How to find a gold necklace with a metal detector in a lagoon, Beach Haven West NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Lost Necklace Recovered in the Lagoon Just Before Checkout!

I got a call from Matt, who had just wrapped up a relaxing week at the Jersey Shore. As he and his friends were packing up to leave, disaster struck—he dove off the bulkhead earlier that morning and felt his necklace slip right off, dropping straight down into the lagoon between the jet ski dock and the bulkhead.

He found my page and reached out in hopes that I could help, even though they had to check out by noon. I told him I’d rearrange my plans and head over immediately.

When I arrived, Matt showed me exactly where it happened. I got right to work, but the bottom was a mess—old bulkhead parts, a tree stump, and storm debris made swinging my detector tough. With so much metal interference from years of boating and water activities, it was slow going. The water was deep, the sun was blazing, and I was starting to think a dive with my handheld detector might be the only way.

Just as I was about to call it quits, I caught a solid signal—one that stood out from the usual noise. It took several tricky scoops, but then… success! Matt’s beautiful necklace was sitting in my scoop.

I handed up my gear, climbed out of the murky water, and joined the celebration on the dock. Matt and his friends were beyond thrilled, and the joy on their faces made every minute of the struggle worth it. After some happy chatting, they headed off with smiles and one last great memory of their vacation on the Jersey Shore.

Lost Wedding Band Found in Brigantine, NJ – Thanks to Ring Finders South Jersey!

Tyler and Jenny planned a relaxing getaway in Brigantine, NJ for one week. They were looking forward to sun, surf, and peace.

During one sunny afternoon, they headed to the beach to enjoy the calm breeze and warm sand. Everything was perfect.

As Tyler settled into his beach chair, he removed his wedding band and placed it in the chair’s pocket for safekeeping.

Later that day, they returned to their vacation home. That’s when Tyler noticed his wedding ring was missing.

LOST A RING?

I had just finished an engagement ring recovery in Ocean City, NJ. As I was packing up my gear, the phone rang. It was Annie, who had posted on Facebook that her daughter, Nia, had lost a sentimental gold cross on the beach while watching the sunrise. I told Jackie that I was only ten minutes away and offered to give it a try. Nia wasn’t sure exactly where the cross had come off, so I knew it might be a longshot. Undeterred, I headed to their location.

When I arrived, Nia gave me more details about where she had been sitting. With that information in mind, I started the search from the beach entrance and worked my way down towards the water. After crossing the entrance mat, I got a nice tone on my metal detector! I dug into the sand, and my heart raced as I saw the glint of gold. It was the cross! I called out to Nia, and as I handed her the cross, I could see the joy and relief in her eyes. She was so happy to have her beloved cross back. It was a great day in Ocean City, NJ, and I was thrilled to have made it a little brighter for Nia and her mom.

Lost necklace found with metal detector, Harvey Cedars NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

A little something different. This is the nicest review I have ever received. Its from Rachel, who contacted me after her father George, lost his family heirloom necklace he had worn for 50 years.

Long post incoming:

Yesterday we had our first beach day of vacation. As long as I’ve seen my dad, he’s worn his gold chain with two pendants, the immaculate conception and head of Christ. It’s hung around his neck for 50 years and was given to him by my grandmother.

We spent hours enjoying the beach before the annual LBI Lifeguard Races began and hundreds of people gathered over the area where we were sitting. It had to be around 6 pm when my dad realized his chain was missing from the side compartment of his beach chair. We looked and looked but there were so many people it was impossible.

I swear we all went to sleep with a gloom over us because this chain held so much importance.

The next day, I woke up early to drive back to the beach and look. No luck. After hours of time gone by, countless Facebook posts — I finally had locals recommend I call Edward Trapper, the NJ Ring Finder, known for his unwavering tenacity and success in finding lost treasures.

In less than 20 minutes, I drove down to the beach to meet Ed and his wife. Ed was eager to hear the background history of this chain, and the story it held.

For 45 minutes, he scoured the beach, meticulously covering every single inch of sand. He went above and beyond, but the chain was nowhere to be found. We decided to call it quits.

While walking up the ramp and off the beach, he turns to me and says,
What are the odds it’s up here on the ramp somewhere? Let me try one last time. I’d hate to leave without finding it.

Slowly, he walked down the ramp, the metal detector sweeping back and forth. Out of nowhere — ¾ the way down the ramp — the machine beeped, a clear, strong signal. He pushed in his scooper, sifting through the sand, and there it was—my father’s gold chain, buried by the side of the dune.

When I tell you we both screamed in joy… I was absolutely speechless.

Ed, I am so thankful for you and how generous you are. You truly have made this a story I will never forget. Your hard work and dedication is incredible.

How to find a ring lost on the beach, Beach Haven NJ, LBI, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Melissa sent me a message in a bit of a panic—her husband Ed had just lost his wedding ring on the beach and she wanted to know if I was available to help. They were sitting right there when he realized the ring was gone. One moment he had it, and the next, it had vanished into the sand. I reassured them to stay put, letting them know I could be there in about half an hour. When I arrived, I quickly marked off the perimeter around where they had been sitting and got to work. In less than five minutes, I heard the satisfying clink of metal in my scoop. The ring was safely recovered, much to their relief. Another fantastic recovery on the Jersey Shore !!

Diamond Wedding Rings lost and Recovered, Monmouth Beach NJ, recovered by Edward Trapper, NJ Ring Finder

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

Early on Monday morning, Marim texted me inquiring about my services to recover her lost wedding set. The day before, she had taken off her three rings and placed them on a blanket while applying sunblock. Later that day, thunderstorms moved in, and in the rush to leave, she forgot about the rings. She shook out the blanket, and they likely fell into the sand. It wasn’t until she arrived home that she realized what had happened. She and a friend drove back to the beach that evening, searching with flashlights, but with no luck.

When Marim contacted me, I knew I had to act quickly, as the area of the beach they were lost on was popular with other detectorists. The only problem was that she wasn’t sure exactly what beach they had been at,  as her friend had driven and she didn’t visit often. After several texts and phone calls with her friend, we agreed to meet at a nearby grocery store. From there, I followed her and her friend to the beach.

Luckily, it was a relatively quiet, wide stretch of sand, and we were the only ones there on that beautiful morning. Marim was confident we were in the right spot because she could see drag marks in the sand, and she used an app to track her family’s location, which returned us to the exact spot. After only a few minutes of searching, all three rings were safely in my scoop and back on her finger.

Marim was completely relieved. Fortunately, the beach was a private beach, with limited locations for the general public, or there might have been a good chance that someone else would have found the rings before we got there.

Beach Haven, LBI: A cross was lost in the sand. NJ Ring Finder Edward Trapper is ready to help you find it.”

  • from Lavallette (New Jersey, United States)

I received a call from Chad about locating his lost cross on a Jersey Shore beach. He explained that while playing football, one of his friends tackled him, and when he stood up, his necklace was broken. Luckily, Chad was still at the beach, and I was available to head right over to his location on Long Beach Island (LBI).

When I arrived, Chad walked me through the areas they had been in and pointed out the exact spot where his necklace had broken. I began by searching a 30-foot-wide area but only found a couple of coins. I then moved to another section where they had been catching passes but came up empty-handed again.

Puzzled as to why the cross wasn’t where Chad was tackled, I decided to return to the original spot and change the frequency on my metal detector. Sure enough, I picked up a faint signal that turned out to be Chad’s cross. Another successful recovery for the 2024 season!

Miriam expresses her excitement as she holds up her three precious irreplaceable keepsakes which metal detectorist and proud member of THE RING FINDERS, Brian Rudolph, recovered and returned to his client.

Miriam’s white gold, 1.15 carat solitaire diamond engagement ring with additional round diamonds on each side. White gold, half-infinity diamond wedding band and a white gold, diamond channeled half-infinity anniversary ring

I received a call from Miriam who lost three rings: her diamond engagement ring, diamond wedding band, and a similar style diamond anniversary ring with channeled diamonds halfway around the band.

For an entire week Miriam looked everywhere in the house and outside where she was doing yard work. No matter how many hours she and her husband Curtis searched for the three rings, they were nowhere to be found.

At some point, Miriam went online and found METAL DETECTING ADVENTURES INC, a local metal detecting business in the Maryland area. The website directed the woman to THE RING FINDERS, an elite international directory of metal detectorists who specialize in recovering lost rings and other items. That’s when she contacted me, THE RING HERO, Brian Rudolph.

I spoke with the distraught woman for some time on the phone, asking every question imaginable. Unfortunately, the garbage was already thrown out, but I gave her some other suggestions as to where to look for Miriam’s irreplaceable keepsakes. She said that she would call me back to schedule a visit if she still couldn’t find the rings.

Two weeks later (3 weeks since the initial disappearance of the jewelry), the sad and frustrated woman from Silver Spring, Maryland, called me back once again and requested my assistance in trying to recover her very special « symbols of love ». I was excited to help!

A couple of days later I arrived at the house. Between the two of us, we concluded that the only place left to search for the missing rings would be in and around the flower beds in front of the house.

I got out all of my metal detecting equipment and explained to Miriam how the search would take place. She showed me approximately 6 or 7 different locations around the front yard where she was weeding and trimming several weeks back.

Section by section, I metal detected each suspected area including scanning in and around a large hydrangea plant. I eventually moved over to the flower beds located adjacent to the foundation of the brick house. There were all kinds of miscellaneous pieces of metal discovered throughout the process of searching for the precious jewels. But eventually a very promising signal popped up on my detector screen! I got down on my knees and pinpointed the target with a handheld device. There buried in the leaves was the most beautiful sight! I found the white gold, 1.15 carat engagement ring with an additional round diamond on each side! I was beyond excited! My client began to cry!

I returned under the bushes to search for the other two rings! Within minutes, I found Miriam’s white gold, half-infinity diamond wedding band and her white gold, diamond channeled half-infinity anniversary ring, as well!

I could not have been happier for my Australian born client who had been painfully tormented for weeks not knowing if she was ever going to see her rings ever again! Miriam thanked me profusely for all of my help, starting with the endless questions that I asked her (to help get a better understanding as to where the rings could have ended up) to the professional metal detecting sleuth work I did to successfully recover my client’s sentimental keepsakes!

Before I left Miriam’s property, we called her husband Curtis and gave him the good news. We then bowed our heads and gave thanks to the Lord for answering our prayers which we offered up to God prior to the beginning of the search! Indeed there was much to be thankful for!
