Lost Wedding Ring… Found Des Moines, Iowa

Contact:

Austins ring AustinI found a white gold wedding band today for a young fella named Austin. He lost it while mowing roadside ditches this summer. When he parked the tractor he noticed his wedding ring was gone.

At one point during the day he had stopped to clean the mower out and figured he lost it there. His dad had an older metal detector so he went over the area with it and said he found lots of junk but not the ring.

So I had the day off from work for Veterans Day and we decided to meet up and see if we could come up with it even though it was brutally cold out with the wind blowing out of the north. When I started the search I found out why he had trouble at this site. It was at a crossroads in the country and it seemed that everyone who stopped at the stop sign threw some kind of junk metal into the ditch. I had many good gold signals that turned into pulltabs, pop tops, foil, bits of cans and other assorted junk.

Luckily some of the dead grass he had pulled from the mower was still laying there in clumps so it marked where he had cleaned out the mower. In one of those clumps I got another good gold signal, a 12-16 on the CTX3030 at two inches. There under the dead grass was his ring!

Glad I could help him out and he was very happy to have his ring back.

On Saturday, Jason lost his diamond wedding band while doing yard work.  Family and friends helped to search the yard.  Someone even tried to find it with a metal detector, but they had no luck.  Not knowing where to turn, his wife, Toni, decided to search the internet for help.  She found my information and gave me a call on Monday.  That evening, I searched the property for a few hours, mostly in the dark, but was unable to locate the ring.  I assured Toni and Jason that I would be back early Wednesday to continue the search, expecting that it would take quite some time given the size of the property.  Five minutes into the search, I located the ring in their lawn.  Jason and Toni were delighted!

Lost Palladium Wedding Band Morris County New Jersey Found

  • from Middlesex County, (New Jersey, United States)

10/20/14 – Got a call Monday afternoon from Mr. Charles Young for a lost wedding ring made out of palladium. Mr. Young had been out clearing leaves from his large side yard the day before and later discovered his wedding ring had slipped from his finger due to the chilly weather here in the Northeast. I met with him an hour and a half later after gathering and checking my detector (Minelab Safari) and other detection equipment I usually take with me. After introductions were completed, Mr. Young showed me a Bounty Hunter detector his young son possessed and said he had been using it to try and find the ring without any success. After discussing the operation of the detector with him, and asking some questions to determine the best place to start, I began a grid search. Mr. Young asked if he could use the Bounty Hunter to check also which I readily agreed to as our focus was on trying to find the ring. After about 40 minutes of searching, I was scanning an area near the side door of his home and just as I stepped forward to swing my detector, I spotted the ring sitting up against a small twig right in front of me! Mr. Young had probably walked right past it several times during his searching. I called over to him and placed the ring in his palm. He had been talking to his neighbor when I called him and he yelled back to the neighbor and held up the ring. The neighbor smiled and acknowledged the victory! Mr. Young’s 10 year old son came home from school at this time and I encouraged him to use his metal detector as I had received many hits in the side yard only down a few inches. Have to encourage the next generation of detectorists, and who knows, maybe a future Ring Finder!!! Smiles all around for a successful search.

Double Ring Find – Webb Lake, WI

We have a cabin on Webb Lake in northwestern Wisconsin.  On August 3rd I was in shallow  (about 4 ft deep) water, throwing toys around between my sons and a friend.  After returning to the cabin, I discovered that my wedding ring was not on my finger.  I was gripped with an awful feeling of loss.  Beside the fact that it was a symbol of love and marriage for 27 years, it was unique… could never be duplicated.  That ring was designed by my wife, Peggy, and was hand crafted by an elderly Latvian artist friend (no longer alive), Mike Geistauts.  Mike, a sculptor artist, used the ancient “lost wax” investment casting method to create our gold wedding rings according to Peg’s design.

Family and friends hunted for many hours without success that weekend.  Then a co-worker alerted us to www.TheRingFinders.com website and I got in touch with Dan Roekle.  Dan and his son, Carter, loaded up their search equipment and made the very long drive  from their home near Madison to Webb Lake (a 5+ hour drive).  They arrived on the morning of August 16th.  By lunchtime, they had searched the entire identified area and had pulled up a lot of odd metal objects including, incredibly, someone else’s wedding ring.  For a moment, my wife thought they had found my lost ring, but quickly determined it was not it.  Dan said he had never been so disappointed to find a ring before in his life.   They resumed the search after lunch and Carter, swimming with goggles spotted my ring and retrieved it.  Dan and Carter think that it was probably next to another piece of junk that they dug up earlier in the day … which stirred up the sand and uncovered it.

Peg and I were elated and so very grateful.  It was so amazing to get that precious ring back on my finger.  At this time, the ring is off my finger again for resizing.  Thank you so very much, Dan and Carter, for being willing to come so far and search until you succeeded.

Victoria, B.C. Wednesday July 30th 2014

Adele was visiting Victoria with her daughter (Errin) and grandchildren from Lethbridge Alberta.

July 27th the grandchildren and some neighbourhood children decided to play Princess, using Adele’s jewellery. Mom Erin discovered the kids were playing with her mothers jewellery in the back yard and several items became scattered all over the yard and in the flower gardens.

Everyone searched and most items were recovered, except one very important ring that Adele’s past husband gave her. As you can imagine this ring being the last ring that he gave her before passing was very special and important.

Errin searched the internet and found me on the www.theringfinders.com web site

After getting a message on my Cell Phone to called Adele re a lost ring I arranged a time to search.

About 20 minutes into the search I found this awesome 3 diamond ring.

I love my job, nothing better then a Happy Ending.

Lost Woman’s White Gold Ring in Galion, OH. “FOUND”

I received an email that a woman lost her white gold diamond ring. She was pulling out some poison ivy near some brushes and as she brushed back her hair, there also went the ring flying into the air and landing somewhere around the brushes. I met up with her later the same day to do the search. After looking in the brushes, leaves and grass there was the ring. She was very happy to have the ring back since she just received it from her daughter just a short time ago.

After talking more with her, she said that she received my information from her daughter. Come to fine out that this ring I found for her was also the ring that her daughter lost and I found for her back in March of this year. See link. http://theringfinders.com/blog/Jon.Baughman/2014/03/lost-woman-wedding-ring-delaware-found/

I received a call about a white gold wedding ring that was lost while playing baseball with his kids. A search needed to be done as soon as possible since the baseball fields are going to be used the next day. About 20 hours later we met at the baseball field. I search the whole left outfield as one of the possible lost locations. But no luck. Then I started to search back to the bleaches from the left outfield and there it was in the grass. He was very happy to have his ring back.
