[May 27, 2019 – Naples, FL] While swimming [May 27, 2019 – Naples, FL] While swimming in the crystal clear water, Nora suddenly noticed that the gold “Love” ring gifted by her now deceased grandmother had suddenly come off her finger.  After about an hour and a half of searching without luck, someone suggested “call THE metal detector guy.”

Well, there being no coincidences, just appointments – what was once lost has been found!

Lost Diamond Rings in Naples, Florida Found & Returned by Metal Detector

[April 23, 2019 – Naples, Florida] Got a call from Brian’s wife who reported having lost two rings at the beach.  The rings she’s carefully guarded in her pocket were likely lost as she was tending her children and applying more sunscreen.  So, why hire a professional metal detector?  Well, several hours of searching, traffic, and sifting through the sand had only managed to broaden the search area and drive the rings deeper.  The wedding band was the first to be found.  It gave off a faint signal being buried in about 5-6 inches of sand and canted at a 45 decgree angle.  The diamond solitaire proved to be a bit more tricky.  It was found nearby, yielding only an occasional very very faint signal as it was 6-8 inches deep standing nearly straight up.  The rest is now history and another “story” added to a family’s memorable vacation in Naples, Florida.  What was once lost has been found – thank God!

Lost ring in Cape May, NJ FOUND!

Received a call for a gold / diamond wedding band that was flung off a beach towel into the sand. After speaking with the client and conducting a brief hunt, the ring was back in the clients possession. All smiles.

South Mission Beach ring recovery

Neiva decided to play some volleyball and soon discovered that her ring was hurting her finger, so, she removed it. After the game she tried to put the ring back on, but, found her finger had swelled a bit and wouldn’t allow that. The ring was then thought to have been placed in her bag, but, apparently it was left on the blanket. Later when getting ready to leave, Neiva picked up the blanket and gave it a shake to remove the sand. When she searched for her ring, it wasn’t in the bag, and obviously now, wasn’t on the blanket either. She and her friends searched with their fingers sifting through the sand, but, could find the ring. Neiva Googled for help, and my name came up. Being a sunny Sunday afternoon during the summer, I knew the beach traffic and parking was going to be a nightmare, but, headed into the fray anyway. Sure enough, traffic was backed up, and once I got to the beach, dozens of cars were circling the lots waiting for an opening. I finally found a spot and headed to the volleyball court to meet Neiva. She showed me the area where she had her blanket and bag, and I began my search. First target read a nice solid 10 on my Equinox, but, turned out to be part of a pull tab. Next signal was a solid 6 and was her ring. A happy Neiva could now join me in the traffic and head home. A pleasure meeting you and thank you for the reward.

Wedding Band Recovered in Spring Lake NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from Matt, seems he took off his wedding band and laid it on his towel to go swimming. His wife not knowing shook the towel out to get sand off of it and there goes the band. Told him id be there in about 15 minutes or so. He met me on the boardwalk and took me to where they were sitting. Turns out they had help digging around for it and even got a rake from the lifeguards to see if they could find it. I worked they area they dug up and had no luck. I widen my search and found his band about 5 to 6 feet off to the side. His smile says it all. Another great recovery and happy husband and wife.

Lost Tantalum Wedding Ring Recovered In Edmonds Washington!

With the great weather we can experience in the summer months, comes yard work! A large number of my ring searches take place in gardens, yards and yard waste bins! And it is definitely the season for lost rings!

Micheal emailed about his Tantalum (I had to google that metal, it was new to me!) ring he had lost in his beautiful front yard garden. He tried to find it to no avail, and needed my services to find it quick, or he was going to be in the « doghouse » with the wife! 🙂

I was able to come by this Saturday and was very glad I was able to find it quickly! It would have been a real difficult search without a detector, but just took moments with one. Lost Rose Gold Ring with Diamond Found in Romulus Michigan

The pictured lady was out on a stroll this evening and her ring came off. When I talked with her we agreed to meet and search the areas where she thought it came off. She remembers it hitting the pavement and thinking it rolled into the grass not far from her house. I searched the grass areas with the MXT from where she remembers it falling off to her house, prob 1/8 of a mile, no ring signal. Darkness was upon us and I told her I would return in the morning at sunrise. I drove off wondering if someone found it. As I got near the street corner approx. 1/4 mile from her house I saw something shining back at me as the headlights got closer. I thought it was a coin, after I stopped and approached the object it was the diamond in her 18k rose gold ring sparkling in my headlights! I couldn’t believe it! I called her and said how fast can you get to the end of the street and it seemed only a minute as she zoomed down the street and was reunited with her ring!

Lost ring found at Mission Bay

Lindsey was guilty of the most common cause of lost rings at the beach. She took her rose gold ring off to apply lotion, set the ring in her lab, and then forgot about it until sometime after she had stood up. After realizing what had happened, she and others looked through the sand hoping to recover it. After that failed to locate the ring, she called a local detector rental shop and tried her hand at finding it that way. After 3 hours and nothing but scrap metal, she returned the detector and was advised by them to contact TheRingFinders.com. She initially got a hold of  Curtis Cox in Carlsbad. He was out of town and referred her to me. My wife and I headed to the site and met Lindsey who explained the situation and showed us the search area, which was mainly a reasonably small sized section of dry sand overlooking Mission Bay. Lindsey had to leave for a while and left me to do my best. After covering the dry sand section in one direction parallel to the water and coming up empty, I started at the beginning again at 90 degrees from the first. My first pass went closer to the water than previous passes and over some wet sand, but, it was on the return of that pass that I got the sound I wanted still in the wet sand. After some cheers from other folks on the beach who knew about the lost ring, I texted Lindsey with the good news. I went and rinsed the ring of sand and let everyone oooh and aaah over it while waiting for Lindsey to return. Needless to say, Lindsey was very happy to get this family heirloom back on her finger. A pleasure to met you Lindsey and thank you for the reward.

Class ring lost nearly 60 years ago found by chance while diving found and returned to owners daughter

so for the past month my hobby hunts have been rather anti productive other than a few old silver coins which is some what depressing. I decided to go on a short road trip about an hour away from cape cod to an undisclosed location/pond I’ve never dove before, the water temp was 70 at the surface and 65 at approximately 8-10feet deep. Right off the bat I hit a brass signet ring that looked like gold but unfortunately was not (still a ring and a decent start) so I kept going after a couple hours my air was getting low so I made my way back to my vehicle to head back to the cape to do another dive in a pond I’ve done very well in in years past. While heading back in I got a solid mid tone on my minelab Excalibur II and started digging and fanning the muddy silt on the bottom, I reached my hand in the hole and grabbed a handful of muck but felt an unexpected target, it felt like a ring (it was a ring). It turned out to be a class ring from gate of heaven high School in South Boston class of 1960 with the initials WJW. So now we fast forward past the second dive back home where gold ring number two for the day was found which was much older than the class ring, I started the search for the owner but could not find any records of a person from the class with those initials. Feeling like I hit a dead end I turned to Facebook and found a group of alumni from the school which I managed to join and posted the find with a help find the owner please request, that was Sunday morning around 6am. By noon I had a text message from a woman who was named Christine wadel saying she believed it could be her fathers ring and that his name was William Joseph wadel, so rather than text back I called her and she sent me some pictures of her father as well as his HS diploma from the class of 1960. She agreed to make the trip to the cape on Tuesday 6/18 last night to get the ring so she could give it to her after this weekend who lives in Virginia when she goes to visit him. I got ahold of  WBZ 4 Boston and a reporter came to the cape to do an interview with us and to document the return. So now the ring is in christine’s Hands and will be headed to it’s right place on her fathers finger, this type of recovery/return has been on my bucket list for years and I finally managed to pull it off

Gold ring with diamonds found after loss at wedding-Big Indian, New York

Elena was married at a wedding venue in Big Indian, New York in the Catskill Mountains. She contacted me while on her honeymoon in Mexico. Her Grandmother had given her a 14 carat gold ring with a large center diamond surrounded by a ring of other diamonds.
Elena was wearing the ring during the ceremony and during picture taking afterwards. It wasn’t until afterwards that she realized she had lost the ring.
I searched for the ring in all of the areas of the wedding and picture taking afterwards. I finally located her ring after searching for over 3 hours. Elena was elated to get back her precious, sentimental ring. Another satisfying ring search!
