Cost For My Service

I work on a ''Reward Basis'' you pay what it's worth to you and what you can afford to have me find your lost item. I have a call-out fee of $25.00 if the item is not found, this covers my fuel expenses. (Maybe more or less depending on where you are located)

Search Types

Land and beach - sand and shallow water. For beach hunts the quicker you call after losing an item, the more likely I am to find it. Searches not limited to rings ! Have also found and returned keys, earrings, watches, and cellphones. If it’s metal, I can find it.

Search Locations

Mobile and Baldwin Counties - Mobile, Dauphin Island, Daphne, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Foley, Elberta, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach.

Barbara Burgess's Bio

I have been metal detecting off and on for 30 years, and more seriously for the past 5.

My husband is also an avid detectorist and often accompanies me on lost items searches so you are essentially getting two experienced persons for the price if one. Between the two of us, we have an array of several high end metal detectors using some of the most advanced detecting technology. (Equinox 800, Deus, Excalibur, AT Pro)

We have done multiple searches and returns in the past, including a 1970 University of Tennessee class ring returned to the owner almost 50 years after he lost it - you may have seen me in the news.

I look forward to reuniting you with your cherished lost items.

I got a message from Roberta one evening about a gold and diamond earring she lost in the sand on Dauphin Island. In talking to her, she told me it was lost on the biggest beach area there – one where I dread looking for lost items because it’s soooo big with very few […]

  • Lost ring – Dauphin Island, Alabama (2022)

Have I mentioned lately that jewelry recoveries are my favorite part of my metal detecting obsession ?? I saw a Facebook post yesterday evening by someone saying his buddy had lost a wedding band “somewhere between the pool and down by the beach”. It sounded like a long shot but I’m always up for a […]

  • Class ring found – Dauphin Island, Alabama (2022)

It was quite some time ago when Brittnee’s mom asked if I could find her daughter’s lost class ring. It was very sentimental to her as it had been bought for her by her now deceased grandmother.  The only problem was that she gave me a very large search area on the beach – everywhere […]
