March 15th 2021: Found a wedding band and engagement ring lost while playing softball.
Jocelyn, her husband and friends were playing family style softball in a field behind their house. She removed her beautiful rings and put them in her pocket before starting to play. After the game, she found her rings missing! Family and friends searched the field for several hours. They even borrowed a metal detector and a rake, to no avail.
Jocelyn then turned to the internet to seek professional help. She found my contact information on The Ring Finders site (https://theringfinders.com/Rob.Ellis/) and texted me the next morning. I made the 2 hour drive to Midlothian, Virginia to assist Jocelyn. When we met, I could see the disappointment in her eyes. She probably thought the rings were gone for good. After showing me the field, I assured her there was a good chance of recovery.
I began my search pattern in the area behind “home plate” and worked toward the “outfield”. I searched into the woods several feet on either side of the field. Within 40 minutes I located Jocelyn’s wedding band to the right side of the home plate area. I left the ring exactly where I’d found it, marking the location by sticking a pencil into the ground.
Over the next hour and 20 minutes, I searched the rest of the field. I then expanded the search area behind “home plate” and recovered the second ring. I marked the location of the second ring using a softball.
I sent a text to Jocelyn asking her to join me. When she arrived, I showed her the pencil indicating the location of her wedding band. She was incredibly happy to have her wedding band back, but the engagement ring held more sentimental value. I then asked her to pick-up the softball and, to her amazement, there was the ring. We both shared the delight and relief of finding her treasures.

Recently, I received a frantic call from Arthur, who found himself in the unfortunate predicament of losing his cherished platinum Tiffany’s wedding ring at Rincon Beach in North Ventura. Despite being thousands of miles away in Hawaii, his distress was palpable as he recounted the ring slipping off his finger during a playful moment with a friend’s dog at the beach. With determination in my heart, I set out on a mission to reunite Arthur with his beloved symbol of love and commitment.
Navigating through the sprawling expanse of Rincon Beach, I was met with a familiar sight: a shoreline littered with remnants of carelessly discarded bottle caps, a testament to the beachgoers’ revelry. Undeterred by the prospect of sorting through the debris, I embarked on a meticulous search, fueled by the hope of uncovering Arthur’s lost treasure.
Despite the daunting task ahead, perseverance proved to be the key as I diligently combed through the sands, guided by Arthur’s description and a few invaluable photographs provided by his friends. With each scoop, the anticipation grew until, finally, a faint but promising low tone echoed through the air. With bated breath, I unearthed the elusive ring, nestled among the sand and bottle caps, a gleaming beacon of hope amidst the debris.
A call and text swiftly confirmed the ring’s identity, and I assured Arthur that his precious possession would be safely kept until his return from Hawaii. Today, amidst the gentle sea breeze and the soft caress of the sun, Arthur’s story continued as his cherished ring found its way back to his finger, symbolizing a continuation of his journey.

I received a call from a woman in Chicago who wanted me to find her lost engagement ring. She had lost the ring while visiting family members in Ft Wayne IN. I was able to schedule some time on the 17th of March with her uncle who owned the property. Lost on the 13th and found on the 17th near where she parked when she went to visit her uncle. It truly was a lucky day for both of us.
So I got a call from William who lost his 10K solid gold bracelet from his grandfather, that was given to him by his grandfather just before he passed away. He believed he lost it while at the cemetery near Keswick Ridge, NB or possibly at his parents house in Fredericton, New Brunswick, while cleaning the front and back yard. To make it even worse it snowed for the next few nights covering the area. He had spent days on hands and knees trying to locate it and finally decided to look online for a metal detector rental, but found TheRingFinders and me instead. He called and we met at his house searching the front and back yards with no success. We then drove out and searched at the cemetery where he’d attended his grandfathers funeral. Snow had fallen and been plowed off the road and shoulders forming high snow banks. We started searching from where he’d walked from the road to the cemetery entrance and then searched where he’d parked along the highway. After a short search I located the ring as it had been pushed down the roadway a bit. He was actually on the phone with his family when I walked up and dropped the ring in his hand. To say he was taken aback is an understatement and I could hear hear the families reaction over the phone as he told them it had just been found.
I was so happy to reunite you with your late grandfathers bracelet, that he gave you, I hope it brings you many years of great memories as you wear and look at it.

So I got a call for a lost wedding ring. The gentleman was weeding his raised bed gardens in the fall to prepare them for replanting. At the end of the day, after discovering the missing ring he figured that on one of the many trips to throw the handfuls of weeds into the woods, his wedding ring joined them on the flight. He proceeded to search the many weed piles on the forest floor, with no luck. He even borrowed a metal detector, which made lots of noise and gave him exercise but no wedding ring. He then found me online and called and we arranged a time to meet/search. I arrived, got the whole story and saw the search areas. I then laid out and started my search, with the highest likely areas of loss first. After searching all the gardens, weed throw areas, paths to and from, and possible areas of other outdoor chores and coming up empty, it was time to expand the search area. After a 1/2 hr and 8ft outside te original search area, I heard the tone that I was looking for, and after moving some grass aside there was a lovely circle of gold looking back at me. I pulled a surprise reveal by asking him to see his wife’s matching ring to remind me what I was looking for, and when he showed it to me I said « You’re right it does look exactly like yours », and placed his ring beside her ring in my hand. A confused look came over him followed by a wave of realization and his eyes welled up and as he started thanking me. That reaction was all the thanks I needed.

I got a call last night from Nick saying he was out looking for a turkey hunting spot when his leg fell into a rotted out tree stump and his ring came off. He saw it come off, but quickly lost it. He tried to move leaf by leaf it hopes to find it. With no such luck, he went to the local Walmart and bought a bounty hunter. Took it back out to the site and scanned the area. Again, no luck.
He then sought help from « The Ring Finders » and I came out to help him locate his lost ring the next day. I scanned the area and didn’t hear anything either. I then took my pin-pointer out and stuck it in the rotted stump hole and got a hit. I pulled out three handfuls of stuff before I was able to rescue it from the two foot hole.
