything. My feeling was that the ring had to be under the slide but Brent said he had pulled out the slide about 20 times since the ring had been lost.

I again laid down on the floor with my flashlight and noticed a silver object which I thought was the ring but turned out to be an American nickel. As I moved along the floor with the flashlight I notice something sparkling between the slide roller and the carpet. I reach in with a knife and said out loud “YES, found it!” Brent could not believe it.

We went back to see Kim and I asked if this was her ring. I think everyone in the neighborhood heard her scream with excitement.

Lost Wedding Ring Found Minnesota

Eric was out on an afternoon pheasant hunt with his friends and trusty dog. After taking down a rooster and his dog retrieving the bird for him – Eric’s hands were wet and full of feathers. He recently lost 60 pounds and his wedding ring was already loose on his finger. When he decided to shake his hands free of the feathers, he also shook off his ring. He and his friends searched to no avail. They decided to rent a metal detector and come back for another search. The search yielded a bunch of spent shotgun shells but no ring. While doing an internet search for metal detectors, Eric came across « THE RING FINDERS.com » and made note of it. He contacted me after all his attempts at locating the ring didn’t pan out – We met down at the hunt club and walked to the area he marked. I think it took less than 2 minutes of searching and Eric’s wedding band was back where it belongs. Congrats Eric and it was truly nice to meet you, prayers for a long happy marriage.

Lost Wedding Ring found and returned years later

Hi,
My name is Susan and I saw the ad where you’ve found several rings from elk lake. I’m hoping my husband’s was among them.
A couple of years ago, he lost his original wedding band in elk lake while we were swimming. It would have been around the Hamsterly beach area.

The ring itself is really nothing special to look at…it’s just a large (like men’s size 12-14) round silver band with a bit of a round the overall shape (if that makes any sense). Although it’s not very expensive or anything special to look at, it holds HUGE sentimental value to him. It was the original ring we were supposed to marry with 16 years ago…then we parted ways for a while; however, we got back together and have now been married for 12 happy years.

I know it’s a long shot but I’m hoping this is one of the rings you’ve come across. I would love to surprise him with it.

Lost Engagement & Wedding Ring Found in Haddon Twp NJ by Dave Milsted

I received a call earlier in the week from Rob, asking if I was the guy who finds lost rings. I told him that I was and asked how I could help. He said that there are 2 missing rings in front of his residence in the flower bed.

He was out of town on business until the weekend, so we planned to meet up on Saturday morning. I assumed that they lost them while planting the flowers. So it should be an easy find.

I arrived and met Rob. I asked him to show me where he thought that they were. I asked him how long ago that the flowers were planted and about how deep were the holes when they planted them.

He said they were lost about a week ago during an argument and were thrown there. Well there ya go you know what happens when you assume. They spent a couple of hours looking for them with flashlights.

I asked where she was standing when she threw them. He said that he threw them. There ya go another assumption! He showed me the direction. I went back to my truck to get my equipment.

I had to fight the sounds from the sprinkler system in the ground. After about 20 minutes I got a good repeatable signal. Looked through the flowers and found the wedding band. Rob was amazed.

We were now looking for the engagement ring. I continued with my machine and Rob then jumped into the flower bed and started hand searching the bushes. He said that he thought one went farther then the other and that one made it to the bushes.

After about 10 more minutes I hear Rob Shout, « I got it!! » And there it was. A few high fives were thrown. He stated you saved my life!

I took a few pictures and gave him my business card just in-case there was a need in the future. He was a happy man… My wife said after I got home was « I knew it! I knew they were thrown! »

I have responded to so many lost rings because they were thrown in the heat of the moment. Call me 1st, I’ll take the ring off of your hands and save the time for a search later…

Lost Tungsten Ring found in North Toledo Ohio

Have Your Cake and Throw It Too!

Got a call from the friend of the groom to be. Just so happened that the bridal party was doing a photo shoot at a park and the cake started flying, and so did his tungsten ring. I didn’t know the material type of the ring until I met all of them at the park. The search area in question was 100′ x 100′ and the area was still marked off.
They had previously searched off and on this week but couldn’t locate the ring. After I searched for about 15 min a nice solid signal came thru (reading +52 on the MXT) and just under the top of the grass his attractive tungsten ring was revealed. My first tungsten ring. Very nice people that got very excited and emotional. I quickly put my gear in my vehicle as I was on the lookout for the cake.
