Candice and her husband, Jason, were enjoying a much needed break on Flagler Beach over the Thanksgiving holidays and late evening on Thanksgiving eve she and her husband were relaxing on the dry sand when the unthinkable happened…she felt her diamond engagement ring and wedding ring come off of her finger and watched them disappear into the soft beach sand.  They searched desperately for hours and they simply could not find them and a heavy sadness came over Candice that crushed her heart and spirit.  (It is for this very reason that I joined theringfinders.com and that is to be able to help give hope and practical assistance to those who find themselves in these kinds of desperate situations.)

Jason called me at 12:35 am Thanksgiving morning and I could hear the pain and desperation in his voice as he briefly told me what happened.  It took me only 10 minutes to get my equipment packed up and at 2:00 am in the morning I met Jason and Candice and in the pitch dark of night we walked out onto the sandy beach.  Thankfully they had marked the area where she thought she dropped her rings and after a 5 minute grid search I got a sweet signal that I figured had to be her lost rings.  I made a circle in the sand around the signal and gave Candice my Garrett Pro Pointer and told her to find and retrieve her own rings…and what an absolute thrill and joy it was to see her melt and cry tears of happiness and total relief!  Jason gave me a huge bear hug and Candice just knelt there in the sand and cried.  How I thank God for allowing me to be used by Him to help this dear couple in their time of need!

Early Monday morning, I got a text from Antimm, who’d lost his necklace while body surfing at Santa Claus Beach in Carpinteria. The necklace—a gold baptismal cross with a silver pendant—was missing after he came in from the waves. We arranged to meet that afternoon at low tide to start the search in Carpinteria’s coastal waters.
For two hours, I battled the surf near Ventura County’s edge, searching the shallows with my metal detector. The waves were relentless, and despite my efforts, the necklace eluded me. After checking tide charts for Santa Barbara County beaches, I told Antimm I’d return Friday when conditions might improve—he was certain it was lost in the wash.
Friday rolled around, and Santa Claus Beach had transformed. The tide was out, but a strong swell had erased the sandbar I’d relied on Monday. The waves were fierce, soaking me head to toe as I searched deeper waters. After an hour of getting tossed around Carpinteria’s surf, I shifted spots and finally got a solid signal in about three feet of water.
I scooped, checked the hole, and saw it in my basket—until a wave crashed over me, washing it away! As the water pulled back, I spotted a silver disc glinting in the sand. Heart racing, I scooped again, securing it this time. There it was: Antimm’s necklace, a near-miracle recovery from the Ventura-Santa Barbara County shoreline. I couldn’t believe it—to God be the glory!

Lost diamond ring in yard, Hastings, Florida…found with a metal detector by ring finder Mike McInroe!

My name is Mike McInroe and I am a Lost Item Recovery Specialist!  On land, in the water, grass, yards, woods, houses, vehicles or under ground…please call ASAP anytime at 321-363-6029!

Makayla called me to ask if I could help her find a very special ring that was lost in a small animal pen behind her house.  Before attempting any search I always ask some very specific questions to help me determine the likelihood of actually finding the lost or misplaced item.  Thankfully Makayla assured me that her friend actually felt the ring come off and it was in a very small area and they had not disturbed the area for fear of burying it further in the straw.  Apparently while spreading the straw out, her friend actually felt her ring slip off of her finger and it immediately disappeared…especially since the ring was a gold ring and almost the very same color as the straw.  They began looking through the 12 inch thick straw and after a while they gave up and decided they needed a metal detector and that led them to the internet and theringfinders web site.

It only took a few minutes to locate the lost diamond ring in the straw and the young couple was thrilled to have their precious ring back again.

Lost Gold Ring Found in Birmingham Michigan

Un-Gloved….

…It started out a busy day for Mrs. Teena, for she had lots of places to go and a ton of tasks to complete around the house and yard. It was now evening and while enjoying dinner she noticed her ring was missing. Mentally going over where she may have lost the ring, she concluded that the characters involved in the disappearance was classy car, brownie leaf bag and friends, bladed grass, steely sewer drain or lefty grip glove and his right-hand man. Approaching classy car it said « It wasn’t me! I carry around a lot of weight but none of it is gold so go check brownie leaf bags! », and on doing so, no metal was detected with my MXT detector. Brownie bags got offended and said, « Why didn’t you check the bladed grass before me? ». Bladed grass was so thin we could see that the ring was not there but mentioned that steely sewer can see everything from below and noticed Mrs. Teena taking lefty grip glove and right-hand man on and off while filling up brownie leaf bags! But prior to my arrival Mrs. Teena checked both gloves and found nothing. I asked where grippy gloves were hiding and she said they were concealed out of sight by the house. I said that’s the clue we were waiting for! Lifting up the gloves I proceeded to scan them with my detector and got a metal signal and reading that indicated GOLD! Mrs. Teena and husband were awe struck and said again that she checked the gloves. So, reaching into the finger slot I was able to wiggle out Mrs. Teena’s very thin gold ring that lefty grip glove was hiding! Both she and husband were thrilled that this winning move to recover the ring fit like a glove!

Mulch Ado About Nothing……

…As David was hurrying to finish his outside tasks for the year his ring disappeared and with way too mulch on his agenda didn’t realize it until later that night. After looking without mulch luck, he called me to come by to metal detect. Fretting over the phone about not knowing where it was, I told his wife out in the yard that it wouldn’t be too mulch trouble to find it. Scanning the grounds I got no junk signals but nearing the end of the mulch beds I got a great signal and reading on the detector’s meter where tungsten rings usually appear. Probing down a bit with the pin pointer I got a metal target. Reaching down revealed David’s tungsten ring! I walked around to the front door and presented the ring to David’s wife and with mulch enthusiasm on the phone David said mulch obliged!

I received a call from Andy who stated that his wife’s wedding ring had been lost in the area of his driveway. We talked for a bit and exchanged a few texts and I arranged to go out the next morning.

Andy met me at his home and stated that he thought the ring was in or around a bush next to the driveway. He thought he saw the ring fall into that area but he and a neighbor who had a metal detector were unable to find it. I immediately went to work feeling pretty confident that the ring would be somewhere close but probably not in the bush if the neighbor did not find it. I soon figured out why the other person had a tough time as the ground was super loud with all sorts of sounds. I checked around the bush and then expanded my search but came up empty. I then commandeered a trash can and started to clean up the leaves along the side of the driveway but again…nothing. I then went back into the area of the bush and with my detector and pin pointer and started to pull out some small nails and a few other targets. I kept getting a hit at the base of the bush and but I could not locate the source. I kept going removing lot of leaves and some mulch…the target was there but ever elusive. All of a sudden – I found the ring!! It was located at the base of the bush which was coiled around like a spring and had gotten covered up, maybe from the previous searches.

I called Andy who came back to retrieve the ring. I told him it was in the bush where he thought but it was really tough find. Andy was very thankful and immediately took the ring inside for when his wife arrived home. As always it was a pleasure to meet another kind and generous client like Andy and return his wife’s wedding ring.

Lost Gold & Diamonds Sentimental Mother’s Day Earring at Kaluahole Beach…FOUND!!!

This Earring hunt began when I got a text from Carolyne saying, « I lost an earring in the Diamond Head area.  Ring if you can help. »  I asked if she had parking as this area was all condos with no street parking.  She responded « Yes » The tide is high right now…It’s probably lost forever »  I said, « No.  Low tide is 6:30 »  I’ll call you before I head over.  When I arrived Carolyne directed me to the parking and escorted me to the beach entry.  Her husband Mark was going to come down and walk me out to the area down the coast a bit.  Carolyne had the other earring in a bag,  so I scanned it on the Manticore and it was a 3-4 on the VDI.   Mark took me to the search area and I told him it could take awhile so he didn’t have to stick around.  I started the hunt and there were several iron pieces along the retaining wall I had to work through.  The first possible target was a small chunk of Aluminum.  The next target was a #10 on the VDI and to my surprise it was the stunning earring.  Mark had started walking back to his condo when I yelled, « I got a gold earring with diamonds »  and he came back quickly to confirm.  He was in shock saying, « That’s it! »  I found out it was actually lost two days prior so what a blessing it didn’t end up in the coral after at least 4 pounding high tides.  The difference in the VDI had to be the earring Carolyne let me test was closed and the found earring was open.  Good point to remember.  When we got back to Carolyne she was obviously ecstatic after a successful recovery.  A few hugs & handshakes and of course the smiles.  Aloha to Carolyne & Mark!

Lost wedding ring found in Murfreesboro, TN

Kari’s husband lost his titanium wedding band in the back yard of their beautiful Murfreesboro, TN home about a month ago when he was doing some yard work. They had spent countless hours searching for the ring, and even bought an inexpensive metal detector to use themselves. Kari was able to laugh when she said it was a much better noisemaker than a metal detector. Kari and her husband were somewhat certain the ring was somewhere in their backyard, but no idea where in the pretty expansive yard. I began a grid search and located the ring in just under 22 minutes. I offered to show Kari how to use the metal detector they bought in the event they needed to find another ring. She was quick to respond that she would much rather just call me for any future metal detecting needs. It is often that word-of-mouth recommendations are the best advertising there is.

Lost ring found in Brentwood, TN

Gary called me on 11-22-2024 and let me know that he lost his platinum wedding band a week ago in his back yard. He was pretty confident that it was in about a 20’ by 20’ grassy area. He had searched the area for a week, even using what he called a “kid’s” metal detector, and had no luck finding the very sentimental wedding band. We agreed that I would search his yard on 11-23-2024. After he showed me the area where he believed the ring slipped off his finger while he was playing catch with his son, I turned on my detector and got to work. I had another day where luck played a huge part, not so much in finding the ring, but in the time it took to find it. In a new personal record of 38 SECONDS I found Gary’s ring. He could not believe it was found so quickly. It was the first signal with my detector and I hadn’t even moved my feet. Today was another great day helping reunite someone with their beloved treasure.

Range Rover Car Key Lost in Sand at Santa Monica Beach…Found and Happily Returned.

Got a call from Declan about 7:00 PM about a key fob he had lost earlier in the day in the sand at the beach. After a few questions he let me know that he had buried his key marked by his flip flops so he could go surfing, but while he was out the county beach cleaners came through, and his flip flops were gone. He suspected the key went with it, which sounded like the most reasonable outcome, but he asked if I could come to do a search anyway. I said I would leave immediately, and met him on the beach about an hour later.

Declan had found his flip flops down the beach a ways, so he took me out to that spot to begin my search. He said he had buried his keys at the top of the slope down to the water, and I could tell that the machine had cleaned right up to the edge of that slope. He had a spare key exactly like the one that was lost, so I asked him to lay it down so I could get a reading from it in order to not have to dig signals that were not even close. I then began my search not worrying about signals that were not close. Then about 100 feet from where we started I received a close signal, dug, and dumped the sand. I put my coil over the hole again, not there. I put the coil over the dumped sand, not there. As I was checking the pile Declan walked up with his light and reached right behind me, and lifted up the plastic bag with his key. It must have hooked my scoop, and flipped behind me when I dumped the sand. Needless to say he was happy, and I was excited because you could see that the machine had gone over the spot but missed his key. Great night!
