Lost 3 Ring Wedding Set Raking Leaves in Backyard, in Cedar Hill,Tx

We received a call from Christine about 3pm on Sunday afternoon.  She got our name and number from a friend she had told that she had lost her wedding set of 3 rings.

Christine lives on about a acre of land, she had gone out to the back of the property to help her husband bag up some leaves that he had been raking together.  They worked together for about a hour and finished up and carried the bags of leaves up to the garage about a half acre away.   That was when she realized that her Wedding Set (3 rings) was missing.  In a panic, she and her husband looked all over the yard, they dumped the leaf bags out but did not see anything.  They spent several hours looking with no luck.   Later in the day while talking with her friend, she told her about the lost rings.  Her friend said, wait a minute I heard about this website of people who find rings.  She Googled and found « The Ring Finders » website and called Christine back and gave her our number.

It was about 3pm when Christine called and she lived 41 miles from us.  I told her we would be there in about and hour & a half.  We needed to hurry as I was concerned it would get dark and it was already quite cold, and the darkness would only make it colder.   We arrived and got our 2 Garrett AT Pros and Pinpointers out then Christine walked us to the back of the acre of property.  She showed us all the places she walked and was helping her husband with the leaves.   Ellen and I chatted about what area we would grid off visually and began to detect.   Within 10 minutes I hear Ellen say « Here’s One »,  I joined her as we looked through about 4-6 inches of leaves in a pile but nothing else rang up on the detectors.   I told Ellen to keep looking and I ask Christine to show me the bags of leaves, my thinking was that if one ring was in the pile of leaves that they had been bagging then it was likely the other rings would be in the bags of leaves near the garage.   I began to scan the full plastic bags of leaves with my detector and got 3 very light hits.   I kept scanning but nothing else hit so I backed up to the bag with something metal inside.   I tore a small hole in the bag and began to stick my Pinpointer into the bag.  As I got a signal, I used my hand to begin pulling out whatever the metal was.  1st hit was piece of wire, the second was a metal screw and the 3rd hit I could not see it.  Finally I saw a glint of Gold in the bag.  I began to smile but had to fight the leaves to find it, and finally the smallest of the 3 rings rings was found.   Christine was standing right beside me and could not believe I found it.  Now the only ring missing was the most expensive, the diamond solitaire with several small diamonds around the band.   After determining that nothing else was in the 4-5 bags of leaves, I walked back to the rear of the property and told Ellen that I had found one but that one was still missing.  She had been working out visual grid and I went back and started back over the grid working the opposite direction.   I made several passes checking every 2inch or less hit that I got regardless of the type of signal.  Then I got a shaky 44-46 hit that was very weak,  as I was checking everything I almost kept going but thank goodness I did not.  I reached down and moved the leaves and grass and there it was, the diamond solitaire twinkled at me.  I reached down and picked it up and ask Christine, « Would this make you Happy! »  She and her husband were so excited and grateful.  It is so much fun to see the reaction of our customers when we are successful.

So 3 rings, 1 in the leaf pile, 1 in a trash bag a 1/2 acre away and one in the grass 5-6 feet away from the 1st one.

Another successful hunt for « The Ring Finders ».

I received a call from Adam this afternoon asking if I could find his wife’s wedding and engagement rings.  Yesterday, she had fallen while getting out of the car. She had not been wearing any gloves and when she shook her hand to remove the snow her rings had flown off. I met up with Adam one hour after his call and he showed me where he had shoveled and brushed the snow to the side where he thought the rings might be. He had also used his old metal detector which he had from years ago but with no luck. I found both rings within two feet of where he thought the rings were.

Thank you, Adam & Erin for calling me, and for the generous reward.

Happy New Year to you both!

Lost Ring Phone Support 🙂

Hi John,

My name is Alvaro ******** and I misplaced my aggie ring over the weekend at home.  Normally I place my ring on top of the family dresser, and vaguely remember doing so.  However, we have not been able to find it over the weekend.  Are you able to assist with the search for this ring?  It is likely inside the house in a drawer or crack(I think).  We live in the Heights in a Bungalow.  If you can assist us, please let me know how much you would charge for your services.  Do you work off contingencies?

Thank you

Alvaro *********

Alvaro,

Thank you for contacting me, when I hear about these type of losses, I often recommend waiting for up to 72 hours, as the rings in these situations tend to show up on their own.

If that time has passed, and the ring is still missing from your home, you have to ask yourself these real questions.

1. Who has had access to the ring since you last remember seeing it. This list would include friends, family, service persons, etc?

2. Have you checked all the obvious places like your pockets, laundry basket, behind dressers, beds, etc?

3. Check the vacuum cleaner bag

4. Could the ring have bypassed any drain guard in any sink? If yes, you need to check the drain pipe traps.

MOST of my expertise in locating missing items (rings) is by utilizing the latest technology in metal detecting equipment.  This work is traditional done in an outdoor environment.  I have assisted people on these types of jobs before, sometimes a clean set of eyes can be a factor, but we need to focus on the fact that your ring did not disappear on its own.

Professionally, I often tell people to sit down and write out their daily activities of the day in question. This act often creates a recall we might not have had just thinking about the particular day or incident.

Let me know.

Stan and Rick with smiles!

Stan's Ring

                                                                Stan’s Ring

August was a fine month for boating and beach going. The only moment that was a downer was when Stan’s ring slipped from his finger while mooring his boat on the BassRiver. The spot had been one of his favorite places to watch other boaters and the surrounding homes.

October came and Stan read about TheRingFinders in an article about Rick returning two class rings. What the heck, he had nothing to loose and he called Rick. A meeting was set for the next weekend.

On the last day of November at 1pm. Stan, Rick’s friend Dick and Rick were ready to walk to the location of the ring’s loss and start searching. The river’s current was running fast and it was about 2 hours before low tide. Dick started the search above the high tide mark while Rick started searching at the water’s edge. Each worked down the sandy slope so their machines would not interfere with each other. About 10 minutes into the search after only two pull tabs and one sinker Rick saw a gold ring in his scoop. A quick look to verify the date and then Stan was given the honor of taking his ring from the scoop and he immediately placed the wedding band back on the finger where it belonged. One happy ending with SMILES!

Now there was only one thing Stan was going to do and that was to get the ring re-sized.

A note from Stan:

HI RICHARD, I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR FINDING MY WEDDING BAND, MY WIFE CALLED
IT A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. I WISH YOU AND YOUR WIFE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND MANY
YEARS OF GOOD HEALTH.. STAN WOJNAR….. I WILL SEE YOU SOON . THANKS
AGAIN…

I received a call today from Ryan and Jess regarding Ryan’s lost wedding ring.

Ryan and Jess reported Ryan was playing football in the front yard with family when

his ring flew off of his finger.

Ryan mentioned his wife Jess was not happy :), but after speaking to her she

insisted Ryan would be sleeping in-doors tonight regardless of the out-come.

Ryan reported one of his family members had located www.theringfinders.com after

his failed attempts at finding his ring.

I think you can tell from the smiles, today was a good day

I was happy very happy for Ryan and Jess, you could see the relief and happiness

in both of them when the ring was recovered.

imageimagePerhaps this ring looks familiar! It should . I posted it about july 12th 2012 when I first found it in the garden for a customer. Well, today I received another call from the same customer. This time the ring came off while hanging Christmas lights. Ironically, it was found about 3 feet away from where I found it last year!
Maybe I should consider a package discount. 😉

Lost Texas A&M Class Ring Woodlands, Texas (Recovered)

Hi John,

I work for The Woodlands Township in The Woodlands and I supervise the
boathouse next to the woodlands mall. Today at work, my worst nightmare
happened. I went to shake someone’s hand and they pulled my ring off and it
bounced off the dock into the lake. It is about 4.5 to 5 ft deep where it fell
in and it is in probably a 5 by 5 ft area next to the dock.

I found you online at www.theringfinders.com when I was looking for metal

detector rentals. Is there ANY way you can help me with this. My ring is/was easily

my most prized possession.

Please, if you get a chance I would love to hear back from you with any help
you might be able to offer me.

Thanks in advance,

Kyle

I met Kyle this morning at the Woodlands Boat House and  Kyle gave me a first hand

account of how the ring was lost and where he believed it landed in the water.

The job appeared easy from the top side, I was thinking, I’ll jump in this tropical warm

blue water, grab the ring and job complete.

Well the water wasn’t tropical or warm and the bottom of the dock was concrete with

apparently a lot of re-enforced re-bar. I found the ring, lots of luck on this job. I was

thinking to myself, Kyle you just witnessed an early Christmas Miracle 🙂

I was really happy for him, It was clear from the beginning the Ring was very important to him.

Lost item in Eastern Washington

  • from Spokane (Washington, United States)

The trees have ears..?

The trees have eyes you might be saying, however deep in the mountains of northeast Washington  they had ears. What I mean is that, a gentleman named Skip had lost his hearing aid while out hunting. After looking in the dark for a few minutes and returning the next day to find that it had snowed, Skip decided to look for help. He called a local metal detecting shop and asked about renting a detector. The sales man knew he wouldn’t have any luck so he told him to look up the Ring Finders. So a few days ago I returned Skip’s call and set up a date to go looking. it was 19 degrees, the ground was frozen, but the sun was out. It took one and half ours to drive out to the location, 5 minutes to walk to the area, and 2 minutes for me to turn on my Whites DFX.  After Swinging it around and just barely hearing a change in the threshold while in pinpoint mode, Skip and I started looking on our hands and knees. Just moments into it Skip pulled out a piece of the aid from underneath a few twigs. So then we started moving around some branches and I spotted the other half that contained the inner workings for the aid. Happy, cold and elated to have helped this man, I thought I am so glad this was my first ring finders happy ending. Thank you for calling me Skip it means more than anything to have had the chance to help you.
