Hello I was out detecting this past weekend at to beach and detecting in the surf and water at night. It was around 3:29 AM when I got a good signal in the water. I investigated and recovered the target. What i found was a class ring from 1981. Now most people would just scrap the ring for it’s gold weight. But I decided to try and find the owner since it’s the right thing to do. After much research I was able to locate the owner two days later to return it. When I got in touch with her she was very happy to here I located the ring and explained that her daughter was wearing the ring 15 years ago when it was lost. She explained she thought the ring was lost forever and was almost in tears when she learned it was found after so long. I agreed to bring it to her since she only lived 45 minutes away from me. When I got there she was extremely happy to see her ring again. She also explained her father bought the class ring for her which is why it meant so much. I was very happy to return it to her and see the smile on her face. It’s always a pleasure when I can help someone. I am including pictures of the ring and her.

Newlywed’s Ring found on Narragansett RI Town Beach

On Sunday, October 18, 2020, Matt and his wife were married on beautiful Narragansett town beach, followed by a celebration in the North Beach Club House.  At some point after the ceremony, they noticed that Matt’s wedding band had slipped off.  Friends and family  helped  search the beach and the Club House.  Guests even got a rake to search the sand and tried using a metal detector as well.  Unfortunately, these efforts only caused the ring to sink deeper in the sand.  They decided to search the internet for help and found TheRingFinders.com website.  On Monday, Matt sent me a text message asking for my help.  As soon as I got his message, I contacted Matt to let him know that I was on my way to search for his lost wedding band.  That’s when Matt told me that the wedding band had been handed down to him by his late grandfather.  Matt and his wife live in Cambridge, MA, and were unable to meet me at the beach, so they provided photos of the two areas where they thought the ring might be.  I started my search closest to the water, and in ten minutes I found Matt’s ring about 8 inches deep in the sand.  I called him with the good news.  We met that evening, and he was thrilled to have his ring back.

I got a call from a couple on their Honeymoon saying they lost their wedding ring. I said that I would be happy to help find it . I immediately got ready and left to the beach location they were at. The waves were 2-3 feet high. but I went into the water anyway to find their ring. but unfortunately the waves beat me the first day. I was rescheduling for Friday but they called Thursday wanting me to go out Thursday even though the waves were still high. I finally gave  in and agreed to make another attempt. I was not successful for about three hours . I was getting ready to give up. then at the last moment I got a target.. and it was their ring . I was so happy that I could help them find their ring. They now could completely relax and enjoy their honeymoon in peace.

Lost Ring Found…..but in the most unexpected way!!!

  • from Cochrane (Alberta, Canada)

I talked to Tina. She was desperate to get her ring back. She had lost it while walking on the Crescent Heights ridge overlooking our city’s downtown. What started as a lovely walk ended in panic when she got home and found her necklace was broken and the ring and cross that hung upon it were gone.

The cross was nice, but the ring, it was the last thing her mom gave her a year ago just before she passed. It was the only physical reminder she had of her mom and now it was gone.

Tina and I walked the route she had taken and the one she had already searched. For the most part it was on a hard packed heavily used path or the sidewalk across the street. I pretty well knew that if it fell there, it was already gone/picked up. There was a section in the park and I promised to search it.

She left and I looked. My friend Perry has a metal detector as well and I invited him to join me in the park as he only lived a few blocks away. We searched to no avail. So there ends the story.

Not so. Perry calls me a few days later. His neighbour messaged him and asked if he knows how to tell if a ring is gold or not.  When he finally gets to see the ring it turns out to be the ring lost by Tina.

It took a while but the ring is back in Tina’s hands. A little worse for wear but with a little TLC, it will be back in shape as a constant reminder of her mom’s love.  Just in time for the 1 year remembrance gathering in honour of her mom.  Tears flowed.

PS  We haven’t given up on finding the cross.

Tina’s Story

“One afternoon I was walking crescent heights in Calgary with my girls, one of which was a toddler who was on again/ off again getting a piggy back ride from mama. Upon our arrival at home, I felt what I thought was a hair on my neck to only discover my chain had snapped! Well on that chain was a ring left to me by my mother who passed away at the same time last year! I was devastated to say the least, we traveled a pretty vast distance with truly no rhyme or reason to our path. I went into panic mode and contacted the local school, put up posters and walked that area for countless hours- NOTHING!
The next day I posted something on Calgary lost and found to have someone suggest contacting a metal detector group, and from there I met Evan ( angel to say the least) in our chat I discovered he had already begun searching for the ring, not even knowing one another yet! (The school put out a post)
We met the following day, I showed him my route, he seemed doubtful yet optimistic as the distance was vast yet contained if that makes sense…?

This man searched for hours on end, and no ring to be found! Again just devastated. Especially as I was approaching the anniversary of my mother’s passing!

One day closer to the date, I got a message from Evan indicating that someone approached a metal detecting buddy of his and they believed the ring was found!!! My heart was in my throat- honestly.

Evan and his friend rushed to get that ring to me, and although that ring was damaged it was the ring!!! The band was damaged but all stones in place!

Evan went above and beyond to help me find this ring! From his countless hours of search, to holding my hand, and offering encouragement all along, to hand delivering the ring, but days before my mother’s passing anniversary.

In this case the ring finder was so good, the ring found him! I am forever indebted to him, not only for physical efforts but his support! Words can’t express what this man has done for me and if I ever lose anything again (fingers crossed I don’t) he’s the best guy for the case!

On a side note there was a cross on that chain too, and he still continues to search for it! I’m amazed at his devotion ( the thrill of the hunt? 🤔) either way I’m grateful beyond words! “

Thank you from the bottom of my heart Evan!

LOST RING IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC…… FOUND!

  • from Raleigh (North Carolina, United States)

Shawn SGT Sherrill – Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Call ASAP  Anytime 24/7   918-313-2202

I got a call on 9/14 around 7:30 from Shawn. He stated he was in his front yard playing with his daughter and as he was throwing things around and he’s ring flew off! He said he wasn’t sure where it landed. I told him I could be there on 9/15 and help him locate it.

When I got there the yard wasn’t very big, so it didn’t take me long (about 5-10 mins) to locate it and return it back to its owner.

After I located it, he proceeded to tell me they had just gotten married and they were leaving for the honeymoon the next day. He was happy that I saved the ring, his marriage and enabled him to enjoy his honeymoon all in one swing of my coil. I was very glad to help Shawn get out of the doghouse!

Rick & Brian

Rick Browne from the Ring Finders gave me a text earlier this morning and asked if I were up for another hunt, I said of course I am in, Lets do it. We met up today at the Beach location where the Tungsten Wedding Band was lost the day before by Brian. Brian met us there and we all went over where and how he thought he lost it. We marked out an area on the beach, where he was building sand castles with his son, and where it may have dropped off into the waters edge. Rick went one way, and I the other, on the dry sand at first. Twenty five minutes later we still had no ring. I chatted about it with Brian again, and he said maybe it fell while he swam a bit further out, I checked out there too, still nothing. I then went outside the lines that he had made for us, and as I was searching, I mentioned to Brian if and when I find it, most likely it will be rite on top. I took two steps and got a nice loud target, moved my coil off of it, and looked into the two foot clear water, and I could see it, there it was just sitting on top just as I said it would be,  I called Brian over to witness it, and Rick joined in to.  Another successful hunt by Rick and myself. Brian’s Anniversary is this coming Monday. Congratulations Brian,  and Happy Anniversary. Leighton

3.5 Carrot Diamond 18K Gold Ring

Got another call from Rick Browne yesterday afternoon, saying that there was a lost diamond engagement ring on the beach, he wanted to know if I wanted to try for it. I Immediately said of course. Off I went in just a half hour we met, loaded up. and started to drive to the beach up north, to meet up with Rock, the husband of Angela, who had lost the ring when she had tripped and fell on some rocks at the beach a few days earlier. When we got there, Rock was so appreciative that we had answered him so fast, and met him within an hour and a half. I asked him how, when, and where it had fallen off of Angela’s finger.  He went over the story of how precious this ring really was, and that he had a choice over a Porsche or a Diamond Ring for then his bride to be over 25 years ago. He chose the ring. So we needed to get it back to Rock & Angela if we could. Rick and I went rite behind Rock and watched as he was very optimistic, and wasn’t sure how we were going to make this unfold. I told him no promises but we will give it our best shot. Lets face it, traveling 40 miles to put a 10 inch coil over a half inch ring, that’s buried a foot deep by now is very slim at most to find. Low and behold, Rick made a pass down and I went left, first target was a brass nail, and as I turned around heading back up slope, I had a faint signal, and one foot down, out on top of the sand was the BIGGEST Diamond ( 3.5 Carrots ) I have ever seen, or recovered for someone. Let me tell you, I was actually shaking, although I tried to calm my self down, I just couldn’t, it actually made me shiver as I looked back at Rock, I winked, and gave him the thumbs up, he just couldn’t believe I had Angela’s ring in my hand. He actually ran to me. I yelled to Rick and said OK lets go take some pictures. LOL He just shook his head, and said man what a team we are. P.S. Rick never said how big it was,  Maybe that’s a good thing, or perhaps he didn’t know either. I may have been to pressured to find it, Congratulations to Rock & Angela for making what we do so much fun. Leighton

14 K Gold Heavy Band Yarmouth Cape Cod

Sun Ring

Rick Browne (Ring Finder) Gave me a call to help locate a wedding band, that was tossed by accident from a finger while out body surfing. It was lost close to shore, and close to his home, but almost a week had gone by before Pam had contacted us to search for it. So off I went to meet up with Rick, we spent a couple hours in the rough surf, and pouring rain, to no avail. Pam had to leave shortly and I think she had almost gave up on it, but before she did, i really thought i had it a couple of times, and called her over only to see aluminum in my scoop, I was getting discouraged also. So we decided to go back again early next morning, again two more hours and no ring. We knew it was there, but where? it must have gotten buried fast in the very heavy surf. We let it sit for a few more days. We had made plans to go out detecting on our own, but Rick said hey Leighton, let’s give it one more shot for the band. I agreed, and off we went. This time a different machine in both of our hands, and much less waves, my detector made that small grunt we all love to hear, thirty minutes into the hunt, was a beautiful heavy Gold, 14K wedding band inscribed with both Pam and Keith’s wedding date. Third time was a charm. Persistence paid off and never give up. Its there. you just need the conditions and have to go over it.
