Was the last chore of the day for Preston at his new house. Climbing the ladder, he reached the leaves on the roof and gutters full of goop and began flinging it to the ground. His wife assisted by raking it out to the street. With darkness encroaching, he finally completed the task. Back on the ground he took off his gloves and went into the house for the night. Immediately upon sitting down he noticed his ring missing. Rushing out in the dark to search brought no luck. Feeling totally drained and down the gutter he wondered where it was…in the street? in a gutter?..and having changed gloves often, what side of the house was the ring on? The next morning, I started my search and checked the piles of leaves in the street with my MXT metal detector. No signals came from that, so I grid searched towards the house on the side Preston remembered having the ring on last. Again, nothing signaled thru on the detector, so I searched a bit further out in the area where Preston had laid the ladder down to retract it. Suddenly a huge signal rang in my headphones. Reaching down thru the neighbor’s leaves revealed Preston’s handsome hammered Tungsten ring! I waved him over and when he saw it, I saw all the tension drain away from the situation. Totally pleased he asked what made me check in the neighbor’s yard? I answered, I just go with the flow!

Lost Yellow Gold and Diamonds Wedding & Engagement Rings at Paradise Cove Lagoon…FOUND!!!

This ring find began Sunday November 16th when I received a text that said, « Hi! Do you find lost rings near the Ko Olina Resort? »  I of course said yes and was then connected to Ericka who was on vacation from Beaumont, California and had lost her Yellow Gold and Diamonds Wedding & Engagement Rings at Ko Olina Resort.  Ericka had been in Lagoon 3 and Paradise Cove but didn’t realize until the end of the day that her two rings had gone missing.  She initially thought the most likely place would have been shallow water of Lagoon 3.  After a thorough search, I came up empty handed.  Using a little detective work Ericka was able to see that in some of the videos they took the ring was on her finger at Secret Beach but not at Paradise Cove Beach.  They had transited to Paradise Cove Beach via the water path between the two beaches.  So on Wednesday November 19th I went to Paradise Cove Beach to start the hunt.  Everything was going great.  I even found another small gold band then a huge Hawaiian Monk Seal decided to park on the beach.  Hawaii statute requires everyone to give them their distance and not bother their refuge.  She wasn’t going to move anytime soon so I aborted the hunt and decided to hunt the next day.  When I arrived,  there were three Monk Seals on the beach, but thankfully, they were far enough away for me to finish the remainder of the search area.  About 10 minutes into the search I got a really nice tone on the Manticore.  After two scoops I found the Yellow Gold Wedding band.  I heard another nice target and after another scoop the Yellow Gold and Diamonds Engagement  ring was in the scoop.  I looked skyward and said, « Thank You Jesus! »  I went back to my car and texted Ericka the great news.  She was obviously ecstatic.  Ericka received her rings today in the mail.  Its going to be a Happy Thanksgiving!  Aloha to Ericka!

Lost wedding ring recovered Grand Island Nebraska

After Frank had bought a metal detector and had exhausted all his efforts trying to find his wedding ring that he lost while playing with the dogs, he turned to the internet and we met. We talked about what happened. I started the search. You know, simple grid of the area where he threw the ball and felt his ring come off. Well no ring target for 60’out. Wow…..So he got on his camera and we pulled up him playing with his dogs. Found the part where he felt the ring come off. Then searched again. We then doubted if that is when he actually lost it. We searched the trash and other things he did right before playing with the dogs. All negative. Well my rule of expanding the area was going to have to be enforced. Boom in the other direction, on the other side of the fence I got the signal. I then let Frank use his new metal detector to find the signal and recover his wedding ring of 5 years. He was very thrilled and we were both astonished at where it was finally located. I believe a new treasure hunter was born that day. It was my honor to help Frank. Every search and recovery is a learning experience. Video shows the story.

Lost Yellow Gold Wedding Band at Four Seasons Ko Olina Resort…FOUND!!!

This ring find began when I got a call from Aloha Security for a guest named Alex at the Four Seasons Hotel.  Alex was on vacation with his family and not wanting to lose his Yellow Gold Wedding Ring had his daughter hold it while he swam in the lagoon.  When he came back his daughter in the next lounge chair over gently tossed his ring back to her father but it dropped into the soft dry sand and disappeared.  No matter how hard they tried sifting the sand the ring could not be found.  I told Alex I had to finish up a chore then would head out to the resort.  When I arrived Alex met me on the walkway to Four Seasons and took me to the area in the chairs the ring was lost.  We moved some metal chairs and tables out of the way and I started the hunt with the Excalibur 2.  This area of the resort has tremendous EMI and the Excal works really well in that environment.  There was an umbrella pole going into the ground and I was getting a loud low tone very close to it.  I took one scoop and the tone was still there.  Second scoop, « BINGO »  Yellow Gold Wedding Ring in the scoop.  Alex was obviously relieved and very thankful.  He even invited me to the outdoor bar for a cold beer which I thoroughly enjoyed along with his conversation and hospitality.  Aloha to Alex!

Eileen called me and asked if I could help her find a lost Mercedes Benz vehicle fob/key and she was quite sure it was somewhere in one of two cars. Apparently she had unloaded some things from one car to another and in the process she misplaced the only fob/key that she had for her older Mercedes. She looked numerous times through the car, her purse, the trunk, under the seats and everywhere she could possibly imagine…but she could not find her lost key. When she called me I could hear the stress and discouragement in her voice and I assured her I would come out and conduct a thorough search of both vehicles. I arrived Saturday morning and got right to work going through both cars with a fine tooth comb and my extra strong flashlight. After 40 minutes…NOTHING! Eileen thought that maybe someone walked by while she was moving things back and forth and possibly picked her key up off of the ground. Or maybe a crow picked it up and flew off with it! As a final effort was made to locate her lost key I sat in her older vehicles driver seat and reached up and moved the double sun visors that covered the front window and I noticed something moved…right where the two visors overlap…and sure enough there was her fob…nestled down between the two visors. The fob/key was hidden in the perfect hiding place…not visible from either side! Eileen was over joyed and how I thank God for helping me to be able to find her lost key!

Found Heirloom Gold Ring on Carport Roof

I had a text message when I woke up today that came through at 2am. Ananya asked me to help look for her ring by the carport at her apartment complex. She flung her arm up in the air and her ring went flying and was nowhere to be found. I searched the area but couldn’t find it and that’s when she mentioned it could be on the carport roof. The landlord had a ladder I used to access the roof and sure enough I spotted Ananya’s gold ring which was passed down from her grandmother.

A family enjoyed a warm day on the Ventnor NJ beach.
While applying sunscreen, she realized her rings were missing.
They searched the sand but found nothing.
Panic started to grow as the minutes passed.
A couple nearby suggested calling Ring Finders South Jersey.
I arrived quickly and began scanning the area.
My metal detector picked up a promising signal.
After a few sweeps, all three rings were recovered.
The family felt huge relief and joy.
Another happy ending on the Ventnor NJ shore.

Lost Tantalum Wedding Ring Found in Metairie, Louisiana

I received a text message from a man in Metairie, Louisiana who had lost his tantalum wedding band while playing fetch with his dog in the backyard. He’d searched everywhere in the vicinity and even tried using a cheap metal detector he had at home, but with no luck. I headed over after work, took a quick look at the yard, and within about five minutes my Nokta Makro Simplex Ultra locked onto a clean target. The ring was hiding just under the grass about 20 feet in front of the spot he thought it had fallen off. Another successful recovery and a very relieved owner! Always glad to bring these sentimental items back to the owner.

Found Ring of Iron? Not all Gold is jewelry!

I received a call from Richard today at lunchtime, while I was at work. He needed my help finding a …..Pipe!  Hmmm I thought, okay, I can do that!
He had purchased an old house with a Guest house in the back, as well, and he and his wife are restoring it. This past week we had three days of heavy rain here in California, and he noticed water in his back house basement coming from an electrical box!  Upon investigation he found that there was a pipe leading from the main house, to the back house under the concrete patio, across the lawn and under a concrete walkway into the corner of the basement!

Over 3 days, he captured 10 Gallons of water into buckets, and needed to find where this pipe was so he could repair it.
His contractor told him it would be about $3,000 to break up the concrete to find it and remove/replace it as it was likely metal pipe being such an old home.
Richard had a pretty good idea where he thought it came under the patio, but after probing down several inches witout finding it, he had a friend tell him about TheRingFinders.com so he called me.

I told him I could come out after work, and he was delighted. Grabbing my warm clothes, headlamp (because it is dark out now at 6:30PM), my Equinox 800 with large coil, and a handfull of White Golf Tee’s, I headed out to Whittier, about a 45 minute drive.
I started searching and listening for the Iron Grunt low sounds, I found a good repeatable spot and placed a Golf Tee in the grass. I continued across the yard, and kept placing Golf Tee’s and as you can guess, a straight line emerged pretty fast. All the way to the Concrete walkway just about where he expected it!
He grabbed a small shovel and began to dig, but could not get deep enough. I used my pinpointer, and there was tone for sure. I dug around deeper and soon hit rusty dirt, then paydirt! There was the pipe, and old 1″ Iron pipe, but we also uncovered a PVC Sprinkler pipe shallower so it was good to not have hit that!

The pipe was about a foot deep, not several inches like he had expected.
He was so happy, and while not a Book of Smiles Ring, a big smile for a ring of Iron pipe and thousands saved!

Lost Wedding Band Recovered in New Orleans Backyard

I was contacted by a man named James in New Orleans who lost his wedding band while pulling weeds in his backyard and had no idea where it could be, since he’d been all over the yard working in different garden beds. I started the search using my Garrett AT Pro-Pointer inside all of the garden beds but had no luck, so as daylight began to fade I switched to my Nokta Makro Simplex Ultra and began systematically searching the yard. After about 45 minutes of searching total and just before it got dark, I got a clean signal and found his ring laying just outside one of the garden beds. He was incredibly relieved, and it was another great reminder of how rewarding it is to help someone recover something so meaningful.
