Engagement Ring recovered in Long Beach

Call Surf City Ring Finder 714-944-0555

Kayla called me Sunday night at 8pm and asked if I could help find her engagement ring she lost in the dry sand. The ring just slipped off her finger while she was picnicking with her fiancé Christian.

I immediately headed to their location and they were waiting for me to arrive. They were going to buy a cheap metal detector at a sporting goods store but they were closed already. Before they left to the store Christian put a stick in the sand to mark the location of the loss.

They weren’t 100 percent sure the ring was even lost at the picnic site. I started to detect towards the stick and I received a great signal with a VDI of 8, the same as her matching ring so I reached down and saved her ring from a sandy grave.

November 2021 Martina called asking for help. She explained that she was in her friends car sitting in the front passenger seat. She had just put hand sanitizer on and her engagement ring slipped out of her grasp. After stopping the car in her driveway the girls were very cautious searching absolutely every place they could however they were unable to locate her engagement ring. This engagement ring came from her fiancés mother and Thanksgiving was just days away. Martina could not bear the thought of hang to tell her future mother-in-law the sad news.

Desperate and frantic to find a solution after searching the car several times with no success lead her to a Google search that landed her at TheRingFinders.com She put her local zip code in and found my listing. After reading my profile page she was convinced enough to give me a call seeking some professional help. I reassured her that I have experience and special tools for this exact type of search and that I would do all I could to find the ring if its still there to be found. I also reassured her I’d be able to search her front yard if the ring didn’t show up in the car.

We met at her friends home where I was greeted with a very clean car.  Never assuming anything I had to ask her if the car was this clean during the time of the loss or if it had been picked up at all. She assured me            the car was in the same condition since the loss. As experienced finders we have learned to ask a lot of investigative questions to draw as many details as possible. If there had been other bags or garbage in the car this could leading to other potential hiding spots as to where a lost ring could get transported out of its initial location. I as happy to hear on the search that car was as clean as the day of the loss. This drove some confidence that the ring might sill be in the vehicle. Keeping a positive frame of mind always helps with any search. After searching under the passenger seat with my video endoscope and bright LED flashlight there was one hot spot that had to be checked. The HVAC vent under the seat. These are typically like a plastic duct system designed to direct heating and cooling towards the back seat passengers. Rings bing heavy in nature will often make their way to the lowest parts and sometimes fall inside these duct tubes. From there is unfortunately a slippery duct system with smooth metal rings against a plastic duct system.  The longer they are in a vehicle the deeper they may go as every brake action can cause the ring to move further and further out of reach. This is why time is your enemy if you have lost a ring especially in your vehicle! Fortunately we have some pretty creative tools and experience in recovery of rings lost in vehicles. It’s not at all recommended to take your car to a mechanic for a lost ring. We have examples of people having seats pulled from a vehicles, large labor charges and still no rings recovered. Remember a mechanics aren’t focused on lost ring recovery and are typically working as fast as possible to get each job accomplished. An auto mechanic shop is not the best option for a lost item recovery search. Being a mechanic myself and having all the tools to remove seats from vehicles I have found easier and better ways of inspection and item recovery reducing seat removal.

What the video to see my process in action returning now only a cherished engagement ring but a big smile to Martina’s face. She was very relieved and now ready to visit her family for the Thanksgiving holiday.

November 2021 Mikala called me shortly after Halloween asking fro some professional help. She explained to me that her whole family have been on the search for her missing wedding rings and they could not find them. She went into detail telling me that the family and her toddler were up on the second level of their home carving pumpkins. During this activity she had taken off three rings from her hand and placed them on top of her sons highchair tray. Well after the pumpkin carving and clean up she went looking for her rings and they were all missing. They searched the area they had been carving and tore apart the highchair and no rings were to be found.

A bit after the incident her husband happened to eyeball one of the three rings a sterling silver ring laying at the bottom of their balcony steps. This lead them to think that possibly their toddler must have seen the shiny rings on the tray table and somehow got ahold of them. They have big dogs and their son has been known to throw rocks off the balcony for them to chase after. This gave them reason to believe their son may have tossed mommies rings for the dog as well. This lead to more searching high and low outside of the home but the wedding rings never came into focus.

Mikala told me they didn’t have any experience using a metal detector and once she found TheRingFinders online she soon rather just call a professional to come search for her wedding set.  I told her that it sounds like a great challenge and I be honored to drop by and perform a search.

The day of the search was not unlike another winter day in the Pacific North West full of wind and rain. In full rain gear I gathered my tools and was off to another lost wedding ring adventure.

Watch the video to see as we bring back not one but two smiles to Mikala’s face. This search took quite a bit of effort but was worth every bit of it to have recovered her lost wedding set of four years.

September 2021 I received a call from Robert the owner operator of Boat Snake Yacht Maintenance. He explains his line of work is performing yacht maintenance to include every thing from wash downs to full vessel detailing. While he was recently serving one of his clients boats they took a wake surging the vessel and it knocked the gunnel ladder off the boat. Unfortunately it did not land on the marina deck but took a plunge and went straight to the bottom of the lake. He told me he had been searching on line to find an exact replacement but was having no success in finding what he needed. That is when he decided to seek out a diver for hire. He called one of the local marine guys and for what ever reason they provided a referral to call the SeattleRingHunter.

Having experience in Lake Union I gladly agreed to help Rob. We set time to meet and the mission wast set. The morning of the recovery Rob was able to accommodate his schedule to meet me and show me first hand where the ladder had fallen into the lake. Having a first hand account identifying the drop zone made for a straight forward recovery plan.  After executing the recovery I was happy to hand the gunnel ladder over to him with smiles all around. We were both happy to have retrieved his clients ladder for the best all around solution. I applaud Rob the level of customer service he provided to his cline. It’s nice to see a high level of care offered to those he services. If you are in the need for some yacht maintenance be sure to reach out to Robert for a quick chat and tell him the SeattleRingHunter said to say hi.

Lost gold wedding band Oak Meadows Park, Vancouver…Found!

  • from Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada)

Vancouver Ring Finder Chris Turner- Ring Recovery Specialist…Lost your ring?… Metal Detecting Service/Call ASAP  Anytime   778-838-3463

It’s Sunday around 11am, I’m making brunch when I received a text message for help. I read the message and it said  »Hi my name is Travis I just lost my ring at Oak Meadows field in Vancouver ». I called immediately, I asked my questions in regards to where Travis thought the ring was lost and quickly ate my brunch and hit the road.

I got to the soccer field minutes before the ultimate Frisbee game was over and met Travis, we talked for a few minutes and another player walked over and introduced himself to me, it was a previous client from maybe four years back who I help find his gold wedding band. He was so kind to make mention of my directory in order for his friend Travis to get a hold of me.

After talking to Travis the search that I thought was not going to take long could  turned out to be a long day due to the fact it could’ve fallen out of his pocket pretty much anywhere. You see Travis took his ring off to keep it safe and put it in his jacket pocket, when he got to the sidelines of the field, from walking from the car he realized his ring was missing and realize there was a ring size hole in his pocket. I walked the walk with Travis he showed me where he came on to the field, where he went across the field, and where on the sideline he went.

Right away I knew this could be a long search close to 100 yards in distance and could be possibly 10 to 20 yards across, I began the process of my grid search and close to an hour into the search on this rainy day people were starting to show up to the field to play ultimate frisbee. Two other teams showed up and I knew my time was limited, I kept grid searching and found the ring an hour into the search. I was so relieved to find his ring because I would’ve stayed for two hours until that game was done in order to start searching again and also it was Travis’s 19th wedding anniversary this Wednesday so you can imagine how badly he wanted to have this ring back.

… Dave and his family are from Minnesota visiting his sister Sarah. They were out here celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. Three days before returning home they went to Crystal Cove State Beach, just up the coast from Laguna Beach, CA. There day was up set when Dave got knocked down by a wave, losing his custom made gold and diamond wedding ring that he had worn for 20 years.

I was contacted by a text from Sarah three days later at 6:30pm Sunday evening. We only communicated by text. She told me what had happened. The time that it happened and sent me a couple photos. I know that beach well, so I was confident that I could get to the general area without her driving 35 miles to point out the site.

I checked the tides when the loss occurred and the next best low tide. I would not be able to talk to Dave because he was on an airplane returning home. This was worth a gamble. I set my alarm for 4:30am so I could catch the next low tide. If I didn’t find the ring, I could talk to Dave getting more details from the person who lost the ring.

After about an hour and half, I got a faint signal in black wet sand. I very seldom discriminate while doing a ring search, so I dug the signal. YEP .. there in the pile of sand was a gold ring with diamonds. It had to be Dave’s ring..

Later that morning I contacted Sarah with the good new including a photo of the ring.. She was able to pick it up that afternoon. That night I received a FaceTime call from Dave , thanking me for finding his wedding ring of 20 years. We talked for 20 minutes. He told me the story of how he and his wife designed two matching rings for their wedding. I also got a call from his aunt telling me how grateful everyone was that the ring had been recovered.

It was another happy day for all concerned. I know that these rings lost in the surf are not always easy to find. This one may not have been detectable if we waited one more day. Sand moves every tide on these beaches and we have six foot tide changes.

“I FIND JEWELRY”  call Stan the Metal Detector Man if you need  help ..  949-500-2136

*** Justin called asking if I was available to search for his white gold wedding ring at Bolsa Chica State Beach, CA. This state beach is located in Orange County, CA. and is actually in the City of Huntington Beach, CA.

He and his family spent the afternoon and evening set up at the fire pits. They set up a small tent to get away from the afternoon breeze. Justin put his wedding ring inside a pocket in the tent. After packing up the tent he remembered the ring when packing up the car.

Returning to the firepit to hand search the sand proved futile. The next morning he called me giving me verbal directions and a photo of the area. Justin was not able to meet me at the location but I felt it would be more important to get to the location as soon as possible. I had enough information to do the search. Timing is the most important factor for a successful search.

I had received the call at 7:30am and had Justin’s ring in the sand scoop before 9:00am. I love being able to leave promptly on these types searches because it’s very important. Justin was surprised when I sent him a photo of his ring so soon after he gave me all the landmarks as where he believe his ring might be. He met me that afternoon after he got off work.  He is a fireman and it was my pleasure to help a guy who job is to help others. A happy camper and very nice guy.

Don’t wait, call as soon as possible… Stan the Metal Detector Man …  949-500-2136  .. “I WILL TRY ANYWHERE “

Wedding band recovered in surf at Deal NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I was getting ready to go out detecting when I got a text from Max asking for help. While enjoying the day at Deal beach with his wife he decided to go in for one last dip. Out in chest deep water he felt his wedding band slip off his finger. He tried to catch it but couldn’t. Upset he went up and told his wife what had happened, she became upset as well. Thinking about it he did a Google search about lost ring at beach and discovered one of my recent recovery posts. He texted just to see and I called back immediately. He said he was getting ready to leave but when I told him I could be there within 15 minutes he agreed to wait. We met and he showed me where he was swimming and I started hunting. With a 2 hour difference in tide I figured it shouldn’t be as far out as when he lost it, maybe waisted high water now. After making just 3 passes back and forth I recovered his ring. They couldn’t believe I found it and how fast. Both were so happy to get Max’s ring back. Glad I could put a happy ending to their day.

Wedding band recovered in surf at Manasquan NJ by Dennis Burlingame

Got a call from fellow RingFinder Matty St Germain asking if I could go to Manasquan for a lost wedding band seeing he couldn’t. I called James and while at the beach he was in the water with his son throwing a football. While tossing the football, his ring flew off with it into the surf. I met him and he showed me the area he was in and I started hunting. Turns out I started out in to deep of water at first and couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t find it. I had the area he was in. After awhile I thought about the tide change and him telling Matty he was only about 10 to 15 feet from shore. Being low tide when I starting the hunt I moved closer to the shore line and sure enough I found his ring. He was grateful I found it, he mentioned his wife wasn’t to happy about it. Glad I could save the day and know his wife will be happy again. Another happy ending.

Cherished wedding band recovered in Long Branch NJ by Dennis Burlingame

I got a text from Alexandra in the evening asking if I could help locating her husband Dennis’ wedding band. I called her and asked what happened. While enjoying the day at the beach, Dennis went in for a swim and felt his wedding band slide off his finger while out in chest deep water. He was devastated, the ring ment so much to him, representing his marriage. Marry only 10 years but was with Alexandra for 26. Dennis was recently in the hospital and being sick had lost weight so the ring was alittle big on him now. Even while in the hospital the ring ment so much they wouldn’t let anyone take it off. Inside the ring was written in Hebrew  » I am my beloved and my beloved in mine  » I went down the next day at low tide and tried for 2 hours but couldn’t find it. I told them I’d be back the next day to try one more time. Went back down the next day and it was going on another 2 hours when I finally got a good signal. Dennis was with me when I heard the signal and with the waves bouncing us up and down, I dug 3 times before I could get it in the scoop and sure enough it was his ring. He was so excited I was afraid he’d drop it so I took it and started walking towards the beach and Alexandra was walking down to meet me, not knowing I found it. I walked up and said  I’m done I can’t do this anymore and reached out and handed her the ring . She couldn’t believe it. When Dennis came they just stood there and hugged each other for minutes and the people on the beach were clapping and cheering. One of the best recovery I’ve done in a long time. I’m so happy to reunite them with his ring.
