I had a call from an arborist who lost his gold wedding ring while cutting down a tree. I did a circle search around the stump until I came up with that beautiful tone!

Gold ring lost on Brighton beach
I was contacted by Laila who explained how she was sitting on Brighton beach with friends , she removed it when she applied sun cream and forgot the ring was on her lap, when she got up the ring fell and disappeared into the shingle beach , we agreed to meet on the beach early this morning, and Laila showed me the area of the beach her ring had last been seen on , her and her friends were sitting on a shingle shelf , and was sure her ring was very close to where they had all being sitting, I scanned the area with no luck , so I moved down from the shelf to the next one , after a few minutes my detector had located her ring , about 6” down in the shingle and about 10 foot from where they were sitting , it transpired that her Gold ring was a present from her mother , so was understandably so relived to be reunited with her very precious ring again , another recovery thanks to ringfinders .

On 9-14-2022 at approximately 9 pm, I was contacted by an individual looking for someone to search his vehicle for a lost diamond studded nose ring. The individual knew that he had misplaced the item within his vehicle but was unable to recover the item on his own.
It was another 4 days before our schedules aligned to perform the search using a video endoscope. I searched, unsuccessfully, for quite a while and was about to call it off, but opted to question the individual one last time.
An important new detail was revealed in that he had thought that he put the nose ring in the drivers side door pocket. He and I had both performed an inspection of this pocket by touch and nothing was in the pocket. In the name of being extremely thorough, I scanned the pocket with the video endoscope and found that the door pocket itself was made up of two pieces and that there was a small crease between the two plastic door moldings.
The other thing we noticed was a strong shimmer of light reflecting back out of that crease, but how to retrieve it?
I popped the plastic door panel away from the door and out of the corner of my eye, sighted the tiniest of objects fall to the pavement. I never imagined how small it would be, but after a good hard search and just before the skies opened up with a heavy deluge…We made the recovery!!!
This call to service reinforced the fact that continuous questioning can often times lead to new and unexpected recollections that can ultimately make or break the success of one of these searches.

10 Day Old Wedding Band Lost in the Dry Sand, Found and Returned Sunset Beach NC
A little after 2 p.m. on Sept 21st, I received a call from Cassandra saying her son, Conor, had lost his wedding band and wanted to know if I could help. First question I asked was how long ago, her response was “just now.” My second question was where he lost it, she responded in the “dry sand and he knows right where he lost it.” I asked about parking and she told me I could park in their driveway and she’d text me the address. She also told me that they were under a cabana at the end of the beach access ramp. These are the responses every Ring Finder loves to hear. I told Cassandra I could be there in 30 minutes, grabbed my gear and was on my way.
When I got there everyone was under the cabana. I met Cassandra, Conor and Christina, the new bride. Conor showed me the 3’X3’ area where he had applied suntan lotion to his chest and the ring flew off. I turned my Equinox 800 on, made the offhand comment of “let’s try and find this in under a minute,” took 2 steps and hit a solid26 on the machine. I asked Conor what his ring was made of and he said “white and yellow gold and stainless steel.” I took a scoop of sand and missed the target; my second scoop had the target. I shook the sand out and saw his ring. I extended the scoop out to him so he could retrieve his treasure. Christina said “that was less than 30 seconds.” Conor’s response was “I thought under a minute was a bold prediction.” Everything was perfect and made this an easy recovery, he just lost it in the dry sand and he knew the precise area. A little more chit chat and Christina mentioned they’d only been married for 10 days.

Lost and found IPhone 10 in Trenton Ontario
Received a text from Tim about two weeks ago, about how he had lost his cell phone at a local dock in Trenton Ontario. The phone was sitting on an empty baby carriage, with a water bottle, and the wind blew the carriage into the water. Now, the issue was that he since had left this location, on their boat, to Kingston and could not meet up at the dock. After exchanging information and pictures of the dock, I went for a scuba dive trying to locate his phone. Unfortunately, the bottom was extremely silty, with lots of weeds, and working again in zero visibility. Using my underwater metal detector, I was able to find (feel) a cell phone but not the right one. I went back a couple days later, this time using a strong fishing magnet but no luck. Finally, after talking with Tim again and fine tuning exactly where the phone had fell in, I went for a third time, scuba diving, and manage to find his phone. Another happy ending!

I got a call this afternoon in regards to a lost silver spoon ring that was custom-made for this young lady and other family members by their Nana who is 99 years old. I was on my way to Chilliwack for a search when it got called off so I headed straight to English Bay beach to help Kathy.
It was Sunday and it was a nice sunny day and it didn’t take me too long to get there and meet Kathy and hear the story on what this ring meant to her and how important it was to get it back. The fact that it was lost the same day I felt confident I would pull this out of the sand for her, it’s just a matter of doing a grid search to find it. Kathy told me she was at the beach when a volleyball came towards her and she picked it up and threw it back to the players and that’s when her ring came flying off of her finger.
She told me that her hands were cold and the ring flew off with the ball towards the players, she and others search but could not find the ring, sadly. She called her boyfriend and he went online and found TheRingFinders. When I arrived I must’ve had three or four people come up to me and see a lady had lost her ring and I told her I was there to help that lady and they were very happy to hear that, so nice that so many people cared for this young lady and we’re all hope for I will find a ring for her.
It didn’t take long to find that beautiful silver spoon ring, it was nowhere near where Kathy thought the ring would be, it was almost where she was standing and that’s because the ring came off on the downward swing of the throw.

Gold Necklace Recovered In Millstone New Jersey by Dennis Burlingame
Got a call from David on Wednesday while at work asking if I could help locating a necklace his daughter Reese lost while playing in a field with her friends. While being chased by her friends, running her hand came up and caught her necklace ripping it off her neck. She was devastated, the necklace was a gift from her late grandmother who passed away last October from cancer. She has worn it everyday since she received it. David went out that night with a flashlight for a couple of hours hoping to see it but had no luck. That’s when he contacted me for help. I told him I’d come out Friday after work to look for it. Luckily her sister had an identical necklace and I used that one to make sure I could detect it seeing it was such a thin delicate chain. I couldn’t detect the chain itself but was able to hear the stone wrapped in gold that was on the chain. They showed me an area they thought it might of been, but after awhile I had no luck. I asked Reese to think again what happened and she said it might of been over a little bit from where I had detected. Tried there but still no luck. It was getting late and I told him I’d try again the next morning. They were away Saturday, but I went back and really grid the last area we were in and about 2 3rds the way through it I found her necklace. I texted David the good news and he couldn’t believe it. They were so grateful I went back and was able to find it. We met up on Sunday for the return. I’m so glad I was able to find it so Reese can always remember her grandmother with such a irreplaceable memento.

Lost Gold and Silver Wedding Band at Kahala Beach…FOUND!!!
This ring find began when a got a call yesterday evening from Malachy who lives in Kahala on Oahu. While walking in the water at Kahala Beach with his lovely wife Fenix, Malachy’s Gold and Silver Wedding band slipped off in waist deep water and disappeared. They tried snorkeling to find the ring but no luck. We agreed to meet the next morning at beach access 133C which leads you down to the area the ring was lost. Fenix & Malachy walked me down to the beach and we placed some blankets up in the shore bushes to create a grid. Since they lived very close by, I told them they could go home and relax and I would call them when the ring was recovered. This beach is fairly trashy so I had to be very selective on target recoveries. Being two precious metals combined I wasn’t really sure what numbers to expect on the Nox, but for sure the ring should be just under the surface and a loud solid tone. I skipped over several targets until I got a boomer and after two scoops there was a can bottom in my scoop. Darn! Thought I had it. Then on the third leg of the grid in waist deep water I got that awesome tone and in one scoop there was the magnificent Mountains, Moon, Meteor and Waves in Gold ring in my scoop. I have to say this was one of the coolest rings I’ve ever seen. I went back to my car and called Malachy to let him know the good news. After returning the ring Malachy said, « You saved my marriage »! Something tells me they wouldn’t let this ring loss split up this wonderful couple! Aloha to Fenix & Malachy!
Lost and found IPhone at Bon Echo Provincial park
My adventure today was to meet up with Fatih at Bon Echo Provincial park. His IPhone fell out of his pocket while at a dock across Mazinaw lake. Fortunately for him, it was only about 10’ deep, laying flat on the bottom just before a huge drop off. While looking for his phone, also found another cell phone and four old pair of sunglasses. Absolutely beautiful day for a Scuba dive although a bit chilly with air temps of 12C and water temp of 65C. Another happy ending!
Man’s Tungsten Wedding Band Lost for 9 days in the Ocean – Found and Returned North Myrtle Beach SC
I got a text message from Sara on Sept 14th, saying “Hello! My husband lost his wedding band Monday of last week in Cherry Grove beach around 50th Ave N. I made a post about it and a couple people told me to reach out to you.” Along with the text, Sara sent a couple of pictures of the ring. I responded asking if they were still in the area or could send a Google map showing the area. I also asked about the time, whether he was in the water, and if so, how deep. Sara sent a Google map with the spot pinned and said, “He was hit by a wave, and it just came off.” I told her I’d go later in the day, a couple of hours before low tide and see what I could do. In the meantime, I contacted a friend, Mike, who hunts that area quite a bit to ask if he had come across it. I was concerned that the ring had been out there for 9 days, and I know that area gets hunted quite a bit. Mike responded that he hadn’t seen the ring and had been at 50 North that morning. He also said he had met up with half a dozen guys detecting in that area over the last week. This was not what I wanted to hear!!!
About 3 p.m. I grabbed my gear and headed to the beach to look for Sara’s husband, Jacob’s, ring. I was optimistic and kept a positive attitude even with the information Mike had passed along. When you think about it, I’m trying to find a quarter size target on a vast area of beach. Most of the people I see metal detecting start at one point and do a snake like pattern down the beach. When I’m looking for someone’s treasure, I do a grid search to ensure I don’t miss an area. In this case, it paid off. After an hour plus of grid searching, I hit a solid 18-20 VDI (visual display indicator) on the Equinox 800. These numbers were exactly the numbers I was looking for for a man’s Tungsten Wedding Band. After a couple of scoops of sand and spreading the sand out with my foot, I saw the ring sitting in the sand. I texted Sara and sent her a picture, but she didn’t respond until late evening. When she did respond she stated, “That does look like it might be it.” Now I’m second guessing myself, by the end of the night (2 a.m.), I concluded that we had the right ring. She and Jacob live locally so we set up a meeting spot to transfer her treasure. When we met, she did indeed confirm the ring was Jacobs. She told me she and Jacob were High School sweethearts and they picked out their matching wedding bands, which had a very sentimental importance to both of them. After a 9-day absence, the ring is back where it belongs!
