Hi and thanks for reading my story about a lost steel graduation ring that was given to students that graduated their Iron Engineering Course. The call came in and the young man told me the story that he lost his steel graduation ring while helping his girlfriend do some gardening at her families home. By the sounds of it he was pretty sure that it was lost some where in the garden and I felt my chances were good to find it.
When I arrived at the location I was greeted by the young man and his girlfriend, I got my detector out of my truck and fired it up, we started to head to the garden in question and before I could swing the loop more then 3 times we both saw the ring lying in the dirt…
He started laughing and it was over that quick! This is the second time in 3 hunts that the ring was found in a less then a minute. I have the greatest job in the world! I get to make people Smile!
I love my Job!

Below is a testimonial about The Ring Finders…
It wasn’t just any ring that went flying off my finger while throwing snowballs at our husky. It was THE ring. The ring he chose all by himself. The ring he loved enough to give to me when he got down on one knee. And now it was hidden somewhere in 2 feet of snow!
We were newly engaged and still floating on cloud 9. Everything was perfect leading up to that afternoon of playing in the snow. The sunshine was glistening as we took turn tossing clumps of snow into the air. Our dog was jumping up chomping on them. I picked a big clump and tossed it with both hands. As I let go of the snow I knew instantly that my ring, which hadn’t been sized yet, was gone. Feeling it slide off the whole length of my finger was the worst feeling in the world.
We looked for hours. Tracing and retracing every inch of the dog park we were in. When our eyes failed us we shoveled 16 trash bags full of snow and melted them in the bathtub hoping to find my ring in the water. Bag after bag melted and bag after bag there was no ring. As my tears dried we slowly began to realize that short of a miracle, the ring was gone forever.
That miracle was discovering theringfinders.com on Google. They were great! There was no one in our area listed on the website but they found us a guy who lives down the street. Larry came the next day with all his gear and in 45 minutes had the ring back in my fiance’s hands. Larry’s strategy was simple and effective. He started with where I was standing and slowly expanded his search past where we had been looking until he hit the jackpot. We are so grateful to Larry and theringfinders.com for helping us! Instead of a tragic memory they gave us our ring, a great story to tell at the reception, and something my fiance can tease me about for the rest of our lives.
I received a call early last week in regards to a search for a small gold earring that was lost on a roof top patio. I knew it would be a tough search and most likely I couldn’t use any detectors due to all the nails but I was interested in helping because I could tell it meant a lot to the young man that lost it.
He told me that it was lost 2 year ago while he was getting a haircut outside on the roof top and he knew he should have got something to get it out of the resting spot between the 2×6 as he could see it resting there.
Two years later and just before he moved out of his apartment he needed to find the earring, he told me the story on how he owned it for close to 20 years and how he traded for it with a lady who he meet when he was only 11 years old.
We spent 2 1/2 hours searching the area and hosing down the roof top to hopefully jar it free from its resting spot to an area that we could collect the dirt and search for the earring. After some hard work and no luck I was getting ready to pack up and my gut told me to search one other likely area and that was the right thing to do as when the young man loosened the 2×6 the little earring fell out from the boards in front of both of us…
Its not just diamond rings and gold wedding bands that makes people so happy when you find it for them as this is proof that something so simple could mean so much…Just remember that everyones lost item has a story attached to it and when that item is lost the story ends…When we find it the story continues.
I received a call in regards to a lost wedding band a couple of weeks ago and we set a time to meet to do the search today. This young man was taking down the Christmas lights and at some point while doing that and playing with the neighbours dogs he lost his wedding band.
He searched for days and had no luck in finding the ring so he went on line and found »The Ring Finders Directory » and made the call…He explained to me that it might be a couple of weeks before I could come out to do the search due to his wife who was expecting any day.
Well he’s the proud father of a baby daughter, he called me to say to come over to find the ring and I knocked at his door this morning and we met.
While he was filling in the contract I stood on his front steps looking at the potential search area and as I was looking around I caught a glimpse of white gold in the red rocks that was in his garden under a small tree. I went over and pulled out his ring form the rocks and looked at him and said…Found it! He was pretty amazed as was I.
Sometimes you get lucky and my first find of the year was just that! I was a little disappointed that I didn’t get a chance to use my V3i but I’m sure there will be another search soon.
Thanks for reading my blog and you can watch the video on the link below…Unfortunately my GoPro was having some troubles so I lost most of the coverage…
I received a phone call from Kevan J. who has only been married since May of this year, 7 months and while playing wth his dog he lost his wedding ring. After a grid search in his back yard I found his ring. One very happy man!
Its been a while and yesterday afternoon I was out doing some Christmas shopping with my brother who is from California when I received a call from a young lady. She said that her father had lost his ring. She ask me a few questions and said that her dad would give me a call.
I got the call minutes later and the man went on to tell me that he had lost 4 huge rings at his job site, they had dropped out of his pocket because the zipper broke. You could image how upsetting that would be as he wasn’t sure where they had fell out…I was excited to get out there and search for his rings but I had Christmas shopping to do so I rushed around and got it done and shot out to Maple Ridge to help find the rings.
I got to the job site at 5:30 pm and we talked about the possibilities of where he thought the rings could be, he told me that he spent 6 hours the day before searching and sifting the dirt for the rings and 4 hours the next day. He called his daughter and asked her to search the internet to see if there was anyone out there with a metal detector that could help… She found »The Ring Finders »
I turned on my trusted Whites XLT and it was going crazy with the power line directly above me. I quickly went back to my truck and took out my new Whites V3i and set up the frequency and was able to program the detector to cancel out about 80% of the interference from the power lines above me.
After about 30 minutes the young man jumped into his backhoe and started to level out a big pile of sand so I could check it out and while he was doing that I went to another area where I got a good signal and started to dig…
Ring #1
What a sight to see when this came out of the dirt! We were very excited and hopeful that the rest would be close bye…

Only a yard away from the first ring…I knew the rest would show up close bye…
Ring #3
These were very large and heavy rings!
Ring#4
This was the biggest ring and what a great feeling to find all 4 rings, he said Christmas came early for him! I have to say that was fun! I think I found more gold then those guys from that reality show called Alaska »Gold Rush »

I joined The Ringfinders back in August and have been busy finding peoples lost rings. It’s very rewarding to both my clients and to myself . If you have lost a ring feel free to contact me.
I received a call from Chris who lost his wedding band while setting up his camera to take some pictures of the city from Locarno Beach in Vancouver. The thing was he didn’t know when the ring came off, this makes it hard to locate the ring as the area could be huge.
After talking to Chris on the phone he new he had it on when he left his car and when he got back to his car it was gone. He sent me a google map of the area as he couldn’t meet me, this was a great way to get a feel for the search area and I felt confident I could find the ring.
20 minutes after a started my search I found his ring at 3:30 am near the top of the search area on the picture above…I love it when I get lucky and pick the right area to start the grid search. It could have been a much longer search!
Today I had a search for a platinum diamond engagement ring that was lost on Meaghan property along the walk way beside her house. Meaghan had searched for a week on and off in the area that the ring came out of her pocket, but just couldn’t find it.
That’s what prompted her to search the internet and see if there was someone that could help her find her engagement ring of 5 years, finding »The Ring Finders » was exactly what she had hoped for!
I received the call and we set up a day to come out and find the ring, a week later I was there to check out the search area. Looking it over, I knew I’d be finding this ring without my detector.
After moving a dozen concrete blocks that were a part of the walk way and a couple of long pipes and boards and about 30 minutes…There it was under a concrete block closes to the house…
What a beautiful ring! I was so happy that it showed itself and its now back where it belongs. Thank you for reading my blogs and until the next search…
