*** Omar had been walking his dog at Rosie’s Dog Beach in Long Beach, CA. He was in ankle beep water when his dog got excited as another dog got close to them. In the strugglers control his dog, his gold wedding ring came off his finger disappearing intel the surf.

Four days after the loss Omar came across my contact information on TheRingFinders website. He was unable to meet me at the location but his screen shot of the larva was clear enough for me the do a search. I was able to do a two hour grid of the beach the next morning. The ring didn’t show.

When I reviewed the screen shot photo, I realized I had searched the wrong location. This wasn’t the first time. It’s always preferable to have the person meet me at the location. Many times it’s not convenient for the person who lost the item to get free from other obligations.

When I returned to the correct area at the next morning’s low tide, I was able to find the ring after about a half hour into my grid search. I sent Omar a text with a photo of his ring. He met me an hour later so we could get the ring back where it belongs. He was amazed and promised to get the ring resized.

3 Lost White Gold and Diamond Rings Found In Toledo Ohio

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

Past, Present and Future….

……That’s what the 3 rings represent that Stephen bought for his wife. The first ring being the past as high school sweethearts, the present and future being the engagement and wedding ring, the latter placed upon her finger a year ago. An opportunity opened up last Sunday to be able to host a family gathering in an open grassy field behind their property. Everyone enjoyed themselves at this end of summer event with the typical games, food and drink along with reminiscing about the good times gone by. Later that night she noticed her rings missing. On site I started to grid search where she remembered walking. I was getting lots of iron signals on my MXT so I turned up the discriminator control to quiet things down. A few minutes went by and I got a good metal signal and checking with my hand held pinpointer revealed the sweetheart ring! I put a marker in the ground as Stephen was elated one was found. Continuing the grid pattern about 30 feet away revealed the engagement ring! Stephen raced over to scoop it up and I marked this spot as well. After that I decided to search back behind where the sweetheart ring was as this area showed more trampled grass than moving in the other direction. Roughly 15 feet from the sweetheart ring another good metal signal came thru the headphones. Probing into the grass revealed the wedding band! As Stephen lifted the ring from the grass and held all 3, he was excited to surprise her when she got home from work, and with the rings being found brought the hope of success in overcoming anything in their future.

Lost Rolex Watch with Diamonds in House Found with Dowsing Rod in Detroit Michigan

  • from Detroit (Michigan, United States)

The Perfect Pair!

When Latifa was putting summer clothes and shoes away between 2 different locations preparing for autumn apparel her Rolex watch went missing. On the phone I told her I wasn’t tied up and had lots of time on my hands. Describing the dowsing technique I told her most of the time it’s second to noon. On the way to her she said the watch had diamonds around the face. On site I inserted my diamond sample into the bait chamber of my dowsing rod. Entering one room I slowly swept the rod in a circle hoping it would lock onto the diamond watch but I got no attraction to it. As the seconds ticked by I entered the other room and repeating the dowsing procedure I got a weak lock of the rod towards a box of clothes and a wall of racked shoes roughly 8 to 10 feet from me. I asked if she had looked there and she said yes. I stepped aside a few feet and swept the rod again and it indicated the same general area. To kill some time Latifa searched thru the box again while I scanned the shoes with my Garrett carrot metal detector pinpointer. Some shoes had metal eyelets and whatnot so I had to take them off the rack to check them. Dowsing can by tricky sometimes and I started to wonder was the rod delivering second hand information. Slowly moving from pair to pair about 10 pairs later I got a metal signal in a pair of sneakers at eye level that had no metal on them. Lifting the shoe off I lowered it down a felt a THUNK at the heel. Looking down revealed this beautiful Rolex watch! Showing it to Latifa she yelled to the family to come and see that it was found! As time seemed to stand still she wondered how the watch got there and was happy that her sole mates gave up the watch, making the walk a bit easier and how this pair of shoes changed her life like no other!

Lost Platinum Wedding Band at Aulani Resort Ko Olina…FOUND!!!

  • from O‘ahu (Hawaii, United States)

This ring find began Thursday when I got an email from Makenna at Ko Olina Operations. Her email asked if I could reach out to a Aulani guest named Joseph from San Dimas, California who just lost his Platinum Wedding Band in five feet of water while floating. I called the number she left me and Joseph gave me more details to the search area and he was sure it was in five feet of water near to the paddle board buoys. Five feet depth is difficult to detect walking so I told Joseph I would hunt Friday morning at low tide in scuba gear with my Excalibur. The lagoon was calm when I started the scuba grid search and after about an hour and a fully expanded grid I didn’t find the ring. When I surfaced and was standing in chest deep water a young lady in the water asked if I was looking for « The Ring »? I said « Yes » but I’ve searched the entire area with no luck. Then she says the guy Joe that lost the ring yesterday was only in waist deep water. She was sure of it as they were helping them look for the ring. Okay, I’ll go get my Nox and hunt the shallow waters. Sure enough on the second leg of my grid search in waist deep water I got a booming « 13 » on the Nox and in one scoop there was Joe’s Platinum Band in my scoop. The young lady was gone so I wasn’t able to thank her but I immediately called Joe to tell him the good news. Joe had already changed hotels to Waikiki so as you can see he just swung by my house this afternoon with his lovely wife and I returned his ring. Aloha to Joe!

… Dave and his family are from Minnesota visiting his sister Sarah. They were out here celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. Three days before returning home they went to Crystal Cove State Beach, just up the coast from Laguna Beach, CA. There day was up set when Dave got knocked down by a wave, losing his custom made gold and diamond wedding ring that he had worn for 20 years.

I was contacted by a text from Sarah three days later at 6:30pm Sunday evening. We only communicated by text. She told me what had happened. The time that it happened and sent me a couple photos. I know that beach well, so I was confident that I could get to the general area without her driving 35 miles to point out the site.

I checked the tides when the loss occurred and the next best low tide. I would not be able to talk to Dave because he was on an airplane returning home. This was worth a gamble. I set my alarm for 4:30am so I could catch the next low tide. If I didn’t find the ring, I could talk to Dave getting more details from the person who lost the ring.

After about an hour and half, I got a faint signal in black wet sand. I very seldom discriminate while doing a ring search, so I dug the signal. YEP .. there in the pile of sand was a gold ring with diamonds. It had to be Dave’s ring..

Later that morning I contacted Sarah with the good new including a photo of the ring.. She was able to pick it up that afternoon. That night I received a FaceTime call from Dave , thanking me for finding his wedding ring of 20 years. We talked for 20 minutes. He told me the story of how he and his wife designed two matching rings for their wedding. I also got a call from his aunt telling me how grateful everyone was that the ring had been recovered.

It was another happy day for all concerned. I know that these rings lost in the surf are not always easy to find. This one may not have been detectable if we waited one more day. Sand moves every tide on these beaches and we have six foot tide changes.

Lost Mens Platinum Wedding Band On The Beach In Lewes, Delaware Found

  • from Lewes (Delaware, United States)
Contact:

On 06/16/2021, I was contacted by Joe in regards to his Platinum Wedding Band that he had lost on the beach at Cape Shores Development in Lewes, Delaware. Joe request my help in finding his lost ring. Upon contacting Joe at the beach he showed me two areas that he had been sitting when the ring was lost. I began a grid search of the first area and I was unable to locate the ring. Joe had chairs and an umbrella on the sand in the second area that I was to search so I requested that he move the items so that I could begin my search. While the chairs and umbrella were being moved I walked over to a corner of the area where I had decided that I would begin my search. Joe was still moving the items out of my way so I laid the coil of my detector on the sand at which time I heard a tone in my headset. I scooped up the sand from where I received the tone and low and behold there was Joes lost ring. I called out to Joe and told him that he did not need to remove anymore of his beach items because his ring had been found. The ring was then returned to its rightful owner.
